• How to set up a selfie stick on Android: instructions, applications, problem solving. Selfie stick: which phones are it suitable for and what types are there?

Today we’ll tell you about the device you need, how or selfie stick, hoeyy, in short, a stick where you can attach a phone and even a small camera. It is very useful for traveling or just for taking original selfie photos, and will also help capture you together or make a video report. The selfie stick is a very convenient and necessary thing. Therefore, if you decide to buy a monopod (selfie stick), below we have given advice how to choose a monopod for a smartphone.

    CAMERA SHUTTER BUTTON

There are two types of camera launch: wired (cord) and wireless (Bluetooth). Thisaffects the price, so choose what is your priority.

Wired (corded) uses a wire with a plug, like in headphones (aux, 3.5 mm), which is inserted into the smartphone connector. The button is located in the handle of the monopod (selfie stick) - when you press the button, the shutter is released.

IN wireless type usedBluetooth button (on the monopod handle) or remote control. It uses batteries (AA or “tablet”), or a built-in battery (enough for about 100 shots). Setting up a connection is not easy, but it is possible. For the remote control you need to download the application (free). This monopod works at a distance. You can not only press “start”, but also increase/decrease focus, switch between front and rear cameras, choose between photo or video mode, which is very convenient, the choice is yours.

MOUNT (where the phone is attached to the selfie stick)

The more rubberized inserts it has, the more securely the phone will be fixed. Ask the seller to attach your phone and give it a good shake.

You can insert your phone in a rubberized bumper (case), and the smartphone will sit as if in concrete (well, it won’t break if it falls), we have already written how to protect your smartphone on vacation from scratches, water, and sand.

    SELFIE STICK TUBE QUALITY

The material from which the telescopic tube is made is important. Try to bend it slightly but not too much. If you can do this easily (like a fishing rod), it’s better to look at another monopod. Test it with a smartphone: the pipe should not bend with the phone. If you plan to buy a model with Bluetooth and take pictures in water, then choose a monopod with moisture protection, it is 20% more expensive.

DIMENSIONS AND HANDLE OF THE SELFIE STICK

Monopod should fit in a pocket or purse, so there is no point in buying models large sizes(optimally - up to 21 cm), especially when traveling, you always want to take smaller things. You can read the list of things to pack for your trip by following the link. The handle itself should be made of soft plastic (hard ones slide) or rubberized. There are also handles with a loop for convenience.

    SMARTPHONE TILT ANGLE

The head type is a mechanism that ensures freedom of movement of the smartphone. The most common are 2D/3D heads. They can rotate around two (2D head, this is more than enough) or three axes (3D). Rare models are equipped with ball heads (they are more often used in tripods for cameras and video cameras).

CONVENIENCE OF THE TELESCOPE (sections slide out from one another)

In almost all monopods, the folding principle is telescopic (sections extend one from the other). In inexpensive models, sections soon weaken and scroll under the weight of smartphones. To prevent this from happening, manufacturers of high-quality devices put special grooves on the tripod, and add length locks to the design. But such models are 30-40% more expensive. The length depends on the number of sections: in 5-section models it is 75-100 cm, in 6-7 section models it is 80-120 cm. The shorter the length of each section and the greater their number, the more options you have for adjustment.

Thank you for reading our blog. See you soon on the pages of our

Until about the mid-2000s, taking photographs of yourself caused certain problems. To do this, you had to put the camera on a tripod or ask to take pictures completely stranger. There was no talk of using a mobile phone or smartphone - these devices had a rounded shape, which made it impossible to place them on any flat surface. But now everything has changed, as now there are so-called selfie sticks. The choice of such an accessory will be discussed below.

The monopod was invented quite a long time ago. However, initially this accessory was used only professional photographers. And he was not quite what we mean by this word now. In fact, the monopod was a lightweight version of a tripod. His foot was placed on the ground, helping the man hold the heavy photographic equipment motionless. In fact, similar monopods still exist today, and professionals continue to choose them.

With the development of compact cameras and smartphones, a separate class of monopods has emerged. It includes accessories that are not placed on the ground, but taken in the hand. This way you can easily take a photo of yourself - take a so-called selfie. That is why such accessories began to be popularly called selfie sticks.

