• HyperX Alloy FPS - reliability above all. HyperX Alloy FPS mechanical gaming keyboard review

    The company website presents a unique gaming keyboard Hyperx Alloy FPS Cherry MX Red. You can order it on the website right now, we will arrange delivery to any region of the Russian Federation.

    This keyboard is unique in its design. It has a metal base and is made of very durable plastic. Due to the skeleton format, the buttons are located above the surface rather than recessed into it. In addition, they are implemented on the basis of Cherry MX Red mechanical switches, which are characterized by fast response and good feedback. Due to this, the keyboard will be easy to use and durable. Nice bonus- the buttons are removable and a set of additional caps is included.

    The design of the Hyperx Alloy FPS is made in a laconic gaming style: black plastic and built-in red backlight. The functionality is implemented through the F6-11 button block for multimedia and 12 buttons that solve the tasks of the WASD block and numbers from 1 to 4. The ability to record macros has been implemented. The keyboard connection is wired. The kit includes a 1.8 m long elastic braided cord.

    Peculiarities:

    • wear-resistant design;
    • Cherry MX Red switches;
    • multifunctionality;
    • programmable buttons;
    • Russian keyboard layout and large Shift;
    • low price in its segment;
    • compatible with Windows platforms.

    Not only those gamers who are in Moscow can buy the Hyperx Alloy FPS Cherry MX Red keyboard from the famous Kingston brand. We accept orders from all over Russia. Find out more information about the device from the manager. The price in the catalog is current at the time of placing the order.

    Kingston never ceases to amaze fans of its products and connoisseurs of high-quality peripherals. Not long ago we met the flagship gaming headsets HyperX Cloud Revolver, which sounds great in games and performs well when playing music. This is exactly the impression we got after our test.

    This time, as part of their brand, the developers presented their first Alloy FPS keyboard with a minimalist design, equipped with Cherry MX Blue mechanical switches, and several versions of the Fury Pro Gaming series mat, which differ only in size.

    The new products are aimed at purposeful players, for whom ease of use and quality of workmanship prevail over advanced functionality.

    HyperX Fury Pro Gaming Review

    Specifications

    Packaging and delivery

    The HyperX Fury Pro Gaming Mat comes in a bright red and black elongated packaging. On one side there is a small window for viewing the new product, and since it is not covered by anything, you can try it by touch.

    Despite its size, the box is very informative. The developers briefly presented the main advantages of their product and its characteristics in several languages.

    These include a soft, wear-resistant coating and high-quality processing surfaces to ensure reliable adhesion to the table surface. We will talk about its other, more important qualities below.

    Appearance

    A comfortable and high-quality mouse pad is an integral part the whole system for gamers. Many manufacturers know this, and they often try to release a high-quality product with their own symbols. Kingston developers did not stand aside either.

    The Fury Pro Gaming line is presented in four variations, each of which differs in size:

    • S – 240 x 290 mm;
    • M – 300 x 360 mm;
    • L – 420 x 500 mm;
    • XL – 420 x 900 mm.

    We received the HyperX Fury Pro Gaming XL model for testing, and here we can confidently say that “size matters.” The Fury's surface is made of natural rubber and features a special, leno weave of fibers that provides excellent mouse glide and precise positioning, as well as a comfortable fit on the wrist.

    The mat itself is made of wear-resistant material, which allows the new product to easily withstand folding and bending, maintaining its shape during intensive use.

    The HyperX Fury Pro Gaming mat version XL is in reality so huge that a standard 30 cm ruler can easily be lost on it. This caused certain difficulties in preparing the material and subsequent testing, because such a giant easily covered the entire working area of my table.

    As an obvious advantage, we note the fact that this model perfect for those readers who do not make compromises.

    The reverse rubberized side of the HyperX Fury Pro Gaming, like that of third-party models, is unremarkable except for the quality of the coating.

    Here the developers distinguished themselves by applying a huge name of their company and an alphanumeric product code.

    HyperX Alloy FPS review

    HyperX's first gaming keyboard was the Alloy FPS, which turned out to be very successful: it's easy to use, compact, durable, reliable and equipped with proven Cherry MX switches. We have already met her, you can review her. At the beginning of the year, information appeared about the Alloy Elite RGB with additional buttons and multi-colored backlighting; apparently, it will go on sale a little later. And at Computex a variation of HyperX Alloy FPS was noticed without additional digital block, which was recently announced and called HyperX Alloy FPS Pro. It was presented together with HyperX Alloy Elite, which we’ll talk about today. Alloy FPS was oriented (including) for outdoor use: its compact dimensions, removable cable and included case directly indicated this. The Elite model looks more like a comfortable home solution. She retained most of the advantages of her predecessor and acquired pleasant additional “goodies”.

    What is this?

    HyperX Alloy Elite - gaming keyboard with standard layout, additional buttons, Cherry MX mechanical switches, red backlighting, USB pass-through and 100% Anti-Ghosting (handles any number of simultaneous presses).

    HyperX Alloy Elite inherits a steel frame from its predecessor for greater strength and more impressive weight, which allows you to stand more confidently on the table and not slip. But now, above the main part of the keyboard, an additional plastic block has appeared with separate multimedia keys, backlight adjustment buttons and a game mode button. Visually, it is separated from the main part of the keyboard by a backlit strip that spans the entire width of the keyboard. The switches are, again, Cherry MX; I think it’s not necessary to talk about their reliability and durability once again. In our case, these are linear Cherry MX Red, but the keyboard will also be available in brown and blue. The backlight is red, there is brightness adjustment and different dynamic modes, including custom. Of course, all this is done without any software: HyperX does not change its traditions. Other bonuses include a removable stand for brushes, a pass-through USB port, thanks to which you can connect a mouse or flash drive if necessary (in the previous model, it could only be used to charge mobile devices) and replaceable caps for WASD and 1234.

