• What should I do if, after refilling, the printer does not see the cartridge? Ink cartridges cannot be recognized

    Why does the printer not see the cartridge after refilling? This problem often becomes relevant for users of printing devices. Therefore, it is necessary to know exactly what to do in this case.

    Causes of problems

    In some cases, if the printer does not see the cartridge after the refill procedure, you must resort to flashing the device. Of course, this cannot be done without appropriate preparation. The cartridge is essentially a device with sensors for recording ink levels, so in order for all the components of the device to work correctly, you need to “reboot” the work using a special program. When understanding why the printer does not see the cartridge, users should understand that developers expect that resources for printing production should be purchased one-time, so if they can be refilled, this will significantly reduce manufacturers' profits.

    Some difficulties in the functioning of the printing device

    The printer does not see the cartridge after refilling with ink for several reasons:

    • — the equipment was installed incorrectly;
    • — there was a problem with the power contacts;
    • — the equipment needs to be rebooted;
    • — the device has a manufacturing defect.

    It is easier to solve the problem by reinstalling the device. In the case of contacts, oxidation of the metal by toner could simply occur. If the printer does not see the cartridge, it is recommended to simply clean the contacts with alcohol.

    Often the problem is resolved after a standard restart of the computer. If you just purchased a cartridge, it may not function due to a defect. In some devices, the sensor wires simply burn out when the ink runs out, so a new purchase cannot be avoided.

    If the printer does not see the cartridge, sometimes this is due to the fact that the latter was simply not installed in your printing device. Therefore, your equipment must be marked when transferred to service center to avoid such situations.

    Since the price of a new cartridge remains high and is almost equal to the cost of the printer itself, many users, in order to save money, resort to refilling the ink tank themselves. But, despite the fact that the cartridge is full, in some cases the printer refuses to print.

    Before troubleshooting the cartridge, you must check the cordUSB. Oddly enough, sometimes this cable is the cause of problems. If you don't have a spare cord, try moving all the connectors or connecting the cable to another USB port on your PC. If these actions do not improve the situation, then you need to look for other reasons why the printer does not print.

    Ink has dried out in the nozzles

    U inkjet printers There is one big drawback: after a short period of time, the ink in the print head nozzles dries out. To prevent this from happening, you need to print something all the time, or turn on the printer once every few days (from 3 to 7) so that it “blows out” the nozzles.

    Air got in when refueling

    Air in a cartridge filled with ink will not cause much harm. Unless the paint begins to leak out of it, since there will be no necessary vacuum inside the container to keep the ink from leaking.

    It's another matter when the ink runs out and air gets into the print head nozzles. In this case it is possible drying of paint in the capillaries of the head. Air can also enter and dry out the head if it is parked incorrectly after the printer has finished running. It is important to check that the carriage always reaches the parking space. Only in this case will the nozzles be protected from drying out.

    Air can also damage the print head, especially in Epson printers, since it is non-removable. The problem is that when changing ink tanks, if this is done leisurely, or when installing a CISS when the head is outside the parking unit, the nozzles have time to dry out.

    Ink is not selected correctly

    Some users think that ink is the same for all printer models. But in fact, even for devices of the same brand, ink may differ. The cartridge may not print due to incompatible ink being filled into it, which entails a complete flushing of the print head.

    You should also pay attention to ink expiration date.

    The cartridge is not installed correctly

    Sometimes a situation arises when the printer does not see the cartridge. This is explained by the fact that there are electrical contacts on it, which, when installed, must perfectly coincide with the contacts located inside the carriage. If for some reason there is a contact failure (dust, dried paint), the device will not work normally. It is also necessary to peel off protective film from contacts, if the inkwell is new.

    Some devices, especially MFPs, will not start working until cover open. The cause of equipment failure lies in a special lid sensor. Therefore, if you have installed a CISS, and the cable from it prevents the lid from closing tightly, then this sensor must be blocked, for example, with a piece of foam plastic (blocking methods may differ for different printer models).

