• Catacomb Necropolis - Catacombs and necropolises. Caterpillar Cat S40, Caterpillar Cat S30 - Drop or sink? Review of protected smartphones Kata lvl 30

Oddly enough, mobs are found in catacombs and necropolises. Here is a list with mob levels.

    1) Necropolis
    * Sacrifice's Necropolis (Necropolis of Sacrifice)
Level 20~30 monsters spawn here, and it is located in the Gludio region, in the southern regions.
    * Pilgrim's Necropolis (Wanderer's Necropolis)
Level 30~40 monsters spawn here and it is located in the Dion area, in the Partisan Hideaway area.
    * Worshipper's Necropolis (Servant's Necropolis)
Level 40~50 monsters spawn here, and it is located in the Innadril area, in the Alligator Island area.
    * Patriot's Necropolis (Necropolis of the Patriot) (dry.gif – SSS)
Level 50~60 monsters spawn here and it is located in the Gludio region, in the area above Gludio Castle.
    * Ascetic's Necropolis (Necropolis of the recluse)
Level 60~70 monsters spawn here, and it is located in the dark elf area, in the Altar of Rites area.
    * Martyr's Necropolis (Necropolis of the Martyr)
Level 60~70 monsters spawn here, and it is located in the Giran region, in the Giran Castle area.
    * Saint's Necropolis (Saint's Necropolis)
Level 70~80 monsters spawn here and it is located in the Innadril area, in the Field of Whispers area.
    * Apostle's Necropolis (Necropolis of the Apostle)
Level 30~40 monsters spawn here, and it is located in the Aden area, in the Devastated Castle area. At this point, depending on whether or not the seal is in possession, one can be transported to the place where Lilith appears, as well as Anakim.

    2) Dungeon
    * Heretic's Catacomb (Heretic's Dungeon)
Level 30~40 monsters spawn here, and it is located in the Dion area, in the Execution Ground area.
    * Fallen's Catacomb (Dungeon of the Fallen)
Level 40~50 monsters spawn here, and it is located in the Giran region, in the Giran Harbor area.
    * Heathen's Catacomb (Dungeon of the Atheist)
Level 50~60 monsters spawn here and it is located in the Oren area, in the Lizard Plains area.
    * Evil Path's Catacomb (Dungeon of the Path of Evil)
Level 60~70 monsters spawn here, and it is located in the Aden area, in the Forest of Mirrors area.
    * Ill-boding Catacomb (Ominous Dungeon)
Level 70~80 monsters spawn here, and it is located in the Oren area, in the Dark Elven Village area.
    * Secret Plot's Catacomb (Dungeon of Secret Collusion)
Level 70~80 monsters spawn here, and it is located in the Aden area, in the Hunters Village area.

There are a lot of mobs in these dungeons, and many with different resists. Mobs with resistance to physical attacks are especially unpleasant.

    dusk vs dawn

Every 2 weeks there is a dusk vs dawn competition. In every city, with the exception of the starting locations, there are Dusk and Dawn Priests. Where you can sign up for any side.
The first week is the competition itself, the second week the winner enjoys various goodies. How does the competition work? In the catacoba and necropolises there are special mobs Lilim and Niflim. From which stones drop, which are then changed by the priests to ancient adena (AA). During the competition period, AA is recorded on the account and given to the winning side the following week. The losing party is not given it, but the score is not reset. The competition is in 2 “sports”: AA camp and festivals. What is a festival? This is a lot of fun. You can sign up for the festival with any priest (naturally the one for whom you are registered). Priest teleports to the festival site.
I don’t remember what it’s called, but they are located above Gludin. In the Orc Barraks area. This place has several halls with level restrictions. The team that has signed up for the festival must enter the room and kill as many mobs as possible. The mobs are all orcs. There are shamans, archers and "infantry". The festival lasts only 20 minutes, but believe me, not every group will last these 20 minutes. For death, a tiny amount of experience is removed. The drop there is only money. In general, whoever killed the most mobs won. The results of the festival are calculated according to level categories.
Based on the results of the festivals and AA gathering, the winner of the dusk vs dawn competition is determined.
The second week, as I already said, is used to get goodies.
    1. Losers are not allowed into the catacombs and necropolises. Meanwhile, the winners calmly fill AA. For these AA you can buy a lot of tasty things, namely: the priests sell Greater Heal Potions, Greater Haste potions (wind walk2), Greater Potions of alacrity (haste2)
Greater Magic haste potions (acumen2). CP heal potions, Greater Heal potions, and more. A Mammon trader is jumping around the necropolises, from whom you can buy all the tattoos, D,C,B enchant armor scrolls, D,C enchant weapon scrolls and something else. Mammon Blacksmith is jumping around the catacombs, from which you can change weapons to the same or an order of magnitude higher D, C, and B-grade. That is, for example, you can exchange Sword of Revolutions (from the store) for Elven Long Sword (which you cannot buy in the store), etc.
That, in principle, is all about dusk vs dawn.

