    If you lost your phone with the MTS SIM card installed in it or stole it, then the first thing you need to do is to make sure that the person who finds the mobile device cannot spend money from your account. To do this, you need to apply the service "Voluntary blocking", which can be connected in several ways.

    Voluntary blocking

    When activating voluntary blocking, the subscription fee for the connected tariff and added options is not charged.

    The "Voluntary blocking" service allows you not only to protect yourself from intruders, but also simply save on communication services if you do not plan to use an MTS SIM card for some time.

    Ways to block a number:

    • Use the functions of your personal account.
    • Dial the command *111*157# and press the call button.
    • Use the voice assistant by dialing 1116.
    • Contact the communication salon.


    The "Voluntary blocking" service is activated free of charge. A daily fee of 1 ruble is charged starting from the 15th day of blocking (the first two weeks the service is free).

    Unblocking a number

    If you find a lost phone or decide to return to using MTS communication services again, then you need to unlock it. You can do this in the following way:

    • Disable the service in the "Block" section in your account.
    • Call the contact center at 0890.
    • Contact the MTS communication salon.

    After the voluntary blocking is disabled, the tariffication of services will resume in full accordance with the terms of the tariff and the connected options.

    SIM card recovery

    You can activate a blocked number on another SIM card by submitting an application and a passport to the MTS communication salon. In this case, the balance, the previously connected tariff plan and all the options added to it will be restored.

    Restoration is made only after the client presents a document proving his identity. If you do not contact the office in person, order the delivery of a SIM card to your home (the service is valid for Central Russia) or write out a power of attorney for another person.

    Forced blocking

    The SIM card can be blocked without your consent by the mobile operator if you have been:

    • Did not replenish the account with a negative balance.
    • Didn't make calls from MTS number.
    • Did not use any paid services.

    In the last two cases, automatic blocking occurs if the specified events continue for 60-180 days (the exact blocking period depends on the tariff plan). With a negative balance, the number is blocked immediately; to unlock it, it is enough to replenish your personal account with the required amount.

    If you have not used your SIM card for 2-6 months and it is blocked, then you will not be able to restore it with the old number. To start using MTS services again, you need to buy a new SIM card.

    In addition, if the SIM card is out of order due to dilapidation, you can replace it for free in the MTS salon. Replacement is made on the basis of the owner of the number, provided that he presents an identity card.