    Problems with the chip or diaper counter

    Inkjet printers use two types of cartridges: disposable and refillable. In disposable ones, the manufacturer installs a special chip that blocks the operation of the device after the ink in the container runs out. Even if you pour paint into the reservoir, the chip will still signal that the container is empty. The printer also refuses to print if the diaper counter indicates that it is full.

    A diaper is a place in the device filled with foam rubber, where excess ink from the print head is drained.

    Troubleshooting Brother printers (MFPs)

    To resolve problems with a dried out print head, diaper, chip, etc. There is no universal method, since the design of the devices is different. Different printer models have their own troubleshooting methods. Brother MFPs most often refuse to print after refilling the cartridge due to dried out nozzles or overfilling of the diaper.

    Brother machines use both water-based and pigment ink cartridges. Typically, pigment ink has a “black” cartridge - they become the culprits for clogging the print head if the device has not been used for 3-4 weeks.

    Brother MFPs, unlike other models from different manufacturers, are designed in such a way that the ink tanks are located to the side and connected to the print head via silicone tubes (cables), similar to the cables in a CISS.

    The paint, as usual, dries not in the cable or cartridge, but in print head nozzles (PG). Therefore, you first need to get to the head. In standby mode, this unit is parked in a locked state. If you open the lid, you can see the assembly, but you can’t move it.

    To release the head from the lock, do the following:

    • turn on the device and wait for it to fully configure itself;
    • run a nozzle check with the scanner unit closed;
    • As soon as you hear the movement of the printing mechanism, you should unplug the power cord from the outlet to stop the movement of the carriage.

    Now you can manually move the carriage in any direction. To restore the nozzles, it is necessary that the flushing liquid gets onto them in some way. The simplest method is to use for these purposes parking space:

    • you need to take a napkin and fold it 3-4 times;
    • place the napkin over the entire surface of the mouthguard;
    • heat the washing liquid to 40 degrees and thoroughly saturate the napkin on the mouth guard with it;
    • Using maximum care, move the carriage with the print head to the parking space, so that the napkin does not move and the nozzles are in close contact with the wash;
    • leave the carriage in this position for 5 to 10 hours (it is better to do the procedure in the evening and leave the “soaking” until the morning);
    • if the “soaking” did not give the expected result, then it can be repeated by replacing the napkin with a new one.

    This method is quite effective if the case is not advanced. Otherwise, you will need to contact a service center.

    Diaper reset

    Brother printers do not have sensors that monitor the overfilling of the diaper with waste ink, and therefore the adsorber is controlled at the software level. The calculation is made based on the number of prints that came out of the machine, as well as on the number of head cleanings (forced and regular). After some time of operation of the unit, the program counter determines that it is time for the diaper to be overfilled and blocks the printer, while the message “Cleaning” or “Error 46” is displayed on the device display. To reset the counter, no additional software is required. The device has reset function via service menu. To get into it, do the following.

    1. Unplug the device's power cable from the outlet.
    2. While pressing and holding the “MENU” key, connect the power cable to the electrical outlet.
    3. Wait for the “Maintenance” message to appear on the screen for a couple of seconds. At this moment, you need to have time to remove your finger from the “MENU” key. If that doesn't work, unplug the outlet and do it all over again.
    4. By clicking on “+”, wait until the number 8 appears, then click “OK”.
    5. Using the “+” key, select number 2, and then “OK”. After these steps, you should see the message “MACHINE ERROR” or “MACHINE ERROR 00”. If such a message does not appear, but some other message is displayed, then you will not be able to reset the diaper counter.
    • follow the steps above up to point 3 (inclusive);
    • then use the “+” button to select the number 0 and then press the “OK” button, the image “00:00 XX:XX” will appear, where XX:XX is the time;
    • Now you need to press the “BLACK AND WHITE” key (it, as well as the “COLOR” key, can be found near the “START” button) until the inscription “PURGE: xxxxxx” appears (instead of xxxxxxx there can be any numbers).

    At the next stage, for the inscription “PURGE” you must enter the special code “2783”:

    • Use the “+” key to find the number 2 on the display and press “OK”;
    • further, “+” → “7” → “OK”;
    • “+” → “8” → “OK”;
    • “+” → “3” → “OK”.
    • after this you should see the message “PURGE:00000”;
    • by pressing the “BLACK AND WHITE” key, select “FLUSH: xxxxxx”;
    • repeat all the actions that were done after selecting the “PURGE” inscription;
    • after selecting number 3 and clicking “OK”, you will see the message “FLUSH:00000”, then turn off the printer, unplug it and turn it on again.

