• Drivers for hp deskjet f380 printer. Install drivers for HP DeskJet F380. Why do you need to update drivers to the latest versions?

Comment: I used this MFP about a year ago. Now I just changed it to a newer and more productive one. But I can say that I had almost no complaints about him. I bought it for about 450 UAH. and he fully justified and worked off this money. Of course, he cannot boast of any superpowers. But for that kind of money you can’t ask for more from him. But he looks good on the outside. It's a little white box. It is very compact, so even on my cluttered desk I found a place to put it. It is even more convenient that the paper is accepted and exited from the front side, so it can be safely pushed into a corner under the wall. There is a scanner on top. In general, it scans well, just very slowly and loudly. And the scanner lid is very thin and light, so sometimes you even had to press it with your hand if you were scanning some brochures or thin books. To be honest, I didn’t have to scan hardcover or thickcover books, so I can’t say anything about that. There is a small control panel next to the scanner lid. There are few buttons, but they are all arranged according to task groups and are clearly and clearly labeled. There are power buttons, cancel buttons, for specifying the number of copies, for direct copying in color or grayscale, printing a document or picture, and starting scanning. There is a printer hole on the front side. It is closed with a lid that serves as a paper holder. It is convenient if the printer sits idle for a long time, then dust and any extraneous pens or pieces of paper do not collect inside. The paper receiving tray is designed for a maximum of 100 sheets, or even less. This is certainly not enough. There have been cases where sheets had to be added during the printing process. And if you still didn’t calculate and there weren’t enough sheets, then the document was put in a queue and only a reboot of the computer saved you. Otherwise, the printer did not respond even to the paper that appeared and the print restart commands. Sometimes it was just infuriating. Especially when you’re already late, and then there’s this gift. So my advice is to have plenty of sheets. The prints come out on the same side and simply lie on top of the blank sheets. By the way, even the instructions indicate that it is better to remove the prints immediately, and not after printing is completed. Of course, I haven’t experimented, but there is a certain possibility that it may pull in the finished sheets along with the blank ones, or the printing will simply break. Also a drawback. But it's easy to adapt to. Regarding the print quality, I can say that it is good when printing texts. But it prints photos very poorly. It simply does not have enough color rendition, so colors are distorted and transition stripes and multi-colored dots are clearly visible. In general, it’s better not to waste paint (and it takes a lot for one photo), but to go to the laboratory and print it. It will be even cheaper if you take into account the rather expensive cartridges. By the way, it is better to print texts in fast and economical mode. This way it prints faster and the sheets literally fly out onto the table and the prints come out good. And in normal mode it prints slower and very bold. The text may even be illuminated to the other side. And accordingly, more paint is wasted. And another piece of advice for installation is to do everything strictly according to the leaflet. If you turn on the printer earlier than the installation program requires it, then it simply will not be recognized and even installing firewood will not help. True, installing the software takes quite a long time, especially if the computer is connected to the Internet, it will ask three hundred times whether you need to download updates. And if you agree, you will have to wait another half a day for communication with the server. And at the end he will say that you already have the latest version of the software.

The HP DeskJet F380 is a small desktop inkjet printer from the HP All-in-One series, combined with a scanner and capable of being used as a copier. In other words, this is a classic MFP, that is, a multifunctional device. Among its main features are the high speed of printing black and white pages in A4 format - up to 20 pages per minute and high resolution for color printing - 1200x1200 DPI, which is quite enough for printing 10x15 photographs in maximum quality. In copier mode, the user has access to zoom tools - the MFP allows you to enlarge scanned pages up to 200% and a number of other settings. Copy speed also reaches 20 pages per minute. The scanner supports a resolution of 1200x2400 DPI, 48-bit color depth and scanning speed for a black and white A4 sheet - 24 seconds and color - 48 seconds.

For the device to function properly in Windows, it needs a driver, a special program that ensures interaction between the operating system and the device, as well as a program with a graphical interface for “communication” between the user and the MFP. On this site you can download the driver for the HP DeskJet F380; to do this, go to the “Files” section, select your operating system and download the installer.

A driver is a connecting component between a computer and a printer. This program provides the ability to transfer data from a PC to peripheral devices. Without installing such software, the operation of the printer and any other peripheral device is impossible. You can download the driver for the printer on our website.

    Why are drivers needed?

All external devices and internal PC components require special software. The functions of printer management utilities are:

    • Processing read-write data and queuing requests.
    • Checking print parameters and processing them for errors.
    • Checking the status of printers and initializing devices in the system.
    • Energy consumption management.
    • Registration and accounting of printer print files.
    • Issuing commands to control the printer.
    • Checking the status of operations and their completion.

If you purchased a printer, it usually comes with a software disc. But over time, this disk is lost, and the programs recorded on it become outdated. Do you want to install the latest printer driver? Use this directory.

Our site managers daily post the latest versions of drivers for all popular models of printing devices.

Why do you need to update your drivers to the latest versions?

