    Messages about the unstable operation of your smartphone with firmware should be left in the BUG REPORTS section of our forum!

    On the Meizu U10, the firmware is updated over the air, but users do not always have the opportunity to install it directly through the standard smartphone functions. In some cases, this will have to be done manually. Since installing updates is a serious matter, and the slightest error can lead to a complete failure of the device, it is recommended that you carefully study the proposed instructions.

    If after that there are still any doubts, it is recommended to contact more experienced users, or better, a service center.

    There are two possible scenarios. Let's consider them.

    If there are no significant problems with the operation of the smartphone, then the presence of the device itself and uninterrupted access to the Internet will be quite enough.

    The flashing process in this case consists of several stages.

    Download firmware from the official site

    First you need to download a file containing the new firmware version from the Internet. This can be done both from the official site, and from other resources.

    It is necessary to emphasize that for each model of the Meizu smartphone, its own flyme has been created. That is, by going to a particular site and choosing an installation file, you need to pay attention to which device it is suitable for. In no case should you install updates for another model on the Meizu U10.

    In addition, it is recommended to download the firmware file from the official source. This is the most reliable option. If you do not want to turn your Meizu into a “brick”, then you should not neglect this rule, especially since no one takes money for this.

    When the required version of the software is already downloaded to the device, it is necessary to check whether the extension and file name are correct by default. The standard update is always packed in an archive. You can't take it out of curiosity.

    The name must be strictly update.zip. If the archive is named differently, it must be renamed.

    We start the smartphone in Recovery mode

    After you are completely sure that the downloaded firmware is working and without damage, you can start installing it on your smartphone.

    Attention! After the firmware, all information on the smartphone will be erased, so you need to take care of backup.

    The first step is to move the update to the internal memory of the mobile device. This is easy to do with the built-in "Explorer".

    If everything is ready for installation, you need to turn off the smartphone and, while turning it on again, start recovery mode. This is done through a standard key combination. For Meizu devices, this is the power key and the volume up button. It is necessary to hold this set until the logo appears. After that, you can let go.

    When the settings window has loaded, from the options offered, you need to select the item " System Upgrade».

    Now the device prompts the user to clear the data using the option " clear data".

    The flashing process starts after pressing the button " Start».

    When the update process on the phone is completed, the system will start an automatic reboot.

    Using a computer

    The second option is suitable for those who, for one reason or another, do not have the opportunity to download the firmware directly to their smartphone, or the device is too unstable. For this you will need:

    • Computer or laptop, not necessarily powerful;
    • USB cable for phone connection. It is recommended to use only the original cord in order to avoid all sorts of problems;
    • Firmware file;
    • A special program installed on a computer. Through it, the whole process takes place. On the Internet, you can find a huge number of these in the public domain.

    Download firmware

    As in the first option, to get started, you need to download the new version of the flyme firmware for Meizu U10. Since the phone is inactive, this is done on a computer or laptop. The main thing is not to forget to make sure that the firmware version is suitable for a particular model. Next, you need to save the firmware file, if possible, to the phone's memory. If this is not possible, save the firmware to the root on a memory card (micro-sd) and insert it into a mobile device.

    Checking the file name and extension

    Under no circumstances should you unzip the update!

    Connecting the phone in Recovery mode

    Next, you need to connect the mobile device via a pre-prepared cable to the PC. Now you need to go when you turn on "Developer Menu" and connect the phone system to the computer. For Meizu devices, this is the power key and the volume up button. It is necessary to hold this set until the logo appears. After that, you can let go. Before doing this, it is advisable to make a backup copy of the data.

    Firmware

    It is necessary to carry out a certain series of actions, the button “ System Upgrade». Further " Start" or " OK"- and the flashing process is started.

    SP FlashTool (if you get a "brick")

    As for specialized programs for flashing through a PC or laptop, SP FlashTool is the best option. You can flash the firmware through it by following a few steps:

    Download and unpack the file on your PC. Install the drivers from the drivers folder. Run flash_tool.exe from the flashtool folder:

    • After installing the drivers, you need to run the SP FlashTool program;
    • When a window appears on the screen, you need to find and activate the "" option in it. With its help, it is proposed to select the firmware file;
    • When the archive is selected, you must click on the option " DADLAllwithchecksum" and check the box next to it.
    • We take the switched off phone and connect it to the USB port of the computer;
    • Now you can click on firmware-upgrade»;
    • When all actions are completed, disconnect the phone from the PC and turn it on.

