    In this article you will find a comparison of all popular models iPhones by size and weight.

    The whole world eagerly awaits the appearance of a new iPhone model, and when this happens, this phenomenon turns into a grandiose event, the news of which spreads throughout the globe.

    • This is what the main news says information channels every country, the Internet is replete with articles about the appearance of a new product, and people on the streets are talking about this only - someone is waiting new gadget on sale, while others simply dream of a new modern phone.
    • This is how the presentation of each model takes place, but the popularity of the previous one does not fade with the advent of a new one.
    • The iPhone is always ahead of other gadgets, and everything matters about it, but buyers are especially concerned about the screen size and dimensions of the smartphone.

    Every year there is a presentation of a new smartphone from Apple, but last year two innovative models from this famous manufacturer saw the light - iPhone 7 and 7 plus. They differ from each other and in technical specifications and in size. If you want to make a choice in favor of purchasing one model or another, then you need to study not only technical parameters gadgets, but also their dimensions.

    iPhone 4 is a device for those people who do not chase new products and prefer proven reliability. Its dimensions are small, but the quality of the filling is not inferior to newer models. In addition, it attracts this smartphone and an affordable price, which, in comparison with innovative gadgets of this brand, remains almost the main criterion for choosing this model.

    Dimensions of iPhone 4:

    iPhone 5 and 5S made from more innovative materials. A combination of metal and ceramic parts was used to create one of these models. Therefore, the weight of these smartphones is much less previous version, which cannot be said about the sizes.

    Dimensions of iPhone 5:

    Dimensions of iPhone 5S:

    The iPhone 6 and 6S models are the same in size, but differ slightly in technical characteristics, but the 6 Plus is superior in size and other indicators. But still, manufacturers did not get too carried away with creating a smartphone with large dimensions, and a phone the size of a tablet would not surprise anyone now. Therefore, everything good in moderation.

    Dimensions of iPhone 6:

    Dimensions of iPhone 6 Plus:

    iPhones 7 and 7 Plus differ in size, weight and screen size. All this is visible to the naked eye. Manufacturers did their best and created a truly real innovation in the field of gadgets. Users of these modern models We have already managed to appreciate all the advantages, but for those who are still choosing the smartphone of their dreams, here are the dimensions for comparison:

    Dimensions of iPhone 7:

    Dimensions of iPhone 7 Plus:

    Any smartphone model from this manufacturer is worthy of attention and respect, but each person makes a choice in favor of one or another parameter. Some people prefer a low price, choosing later models, while others are chasing new technologies, and overpaying a lot of money, choose latest news. Each person is individual, just like the iPhone model. This can be seen from the dimensions; there are almost no identical models.

    Naturally, the dimensions of the phone are of great importance, but the size of the screen is considered no less important. After all, for many of us, a smartphone is both a desktop PC, a home theater and an e-reader. I would like it to be convenient for reading blogs and messages in social networks, watch movies and play your favorite games.

    The diagonal of the phone is used to evaluate the degree of its coolness; the larger the diagonal, but within reason, the better. Accordingly, Apple also has its finger on the pulse and the latest model has a screen diagonal of 5.5 inches. But, if someone prefers a smartphone with a more modest size, then you can choose the model of previous years.

    Nowadays, almost no one measures the diagonal of a phone in centimeters. Everyone is already accustomed to hearing about this parameter in inches, it’s more convenient and clearer.

    Comparison of iPhone 6, 6S, 6 Plus and 7 sizes in centimeters

    If your choice is latest models iPhones, but you can’t decide which one is better and which one to buy, then look at the comparison of the sizes of iPhone models 6, 6S, 6 Plus and 7. The table is presented not in centimeters, but in millimeters, as is customary from the manufacturer. If you want to see the dimensions in centimeters, you will find them above in the article.

    For those iPhone fans who need to choose between the fifth and sixth versions of Apple smartphones, we offer a comparison of the sizes of iPhone 5, 5S and 6, 6S, 6 Plus in centimeters:

    Now that you know the sizes of all popular iPhone models, it will be easier for you to make your choice.

    Video: iPhone 7 vs iPhone 6s – comparison and impressions

    The first point when buying a phone is exactly the size of the screen and how many inches it is. Today we will talk about the screen size of iPhones, because this question interests many.

    In fact, there is a lot of information about this, and since the iPhone is simply a standard among phones, I will be very brief and try to show only the main thing.

    What is the iPhone screen size?

    Apple held its position with small screens for a long time, but the smartphone market finally forced them to change their thinking and now you know how much the most big screen on iPhone. If not, then the following list is for you.