Initially, monopods did not contain any electronics. The user was asked to use the self-timer on their camera or smartphone. But quickly enough it became clear to everyone that this was terribly inconvenient. Therefore, now many selfie sticks are equipped with at least one button - it allows you to remotely press the shutter button, thereby taking a photo. In this regard, monopods have their only serious drawback - they need to be recharged regularly.

    Connection type

If you are thinking about how to choose a selfie stick, then try to first decide on the connection method. The fact is that such accessories are both wired and wireless.

Attention: iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus only support wireless models, since they do not have a corresponding connector!

Wireless monopods send a signal using well-known technology Bluetooth. This accessory is convenient because it is easy to use - you just need to insert the smartphone into a special mount, after which you can remove it. But there is one exception. The fact is that upon first use you will need connect selfie stick to smartphone. However, this process is not complicated. In the future, the monopod will connect automatically - you just need to keep Bluetooth turned on.

There are wireless selfie sticks in which the Bluetooth button is designed as a separate remote control. You can use it without the monopod itself, which is also very convenient.

Unfortunately, not all wireless models are consistently recognized different smartphones. Examples of incompatibility are described en masse on forums and in reviews. It also happens when the selfie stick is only partially recognized - you can take a photo, for example, but pressing the zoom button on the picture does not lead to anything.

Wired models have a short cable. At its end there is a 3.5 mm jack. It is inserted into the audio jack - this is where the phone will receive the signal to take a picture. If you buy such a monopod, you will need to not only insert the device into a special mount each time, but also insert the cord into the socket. This will not always be convenient. Moreover, you need to monitor the safety of the cable - you can easily break it by carelessly pulling the device out of the mount.

The smartphone recognizes a wired monopod as a headset. If the selfie stick does not have a microphone, then you will not be able to record video with sound.

A wired connection can be called more stable. There are cases of incompatibility between such a stick and a smartphone, but they are more rare.

    Design

No less important parameter than the connection method. Modern monopods come in a variety of designs. In particular, the following characteristics change from model to model:

    • Number of sections- the fewer there are, the stronger the structure is. But even more important is the fixation of the sections relative to each other. Sometimes a three-section product can turn out to be very flimsy. Without good fixation, the links will scroll. As a result, your smartphone will fall, preventing you from taking a photo. Typically, grooves on the links act as retainers. But there are also monopods with clips. Such sticks are more reliable, but also larger, which not everyone will like.
    • Length- this parameter determines how wide the space will be in the frame. Of course, the length in the folded and unfolded states will be very different. Shooting from a meter distance will be optimal. But some selfie sticks offer an extra length of 130 cm. Even more important characteristic folded length may appear. After all, some people want to put a monopod in their pocket - then it should be 25 cm. If you always have a bag or backpack with you, then you can buy a longer monopod for selfies.
    • Weight- it is influenced by the materials from which the entire structure is assembled. The longest and heaviest products weigh 200-300 grams. You will quickly get tired of taking this selfie stick with you. But you shouldn’t buy a very light accessory, as this may indicate its fragility. Especially if your smartphone itself has a large screen and heavy weight. Good monopods weigh approximately 100-170 grams.

    Smartphone mount

Not all monopods are designed for smartphones. Don't forget that they were originally intended to be used in conjunction with cameras. That’s why you can still come across a selfie stick in stores equipped with a tripod thread. Monopods for GoPro with a specially designed mount are also selling quite successfully. As for selfie sticks for smartphones, they have a fairly large holder that literally clamps mobile device. To avoid scratching the body, the mount usually has a number of rubber inserts.

When you are faced with choosing a selfie stick, be sure to look at what smartphone sizes are supported. If you use a phablet, certain problems may arise. However, in lately You can easily find sticks designed for devices even with a 6-inch display.

Some models are equipped with a removable platform. There may be a tripod thread underneath it. This is a kind of bonus that allows you to mount not only a smartphone, but also a camera.

Pay attention to how well the holder is made. It will be a shame if it starts scratching the side ends of your device. Also, evaluate in which directions the platform turns. Usually it only tilts up and down, but there are more advanced design options. However, with cheap models this is much worse - if their platform turns in different sides, then with some difficulty. If you choose a budget stick, it is better to look towards an option with a simplified holder design - then it will at least be reliable.

Forget about selfie sticks with a collapsible design. You will quickly lose one or even several elements!

