Avatan Plus - a new version of an unusual online photo editor

Good day, dear Aircommendians! We all know that photo effects and even advanced retouching in the 21st century will not surprise anyone. Many amateurs already have cool SLR cameras that provide a lot of opportunities for photography. Even very young children use Instagram and Retrica services. Likewise, there are many photo editors .One of the many such online programs is the Avatan editor. However, I believe that this is a special editor, which has more possibilities than others. Why?

Firstly, because Avatan is free. Some editors lure users by the fact that they have free effects. At the same time, the editor is positioned as free. However, in fact, as soon as we start using it, we immediately realize that this is just a “temptation”, and in fact it turns out that the most necessary and useful options are available only when registering a paid account.

This does not happen in Avatan - all functions in any section are completely free.

The program works online. The information you transmit is absolutely confidential, is not stored anywhere and is not shared with anyone.

You can use the editor both on the main website (click!) and on the popular social network VKontakte (you need to download the application). Likewise, if you have a Google+ account, the application can be downloaded and installed on your mobile device (phone, tablet).

However, I prefer to process photos on the website, as it is the most convenient.

What is "Avatan"? In a sense, "Avatan" is a simplified version of Photoshop. Most likely, you may need it in cases where you either do not know how to use “serious” Photoshop, or do not want to install it (for example, you are working on a laptop with little memory, so installing certain programs is inconvenient), or you are not comfortable with Photoshop. for any other reasons.

In general, processing photos in Avatan is much more convenient and easier than in many other photo editors.

Go to the site (link again) and click on the "Full screen mode" button (upper right corner), or F11 - the result will be the same. This is especially convenient if you log in from a laptop and not from a desktop PC with a large monitor.

So, the first thing we see is the main page of the site in full-screen format.

Upload any of our photos. This time I chose a cityscape.

In the tab "basics" We see a lot of basic tools.

You can also crop (cut) and adjust the image to the desired format by changing its size (however, I prefer to do this in the simple Paint program, which is available on any Windows).

The first difference of this editor is the presence of an "Auto-correction" button, when clicked, the program itself selects the parameters and adjusts the image to them. Sometimes this works, but in most cases I would suggest setting everything up manually.

Click the "Auto-correction" button and get a new, improved version of the file...

If the result does not triple you, click on the “Cancel” button in the upper right corner and the button will “throw” you back one action.

The next tab is the "Filters" tab. In principle, I found most of the functions presented in this section useless: for example, sepia and turning a photo into black and white look ugly and too simple, banal here (it is better to do this by applying the effects of the next two tabs). Who, for example, might need the “HDR” function, which creates a kind of “oversharpening”?) Personally, I can’t imagine this. However, since this effect is often found in photo editors, it means there is a demand for it.

However, I found some effects from this tab interesting and worthy of attention)

The name of the effect is indicated in the caption for each specific screenshot.

The next tab was the “effects” tab.

This tab is already more interesting than the previous one.

Many of the effects presented here are very successful and look great in portrait photographs.

Huge plus is that the degree of imposition of a particular effect on a photograph can be adjusted. But in many other editors - Forostars, PXLR_Express, this feature is missing!

In general, new effects appear very rarely, but recently this happened - a new effect called “Mint Polaroid” appeared.

For each effect, you can choose one of three textures. Here I have chosen the "scratch" texture for the "Olive" effect.

I really liked this, since there are practically no editors with the ability to overlay a considerable number of free textures for free!

Stickers.

A wide variety of stickers, sorted by category.

These stickers can be used if you want to cover your face in a photo, for example.

For example, I recently wrote where I covered some faces using stickers from Avatan. In general, it’s not in my principles to hide my face, but some of the photos from my summer vacation didn’t turn out very good - red skin toasted by the summer sun and a lack of makeup. Therefore, I didn’t want my unsightly face to distract readers’ attention from the topic of the review and transfer it to me)

This can be done

• using stickers from the "Faces" section

• using emoticons from the "Icons" category. By the way, the color of any sticker can be changed at your discretion :-)

• animal faces. Some time ago, the “Animal Face” application was popular on Google, which allows you to cover a person’s face with some cute or unusual face. Now this is possible in "Avatan"!