    In it I will talk not only about its size, I will also mention its main characteristics.

    First generation iPhone screen, 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S

    For five generations we have used phones with such small screens. At that time, and this is the period from 2007 to 11, this size was acceptable and was enough for all modern tasks.

    But if you look through the eyes of 2006, these are very small smartphones and you don’t really want to pick them up. There is little content on the screen, and games are generally inconvenient to play.

    • 2G:
    • 3G: 3.5 inches, LCD TFT, resolution 320×480, 163 ppi;
    • 3GS: 3.5 inches, LCD TFT, resolution 320×480, 163 ppi;
    • 4: 3.5 inches, LCD TFT, resolution 640×960, 326 ppi;
    • 4S: 3.5 inches, Retina, resolution 640×960, 326 ppi.

    All these phones have become a very significant part in the development touchscreen smartphones. It was thanks to them that the race for inches and ppi began.

    Screen sizes iPhone 5, 5S, 5C, SE

    The size of these particular phones remains relevant to this day. Here you can find a compromise between ease of control and compactness.

    If you don't have very big hands and you don't like your phone sticking out of your pocket, then you should have one of these smartphones.

    • 5:
    • 5S: 4 inches, resolution 640×1136, IPS Retina display, 326 ppi;
    • 5C: 4 inches, resolution 640×1136, IPS Retina+ display, 326 ppi;
    • SE: 4 inches, resolution 640×1136, IPS Retina+ display, 326 ppi.

    The quality of such screens is quite amazing and has been proven by many users over the years. I think everyone has a friend who prefers this particular screen size.

    iPhone 6, 6S, 6 PLUS, 6S PLUS sizes

    Starting with the number six, the race for inches began in earnest. Now Yabloko could boast that they didn’t have a miniature iPhone, but a real shovel.

    Although, the further the development of smartphones goes, the more the term “shovel” loses its relevance. You won't surprise anyone with your 5-inch phone.

    • 6:
    • 6 PLUS: 5.5 inches, resolution 1920×1080, Retina HD, 401 ppi;
    • 6S: 4.7 inches, resolution 750×1334, Retina HD, 326 ppi;
    • 6S PLUS:

    The screen size has grown significantly and now the iPhone is not miniature at all. You are holding in your hands full-fledged smartphone with a very large diagonal.

    In this generation Apple smartphones I decided to stick to the sizes of the previous two generations. Why come up with something new if the old one works quite well.

    Moreover, now the iPhone is associated with such big inches screens. The time when people were surprised by large iPhones is long gone.

    • 7: 4.7 inches, resolution 1334×750, Retina HD, 326 ppi;
    • 7 PLUS: 5.5 inches, resolution 1920×1080, Retina HD, 401 ppi.

    The appearance of black color in the line made the smartphones more elegant. Now we say goodbye to the Space Gray color with peace of mind.

    Numerous leaks showing appearance Apple's new smartphones were, in principle, correct. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are indeed not very different in appearance from the previous generation models, however, the difference turned out to be much more significant than expected, at least when it comes to workmanship. The Chinese mock-ups of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus still did not live up to the original.

    The first thing that catches your eye is the antenna inserts located on the bottom and top edges of the body. And if on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in silver, gold, pink and even matte black they are still noticeable, and very clearly, then on the “seven” in the color “black onyx” they literally merge with the body and one gets the impression that that there are no inserts at all.

    The glossy “black onyx” color of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus cases was developed by Apple according to completely new technology. The cases are subjected to a precision nine-step anodizing and polishing process, resulting in a clean, mirror-like finish. Apple noted that in terms of the durability of its surface, such a case is not inferior to other anodized products of the company, but with use, small scratches may appear on it. This, of course, was not noted from the stage - information about this was posted at the very bottom of the page with the smartphone on the official website.

    Design new iPhones became more integral, Apple called it unibody. The best way to appreciate the updated appearance of the “Sevens” is again to look at smartphones in “black onyx” color, since only in this color the border between glass and aluminum is practically indistinguishable.

    The dimensions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have not changed at all compared to the previous generation - 138.3 × 67.1 × 7.1 mm in the case of the 4.7-inch version and 158.2 × 77.9 × 7.3 mm in the case of the 5.5-inch. The new items have still lost some weight - the iPhone 7 weighs 138 g, the iPhone 7 Plus - 188 g. The difference with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is 5 g and 4 g, respectively.
    There have been no changes to the front panel in terms of design. Home button in iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus new, touchscreen, but it looks the same as the mechanical version in the previous generation Apple smartphones.