    Maximum device weight

Each monopod is designed for a device of one weight or another. There are monsters that do not break even when holding a 500-gram device, while others do not allow you to stably hold even a device weighing 300 grams. However, if we talk specifically about selfie sticks for smartphones, then in the case of them there is no need to focus on the maximum supported weight. Rest assured: monopods will support any smartphone, even if it is a very large phablet. Only selfie sticks from China, ordered through popular online stores, cause a certain amount of mistrust.

    Waterproof

Most often, monopods are not designed to be used underwater or in wet weather. This is due to the fact that their sections are made of metal that is resistant to moisture. If you use such a selfie stick in the rain several times, then expect micro-corrosion to appear in the future. As a result, the stick will begin to creak and in every possible way interfere with quick unfolding.

If you are a diver or a fan of shooting in a bathhouse or sauna, then you need to look for a model with water protection. Typically, such monopods do not contain metal parts, or they are securely closed with some additional parts made of plastic or rubber. Such accessories are not cheap. And you don’t need to buy them on AliExpress, where the “waterproof” marking is placed on products without looking at them or conducting any tests.

    Control

Perhaps one of the most important parameters any selfie stick. And at the same time the most trifling. This is explained by the fact that some people care about which smartphone functions they can use remotely, while others only need the ability to press the shutter button.

The simplest monopods do not have keys at all. In this case, you will have to press the self-timer button on the screen each time, using a timer for 5 or 10 seconds. This is very inconvenient unless your smartphone is capable of receiving voice commands. Fortunately, these selfie sticks are now gradually disappearing from sale.

The largest number of monopods supplied to store shelves are equipped with only one button. With its help, as you might guess, a picture is taken or a video is recorded. Sometimes you can additionally find a 2-second self-timer button on the handle.

A very minimal number of monopods have some kind of additional keys. In particular, sometimes the user is given the option of digital zoom.

    Additional accessories

Manufacturers of monopods are trying in every possible way to improve their products. To do this, they provide selfie sticks with additional accessories. Among them, the most popular are the following:

    • Carbine- fastens to the handle. Allows you to attach the monopod to a belt or backpack strap.
    • Mirror- located on the holder. Allows you to use rear camera, the mirror will clearly show what exactly is captured in the frame.
    • Storage case- the least useful thing. Experience shows that many people simply neglect or lose this accessory.
    • Tripod- turns a monopod into a compact tripod.

How much does a selfie stick cost?

In the vastness of Chinese online stores you can easily find monopods, the price of which starts from a couple of dollars. But there is no need to consider purchasing such sticks, since they are extremely unreliable. Good quality selfie sticks cost around 300-500 rubles. Well, accessories with all sorts of additions or increased length will cost significantly more. And those models that are not at all afraid of water have a very high price tag. You can also note that monopods compatible with iOS are more expensive than those with this operating system unknown. It just so happens that even accessory manufacturers want to make money from iPhone owners.

Selfie sticks became popular overnight. This accessory allows you to move your smartphone some distance away, capturing yourself against the backdrop of some landmark. Young couples also use this device. However, not every selfie stick meets all the requirements of the modern consumer. In order not to make a bad choice, we recommend that you read this article. She will talk about the types of these accessories and the main selection criteria. We'll also go over the best selfie sticks available on Russian market. And in a separate article you can familiarize yourself with the nuances of using a selfie stick.

What kind of selfie sticks are there?

Almost all selfie sticks are a traditional monopod, at one end of which there is a clip for a smartphone or a mount for some other device. However, this does not mean that selfie sticks are not different from each other. In particular, various accessories can be made of different materials. And the build quality can also vary greatly. But most often, monopods are divided into categories according to the method of synchronization with a smartphone:

    • Wired Products they will require the device to have a 3.5 mm connector - it is through this that the signal about creating a frame will be transmitted;
    • Wireless accessories synchronize via Bluetooth.

Also, many selfie sticks differ from each other in length and thickness. Some of them easily fit in a pocket, while others, even when folded, will require space in a backpack.

Pay attention to the shutter button too. Most monopods have it on the handle. But not everyone. Some models come with a separate remote control, on which the desired button is located (if it gets lost, such an addition can be purchased separately). There are also very cheap selfie sticks that do not have any button - their use involves shooting using the self-timer. Such products are now very rare.