Main characteristics of Caterpillar Cat S40

Main characteristics of Caterpillar Cat S30

My brief naive knowledge about Cat S40 and Cat S30 before testing

It's been a while since I've gotten my hands on a secure smartphone! And here - IP-68 (can be drowned), and some kind of MIL-SPEC 810g (can be dropped). A budget processor from Qualcomm, which I have never encountered before, LTE support, capacious batteries, not a lot of memory, and the screen resolution is modest. Excuse me, what matrix does the S30 have? TFT-TN? Strange - for such and such money.

    My brief conclusion from testing

Expensive, of course. But this is not surprising. There are no competitors. I didn't like the Cat S30 at all. For that kind of money, getting such an unimportant screen, so little memory and a bad camera is just a shame. The Cat S40 is much more positive, although there is something to grumble about. The latest budget hardware from Qualcomm turned out to be very ok. As for security... You can't say enough about it in a few words. But deliberately dropping and drowning these smartphones I wouldn't recommend it.

    Important Note

The S30 and S40 smartphones are positioned by the manufacturer as smartphones for working professions. And typical smartphone qualities and characteristics, according to the manufacturer, are not the main thing for them.

    Lyrical introduction

Anyone who has never broken the glass of their phones or bathed them in puddles can throw a slipper at me. There are enough ambisinists in the world, service centers are littered with drowned people and broken screens. It would seem that the demand for secure devices should be prohibitive. But no. Somehow it... is not felt. After breaking two or three glasses, people begin to hide their smartphones in cases. Nobody thinks about waterproofness at all (it seems that I’m the only one who has a tradition of getting completely wet in the rain once a year, including my underpants, socks and mobile equipment).

As a result, there are few secure smartphones. And since there are few of them, that means they are expensive. Since they are expensive, few people buy them. Since they are rarely bought, famous manufacturers are not interested in them. Closed ellipse, goodbye.

Plus, the true smartphone characteristics of rugged devices usually don’t make much of an impression. "Cats", Cat S40 and Cat S30, are no exception. But it just so happened that I haven’t tested the processor used in them yet, and in general I haven’t seen protected devices for a long time. So it was a sin not to take the opportunity to test them.

Cat is, by the way, the same Caterpillar. Which are bulldozers and boots. I mean, one brand. Whether it is the same company or everything is complicated there is not the point. What is important is that the brand is recognizable and respected. And if so, then you expect a lot from her.

    About protection

If you look at store websites, advertisements, or anywhere else, you might get the impression that the S30 and S40 are smartphones that you can swim with and that you can throw against the wall from time to time out of nothing to do. I'm afraid to upset you, but this is not so.

The likelihood that the S30 and S40 will survive the scrapes is high. Much higher than traditional smartphones. But still, S30 and S40 are intended for normal operation. Not so you can read in the shower or play hockey with them.

Smartphones are protected according to IP68 class, which is written in black and white on the manufacturer’s website. What does a normal person think about IP68? Right. What is written on Wikipedia: “Completely waterproof. The device can operate in submerged mode.” That is, speaking in Russian, “Hurray, let's swim!”

What is written in small letters in the user manual? Two quotes.

“This protection class ensures that the device is dustproof and waterproof to a depth of 1m for a maximum of one hour.”

"The device is designed for surface contact with moisture without prolonged immersion. The warranty does not cover damage caused by moisture due to loose covers."

If we translate from official Russian into colloquial Russian, then you should not swim or even take a bath with this device. There is a 95% chance that you won’t drown, but if you suddenly “drown”, you will have to prove that it was not your fault.

Next. The smartphones are said to be MIL-SPEC 810g compliant. And that they were tested by repeatedly dropping them on concrete from a height of 1.8 m. With 810g everything is generally interesting. Are smartphones really poisoned with salt fog and mold, exposed to acid, frozen and subjected to blast waves? If so, then cool, of course.

But let's look at the instructions again:

"The device is designed to be rugged, but not shockproof. It is drop tested up to 1.8 m, so accidental drops during normal use will not harm the device. Intentional mishandling of the device may result in damage and void the warranty."