Using the latest version of such software provides the following advantages:

    • Stability. Unlike outdated drivers, new versions of such computer programs are more stable. Using them, you will have fewer problems with your computer and printer.
    • Improved printer performance. The latest version of free printer drivers collected on this site have the best functionality and have various improvements. Developers can include improved energy saving, increased data processing speed, etc. in the new version of the software.
    • Performance. Each subsequent driver version has better performance. This is the first parameter that developers pay attention to when creating a new version of such a program.
    • Safety. Some hackers use drivers to gain access to their victims' computers. When creating new versions of such programs, developers add protection and increase the security of their utilities.

Printing errors are not always related to the printer. They can also occur when outdated drivers malfunction.

When do you need to update drivers?

It is necessary to update printer drivers if a problem occurs in the operation of the device. Such problems can manifest themselves in different ways. For example, the printer completely refuses to print or the operating system “refuses to see it.”

Before downloading files, compare the version of your driver with the current version on our website. If they match, then there is no point in updating the program.

The driver needs to be updated after reinstalling Windows. Your installation disk may not have the latest version of the printer control utility. Therefore, after installing and configuring the operating system, you need to go to our website and download drivers for printers on Windows 7, 8, 10. Choose the version of this computer program that is suitable specifically for your OS version.

    How to install drivers?

To install or update control utilities for printers, you must be able to work with drivers. To do this, you need to call the “Control Panel”. You can do this using the "Start" button. In the menu that appears, click on the required line.

In the Control Panel, find the printer you need. Using the right mouse button, bring up the context menu and click the “Update driver” button. After that, tell the system the location of the downloaded file.

You can also update the printer control utility manually. To do this, extract the files from the downloaded archive and run the installation file. In a few minutes, the driver will be installed and you will be able to take advantage of its functionality.

    Possible driver problems

A driver is an important and integral part of a computer system. A failure in such a computer program could cause the device controlled by the driver to stop responding to requests from the operating system and crash.

Another problem that a computer owner may encounter is a driver conflict. This can affect the operation of not only the printer, but also the PC. Everyone knows about the Blue Screen of Death. One of the reasons causing this problem is driver conflict. You can solve this by rolling back the driver to the latest stable version. On our website you can download proven printer drivers that will help improve the performance of your devices for printing documents.

In this article we will get acquainted with HP's budget printing device - the DeskJet F380 multifunctional machine costing less than $100. For devices that combine several functional units, this price is very affordable. Of course, you shouldn't expect outstanding results from the F380. But for those who do not place high demands on printing speed and the autonomous properties of the copier, but choose a “machine” for solving educational or production tasks (home office), this solution is more than interesting.

The device is quite compact and has a nice appearance. A simple-looking “rectangular” plastic box allows you to start working almost immediately after unpacking and installing it into the system, bypassing the not-so-pleasant and tedious procedure of studying the instructions. Everything is extremely simple and clear. The only thing you will have to spend a few minutes of precious time on is getting to know the scanning program interface. In our opinion, the program menu (given the simplicity of the scanner) could be made with a significantly smaller number of settings, and some of the remaining ones could be reduced to the well-established “auto” mode. After all, the cost of the device is just right for this.

We don’t argue that for users discovering the issue of scanning for the first time, functions such as restoring faded colors or removing dust and scratches from the scanned material, removing moire, mirroring, inverting colors, darkening and brightening light/dark areas will seem like the height of perfection and will take away a significant part of the time for experiments, making you forget about the main task of the scanner. But it's time to put the dots in the right places. For those who have had close experience with scanners, our skepticism is understandable. After all, not only the image processing program plays a decisive role in the application of the above “goodies”, but also the scanner itself, which transfers the digitized image to the computer. Installing the device into the system, as usual, is simple and straightforward. This does not require any special preparation and will take no more than ten minutes. After this, we get a scanner and a printer that can work not only in pairs, but also separately.

The flatbed scanner is built on the basis of a CIS sensor and allows scanning with an optical resolution of up to 1200 dpi. The movement of the scanning element is accompanied by a distinct buzzing sound, but with an increase in scanning resolution and, as a consequence, a decrease in the speed of movement of the carriage, the noise decreases to a quite comfortable rustle. The scanner copes well with text documents, but not so well with photographs.

If you look at the scanned image more closely, you will notice a rather strange “stitching”, a kind of shift by one pixel. Most likely, this shift can be explained by the uneven speed of movement of the scanning ruler, since jerks occur at equal intervals.

Only five buttons are responsible for the operation of the copier, two of which are equipped with LEDs. The buttons are located to the left of the scanner cover, on the general control panel. You shouldn’t count on the copier to fully operate as an independent device, but it performs a number of simple operations quite successfully. Using the buttons, you can set the number of copies (up to nine), select the scanning type (text or color text and graphics), and set the color (black and white or color). I guess that's all. Other tricks are only possible programmatically.

Although you can select colored text and graphics from the menu and try to copy a photo, the results are mediocre. There are no complaints about copying documents or simple graphics.

    Cartridge life

The printer, the basis for constructing this MFP, is hidden deep in the case. There is no public access to the printing mechanism, and it will not be possible to view it in all its glory. The DeskJet F380 does not have the usual folding top, when the scanner rises like the lid of a chest, opening a good overview and access to the mechanism. To change cartridges, you need to fold back the special cover at the top of the receiving and feeding tray and place almost your entire palm inside the device. This is not to say that this is very inconvenient, but you have to act almost blindly.