    The best inexpensive selfie sticks

    Monopod DEXP MS-300
    • Folded state: 22 cm
    • Unfolded state: 109 cm
    • Communication type: absent

The cheapest accessory in our rating. The easiest way to find this monopod is in stores of the DNS retail chain - here the selfie stick is sold in a variety of colors. You can purchase the product for only 250 rubles. Such a low price is explained by the lack of ability to control shooting here. That is, there is no shutter button on the monopod. However, in the future, no one is stopping you from buying a separate remote control that will allow you to forget about the self-timer.

The build quality of the DEXP MS-300 is quite decent. Most of the accessory was made of metal. The monopod is just long enough to fit at least two people into the frame. There is also a strap that will prevent you from dropping the selfie stick. You can only find fault with the thickness of the product. The handle turned out to be too thin, making it difficult to hold the monopod in your hand long time simply inconvenient. Also, some specimens are distressing due to the presence of backlashes. But what else were you hoping to get for that kind of money?

    Goshot
    • Folded state: 21 cm
    • Unfolded state: 90 cm
    • Communication type: wire

A very small monopod that should fit in a jacket pocket. Of course, because of this, even when unfolded, the accessory does not become particularly long. But 90 cm should be enough to take a photo of yourself and someone else.

You can find at least two color options for this accessory in stores. Unlike the previous model reviewed, there is already a shutter button, which allows you to take a picture at any convenient moment. Synchronization with a smartphone is carried out via a wire, at one end of which there is a 3.5 mm mini-jack. The components of the monopod were made of metal; they are held in the unfolded position very reliably. Nothing bad can be said about the handle, which turned out to be quite thick, and on top it is covered with a rubberized material. Even the battery is good - you don’t need to charge it too often. However, it was not without its shortcomings. Buyers note the fragility of the installed wire - one day it will definitely come off, forcing the owner to spend money on a Bluetooth button.

    LP MPD-3

    • Folded state: 23 cm
    • Unfolded state: 93 cm
    • Communication type: Bluetooth

A relatively compact monopod, available in several colors. This accessory is sold for only 380 rubles. All its components are made of metal, and no backlash is noticed. The clamp is tight - the phone will definitely not fall out of it. The only thing that can confuse me is the lack of a strap. It will not be possible to screw it to the end of the handle - it is tightly sealed with a seal.

There is not a single button on the monopod itself. However, the manufacturer still allows you to press the shutter button remotely. A small remote control is provided for this purpose and is powered by a coin cell battery. There are two buttons on this remote control. One is for Apple smartphones, the other is for devices on Android based. The box also contains Russian-language instructions that describe the entire connection process step by step.

    Aceline AC36BT
    • Folded state: 20 cm
    • Unfolded state: 96 cm
    • Communication type: Bluetooth

Another relatively inexpensive accessory that has many color options. Its length when folded does not exceed 20 cm, thanks to which the monopod can fit in a jacket pocket. The selfie stick consists of seven sections made of metal. There are absolutely no backlashes, there are no questions about the reliability of the product. The manufacturer claims that his creation is capable of holding devices weighing up to 500 g, and there is no point in not believing him.

The cost of this model reaches a quite tangible 490 rubles. In this regard, it should not be surprising that the shutter button is located on the handle, and Bluetooth is used to synchronize with a smartphone. There is no need to think about any batteries - the monopod is powered by a built-in battery, which is recharged via the micro-USB connector. In short, the product does not have any significant shortcomings. Shouldn’t you demand moisture protection from an inexpensive accessory? However, some buyers note the rigid folding.

    The best top selfie sticks

    Huawei Honor AF-11

    • Folded state: 18 cm
    • Unfolded state: 66 cm
    • Communication type: wire

The smallest monopod in our rating. The length of the accessory when folded does not exceed 18 cm. There is a high probability that such a baby will easily fit in an outerwear pocket. Alas, when unfolded, the selfie stick does not become much longer - six aluminum sections move apart by only 66 cm. However, if the camera built into the smartphone has wide angle review, then this will be enough.

The accessory is connected to the device via a wire. This solution allowed the manufacturer to abandon the battery - the power button is supplied through a 3.5 mm audio jack. It may seem that this monopod is intended exclusively for Huawei smartphones. But in reality this is not the case - ideal work is possible both with other “Androids” and with iOS devices. And also note that there is no strap here. If you are not famous for dexterity and accuracy, then it is better to find another specimen.