There's no reason not to believe that the device's body is durable enough to survive minor drops. More interesting is what happened to the glass. It is thicker than traditional smartphones (as much as 1 mm versus the usual 0.4 mm, according to a Cat representative). Real Gorilla. There is a border around the screen of about half a millimeter. So when you fall on even there should be no coverage problems. But in the event of a fall, say, on gravel or on insufficiently smooth asphalt... However, these are just assumptions. Alas, I don’t have a couple of dozen devices to test them in practice.

But still, I dropped the S30 and S40 a little (not on gravel, no). And he bathed, where would we be without it. How this happened - see the video review at the end of my story.

    Price

    Caterpillar Cat S40 22500 - 26500 rubles.

    Caterpillar Cat S30 16500 - 19300 rubles.

    Competitors

Whatever we want. We want a smartphone with water protection and a shockproof case.

LTE supported? Well, perhaps the Ginzzu RS94 Dual comes to mind. The degree of its shock resistance, however, is not entirely clear.

Also, of course, Sonim XP7 is officially being imported into our country. But, excuse me, it stands like an airplane. Despite the fact that in terms of performance characteristics it is not at all better than our Cats.

Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 is not delivered to us. The Chinese from the company NO.1, according to rumors and reviews, are, well, completely Chinese. Conquest S6, Runbo F1 - it’s also unclear, expensive and without guarantees. Although the characteristics are more fun than the Caterpillars. Who did I forget?

Oh yes. I forgot last year's Cat S50. I haven't seen it in person, but if I had to choose between it and the Cat S40 purely based on parameters, I'm not at all sure that I would choose the more recent model.

Fine. What if we are looking for a smartphone without LTE? The Ginzzu family, plus a couple more devices. Prices are no longer so exorbitant. But, to be honest, it’s hard to call these smartphones interesting precisely as smartphones. Well, of course, there is no talk of any official shockproof certification here.

    Equipment

Charger, Micro-USB cable, film for the screen, some papers.

    Appearance

The devices differ slightly in size. Plump, weighty.

Rubber-plastic. The sides of the S40 are metal (the ones that are silver). Like - a sign of a higher class.

All holes (3.5 mm audio, Micro-USB, card slots) are closed with tight plugs (see unboxing video). When the covers are open, smartphones are no longer protected from dust and moisture. (As you know, there are devices certified to IP67, whose connectors do not close at all).

The plugs for cards on both devices are such that you can break your nails while opening them. “Everyday” plugs (audio and USB) are normal, although also quite hard.

Micro-USB memory cards - simply insert into the hole and snap into place. SIM cards (Nano-SIM, 2 pieces) are inserted into the case on a sled. The slides are inserted without any problems, but again you have to pull them out with danger for your nails (this is especially true for the S40).

The cases are non-separable, the batteries are not removable.

I was a little disappointed that there is no eyelet to hang the smartphone around your neck or strap it to your hand.

There are also no LEDs that could indicate missed calls and messages.

Android buttons are not touch-sensitive, but normal physical ones, with clearly visible clicks. And, you know, I even somehow became sad that you can’t find these on ordinary smartphones these days. Very good buttons. Alas, no backlight.

Both devices have a yellow “programmable button” on the left side, which can be used to turn on a flashlight, camera, call an application, etc.

    Boring details and photos

Before. The glass is quite thoroughly recessed.

On top there is a “hello dust” speaker, a camera peephole, and sensors.

Below are buttons and loud speakers. Very loud, you won't miss a call. Interestingly, smartphones sound very loud regardless of whether they are lying on your table with their backs or front facing up. But I wouldn’t recommend listening to music through these speakers - your ears will curl up.

Most likely, somewhere right there, below, the main microphone is located. It’s hard to say where exactly, they disguised it well.

On the back there are cameras and flashes. Arranged correctly. And slightly recessed into the body. Nearby there is a hole for a noise-canceling microphone.

The audio outputs are covered with plugs on top.

The bottom of the S40 is empty, the S30 has a Micro-USB connector.

On the left, the S40 has a programmable button and a Micro-USB connector.

On the left side of the S30 is a programmable button and a power button.

On the right side of the S40 is the power button, volume buttons, and one common cover for the memory card and SIM cards.

On the right side of the S30 are the volume buttons and two separate covers for the memory card and SIM cards.