    After the counter is reset, the printer will continue to operate. It is also recommended to remove the diaper itself, rinse it and dry it, but this will require disassembling the device. Understanding how to do this will require a separate article.

    Solution for Canon printers

    Printing equipment manufacturer Canon uses 2 types of print heads in its devices: non-removable and removable, located directly on the cartridge.

    Cleaning Fixed Printheads

    Before you start washing this part, you will need to prepare a small container in which the washing process will take place. This could be a saucer, a plastic box with small sides, a photo bath, etc. You will also need: gauze or bandage, a pair of syringes (10 ml), plastic and rubber tubes, which are found in medical droppers. Rubber bands will be needed if a strong blockage is found that cannot be removed by soaking.

    For flushing, it is recommended to use flushing liquid, sold in ink stores. But, since the price of liquids is quite high, you can use household chemicals, namely “ Mister Muscle” (MM) for washing glasses, containing ammonia.

    Please note that the color of the chemical is either green or blue. Other colors of liquid are not suitable for flushing.

    Next, you need to remove the print head itself. Since there are a great variety of devices of this type, each case has its own nuances. A video of the process of removing the head for any printer can be found on the Internet.

    So, when everything is prepared, do the following.

    If a drop of liquid is not absorbed into the grate, leave it to soak for a while. From time to time, remove it with a napkin and reapply. When the napkin stops staining, but the liquid still does not pass through, you will have to use the following washing method, which is used for severe blockages.

    If soaking overnight does not produce results and the liquid in the tube does not drop, you can move on to the next method. But please note that you will be using it at your own risk, since you can completely damage the PG, or more precisely, the nozzles. This is done as follows.

    Important! If you cannot pull the liquid through the nozzles at all, then you should not try to push the liquid in the opposite direction (through the nozzles). This will cause the capillaries to rupture and the head can be discarded.

    It is possible to push the MM through the nozzles only in a situation where at least a little liquid passes through the nozzles during suction. But even in such a situation, it is necessary to have experience in order to feel the permissible force that is applied to the syringe piston. The degree of sensitivity of the capillaries to pressure in different heads may differ, and to reduce the chances of damaging them, it is recommended to use larger volume syringes (10-20 ml), in which air will serve as a shock absorber.

    If applied method of drawing liquid in two directions, then the following nuances should be taken into account:

    • if you use a 10 ml syringe, then the air gap between the piston and the liquid should be about three divisions;
    • at first, lowering the syringe plunger is allowed only by 3 divisions, no more;
    • as the liquid decreases, you can add one division at a time;
    • the pressure on the piston should be smooth, without jerking.

    You should know that complete cleaning of the steam generator with an average degree of blockage takes from one to three days. If the blockage is severe, the procedure may take up to a week. You need to be patient, because the desire to do everything quickly can completely “kill” the head.

    There is another, extreme method of washing nozzles, which is called “ shower”.

    1. Draw MM into the syringe, but without an air gap.
    2. Connect it to the pipe using a tube (from the system) about 20 cm long. This is done so that the pressure is compensated by the length of the tube. In extreme cases, when you exceed the pressure, it will jump off the pipe, splashing liquid all around.
    3. Lift the PG above the saucer and begin to press the piston without much effort.

    The result can be assessed by the way the liquid flows out of the nozzles. If they are not yet completely rinsed, then the stream looks like in the figure below. By the way, this type of jet can be observed when the nozzles are destroyed, which can also be determined visually.

    The following picture shows that the liquid comes out in smooth, thin streams, reminiscent of a shower. This means that the nozzles are well washed.

    Before installing the head into the printer, it is necessary to “drip” it so that it is not dry. To do this, place a few drops of washing liquid into the ink channel grids.

    Don't forget to run a hardware print head cleaning to fill it with ink.

