• Dying Light has received a patch with an increased difficulty level and “golden” weapons. Dying Light "nightmare level" Dying light nightmare difficulty level reward

As the developers from Techland promised, their very successful zombie horror game Dying Light today received a fresh patch, the main character of which is an increased level of difficulty. The update also adds new costumes, blueprints and the highest - gold level of rarity of weapons to the game. It is assumed that "gold" can play a decisive role in the higher difficulty mode.

And now more details. The increased difficulty mode can be selected both when starting a new game, and at any convenient time during an already started playthrough. At the same time, the difficulty can be switched back if the player feels that he cannot cope. The increased difficulty is manifested in the doubled length of the night and the absence of enemy indications on the mini-map, which introduces an element of real horror and risk. The infected in this mode are more difficult to kill, and they themselves cause more damage to the player. There are now many more zombies running towards the sound, so it is advisable not to make direct contact. Energy (“stamina”) is restored very slowly in higher difficulty mode, and first aid kits do not heal wounds instantly, but gradually.

With the update, about two dozen new costumes arrived, most of which are so-called national ones, made in the colors of the corresponding flags.

“Golden” weapons, as the developers report, are very difficult to find, but the search is completely worth it, since these weapons not only deal more damage, but are also much stronger, thanks to which they can withstand more blows. Such weapons are also much more resistant to repair.

Techland studio is releasing The Following add-on for Dying Light with the "Nightmare" mode. The new nightmare difficulty level will provide gamers with more opportunities to gain experience and special items.

    Features of "Nightmare"

The peculiarity of the mode is to limit the use of powerful weapons and punish players for death. The night in this mode will last longer, and the zombies will hit much harder and upon death, XP will be reset to the previous level. On the other hand, if you start playing in co-op mode, this will give you a bonus to XP, and powerful weapons will appear more often.

    Dying Light Producer Comments

According to producer Tymon Smektala, "Nightmare" is intended for people looking for a "truly challenging and immersive gaming experience."

"We're trying to create an immersive experience so that the player will have the experience of surviving in an apocalyptic world, where every move will determine his life or death," Smektala said. “If you set yourself the goal of success, you will earn XP faster (especially when playing co-op) and increase your chances of finding a powerful weapon,” the producer explained to Techland.

Nightmare mode is included in Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition, which will be released on February 9 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It will also be available for purchase separately.

“There are about 7 Kings in the inventory right now” - seriously? Without leaving the Slums (27%)?
“Also, I never use drawings,” this is clear, because the game is such an arcade game that: “besides, I die pretty well.” Interest is lost already when you spent about several dozen hours in the Slums (27%, what could you do? Farm on airdrops, sleep during the day and run at night / save people?). Further, according to the plot, airdrops stop; if you had followed the plot evenly and in a balanced manner, performing some research and quests in parallel, there would not have been these “tens, or even hundreds of thousands of points.” For the plot you will need level 25 and maximum pumping, you are only at the beginning of your journey, but are already almost at the maximum. Not interested? No wonder.
Are you playing with friends? If it's solo, I don't envy you how much "fun" you have :D
Deaths are different and random. If you take 10k points of all three characteristics, it’s not far from giving up this business with pumping, and so, the motivation and incentive to become better (in any case) pushes you to take risky actions and, as a result, ending very tragically.
Take away 15-20% of money? At the moment I have $140,000 and a stash full of things that I no longer sell, but put away (80+ items of different types). At the same time, I save and sometimes spend money and exchange things with a friend. The best weapons and equipment at the time of the game can only be purchased from merchants (purple and orange items). The things you find will always be inferior to the “modern” ones available from merchants. Blueprints and weapon upgrades come to the rescue, but they will not reach the level of weapons that can only be purchased by spending cash. Now merchants have decent devices for $16,000+, if you buy the most powerful weapons for all slots (4) - $64,000, but what if you buy more than once? A friend had almost $100,000, left 17, he doesn’t save and doesn’t skimp on the “fun” of weapons, because fun plays a big role in our field of activity: D Tests can be entertaining (you can set their frequency in the settings), and the arrival of night hunters can be made not night at all, it will be hardcore for you.

"- Very much reduce the amount of supplies found, including money.
    - Make at least 70% of the containers empty, so that you have to buy and search for parts for crafting.
    - Significantly increase the damage of zombies, especially night ones, so that forays are dangerous and you have to play in stealth, use various means (including crafting) to survive, and not just run like mad at the beginning, occasionally wrapping yourself in a first aid kit, and in the end just break through crowd with a pumped up katana." - All this is planned in the upcoming HardMode.
There is a mod for regulating day and night, it’s true, I don’t think it’s a big problem.
"- Allow a maximum of one use of the cat with a long cooldown, so that our gg stops being Spider-Man, and greatly reduce the capture distance." Our hero is more of a CatWoman (Have you played Arkham City?) :D This may be necessary, however, everyone decides for themselves how to move. If a cat is too easy for me, and I prefer parkour, I move in parkour.
“Of course, it would be great if you had to eat, drink, sleep, get antizine to suppress the infection, but this can hardly be done here, not Skyrim =/” - Not Skyrim... Not so sandbox. This is not DayZ (a bug simulator with Jewish developers), after all. Within reason, everything was implemented, I think, at the highest level.

Very soon, thanks to the Dying Light: The Following expansion, we will travel to the countryside near the city of Harran to finally continue our adventures. The guys from Techland are trying to set an example for other game developers, so they release not only an add-on, but also improve the main game, introducing additional entertainment functionality into it. In a new video, Techland shared another piece of detail about the upcoming update-addition.

In this video we were told about the “Nightmare” mode (or “Nightmare mode”). This is a kind of hypertrophied version of the increased difficulty mode of Dying Light: increased duration of the night, stronger mutants, and a significantly reduced role of the mini-map. In Nightmare mode, all active abilities consume stamina, so you need to be careful when swinging a two-handed ax, imagining yourself to be Rambo, Terminator and Rocky in one bottle. Each death in Nightmare mode completely resets experience points beyond your current level. That is, if you earn, for example, 239 thousand experience points out of the required 240 thousand to reach the next level, and then die absurdly, you will lose these same 239 thousand experience points. It's a shame, isn't it? In short, choose the “Nightmare” mode only with relaxed nerves, otherwise you will have to buy new keyboards, mice or, in particularly advanced cases, monitors...

But there is also a huge plus in the “Nightmare” mode, which, theoretically, will push players to use it. In this mode, experience points are earned much faster. And you really need to earn them, because, if you remember, in the updated version of the game there will be legendary levels, to obtain which you will need to spend tons of experience. In addition, the developers recommend that we play together with friends, because each partner who joins your game will generate an additional 10% experience, and so on, up to a 30% bonus when playing together with three friends.

We remind you that The Following addition, along with the game update to Enhanced Edition status, will be released on February 9, that is, very soon. All season pass holders will receive the add-on automatically.