    Xiaomi Mi Selfie Stick

    • Folded state: 20 cm
    • Unfolded state: 70 cm
    • Communication type: wire

It would be strange if I didn’t create my own Xiaomi company, which seems to produce almost every conceivable and inconceivable accessory. Her creation focuses on small sizes. This monopod is also easy to use at any time of the year. If other selfie sticks begin to behave inappropriately in winter, then the product from Xiaomi does not have such problems. This is due to the special design. The metal base here is covered with light plastic, protecting it from strong temperature changes and even moisture.

Like the competitor from Huawei discussed above, the monopod is connected to the smartphone via a 3.5 mm connector. This may seem inconvenient. But the product does not require a built-in battery, the state of charge of which must be constantly monitored. It’s also worth noting the clamp used here, which turned out to be very convenient. Finally, the Chinese did not forget about the strap, which will prevent the selfie stick from jumping out of your hand during a sudden movement. In short, this accessory has no serious drawbacks except for its weight - 130 g may seem like too much for some. Accessory cost in Russian stores is 890 rubles.

    Harper RSB-203

    • Folded state: 22 cm
    • Unfolded state: 80 cm
    • Communication type: Bluetooth

A fairly large monopod designed for use in conjunction with any smartphone based on Android or iOS. The cost of this accessory reaches 1200 rubles. The manufacturer asks such a lot of money for excellent build quality. All sections of the monopod can be moved apart without any difficulty. At the same time, the oval shape of the sections is used here, which prevents them from turning due to gravity installed smartphone. The high reliability of the design is evidenced by customer reviews - some of them talk about the accessory falling from a fairly large height.

An interesting feature of the monopod is the built-in flashlight. It is possible that it will be useful to someone, for example, in hiking conditions. It should also be noted that there are several buttons here. This allows, in particular, not only to take a photo, but also to start filming video. In short, this is one of the most reliable and advanced specimens in the Smart Beaver rating! It is also the one that holds the battery charge the longest. Surprisingly, the selfie stick turned out to be not very heavy - its weight does not exceed 114 g.

    Xiaomi Mi Selfie Stick Tripod

    • Folded state: 19 cm
    • Unfolded state: 51 cm
    • Communication type: Bluetooth

Another selfie stick from Xiaomi. It turned out to be very tiny, but at the same time the cost of this model is even higher - it reaches 1,490 rubles. What is this connected with? The fact is that a special design is used here. The accessory is intended for shooting from an outstretched arm only as a last resort. Basically, it will be used by the buyer as a tripod. The handle of this model folds out into three components, as a result of which the monopod turns into a full-fledged tripod, albeit a very small one!

With this design, there was no point for the manufacturer to place the shutter release button on the handle. Instead, the accessory comes with a remote control consisting of just one such button. At the same time, the remote control does not require a battery - it uses a small battery, which needs to be charged via the usual micro-USB connector. Interestingly, the clamp on this tripod rotates freely. That is, you can take a photo not only in landscape, but also in portrait orientation. In short, if you want to get an unusual selfie stick, then a tripod from Xiaomi is the best choice!

    Harper RSB-304

    • Folded state: 22.5 cm
    • Unfolded state: 87 cm
    • Communication type: Bluetooth

It would be stupid to ignore the Harper RSB-304. This is one of the most expensive selfie sticks for smartphones sold in Russian retail chains. You will have to allocate 1,500 rubles to purchase the accessory. The manufacturer asks for this kind of money for an advanced electronic component. The fact is that his creation is equipped the largest number buttons The monopod allows you to take a photo, start recording a video, and even use the zoom! There is also a convenient switch here. With this, you certainly won’t forget to turn off the monopod after shooting, which could cause it to quickly run out of power.

The retractable sections of the selfie stick were made of high-strength metal coated with lightweight plastic. Synchronization with a smartphone is carried out via Bluetooth. By the way, this monopod can be used not only in conjunction with a smartphone. If you remove the clamp, you can access the regular tripod thread. You can attach any photo or video equipment to it. The manufacturer promises that its monopod will support a device weighing up to 3 kg. That is, here we are talking about whether your hand will hold up. By the way, the accessory itself weighs 146 g - perhaps this is its only drawback.