    Cleaning the print head on the cartridge

    This recovery method is suitable for both Canon printer cartridges and HP ink tanks that have a built-in head and look schematically as in the following figure.

    First, you need to determine whether the cartridge is really dry if the printer does not print. To do this, take toilet paper and press it against the bottom of the ink tank, where the nozzles are located. If the ink imprint on the paper is clear, then the head has not dried out. If there is no print or it is weak, then the nozzles need to be soaked. The easiest and fastest way to soak is to apply a few drops of MM to the nozzles. To do this, turn the part upside down with the nozzles, as shown in the figure.

    After 10 minutes, remove the liquid from the nozzle with a napkin and check whether the paint passes through to the paper. If this method does not help, then you can let the part soak for a longer time (2-3 hours) in a container with MM.

    For better penetration of liquid to the nozzles, you can place, for example, a piece of a toothpick under the inkwell so that the nozzles do not touch the bottom of the container, but are immersed in the solution.

    After soaking, you need to wipe the part dry with a napkin, especially the contact group, insert it into the printer and start deep cleaning. Then run the nozzle check test. If you are not satisfied with the result, you can try blow the nozzles through the air intake hole in the cartridge.

    To do this, do the following:

    • cut the medical needle to half and put it on the syringe;
    • in order to ensure a tight fit of the syringe to the body of the inkwell, any soft rubber band should be placed on the needle;

    • insert a syringe with air into the hole of the cartridge and press it tightly so that the elastic band ensures a tight fit;

    • begin to gently push air into the inkwell, after placing a piece of toilet paper or napkin under it;
    • as a result, ink should flow from the nozzles;

    “Color” cartridges that have 3 holes on top are also purged in this way.

    Resetting Ink Control

    Canon ink tanks have a chip installed that counts the amount of ink remaining in them. When, in the “opinion” of the chip, the ink runs out, an error message appears or about an empty cartridge. Therefore it is necessary turn off the counter.

    If Canon PG510 / 440 / 426 ink tanks are installed, then press “OK” in all messages that appear on the device’s display. Press “OK” until a message appears asking you to press the button to enable paper feed. Hold it down for a few seconds and the paint counter will be reset. For other cartridges, the reset occurs after pressing the button with the image of a triangle in a circle for 5-10 seconds. or in the printer settings on your PC.

    We revive Epson printers

    Ink accounting in Epson printers is done by their own software (firmware). Therefore, no matter how much ink you add, the program will consider that the container is empty and block printing.

    To return the device to operation, it is customary to use PrintHelp program, which is freely available on the Internet and is free. In addition, it can be used for most Epson printing equipment.

    Using this program, you can not only reset the ink to zero, but also monitor its quantity. The program is also able to detect the overflow of a diaper and, if necessary, reset it.

    Print head restoration

    To flush the print head in Epson printers, you will need a special cleaning fluid or “Mr. Muscle” for glass. In most cases, There is no need to remove the carriage from the PG, and washing is carried out as follows.

    1. Turn on the device with the lid open, and when the carriage is in the middle, unplug the cord from the outlet.
    2. Remove the ink tanks from the carriage. If you have a CISS installed, then read the instructions for it, which tells you what to do to remove the cartridges.
    3. Manually move the carriage slightly to the right, place a clean napkin on the bottom of the machine, and move the head so that it is above the napkin.
    4. Cut a tube 5-10 cm long from a medical dropper.
    5. Place the tube on the syringe and draw MM into it.
    6. Insert the tube into the hole through which ink flows from the ink tank to the head (the hole leading to the clogged nozzles).
    7. Pour a couple of cubes of liquid into it and wait until it seeps onto the napkin. It is also recommended that the remaining nozzles do not dry out while you are washing one area, and pour liquid into other holes.
    8. Do this procedure several times, changing the napkin.

    Upon completion of washing, do the following: remove the napkin, remove possible drops of liquid from the device, insert the ink tanks into the carriage and, turning on the device, start enhanced cleaning of the PG.

    In a situation where this method of restoring the head did not help, you will have to remove it from the printer and use the restoration methods that were previously described for the removed head of a Canon device.

    Restoring HP printers

    To clean the print head in HP printers, located on a cartridge or free-standing, the method that was described for Canon printers is suitable.

