Removing an uninstallable program

But first, about how to remove a program using Windows:

IN Windows XP: go to “Start” – “Control Panel” – “Add or Remove Programs” – select the desired program in the list and click the “Uninstall” button on the right.

IN Windows 7: go to “Start” – “Control Panel” – “Programs and Features” – select the desired program in the list and click the “Uninstall” button at the top.

Well, now more details about the program. It's free and easy to use. You can download it from the official website: on the page that opens, go to the “DOWNLOADS” tab. Here we see that there is also paid version Pro. But free stuff is more than enough for us. Therefore, scroll down the site page and download Free version by clicking the “DOWNLOAD” button:
Let's launch double click downloaded file and install the program as usual.
Then launch Revo Uninstaller from the desktop shortcut. A window will open in which all programs installed on the computer will be presented. Select the one you want to delete and click the “Delete” button at the top:
The program will ask: “Are you sure you want to uninstall the selected program?” – click “Yes”.
In the next window select Advanced uninstallation mode, mark the corresponding item with a marker and click “Next”:
The application will be uninstalled using the built-in uninstaller - click “Next”:
Revo Uninstaller will scan the system and find the remaining entries from the uninstalled program. Click “Next”:
First, the program can find some entries about the application in the registry. In the window that appears, click the button “Select all” – “Delete” – “Next”:
Then the remaining files and folders can also be found. Again, click “Select all” – “Delete” – “Next”.
Upon completion, a window will appear in front of us with a message that Revo Uninstaller has successfully completed the uninstallation procedure - click “Finish”.

It may also happen that the program does not find anything - which means the built-in uninstaller coped with the complete removal itself. But, to be honest, this happens extremely rarely.

There is one interesting feature that definitely needs to be mentioned - this is the so-called Hunter Mode. It can be useful if some application is not in the list of installed programs, but is present in the system and reminds of itself (perhaps it was once incorrectly removed). This could be a tray icon or files related to that application.

In this case, we proceed as follows: in the main Revo Uninstaller window, click the “Hunter Mode” button at the top. A sight will appear, on which we click once with the left mouse button and, without releasing the key, drag it onto the window the desired program, or to its shortcut, or to the tray icon - in general, to any mention of the program. The sight immediately recognizes what is in front of it: Then release the mouse button: a window will appear listing all the actions applicable to this application(“Uninstall”, “Stop autorun”, etc.). You just have to decide what to do.

By the way, there are several more in the program additional functions : if you click on the “Tools” tab in the main window, then on the left you will have access to:

Startup manager– you can use it to disable unnecessary applications from startup;
Windows Tools– provides quick access to common Windows tools. From here you can open the “System Restore” program, “ Virtual keyboard”, access Windows services, group policies etc.;
Junk File Cleaner– if you select this tool and click the “Scan” button at the top, then various unnecessary files will be found in the system that can (and even need) be deleted.

In this article I will talk about using Revo Uninstaller - a program that is used to complete removal other applications. This is one of the most popular tools for this task. And, of course, there are others in the program useful features and opportunities, which I will also tell you about.

Downloading and installing Revo Uninstaller

The installation is traditional, nothing special will happen. If you have Windows in Russian, then after startup the interface will immediately appear in Russian. If not, then the language can be selected in the program settings.

Revo Uninstaller to completely remove programs

Using Revo Uninstaller is primarily used to remove programs. This is the main purpose of this tool. Revo Uninstaller allows you to permanently remove applications, along with all temporary files and traces in the registry, so that no hints remain.

So, to uninstall any program, open Revo Uninstaller. You will see an interface with a list of installed programs. Select the one you want to delete by clicking on it with the mouse, and then click on top menu"Delete" button.

The removal process will begin. The uninstaller built into the program to be removed will launch, in which you first need to simply uninstall using the traditional method.

Then the Revo Uninstaller window will appear, where you need to select the further removal mode: basic, moderate or advanced. I recommend choosing the advanced scanning mode, this will allow you to remove the program as completely as possible. And click the "Scan" button to continue.

When the scan is finished, you will see what entries in the registry remain after uninstalling the program. Click the Delete button to delete these entries. Confirm deletion.

Then you will be taken to a page with the files remaining after uninstalling the program. Click "Delete" to remove them. Some will be deleted only after restarting the computer.

Using Revo Uninstaller for other purposes

As I wrote above, Revo Uninstaller also has additional useful tools. To see them, click the "Tools" button in the top bar.

And it will open on the left additional panel with buttons.

Let me look at the purpose of each of these tools in order.

Autorun manager. Makes it possible to manage applications in startup: enable and disable them, as well as receive additional information about the location and meaning of registry keys.

Junk file cleaner. Scanner for files that the system does not need - temporary, cache, etc. To start scanning, you need to click the “Scan” button in the top panel.

Windows Tools. Using Revo Uninstaller can be useful for fine tuning systems. The tools necessary for this are collected here.

Browser cleaner. Removes downloads, history, cookies, cache and other data from all installed browsers.

MS Office Cleaner. Deletes the history of opening documents in Office applications— Word, Excel.

One last thing to mention is using Revo Unistaller in Hunter mode. This mode allows you to determine what program is running by hovering the mouse over a particular area and perform various operations with it.