    It remains to wait for the device to reboot and you can use the updated device.

    Good afternoon friends!
    Today there will be a slightly non-thematic review, the fact is that I recently purchased a phone Meizu U10 3/32Gb. I chose first of all in terms of price / quality ratio, battery, firmware and of course the appearance.

    • Firmware.

    Traditionally, Meizu uses its own Flyme shell, the latest version at the time of writing is 5.2.3.0G. Comes with firmware U680H (A stands for Chinese version and YunOS OS). The only difference in these firmwares is that on the “international” U680H there is a Russian language and the ability to update over the air, while on version “A” there are no languages and you cannot update over the air, this is a purely Chinese firmware, but There is NO difference in hardware.

    By the way, those who do not want to overpay can buy a phone with U680A firmware and then upgrade to U680H. There will be no difference later with phones already flashed to the “globalka”.

    You can view the firmware version in Settings -> About phone -> Firmware version: Flyme 5.2.3.0G. If you are offered a phone with a newer firmware version, be aware that this is an assembly of Chinese, basement masters!

    Ergonomic, comfortable, functional, but there are certain glitches, such as a jamb with the Task Manager call. It sometimes works not by swiping from the bottom up from the “Home” button, but works if you go to the browser or explorer.

    Also, a third-party keyboard periodically flies, sometimes it flies so that it seems to be activated, but it is preinstalled. Rebooting the phone helps.

    Another point is related to the “Security” application, sometimes when you turn on the application it says that the system is 100% optimized (although it is not), re-logging in / out solves the problem.

    You can download the official firmware from the official Flyme OS website.

    • Appearance.

    Out of all praise, the apparatus for its 12000r looks just amazing. The combination of glass and metal looks very expensive. Excellent oleophobic coating, the phone is quite durable (it dropped 2 times on the first day of operation), there is no backlash, the assembly is of high quality. But despite the protective glass, the device is scratched, so a week later, I bought a silicone bumper and a protective glass. The device is durable and beautiful, but small scratches that began to appear on the sides began to annoy, although the device was used carefully and I still don’t understand where the scratches could come from.

    • Functionality.

    The phone has a universal slot for 2 nano-sim, or 1 sim + microSD up to 64GB. The volume buttons are not very conveniently located, you have to get used to it. The device itself lies perfectly in the hand and can be operated with one hand. The sound in the speaker is average, the vibration strength is average.

    The picture quality is not bad for a phone, but the autofocus is weak and can't always focus.

    Not bad catches 3 / 4G network. The sound in the speaker and the microphone for telephone communication are good.

    The battery holds in the average mode (Internet, calls, instant messengers and 4 hours of music) 12 hours, which is enough to get to and from work without fear that the phone will turn off. At the end of the day, approximately 30% of the charge remains.

    Another important point, this concerns the built-in dialer and the list of contacts, after a while they periodically begin to disappear, and then appear on their own. A power reset usually does not help, only a factory reset helps for 2-3 weeks, but this is not a solution. As it turned out, in order to avoid such glitches, it is necessary to enable automatic synchronization with Google accounts and instant messengers.

    • Display.

    The phone is equipped with a 5 inch display with a resolution of 1280*720, ppi 294 dpi.

    Image quality for the average user is excellent. Pixels are naturally invisible.

    The glass itself is protected by Gorilla Glass, the phone is strong enough (I dropped it twice from a height of 80 cm onto the parquet floor) and there are no cracks. But be sure to buy a protective glass or film.

    The display is shamelessly scratched, even if you use it carefully. Also, when buying, it is worth considering that the glass on the display has a 2.5D effect, so choose a film or protective glass very carefully.

    • Battery.

    The battery capacity is 2760 mAh. In standby mode (only cellular communication works), it calmly “holds” 3 days. The firmware is the official, latest version.

    When listening to music 4 hours a day, 30-40 minutes of phone calls, 1-2 hours of applications, the Internet (no games), 6 hours of Wi-Fi, while the phone loses about 40% of the charge in an 8-hour working day. The display setting is set to auto-brightness, the slider is set to 50% brightness.

    In general, the battery causes positive emotions, the autonomy of the phone is enough for active work for 1 day of iron. Charging is also fast enough from 5% to 100% charged in 90 minutes.

    • Conclusion.