    Bottom line

A selfie stick is a very convenient accessory that can come in handy on any trip. But only if it is chosen wisely! We can only hope that you have carefully read our top list, as a result of which you will not have any problems choosing a monopod.

Despite the simplicity of the device, when choosing best stick For selfies, pay attention to the following features.

Wired monopod with an AUX cable and a button on the handle - the most energy-independent solution. There is no need to charge or monitor the charge of the selfie stick, but for some, the presence of a protruding wire is unacceptable, which, in addition, can be damaged. Wireless with a built-in button and battery - a beautiful, stylish, convenient solution, but a discharged battery can trap you at the most inopportune moment. Option with separate wireless remote control is similar in advantages and disadvantages to the previous one, and the disadvantages include the employment of two hands and the possible loss of the Bluetooth remote control.

Having decided on the type, pay attention to reliability and versatility of fastening for a smartphone that should not wobble even when shaken. IN in this case the presence of rubberized inserts is a good attribute.

Telescopic pipe It is designed to slide out easily, not bend, and at the joints not to rotate under the weight of the smartphone. But monopod head you just need to have freedom of rotation. And finally, you should decide on the dimensions of the “Narcissus stick”: how important portability when folded and maximum retractable length are to you.

Today, you probably won’t surprise anyone with a monopod. Indeed, selfie sticks make it much easier to take great photos without outside help, and what impressive videos advanced users produce! That’s why today we decided to dedicate this post to selfie sticks. Today we will talk about what kind of selfie sticks there are, what these sticks are for, where to buy a monopod and what you need to pay attention to when buying a hand-held “tripod”.

A little theory about Salfie sticks

Basically, monopods are divided into two categories according to their purpose: for smartphones and cameras, but there are also universal ones. From a design point of view, these poles are available: long, short, wired and wireless (working on Bluetooth or WiFi frequency), there are even waterproof ones. Well, if you are going to buy yourself a monopod, then first of all you should pay attention to what it will be intended for.

If you are going to buy a monopod for your smartphone, then first of all you should pay attention to attaching the smartphone to the selfie stick. Next, decide for yourself whether it will be wired (with a 3.5 mm plug that is inserted into the headphone jack) or wireless. In any case, there are pros and cons.

In the case of a wireless selfie stick, you need to take into account the fact that it needs to be infected from time to time, and it may run out of charge at the most necessary moment. Even if this happens, don’t be too upset, as you can always use the timer function on your smartphone. Another important point, such gadgets are afraid of water, on the other hand, who would dive into water with a smartphone, but still.

As for wired monopods, there are some nuances here. A huge plus is that they do not need to be charged and they are not afraid of water (in most cases). But there are also disadvantages: not all monopods will work correctly with a smartphone. All because of the 3.5mm jack, and this is due to its design. For example, selfie sticks designed for iPhone will not work with Android devices, or vice versa. Therefore, before purchasing, you need to check with the seller whether this monopod will work with your smartphone. An equally important point is the wire, which can break over time due to the huge number of bends, but, as in the first case, smartphones have a timer.

Otherwise, when you need a monopod for your camera, in this case I would pay attention to the material from which the selfie stick is made. Why, yes, everything is simple, probably sooner or later you will dive into the water with a camera (this applies to action cameras), and perhaps you will relax at sea. And everything would be fine if it weren’t for the salt. Yes, exactly salt, if the material is not of good quality, your stick will quickly lose its functionality, the material may succumb to corrosion.

Now let's check out the list of the best selling and best monopods. Our rating combines two types of selfie sticks for both smartphones and cameras. And let's start from the end.

    10th place: Tomkas monopod

This selfie stick is very popular among female users, and for good reason. He truly deserves the title best monopod, as it is made of aluminum alloy and silicone handle. When folded, its length is only 18.5 cm, and its maximum length reaches 82 cm, and this weighs only 125 grams. This stick is wired and works with all Android smartphones, as well as iPhone 5 and 6.

    9th place: Tomkas monopod

This gadget is practically identical to the previous one, only it has a more elegant design. The material from which the telescopic tubes are made is aluminum alloy. The handle is rubberized, so it fits perfectly in the hand. The length when folded is 18.5 cm, and when unfolded it is 67 cm. Why is it better than the previous one? Its weight is only 117 grams, without losing its strength. This selfie stick is supported by both Android devices and iPhone.