    Internals (iron)

    AnTuTu19001 (v5.7.1)
    ChipsetQualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909
    Cores4 x Cortex A7, 1.1 GHz
    GPUAdreno 304

    S30, RAM (free)1 GB (0.50 GB)
    S40, ROM (free)16 GB (10 GB)
    S30, ROM (free)8 GB (3 GB)
    Micro-SDUp to 64 GB

It's funny. The AnTuTu test gave me exactly the same number of parrots for both devices. It is clear that the coincidence is completely random. But the hardware of smartphones is really the same.

A completely new chip from Qualcomm. From the junior line, but, nevertheless, even here there is support for LTE networks.

Before the Snapdragon 210 appeared on the market, everything was simple and clear. There are chips with Cortex-A7 cores and without LTE - this is the middle class, closer to the budget one. And there are chips with more powerful Cortex-A53 cores and LTE support. For slightly more expensive devices.

So, it seems that we can expect that there will now be no devices from Qualcomm without LTE support at all.

Inexpensive quad-core chips that are widely used today:

    Snapdragon 210LTE1.1 GHzCortex-A7 x 4Adreno 304
    Spreadtrum SC77313G1.2 GHzCortex-A7 x 4Mali-400
    MediaTek MT65803G1.3 GHzCortex-A7 x 4Mali-400
    MediaTek MT65823G1.3 GHzCortex-A7 x 4Mali-400
    Snapdragon 410LTE1.2 GHzCortex-A53 x 4Adreno 306
    MediaTek MT6732LTE1.5 GHzCortex-A53 x 4Mali-T760
    MediaTek MT6735LTE1.5 GHzCortex-A53 x 4Mali-T720

Performance-wise, everything is as expected. The middle class is what the middle class is. As for me, the performance is quite enough for everyday tasks.

Of course, they were greedy with the RAM. Two or at least one and a half gigabytes would look much better in such expensive devices.

Flash memory. 16 GB for Cat S40 is normal. 8 GB for the Cat S30 is no good. Yes, applications can be transferred to a memory card. But they are not completely transferred. And the data is not transferred, i.e., consider that 90% of the volume of toys will always remain in the smartphone’s memory. To install the eighth Asphalt on the S30, I had to scrape along the bottom and thoroughly clean the area.

The set of sensors for smartphones is the same. There is no gyroscope, but there is a compass. Of course, there is also an accelerometer, proximity and light sensors.

    Communication with the outside world

Nothing interesting. Everything that is there works as it should.

LTE - all bands necessary for our country.

Wi-Fi 5 GHz, alas, remains the prerogative of expensive chips; Qualcomm simply does not have it in the 2XX and 4XX lines.

    Screen

The matrices are not of the highest quality, but within reason. Although, of course, the use of TFT-TN with its “proprietary” color inversions in a device costing under 20 thousand is beyond my understanding.

The resolution is low. However, I'm not too picky here. I read Twitter, visited websites. Fine.

Glass. Like I said, it's thick. You can feel it. The S40 apparently has OGS. Those. The glass lies directly on the matrix. In S30, the visible distance between the glass surface and the matrix is much greater; glass thickness alone cannot explain it, i.e. OGS no.

Gorilla Glass. The fourth generation is for the S40, the third for the S30. Slipperiness is good. The sensor is clear. No oleophobic coating.

Very high brightness. Alas, the minimum brightness is very high; in the dark the devices are a bit bright.

There is a mode for working with gloves, the sensitivity is good. But using multi-touch in this mode is completely unrealistic.

    Operating system and other software

Fresh Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with over-the-air updates.

Both smartphones had a glitch. An update arrives over the air, you agree that you should update, but the update does not happen. After some time passed, both devices were successfully updated. So, I suspect it was a glitch of the update system, and not the devices themselves.

It has its own application store. Dumb. The first thing I found there was a “free alarm clock without advertising” (Alarm x4), for which they wanted 50 rubles. Hangs in the top paid applications.

AntiVirus and OfficeSuite cannot be removed, which is a pity. But you can turn it off, of course.

    Battery

The battery capacity of both smartphones is 3000 mAh. The results of battery tests were encouraging - 152% of the conventional standard for the S40 and 162% for the S30. The low screen resolution takes its toll. And the hardware seems to be very economical. The only thing you need to pay attention to is the brightness of the screen. The maximum possible brightness is very high. And by turning it to the maximum, you can easily reduce the operating time of your smartphone by several times.

Caterpillar Cat S40 and Caterpillar Cat S30 like phones

Oh, what a call! Loud! The default melody is chosen absolutely divinely - it will wake the dead. But the vibration alert is rather weak.