    What's in the box?

    The keyboard comes in a large cardboard box with a signature black and red color scheme. The box shows the keyboard itself, some features and the type of switches used. Inside - a keyboard, a removable stand for brushes, replaceable caps with a replacement tool, instructions:

    What does HyperX Alloy FPS look like?

    The appearance of the HyperX Alloy Elite has much in common with the previous model: the keyboard is black, the buttons (or rather Keycaps) are made of matte plastic, the shape is familiar, with a slight indentation. The base of the keyboard is a black steel plate. It really makes the keyboard durable and the HyperX Alloy Elite does not flex and feels solid. In the upper right corner there is a white HyperX logo and 3 LED indicator for CapsLock, NumLock and game mode. Above, as you can see in the photo, an additional plastic block has appeared, on the right side of which there is a roller for adjusting the volume and a round-shaped backlit multimedia content control button:

    The entire block is visually separated from the main one by a groove with a luminous strip across the entire width of the keyboard:

    On the left are three more additional buttons to adjust brightness, switch the backlight operating mode and game mode (the Windows button is disabled). In Alloy FPS, all these actions were performed using the combination Fn plus the corresponding F. In Elite, the Fn button is missing due to its uselessness:

    The keyboard has a “frameless” design (Skeleton), without a top cover. Mechanical switches are visible between the button caps and the main plate. This eliminates the possibility of strategic food accumulation in the keyboard and looks very cool:

    The cable is attached to the back in this case It is non-removable and very thick. To the left is a full-fledged USB port for connecting anything necessary:

    The brush stand is quite wide and is also made of matte plastic. The entire length of the main block of buttons is covered with a textured pattern. There are no fingerprints left on it and it is extremely pleasant to the touch. If you don't like it, you can take it off:

    The lower part of the keyboard is made of matte plastic, in the middle there is a sticker with technical information, in the corners there are four large rubberized legs. They have become significantly larger than in HyperX Alloy FPS:

    The folding legs also have rubberized inserts to prevent slipping:

    The keyboard can be placed at two angles. I personally found the option with raised legs more convenient and natural for printing and gaming:

    The cable is non-removable, thick, covered in black fabric braid. Towards the end it branches into two thinner ones with two USB connectors. One for the keyboard itself, the second for the port on the keyboard:

    How comfortable is the keyboard?

    HyperX Alloy FPS uses Cherry MX mechanical switches that can withstand over 50 million clicks. Specifically, we had a model with Cherry MX Red in our review, but they will also be available with Cherry MX Brown and Cherry MX Blue and everyone will be able to choose for themselves. Cherry MX Red - switches with linear travel, no tactile response or click, travel is 4mm and 2mm before actuation. They are close to the MX Black, but require less force to operate (equivalent to 45g versus 50g for the black ones). These switches are best suited for quick game when to develop maximum speed clicks They are less suitable for working with texts, although getting used to them happens quickly and I typed a couple of reviews (including this one) on the HyperX Alloy Elite.

    The keyboard has a standard, full-fledged layout. All buttons are in their places, row F starts exactly above button “2”, there are switchable buttons on both sides Windows buttons, which can be safely disabled. Fn is missing for obvious reasons, the only nuance that I may not like is the one-story Enter, although this point did not bother me. The button caps themselves have a slightly concave shape; you hardly have to get used to the buttons and layout.

    The kit includes replacement caps for 1234 and WASD. They are silver, and the WASD have a grooved surface, so feeling them will not be a problem:

    The removable stand for brushes is convenient: it has an optimal width, plus the brushes do not sweat thanks to the textured coating. If desired, you can easily remove it. The keyboard has been tested in DOOM, Star Wars Battlefront, Battlefront 2 (alpha), Hitman, Witcher 3, CS:GO, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, GTA V, Watch Dogs 2, For Honor, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, XCOM 2 and StarCraft 2. In games, the keyboard performed excellently; fast response and minimal required effort allow you to develop high speed clicks. For typing texts, the switches are a little less suitable and you need to get used to them, because there are false presses. Although this is not a problem and you can choose an option with a different type of switches.

    The keyboard has red backlit buttons with several operating modes and four brightness levels. Due to the specific design of Cherry MX, Cyrillic characters shifted upwards, thanks to which they are also well illuminated. There are several modes of backlight operation: static, wave, backlight of pressed buttons, “explosion” (the backlight radiates from the pressed button in a wave), backlight of game buttons and a custom mode, in which you can choose which buttons will be backlit.

    HyperX AlloyFPS CherryMX Red- a classic, reliable gaming keyboard designed for shooter fans. The device is based on a heavy-duty steel frame, which ensures its durability. Small dimensions allow you to increase the space for mouse movement during the game. The device can operate either via a wired connection or via a USB connection. Mechanical key travel with Cherry MX Red technology provides the player with high-precision contact and can withstand more than 50 million keystrokes.

    The red backlight has five levels of brightness and creates convenience when holding tournaments in an unlit room. The design includes a USB connector for charging mobile device. Activating game mode turns off Windows key, preventing accidental exit. Support for Anti-Ghosting technology correctly recognizes the required commands when all keys are pressed simultaneously. In addition to HyperX AlloyFPS CherryMX Red A high-quality carrying and storage case is included, as well as red colored caps, which will create even more comfortable playing conditions and allow you to quickly find the necessary buttons.
