How to quickly take a photo of a computer screen, or as they say otherwise, capture the screen - I hear this question quite often. And in this post I will answer this question.

    Hello everyone, friends.

How to take a photo of a computer screen!

So, first, let's figure it out - why is it necessary to take a photo from the screen, capture the screen? Everything is very simple and there are many reasons, I will give some of them here:

    1. to copy a screen image (photo of a document, etc.) and then send it via email
    2. for image editing
    3. saving this or that information in a graphic editor.

In fact, each of this list can continue on its own. Personally, I very often use screen photos when writing blog posts, saving and confirming any payments. Imagine the situation: I paid for the goods and ask the supplier to quickly send the products through a transport company.

Very often the answer is this: as soon as we see payment, we will send it immediately. I usually do this then. I'm taking a screenshot of my screen online payment and the trick is in the bag. Naturally, such a “trick” will not work with suppliers with whom you have just started working. This is understandable. After all graphic file not difficult to fake.

But with proven and reliable partners, you can do just that. Saving time in person.

Well, okay, let's move directly to the main issue. So, the way that allows me to quickly take a photo of the screen is the “PRT SC” button on the keyboard

For those who don’t know what it looks like, here’s a photo of a standard keyboard.

On laptops, to save space, it can be moved to another place; usually it is located two rows above the “ENTER” key. Just in case, I’m including a photo of the laptop keyboard.

By the way, do not be alarmed by the fact that in addition to the main inscription “PRT SC”, “INS” and “Sys Rq” may also be written there. The economy must be economical and therefore manufacturers place on different keys different functions...

If you are unlucky with this and you don’t have this program (which is very strange) - catch it:

    http://yadi.sk/d/ytWxPWOE7x7TE

In the program that opens, you need to click on “Insert” and the required image will be loaded from your buffer. Then you need to save this image in the resolution you need.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated.

Let me summarize how to save screen photos using this method:

    select the required image

    click “PRT SC”

*open the Paint program (by the way, any other graphic editor)

Click “Paste” and paste the photo from the PC clipboard

save it in the resolution we need...

There are also many other ways to save photos from the screen, from the simple one I just described to using programs such as SnagIt (review of which), Photoshop and others.

For example, I'm in lately testing this procedure via Evernote...

Each of us uses screenshots regularly. Sometimes the boss asks to send the result of the work, sometimes a friend asks to send the correspondence to social networks, and sometimes we take screenshots ourselves in order to save important information to your computer.

If you think that taking a screenshot is a difficult process, then we need to make you happy. After all, the question of how to take a photo from a computer screen is extremely simple, and anyone can master the process of taking such pictures.

How to take a screenshot correctly?

If you take a screen photo using mobile device, then you can roughly imagine what it is: the pictures come out poor quality, ripples and other disturbances interfere. A screenshot is a picture of higher quality, and to get such an image you can go in only two ways:
    • Standard
    • Using programs

First, let's look at option 1.

The main way to create "screenshots" is that you just need to press a key prt scr, which is present on your keyboard, and then paste the image into some program (paint, online resources, Microsoft, etc.).

We don’t have to go far; standard programs are quite enough for us. Let's assume you have Windows (no matter what version), you just need to press the key prt scr (print screen), then open the Paint program and paste the photo into the program using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+V. That's it, nothing more is needed. Save in in the required format(recommended.png) and get the finished version. You can take pictures in the same way using online services, like PasteNow.ru.

    Paint

Note. If you are using Windows 7 or higher, you can use the scissors tool; it allows you to take images of the entire computer screen or a selected part.

If the prt scr button does not work for you, it is quite possible (this often happens on laptops) that this key on the keyboard is needed for something else, so you need to take a picture with a keyboard shortcut fn and prt scr.

What about Linux, how to take a photo of a computer screen there? The circuit is similar (even the button is the same). If you look at your keyboard, under the prt scr key label there is SysRq, its true purpose is to take screenshots. However, we can use the standard graphics program Gimp, in it we execute the command: file – capture – screenshot, there we can do whatever we want with the screenshot.

