The classic Yandex.Disk program allows you to work with Disk files on your computer and automatically synchronizes all changes with Disk via the Internet.
Limitation. The Yandex.Disk program can be installed on the following operating systems:

Download the program on the page. When the file starts downloading, the page will display startup instructions.
After installation, the program icon will appear in the Windows tray (notification area).
The Yandex.Disk program will prompt you to enter the login and password of your Yandex account. While you are not logged in, an exclamation mark is displayed on the tray icon.
If you are not yet registered on Yandex, follow the link Register and register. Then enter your username and password in the program.
Attention. If you use or have previously used two-factor authentication, to authorize in the Yandex.Disk program you need a one-time password generated by the Yandex.Key mobile application.
Selecting a Drive folder location
The Yandex.Disk program automatically creates a folder in which a copy of your Disk will be stored. You can configure its location on your computer immediately after installing the program. To do this, click the button Set folder location→ Edit and select the desired folder.
Note. If there is not enough space on your computer for the entire Yandex.Disk folder, the program will warn you about this. You can set up selective synchronization or select a different folder for Drive files.
If you skipped this step, you can configure the folder location in another way:
Working with files and folders
To upload files to Disk, just copy or move them to the Yandex.Disk folder. For example, open a folder in Explorer (click the icon in the program menu) and drag the necessary files into it. After synchronization, the moved files will appear on the server. You can open the Drive page and make sure that all files have been successfully downloaded.
Files that you delete from the Yandex.Disk folder will be moved to the Trash on the server. These files are stored in the Recycle Bin for 30 days, after which they are automatically deleted from the server. Files deleted from the server cannot be recovered.
Note. Files moved to the Recycle Bin continue to take up space on your Disk. If you don't have enough space, empty your Trash.
To empty the Recycle Bin on Disk, open the Yandex.Disk folder, right-click on the Recycle Bin and select the item from the menu Yandex.Disk: Empty Trash.
Right-click on the desired file or folder. In the menu that appears, select Yandex.Disk → Copy public link if it's a folder, or Yandex.Disk: Copy public link if this is a file.
Click the Drive icon in the tray (notification area).
Share folder
Open the Yandex.Disk folder and right-click on the desired folder. In the menu that appears, select Yandex.Disk: Set up sharing.
The program will open the access settings page in your browser. On this page, you can select friends you want to share access with and define their rights.
Automatically upload photos and videos to Drive
You can automatically upload all your photo and video files to Drive from any electronic media (camera, smartphone, memory card, etc.) and store them in the “Camera” folder or in any other folder on Drive.
Uploading files
Connect the device to your computer and wait for the startup prompt to appear:
To begin the process of uploading photo and video files to Drive, click the Upload button. Leave the checkbox checked <название устройства> so that the next time you connect, downloading from this device will always start automatically, without prompting.
All photo and video files found on your device will be downloaded to the automatically created Camera folder by default. All files in the folder will be renamed according to the date and time they were created (shot). You can manage your photos on your computer or on the service page in image viewing mode.
If during boot the device was disconnected from the computer and the option was enabled Always download photos and videos from<название устройства> , when the connection is restored, the download will continue automatically. If the option has been disabled, a dialog box will open asking you to start up.
To stop auto-downloading photo and video files from your device, click the Not Now button. In the dialog box that opens, you can perform this action only for the current connection or enable the option Never download from this device. In this case, the next time you connect this device, the startup prompt dialog box will not appear.
Note. Auto-upload of photo and video files will work even if you are disconnected from the network. When the Internet connection is restored, the Camera folder will begin synchronizing with the server.
Disabling startup
To disable auto-download of photo and video files for all devices, follow these steps:
If you want to change the startup decision from a device that you previously connected to your computer, check that the option Offer auto-upload of photos and videos on and press the button Forget devices. The next time you connect to such a device, a dialog box will open asking you to start up.
There is not enough space on your computer for the entire Yandex.Disk folder. What to do?
To save space on your computer, you can disable synchronization of one or more folders with the Yandex.Disk server.
You can set up selective synchronization when you first start the program, so as not to download all folders to your computer.
Disable folder synchronization
Attention. Synchronization of a folder cannot be disabled until all files in it are synchronized (the folder is marked with the icon).
