    Minuses

    • Unlimited calls to MTS in Russia is cool, of course, but these calls consume a package of minutes. A little bit of greed.
    • The minutes of calls and SMS included in the package are valid only in the home region, all calls and SMS to other regions, except for calls to MTS, are paid!
    • Unused minutes, SMS and traffic are not transferred to the next month.
    • When connecting / switching to the tariff, a “bunch” of additional options is activated, in particular: GoodOk, they called you! etc. Be sure to turn off services you do not need through your personal account if you do not want to “write off” money from your account.
    • If you insert a SIM card with the My Smart tariff into the modem, Internet access will be blocked.
    • The volume of minutes is equal to the volume of sms. If I call a lot and write little and want to choose 600 minutes and 100 sms? There is no such possibility and I have to pay for services I do not need.

    Once again, they are trying to force subscribers to pay more for fewer services. Eg:

    Everything seems to be correct, they reduced the minutes, added the Internet and the price is almost the same, but on the “My Unlimited” tariff, 300 minutes are valid for calls throughout Russia, and on the “My Smart” tariff - only for calls at home. Feel the difference?

    Have you ever thought about how many remaining minutes, megabytes and SMS messages you burn out every month? Their value increases significantly if you understand what they could be spent on: for longer communication with relatives, downloading games and watching videos from video hosting sites, visiting social networks and sending SMS to your friends. The Tele2 operator has completely transformed all the rules!

    At the end of January 2017, the Russian cellular company Tele2 launched a unique service called “Balance Transfer”. Everything that is paid for will be spent - from now on, the remaining minutes, SMS notifications and traffic unused for the month by the subscriber, provided under the terms of the tariff plan, will not burn out, they will be transferred to the next month. This is a perfect example of a marketing policy based on special offers.

    The terms of this service assume the preservation of unused packages of minutes, SMS notifications and megabytes for Internet access with their transfer to the next month.

    Example:

    If the subscriber's tariff includes 400 minutes, and in 30 days he spent only 200 of them, then the next month he will receive 200 (remainder) + 400 (updated package) = 600 minutes for free communication.

    Similarly, the transfer of unspent SMS messages and the remaining traffic is carried out. At the same time, at the beginning of a new month, those packages that were listed from the previous period will be written off, and only then only newly accrued ones.

    Saving on a mandatory subscription fee and stretching the existing set of packages for 2 months will not work - the rest will be transferred only after the subscription fee for the coming month has been paid. So you still have to replenish your balance.

    Note! The transfer of the remaining packages to Tele2 will not be unlimited - it only applies to the previous month, all earlier remnants are burned out.

    Example:

    When the subscriber used only 100 minutes out of 400 provided, and only 200 minutes next month (after transferring the balance), the remaining 100 minutes are no longer transferred to the third period.

    The transfer of unused packages makes it possible not to lose the paid, using your own cellular more rationally. Saving bonus minutes in one month, in another month, the consumer will be able to spend more time in pleasant conversations with family and friends - without making payments above the norm.

    How the service is activated

    Before connecting the service called "Transfer of balances", let's remember the above - it is compatible only with tariff plans from the "Black" family. The service is already connected to them automatically - no USSD commands need to be entered into the phone. It will not be possible to activate it on other tariffs from the Tele2 mobile operator. In such a situation, there is only one way out - connect to one of the tariff packages of the "Black" line.

    To view the balances by packages, you need to type the USSD command:

    Activation of this service is not available on all tariff plans. The remaining minutes, SMS and Megabytes are subject to transfer to access the network.

    Service restrictions

    The transfer of balances to Tele2 is intended exclusively for current tariff packages. This service is not available for already archived versions.

    This service operates in conjunction only with tariffs from the "Black" family. It is not available on all other tariff plans.

    There are also restrictions on the regions of the country. In many, the service simply does not fully function. But at the moment the list is quite extensive, so we will not consider it. You can view information about these regions on the website of the Tele2 cellular company. But in terms of traffic, the list of areas is small.

    Remaining traffic is not migrated in the following areas:

    • Moscow and region;
    • Novosibirsk;
    • Volgograd;
    • Voronezh;
    • Saratov.

    Example of transferring minutes/sms:

    Internet packages implementation: the balance is transferred to the next month, while the transferred balance cannot be more than the main package and is not summed up with the main package. When transferring the balance of the Internet in the next month, the balance from the previous month is consumed first, then the main quota, and then auto-renewal is turned on. The rest of the Internet from the previous month, which was transferred to the current one, is not transferred to the next.

    An example of transferring Internet traffic:

    1.1. the size of the Internet package included in the UM at the rate is 10 GB

    1.2. the subscriber has 9 GB left from the previous month and they were transferred to the new (current) month

    Today MTS should upgrade its tariffs "-Smart-" and "-Smart---Bezlimitische" to us. Older versions are archived. So far, no change.

    I never understood the obviously inflated activity around this tariff (which was such). It is wretched, expensive and clearly disproportionately tailored. Yes, and anlim there is only relative. For schoolchildren, the subscription fee is too high. For older people - too few minutes. Internet anlim - only for a smartphone, where it is overwhelmingly simply not needed.