    Resetting the ink counter

    It's no secret that HP 121, 27, 28, 56, 57, 21 and 22 ink tanks are refillable. In this case, you need to be careful and not allow the ink to be completely depleted by refilling it on time. When the chip determines that the ink is running out (but there is still paint), a message is issued about this: an exclamation mark appears next to the problem ink tank. In this case, you need to click on “Continue”, thereby disabling paint level monitoring. The disadvantage of this method is that you will not be able to see the ink levels.

    If you do not add ink after this and continue to print, then after it is used up, a sensor that determines the actual amount of ink will work and block the operation of the printer and the chip itself. And a cross will already appear opposite the cartridge. If this happens, you will have to replace the chip or ink tank. Although there are several ways reset the chip to display the paint level.

    Place the inkwell on the table with the contacts facing up and do the following.

    The meaning of these manipulations is this: four different cartridges are replaced, after which information about the identifier of the refilled ink tank is erased from the device’s memory, and it, inserted fifth, is considered as new. After this, the printer will assume that there is paint and display its level in the containers.

    The second method is suitable if the first one was ineffective:

    • seal the first contact, insert the inkwell into the machine, and print the test as in the first method;
    • Without removing the sticker from the first contact, you need to glue three contacts with a rhinestone, as shown in the figure;

    • insert the part into the machine and print the test;
    • remove all stickers and return the ink tank to its place, remembering to clean the contacts with alcohol.

    First, it should be clarified that a similar problem can occur if the ink in the cartridge runs out the first time after its purchase. This is especially true for color cartridges. You can solve this type of problem yourself, the main thing is to correctly determine the cause of its occurrence.

    Companies that create printers have made their devices on such a principle that if you refill the cartridge yourself rather than buy a new one, the printer may not recognize it. Use the instructions below to resolve the issue.

    Epson does not see cartridges - the most popular ways to solve the problem

    On the Internet you may come across the following ways to solve the problem:

    • reinstall the “firewood” (that is, all settings);
    • hold the print cancel button for a long time (more than 6 seconds);
    • after holding the cancel button, immediately order the copying process;
    • clean the contacts with an eraser;
    • use the replacement cartridge service;
    • buy a new cartridge if printing is not done.

    Sometimes it just turns out that the charging status is only recorded on the new device. Therefore, there should be no further problems. But in some situations, if you refill the cartridge, printing will indeed not occur. In this case, only purchasing a new device will help.

    What should I do if my Epson printer does not recognize the cartridge?

    Visually check the contacts of the chip and the chip itself to see if it is misaligned. Make sure there is no plastic residue on the chip. If there is any, carefully remove it with tweezers. When refueling, many manage to stain the contacts of the CISS chip, or simply grab it with their hands, as a result of which the chip loses its electrical conductivity. The solution is to wipe the chips with alcohol and an eraser before installation.

    The battery powering the chip is dead

    This type of problem is especially common on Epson SX models, since the cartridges of these printer models are usually produced with chips that are powered by special batteries. If the battery runs out, the cartridge may not be detected by the device.

    Epson cartridge is not detected - the main reasons

    1. After replacement, the cartridges are not fully inserted (usually a characteristic click is heard when installed correctly), which is also the reason that the Epson TX117 printer, as well as other models, do not see the black cartridge.
    2. We replaced it with an incomplete set of cartridges that needed to be refilled. The device works normally only if you have a full set of consumables.
    3. The software “zeroing” did not occur after refilling the cartridges, the software drivers did not work properly. This is often the reason why the Epson printer does not see the cartridge after refilling.

    When one or another equipment breaks down, many wonder which service center to choose. Now the list of companies that do repairs is quite large and does not stop growing. Therefore, the choice is quite large.

    In this article I will try to give some tips on what you should (or shouldn’t) pay attention to when sending your equipment in for repair. After all, the amount of money, time and nerves you spend directly depends on the right choice.