    8th place: Usams monopod

Unlike previous sticks, this selfie stick has a mirror, which allows you to use the main camera and get more high quality pictures. But it is only suitable for iPhone owners. Nevertheless, it is quite compact; when folded, its length does not exceed 13.5 cm, and it expands to a length of 60 cm, and this does not take into account the smartphone holder. This device weighs 130 grams. Another advantage of the gadget is its water resistance.

    7th place: Vamson monopod

A selfie stick that is perfect for extreme sports enthusiasts. It is designed for action cameras only and can withstand heavy loads. Well, the monopod is made of highly durable material, when folded its length is approximately 18 cm, and when unfolded it reaches up to 60 cm. Since this is a very durable Salfie stick, its weight has increased slightly to 145 grams. The color of the stick is completely black, the only thing that changes color is its cap at the bottom.

    6th place: Sjcam monopod

Another selfie stick designed for action cameras and their enthusiasts. Perhaps many could not even think that the not little-known manufacturer of budget action cameras, Sjcam, has its own selfie stick. Until today, I didn't know either. And yet let’s move on to its main characteristics, and these are: the length when folded is 22 cm, the maximum length is 80 cm and the monopod weighs 130 grams.

    5th place: Vodool monopod

This time we present to your attention another selfie stick for action cameras. This stick does its job well and is loved by GoPro camera owners. Its normal length is 29.5 cm, while its maximum length is 90 cm, but despite its size it weighs 120 grams. The monopod consists of three reliable telescopic tubes. Reliability, low price, versatility all this applies to this selfie stick.

    4th place: Benro monopod

Well, let's move on and now there is a more interesting selfie stick, but the price for it is not low, but I am willing to pay that kind of money for its functionality. Let's start with the price - $19 is its cost. Now why is it worth the money! Firstly, it is 3 in 1: a monopod, a tripod and has a camera control panel. Secondly, it can be used with both cameras and smartphones. Thirdly, for smartphones, there is a mirror on the mount itself (on the back) that allows you to use the main camera. But the benefits of the Benro selfie stick don't end there. The monopod is made of high-quality materials and has an excellent design, the maximum length is 85 cm, and when folded it is 20 cm, and this weighs 200 grams.

    3rd place: Xiaomi monopod

Here we are closer to the top three best monopods. The third place, in our opinion, is occupied by Xiaomi; it turns out that it also has its own Salfie stick. It may not be as functional as the previous one, but according to reviews, it is designed specifically for action cameras, which means it is not afraid of water and will not corrode. Now let's talk about its specifications. The minimum length is 19 cm and it stretches up to 72 cm. This monopod weighs 211 grams, which means that it has a powerful design. The remote control (which, by the way, can be removed) has two buttons: the main one and one for switching modes.

    2nd place: Yunteng 1288 monopod

The second place is occupied by the more professional Yunteng 1288 monopod. So, it also has a removable control panel. The selfie stick is versatile enough to work with action cameras and smartphones. The highlight of this monopod is its length when unfolded - 125 cm, this is the longest stick I have ever held in my hands. Unlike other sticks, its design is so strong that it does not even bend under the weight of a smartphone or camera. He received the title of professional because of his appearance, since it has section clamps, like professional equipment. And not only the appearance gives the title of professional: in the lower part there is a hole for attaching a tripod. In this case, a regular monopod will turn into a tripod. Unfortunately, the kit does not include a tripod. The weight of such a Salfie stick is 300 grams, and when folded it has a length of 42 cm, which is not small.

    1st place: BlitzWolf monopod

The leader of our review of selfie sticks is the BlitzWolf monopod. Many will agree that this is the best monopod for smartphones. If you need a reliable, multifunctional, durable, large and compact at the same time, then this is the BlitzWolf selfie stick. It practically combines all the best from the sticks described above. It is compatible with all smartphones including iPhone and is great for action cameras. The minimum length of the stick is 22.5 cm, and it expands to a length of 90 cm, and it doesn’t weigh much at all - 164 grams. As with the Yunteng, the BlitzWolf can also be used as a tripod by attaching a tripod in advance, which is also not included in the package, but is available.