    However, the new “-Smart--Unlimited” has also become a hoax, because now there is no Internet unlimited in it at all in any form: stupidly 10 GB per month. Anlim remains only when calling to MTS numbers after the total package of minutes has been exhausted, which we also have on other package tariffs of the operator. Figures for Moscow:

    • Subscription fee - 550 rubles. per month (now charged in full per month and without discounts)
    • 350 minutes to all networks in Russia (was - 200 to numbers only in your region and MTS Russia)
    • Unlimited calls - to MTS Russia (in excess of a package of minutes)
    • 2 times more minutes when calling from MTS Connect (first, the main package from the tariff is consumed, then the additional one, which is provided only through the application)
    • 350- -SMS- -to all numbers in your region
    • 10-GB of internet.

    Tariff "-Smart--Unlimited" works without roaming throughout Russia, however, if you use it outside your "home" network, you will be charged an additional monthly fee of 15 rubles. per day .

    Subscription fee - 500 rubles. per month (decreased by 50 rubles, but in the previous version of the tariff it was 450).

    The "-Smart-" tariff works without roaming throughout Russia, however, if you use it outside your "home" network, you will be charged an additional monthly fee of 15 rubles. per day .

    The new service is aimed at increasing the operator's total income from the subscriber for the entire period of his activity, since the longer the client uses the operator's services, the more revenue he brings to him, explains Tele2 CEO Sergey Emdin. He also expects that the service will improve the discipline of payments for package tariffs. In fact, we are talking about the fight against the outflow of subscribers and for cash flow, because if subscribers do not pay for the tariff on time, this disrupts the operator's economy, said the CEO of Tele2.

    Stays with towers

    Tele2 does not abandon its plans to sell the tower infrastructure, but the proposals to buy the operator are not yet satisfied, Emdin said yesterday. The intention of the operator to sell almost all of its towers - about 10,000 - became known in February 2016. He wants to get at least 25 billion rubles for them, a person close to the company claimed.

    The operator announced the new service during the presentation of his new strategy. It follows from it that Tele2 is going to move away from the "hard discounter" model and focus on the best ratio of price and quality of services. In addition, Tele2 wants to turn from a telecom operator into an "ecosystem of partners" that meet the daily needs of subscribers in other areas.

    One of the objectives of the strategy Emdin called the return of investment to shareholders. In 2015, Tele2 received a negative free cash flow, it amounted to minus 19.1 billion rubles. And starting from the third quarter of 2016, the company stopped publishing financial statements. The time when Tele2 will reach a positive free cash flow is “not far off”, Emdin promised on Wednesday, but warned that given the entry into a new market for the operator, this will happen “a little later”. He did not disclose target indicators of operational results.

    It is known from Rostelecom's financial statements that Tele2 remains unprofitable. The loss of the state-owned company (owns 45% of Tele2) from the operator for the III quarter amounted to 1.3 billion rubles. Rostelecom is dissatisfied with this result, but notes a positive trend: over the previous two quarters, Tele2 brought him 3.5 billion rubles. loss. These are the consequences of the large-scale construction of Tele2 - the operator went to Moscow and built 3G / 4G networks in the regions, top managers of Rostelecom explained.

    Following the launch of the new option, the operator is going to update the tariff line in the near future. Emdin did not disclose their parameters, promising only that they would be more profitable than those of competitors. The provision of “affordable mobile communications to the general population” was one of the terms of a RUB 16 billion concessional loan issued to Tele2 by VTB Bank in 2015 to “launch a fourth mobile operator in Moscow” through a project financing facility. Tele2's new tariffs will not conflict with the terms of the loan, Emdin promised.

    MTS is working on the implementation of the traffic balance transfer service and plans to launch it in the future, said Dmitry Solodovnikov, the operator's representative. The tariffs of Vimpelcom and MegaFon are formed in such a way that the vast majority of subscribers spend exactly the content that is formed in the package, representatives of these operators say. Whether the operators plan to carry over unused minutes and traffic in package tariffs to the next month, they did not disclose.

    The introduction of the service will increase the attractiveness of Tele2, but this will affect the operator's income rather negatively, say Konstantin Ankilov, CEO of TMT Consulting, and Sergey Libin, an analyst at Raiffeisenbank. As subscribers consume more traffic for the same money, ARPU (revenue per subscriber) will decrease. Thus, this news is certainly positive for subscribers, but what it will give to Tele2 shareholders is a big question, Ankilov argues. Despite the announced departure from the discounter model, the operator continues to play on the attractiveness for the client, but other players follow suit, as a result of which the total revenue in the market is declining.

    The demand for the transfer of minutes and traffic causes Libin doubts. The fact is that traffic consumption is usually even from month to month, which means that in order to use up the rest of the traffic and use the traffic of the next month, the subscriber must increase his consumption in one of the months, he says. If he does not do this, then it would be more profitable to simply switch to a cheaper tariff with less traffic. And here the innovation makes economic sense, since the option will prevent some of the transitions to cheaper tariffs.

    If the transfer of unused minutes, sms and gigabytes to the next month will reduce the outflow of subscribers, this will have a positive effect on profitability, Timur Nigmatullin, an analyst at Finam, suggests. By reducing churn, the operator can significantly reduce sales and marketing costs by reducing commissions to dealers (according to the results of 2015, they amounted to 16.5 billion rubles). In addition, profitability growth can be achieved by increasing the average cost of the tariff and moving away from the hard discounter model, he adds.