    1. You should not pay attention to the respectability of the premises for receiving equipment, the number of staff and other little things. You have to pay rent for the extra square meters, and the reception girls have to be paid a salary. So the prices for services need to be raised somewhat. Of course, there are exceptions, but they are few. I do not encourage you to give your favorite laptop or printer to a semi-basement room to an incomprehensible person who is a foreman, a receptionist and the director of a company. But a small company, in which one, but intelligent person works at the reception, should not be dismissed outright.

    2. Check whether you pay for diagnostics if the technician was unable to repair the device or if you refused repairs. The requirement to pay for diagnostics in case of failure is quite normal; the technician spent his time working with your equipment. For example, I only do not charge diagnostic fees if I cannot repair the device or the repair costs more than half the price of a new one.

    3. Check whether you pay for spare parts ordered by the technician if the item could not be repaired. If yes, run away from this service. You should not pay for the technician’s mistakes just because he did not correctly identify the breakdown and ordered the wrong spare part.

    4. It would be a good idea to inquire about the maximum repair time. Also make sure that they contact you and give you the full cost before the repairs begin. Otherwise, you risk receiving a bill, for example, 80% of the price of a new device. And, since the repairs are completed, it will be very difficult to prove anything.

    5. Read the repair receipt carefully. If you have agreed on some conditions, but others are indicated on the receipt, your verbal agreements have no force. Also pay attention to the description of the defect, appearance and configuration of the device. If something indicated is incorrect, this will enable the service center to return the device in a different configuration than in which you delivered it, with mechanical damage or with another defect. For example, you delivered a laptop with the defect “No sound”, but the receipt states “Does not work”. The service center may give you your laptop, which no longer turns on.

    6. It wouldn’t hurt to ask for a list of spare parts and their costs before starting repairs and compare them with prices on the internet. In this case, a markup of up to 40 percent is allowed. Many parts come without a warranty or may be damaged during installation. You also need to take into account the cost of delivery. Therefore, the SC should leave some reserve in terms of cost. But if the prices differ by 2-3 times, it’s worth considering.

    You can also look at reviews on the Internet about a specific service or find out what service centers are in your region. For example, enter “Printer repair in Minsk” into the search. Just don’t forget, there will definitely be negativity. It is necessary to evaluate not the presence of negativity, but its quantity.

    In any case, make the right choice and good luck to you!

    Greetings, dear visitors. Quite often I am asked how to extend the life of a Canon cartridge or print head.

    Let me make a reservation right away: first of all, we are talking about ink cartridges for Canon printers. Such as CL-511, PG-510, CL-446, PG-445, CL-441, PG-440 and others. That is, we are talking about ordinary inkjet printers and MFPs that have two cartridges. For example MP280, MP230, MG2440, E404, MG3540 and others. But this also applies to Canon printers that use a print head and ink tanks.

    Let's figure out how printing occurs with these printers. I warn you right away that I will present the principle of printing in a very simplified manner.

    The cartridge has an absorber - a sponge that contains ink. From this sponge they are fed into the nozzles (nozzles). Nozzles are tubes of very small diameter. Each tube contains one or more thermoelements. During printing, the thermal elements heat up, the ink boils (an air bubble is formed) and “shoots” onto the paper. I repeat, I described it very simply.

    What happens if there is no ink in the nozzles? The thermoelements will still heat up. And the ink in the nozzles is also used as a coolant. Overheating will occur - the tubes (nozzles) will become deformed and/or some of the thermoelements will fail.

    After which the cartridge will print poorly in some colors, or will not print at all.

    I think the answer to the question “How to extend the life of a cartridge?” obvious - you need to make sure that there is always ink in it.

    What about those who refill cartridges? After all, after the first refill, it no longer shows the ink level. There is a simple rule. If you need to print something, but you are not sure that you have enough ink - . It can't get any worse. And perhaps this will save him.