    Displays

    Display resolutions of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus compared to the previous one iPhone generation have not changed - 1334x750 pixels in the case of a 4.7-inch smartphone and 1920x1080 pixels in the case of a 5.5-inch one. However, the displays of the “sevens” are much cooler than those of their predecessors. It's a matter of brightness.

    iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus displays have a wider color gamut for cinematic-quality color reproduction. If we talk about numbers, the displays of the new iPhones are 25% brighter than previous models. And the difference is immediately noticeable.

    Filling

    The new iPhones are powered by the quad-core A10 Fusion processor, the most powerful chip in a smartphone. Two cores of the A10 Fusion are responsible for performance, and two more for efficiency. The result is that the smartphone works with maximum performance when necessary, and with the highest efficiency when there is no such need. If we talk about operating speed, the Apple A10 Fusion is twice as fast as the A8 chip and 33% faster than the A9 processor.

    The iPhone 7, as expected, has 2 GB of RAM, while the iPhone 7 Plus has 3 GB of RAM. The latter needs an increased amount of RAM in order to process pictures and videos created using a dual camera. Otherwise there would be problems.

    The exact capacity of the batteries is currently not disclosed, but according to the official statement, offline mode iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus work in record time. Apple even clarified that the iPhone 7 will last two hours longer than the iPhone 6s, and the iPhone 7 Plus will last an hour longer without charging than the iPhone 6s Plus. Formally, this is, of course, a record, but the announced figures cannot be called a significant increase.

    But where the increase is noticeable is in the amount of built-in memory. Apple got generous and doubled the memory capacity in the new iPhones, and did it for each model. Thus, the basic version of the “seven” has 32 GB of memory, the average one – 128 GB, and the top version – 256 GB.

    Home button

    The Home button in the new iPhones has not changed in appearance, but in its design it is completely different from its previous counterparts iPhone models. Now the main button of Apple smartphones is not mechanical, but touch-sensitive, due to which it has an amazing response speed, as well as sensitivity to pressure.

    Beneath the button is an updated Taptic Engine that provides subtle tactile feedback. In addition, it can be customized to suit your needs, personalizing even such a neutral component as the Home button.

    Audio

    iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were the first Apple smartphones with stereo speakers. The speakers, which themselves have been improved, are not located next to each other, but on different sides housings - top and bottom. This makes the new Apple smartphones twice as loud as the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

    The dynamic range of the speakers has also been increased. Thanks to this, users will be able to better hear the music and voice of the interlocutor when talking on speakerphone.

    Cameras

    The cameras in the new iPhones deserve special praise. The 4.7-inch iPhone 7 Plus has a single camera, as expected. Its resolution is 12 megapixels, aperture ƒ/1.8. What makes it incredibly chic are its features - function optical stabilization images (previously only available in Plus versions), a six-element lens for shooting photos and videos in low light conditions, as well as an expanded color range. The Flash completes the picture True Tone Quad-LED, 50% brighter than iPhone 6s flash. In addition to everything else, Apple made it “smart” - it automatically adapts to color temperature environment, resulting in the clearest pictures.
    A similar camera is installed in the iPhone 7 Plus, but the big “seven” has one “small” addition. The 12-megapixel wide-angle camera is supported by another camera equipped with a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. The dual camera of the iPhone 7 Plus allows you to take close-ups, it has a 2x optical zoom and a 10x digital zoom (sixx when shooting video).

    The camera of the iPhone 7 Plus is as close as possible to the shooting quality of SLR cameras. With its help, users can even create photos with a depth of field effect, where the foreground of the photo remains in focus, but the background is blurred.

    More examples of photos taken iPhone cameras 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, you can find by going to.

    Regarding front camera, then it has also become better in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The resolution of the FaceTime HD camera is 7 megapixels, which allows you to shoot video in 1080p format. The color range of the camera has also been improved, making selfies more realistic and clearer.

    Water protection

    Apple decided to abandon the 3.5 mm audio output for a reason. Thanks to this, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus became the first waterproof smartphones from the Apple company.

    Their degree of protection against splashes, water and dust corresponds to the IP67 index. This means that resistance to harmful factors is not constant and can (and will) decline over time. Throwing your iPhone into the water and meekly watching it float is still not recommended.

    Important note: Damage to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus caused by contact of smartphones with liquid is not covered by the warranty. Everything is the same as before.

    Equipment

    Along with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Apple will supply wired EarPods headphones with a Lightning connector, as well as an adapter from a 3.5 mm connector to Lightning. It’s better not to lose this adapter, since in the official Apple online store it is priced at 799 rubles.

    Demon wired headphones The new generation AirPods are not included with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Quite expected - their price in the store is 12,990 rubles.