    Taking a screenshot using programs

Want to take a screenshot as quickly as possible? After creation, do you need to edit the image a little (add a caption, pointer, paint over a certain area, etc.)? Then you can use additional programs.
    • Lightshot (www.prnt.sc)
    • Joxi (www.joxi.ru)

The programs will not take up much space on your computer and will help you create good screenshots. It's simple: download any of the above programs, install and take screenshots.

Having taken a photo and received an image, you can immediately edit it: highlight part of the text with a marker, make a frame to highlight something, etc. After which you can place the screenshot on your computer or, if you don’t want to clutter up your desktop, you can publish screenshots to the cloud and share the image from there.

By the way, you can even post them immediately on social networks; in addition, there is a history where you can look at all previous images and flexible settings that will make it easier for you to create these images.

That's all, choose any method you like. Now you can effortlessly take pictures from your computer screen.

In the following articles I will tell you in detail how to take a screenshot of a computer screen using Snagit and PicPick.

Often, computer and Internet users are faced with the need to take a picture of what is happening on the computer screen, in other words, to photograph the screen or part of it. Such a picture is scientifically called a screenshot (from the English word screenshot).

A screenshot is a screenshot, that is, an image (photograph) of what a person sees on a computer monitor.

Here are a few examples of when and why it may be needed:

Explaining everything that happens on your computer in words is too long and not always appropriate. But photographing and demonstrating the “problematic” moment is just right. It's both fast and convenient!
    2. You are writing instructions for working with a certain computer program. It will be simply wonderful if you add illustrations to it (as in this article, for example).
    3. You are a student and want your work to be computer discipline(essay, coursework, diploma) was highly appreciated. In this case, illustrations will be a big plus.
    4. Do you like to play computer games and would like to “capture” interesting moments.

How to take a screenshot in Windows. Print Screen button

If you need to take screenshots from time to time, that is, not a lot and not often, then the easiest way is to use the Print Screen button (it can also be called “Prt Scr”) on the computer keyboard.

As a rule, after pressing it, nothing happens - no clicks, no flashes. But the photographed screen will already be “fixed” in the computer’s memory.

Then you should open some image processing program(Paint, Photoshop or other similar) or program Microsoft Word and insert the photographed screen inside.

I'll show you how to do this in Paint, since it's standard program, and it is on almost every computer.

Finally, open the Paint program (Paint.net).

Click on the "Insert" button or on the "Edit" item and select "Paste".

That's it - the screenshot has been inserted! Now all that remains is to save it on your computer (File - Save As...).

In case you want to insert this photo into Microsoft program Word, place the blinking cursor in right place sheet, right-click and select "Paste".

Let's summarize. If you want to do full screenshot, need to:

    • press the Print Screen button on your keyboard
    • open Paint, Photoshop or Microsoft Word
    • insert a photo into it
    • save on computer

In case you need to do a snapshot of just one window, which is open in at the moment, press the combination Alt keys and Print Screen, paste into the desired program and save.

This method is universal, that is, it is suitable for any version of Windows.

    Screenshot via Snipping Tool

If you have Windows Vista, Windows 7 or 8 installed on your computer, there are more convenient way“photographing” the screen. It's a little program called Snipping Tool. Let's talk about it in more detail.

Click on the Start button in the lower left corner of the screen.

A list will open. Select “All Programs” (“Programs”) from it.

A fairly large list will appear. Select "Standards".

    Finally, open the Snipping Tool.

If you do not have such a program, it means that it is simply not “built-in” into your system. In this case, take pictures using the previous method.

Most likely, a small window will appear, and the rest of the screen will seem to “fog up”.

The cursor will be in the form of a plus sign. With this plus sign you need to select the desired part of the screen or the entire screen, that is, press left button mouse and, without releasing it, move over this part. As soon as you release the left mouse button, the part you selected will be “cut out” and “added” to a special small program.

In it you can make some edits and save the resulting screenshot to your computer (File - Save As...).