I want to point out right away that the catacombs and necropolises are no different from each other, even the monsters are the same (except perhaps a little visually). The only difference is that in some the Merchant of Mammon moves (necropolises), in others - the Blacksmith of Mammon (catacombs). This is where the differences end. They differ from other locations primarily in the monsters - they have a 4-fold increase in the amount of HP, most have a wide range of additional parameters (strengthening, weakening, resists, vulnerabilities, types of attacks, skills, etc.), monsters are social - you hit one and You get increased attention from at least some of the monsters, there is a drop of Seal Stones, the level range is from 22 to 78.

Dungeons are available throughout the event if you belong to the winning side. Only registered characters can be there, i.e. If you look at the registration conditions - above level 20. You can get into any dungeon, there are no restrictions on your level, another thing is that you measure your strength and the strength of the monsters. It is recommended for parties to go there; if you are alone, you can often find places to download that are more profitable in terms of speed.

There are two ways to get into the dungeons, one is more difficult, the other is more expensive. The first is to find the dungeon you need on the map, and get to it using teleporters and legs. The second way is to move to the city that is closest to the dungeon you need, communicate with the Priest - he has a point to move to the nearest necropolises and catacombs. Choose the one you need - voila, you will be teleported directly to them. You will find yourself next to a tall structure consisting essentially of four columns and a roof, with water in the center. Dive and you won’t get lost there :)

Dungeons are each assigned to their own seal - necropolises belong to the Seal of Greed, catacombs - to the Seal of Knowledge. It absolutely does not affect which seal you chose during registration, these two or the third. You can be in any of the dungeons, during any period of the event, without any restrictions, if your side wins.

If, while in a dungeon, you suddenly leave the game during the Fight Stage and enter during the Victory Stage, or you deliberately set up such a fraud and find yourself on the losing side, I hasten to rejoice, you will not be able to swing and break the seal stones. The very first monster will “deport” you from the dungeons. If you belong to the winning side, nothing like this, of course, will happen. Feel free to go swing right away.

Dungeons are distributed across levels. Those. in each of them there are monsters only in a certain range of levels, no higher and no lower. At the beginning it’s weaker, the further you go, the stronger it is. You can find out the distribution of dungeons by level from the Priest or in the Record of the 7 Seals.

Necropolises and Catacombs in Lineage 2 are the main loot for Ancient Adena, the second most valuable game currency. They are closed dungeons, which can only be entered at a certain time if the necessary conditions are met. They are inhabited by fairly complex monsters and are good hunting grounds. The difficulty of these locations lies in the enclosed space, which makes it almost impossible to escape from aggressive monsters. Almost any character can choose a dungeon based on their level.

    Seals dusk vs dawn

The dusk vs dawn competition takes place every 2 weeks. To take part in it, you must register with a representative of the desired party, who can be found in any city. To do this, you need to approach Dusk or Dawn Priests and apply for participation.

The process itself consists of two stages, the stone collection stage, which takes place in the first week of the competition. Special monsters living in necropolises and catacombs of lineage 2, such as Lilim and Niflim, will drop stones:

These stones can be exchanged for Ancient Adena from the Priests of the side you support. Then it must be credited to the account. The winner will be the side for which the participants surrender more Ancient Adena. The winning side will receive Ancient Adena next week. The loser will not be able to cash out her deposit, but it will not be reset to zero and will remain in the given amount.

You can also increase your print rating by taking part in a print festival. To do this, you need to assemble a team and contact Priests with a request to move you to the festival area. Your team will be taken to a huge hall, where several rooms will be offered by level. Having chosen a suitable room for the level of your team, you will move to a room populated by a large number of monsters. The group's task is to destroy the maximum number of monsters in the allotted 20 minutes. This number will influence the overall result of your seal in the ranking. A total of 7 days (Monday-Sunday) are given to fight for the seal.

Second week, then awards week. The winning side will receive a reward in the form of Ancient Adena. And also the opportunity to hunt in the necropolis and catacombs over the next 7 days. The losing side will not be able to enter them. The second, tangible bonus is the ability to hunt bosses Lilith or Anakim (depending on the winning side). Using these RBs, you can increase the level of soul crystals.

    * Pilgrim's Necropolis (Wanderer's Necropolis)
Level 30~40 monsters spawn here and it is located in the Dion area, in the Partisan Hideaway area.
    * Worshipper's Necropolis (Servant's Necropolis)

    2) Dungeon
    * Heretic's Catacomb (Heretic's Dungeon)
Level 30~40 monsters spawn here, and it is located in the Dion area, in the Execution Ground area.