    Advantages:
    + Excellent case design that can compete with iphone 7,
    + The design of Flyme OS (an improved android that Meizu runs on) is in my opinion better than iOS10, and definitely better than all other systems.
    + The glass is rounded much smoother than in other models with 2.5D, visually looks cooler.
    + Optimized the firmware and improved the build quality (when compared with m2 and m3), the side volume and power buttons are especially better.
    + Supports gestures and double tap when the screen is off.
    + Supports advanced work with notifications, you can enable the display of notifications on the screen, set the priority, you can also hide the text of notifications, or disable notifications for specific applications.
    + Flyme OS is faster than MIUI (Xiaomi).
    + Color rendering of the display is better than that of Xiaomi phones
    + Supports 2 SIM cards at once

    The firmware does not contain unnecessary programs, only the most necessary, everything works very quickly.
    ++ Loud speaker when making calls
    ++ A minimum of settings is more comfort, this is the main difference between Meizu and Xiaomi.
    ++ Secure firmware, the phone is suitable for Internet banking, SMS and passwords will be safe, unlike Xiaomi. Only the iPhone would be better.

    Flaws:
    - The home button is flimsy, of course it will not fall off, but it is better implemented in the iphone 7.
    – Less memory than Xiaomi.
    - The speakers are not suitable for music at all. Although this can be said about many phones. Xiaomi note 4 has better speakers.
    – The battery is weaker than that of Xiaomi note 4.
    - No IR port.

    Considering the cost of the device for version 3/32Gb, 8 core processor and presentable appearance, the team StreamArts recommends it for purchase. You won't find a better device for the money. The closest competitor, also Chinese, Xiaomi RedMe 3, is slightly better in hardware, but loses a lot in design.

    Instructions for flashing a Meizu U10 phone to a new firmware (Flyme OS version), using the standard recovery menu, changing the Chinese phone ID to a global one, full Russification of the Meizu U10 smartphone, getting root

    Thanks to the care of the manufacturer, Meizu phones are very difficult to kill when flashing, the system always first checks the firmware for compatibility and errors. Therefore, you can safely experiment with the firmware of your Meizu U10. If you managed to ruin your smartphone, do not panic, you will only need to unlock the bootloader. And in order to prevent the state of the brick, you do not need to try to flash something in fastboot mode. But if you still managed to ditch your Meizu U10, see below - recovery instructions

    And so let's start the process of flashing Meizu U10
    There are several ways to flash the official Flyme OS, I will tell you about the simplest and most convenient in my opinion.

    And so first download the desired firmware. Please note that the Chinese version of meizu U10 can only install firmware with the index “A”, “Y”, “C”, and the international version of meizu U10 can install any firmware, i.e. “G”, “I”, “A”, “Y”, “C”

    Download firmware for Meizu U10 “G” (international) – Flyme OS 5.2.3.0 G

    Then, without fail, we charge our smartphone to at least 60%, so that there is no chance

    Turn off your Meizu U20 smartphone and, on the switched off phone, hold down the “power” and “volume +” buttons, after the logo appears, release the power button while continuing to hold the addition of sound, until the recovery menu appears .

    Once in Recovery Meizu U10, you will see only two items and two buttons. The first item is responsible for directly flashing the device, while the second item is clearing all data on the phone. For the correct firmware of the smartphone, you need to check both boxes, as in the photo above.

    Then, using the supplied cable, connect the Meizu U10 phone (without leaving the recovery mode) to your PC (the operating system does not matter), the phone is recognized as a USB drive and a folder called Recovery will automatically open. In this folder, copy the previously downloaded firmware in the “update.zip” format.

    When the copy is complete, disconnect your phone from the PC and click the Start button. The process of checking the firmware file will start and only after a successful check will the installation process begin. Usually Meizu U10 firmware takes 5-10 minutes, after which the smartphone will reboot itself and be ready for use.

    Instructions for switching to the international version of the firmware

    If you have a Chinese version of Meizu U10, but you really want to have Russian language in your phone, you just need to change your phone ID from Chinese to International and then flash Meizu U10 “G” official global firmware

    Unpacking the archive
    Installing drivers from the drivers folder
    And run the flash_tool.exe file from the flashtool folder

    Press Ctrl + Alt + V, select Window - Write Memory in the top menu
    Select FilePath: devinfo.img from the images folder
    Set Begin Address (HEX): 0x2f600000

    Click Write Memory
    We turn off our Meizu U10 and, in the off state, connect the smartphone to the computer, wait until a circle with a checkmark appears
    Done, your smartphone ID has been changed to global. Now you need to flash Meizu U10 according to the instructions above with the official international firmware (with the “G” index).