    If you expect that thanks to this advice, your cartridge will work forever, then you are mistaken. It will definitely burn. Why? Yes, because, according to the manufacturer, it is disposable (the statement does not apply to print heads using ink tanks). The main task of the manufacturer is to ensure that it is guaranteed to print the ink poured in from the factory, and then fail as quickly as possible. Yes, the manufacturer wants to do business with consumables, he also wants to eat :)

    But I hope this article will help your cartridge last longer :)

    Canon printer does not recognize the cartridge after refilling: what to do?
    Today we will tell you several typical causes of this problem and also tell you about ways and methods

    The printer does not recognize the new cartridge

    The contacts on the printer and cartridge were not installed correctly. Try reinstalling the cartridge again as described in its instructions. Is the problem still there? Most likely, the contacts on the print head or on the printer are loose. Try cleaning them with alcohol and cotton swabs. It is also recommended to keep the contact strips of the chips clean.
    Canon printer does not recognize cartridge

    Many printer manufacturers do not recommend refilling yourself with cartridges whose ink you bought yourself. It is encouraged to buy new cartridges immediately after the old ones have run out. Modern cartridges have chips designed to regulate ink levels. As soon as the ink runs out, the cartridge is automatically blocked. The blocking cannot be removed immediately after filling with new paint. The process is not done automatically. Each cartridge model has its own methods to remove blockages.

    Why does a Canon printer show that it is empty after refilling a cartridge?

    The question very often arises: why does the Canon printer not see the cartridge? Failure to detect paint does not mean that it has run out. The printer warns you when it is finished, reset the ink level, or it happens that the Canon printer does not see the cartridge after refilling.
    Cleaning consists of two stages:
    software reset of waste ink levels from a computer via a USB cable. If the Canon printer does not recognize the cartridge, you need to clean it. The specific step-by-step instructions for resetting the paint depend on the specific model;
    physical cleaning or replacement of felt.

    To reset ink for a certain type of printer that does not use chip cartridges, do the following combination:

    turn on the printer with the “sheet feed” and “change/clean cartridge” buttons pressed simultaneously;
    the printer will signal with three lights, press the “change/clean cartridge” button;
    hold it in this position for two to ten seconds (depending on the printer model);
    it will signal again with all the lights and reset the diaper counter.

    What to do if the Canon printer does not see the cartridge after refilling

    The absorber (diaper) is a sponge part made of highly hydroscopic material located at the bottom of the printer. It is designed to absorb waste ink during printing and clean the print head.

    Removing diapers from the printer is a labor-intensive task. It requires almost complete disassembly of the device. Don't try this without experience in this type of work.
    Cartridge alignment ensures optimal print quality:
    remove the cartridge from the printer;
    Cover the upper left contact with electrical tape and insert the cartridge into the printer;
    clean and adjust;
    remove the cartridge again. Cover the right contact with electrical tape;
    insert the cartridge into the printer with two contacts sealed and make adjustments;
    remove it from the printer, remove the electrical tape from both contacts and check the cleanliness of the contacts;
    insert the cartridge into the printer.

    If the work done is completed accurately, the printer will see it and begin to work normally with it.
    The Canon printer does not recognize the cartridge and displays an error. The problem is most likely either in the chip and its contact with the printer, or in the failure of the additional light sensor (for Pixma inkjet printers). The options here are:
    Problems with the chip itself.

    Cartridge design defect. Relevant only for non-original consumables from third-party manufacturers.
    Problems with the printer contacts that read the chip data.
    The ink or toner is low. Check your ink levels before you look deeper into the problem.
    In cases where the cartridge is guaranteed to be new and original, you should refer to the instructions or consult with official Canon technical support. We will only point out common mistakes:
    The cartridge was installed incorrectly. As a rule, original cartridges are inserted easily and until they click.

    The cartridge compartment cover was not closed completely. But you should not make excessive efforts to avoid breakdowns.
    They forgot to remove the protective yellow film from the inkwell.
    If you did not buy the cartridge from official dealers, it is quite possible that this is a fake. An analogue from a third-party manufacturer sold under the guise of an original, or a “refurbished” cartridge (i.e., a used original refilled by a third-party company). In both cases, the problem is most likely in the chip.
    The printer does not recognize the safety valve. Reasons:
    1. The cartridge is not fully inserted.
    2. Cartridges were not replaced correctly.
    3. The chips are dirty.
    4. The chip is installed unevenly.
    5. An empty shut-off valve is installed.
    6. Ink level monitoring is disabled.
    7. The LED signal is not read.
    8. Chip malfunction.
