    What is the correct way to measure battery capacity

    It’s worth starting with determining the units in which it is correct to measure the battery capacity. Many consider milliamp-hours (mAh) to be such, which is not entirely true. Only the relative difference in capacity between two batteries of the same type and voltage can be measured in mAh.

    The fact is that electrical power is calculated by multiplying the operating voltage (volts) by the operating current (amperes). The unit of measure for this power is watts. The amount of energy is the power that can be delivered over a period of time (hours). Accordingly, when measuring it, hours are added to volts and amperes. The correct unit of measure for battery capacity is watt-hours (Wh).