  

  We write our name on photographs for the Irecommend website using fonts in the “Text” tab.

  For what?

  1. Firstly, this will help us protect our photo, as some sites steal photos. And photos from Irecommend can be easily downloaded. In order for our photographs to remain ours forever, we make a beautiful inscription.
  2. If you leave your name in the photo on the website, then there is a chance that we will be remembered faster. After all, the most attention is paid to photographs - they are the first thing users look at when they visit your review page. Therefore, if you take high-quality photos, then it makes sense to indicate your name, so that when they see your name again, people will have double their interest, because they have already seen it somewhere))

  Our name is already, of course, on all our photos and screenshots in the upper right corner, but the inscription is too small. So I think it makes sense to take advantage of this opportunity)

  And so, of course, writing text can be useful in any situation.

  Now let's move on to one of the most interesting tabs - "Retouching".

  This is simply class and one of the most significant features of Avatan! After all, almost no other editor will offer you free use of tools such as removing wrinkles/changing eye color and brightness/mascara/lip gloss and so on.

  You can even remove cellulite and enlarge your breasts) It all depends on how far you are willing to go))

  Let's say I have a photo that I don't really like, but I don't want to lose it. Then I turn to Retouch for help.

  In the initial photo (on the left), I use an airbrush to cover up redness, rashes and even pimples (for pimples, I change the intensity of the brush), then I use the “wrinkle removal” tool and smooth out the “panda” under the eyes with it. I click on the pupils twice and increase the brightness. I apply mascara to the corners of the arrows. I line my eyebrows with a dark brown pencil.

  Using “Plastic” you can also remove a double chin (if you have one), using an airbrush to treat cellulite, and so on)) The possibilities are endless))

  But I especially like the Clone tool in the Retouching tab. The same cloning brush is also available in Photoshop; it will look and work exactly the same there.

  How does this work?

  Click on “select source” and select the brush size. Next, select the area that will be replaced with the area over which we draw the brush. It couldn't be simpler!

  Although, in the absence of dexterity, this will require patience - painstaking work)

  This tool can be used for cityscapes, for example, to remove garbage or an unnecessary fence, a stupid sign in the background, etc.

  I will not cover the “Additional” section (textures + stickers) because, in my opinion, there is nothing so special and interesting worthy of attention :-).

  In the first part of the review, I promised to tell you about one interesting function of “Avatan” from the second section. This function is background replacement. In my opinion, it deserves special attention, since other online photo editors do not have such a function. The function was quietly hidden among many others, so for a long time I didn’t even know about its existence x)

  Sometimes you want to change the background, because there is some nonsense going on in the background, or you just want something unusual, creative

  Again, it couldn’t be easier to use.

  Click on the “Object” item, there we draw in red everything that should remain. The thickness of the brush, again, can be varied.

To this photo editor yes, yes, yes and yes again! I only use this one, I don’t need any others. The simplicity and ease of operation is what attracts me to it. There are no hassles in the work, all actions are performed right there, instantly. The site is constantly changing, being improved, new effects and actions appear. It is very interesting for me, I stop by often. You can perform such basic actions as crop a photo, tilt it, flip it, flip it, or you can do something more complex, like completely replace the background of a photo. This, of course, requires skill, experience and time. You can't do this in a minute. Of course, I’m not a professional, I’m not very persevering, but I also tried to do something similar. It doesn't turn out perfect for me. The site is completely free, you don’t need to pay anything for ready-made photos, as in some other photo editors.

I often use Avatan to create collages. Everything is easy and simple there. There are a bunch of prepared frames, all that remains is to arrange your photos. You can make a collage of two photos, or even thirty-six! Different designs, changing colors in collages between photos.

Sometimes I add interesting inscriptions directly to the photo. I also choose the color of the inscription and the size as I like. You can add stickers - flowers, sponges, hearts, New Year's hats. Any action can be canceled if you don’t like it. The stickers stretch and shrink to the size you need.

Please do not criticize too much, after all, I am not a professional and there is no great desire to draw all the lines evenly. What happened, happened. I’m sharing what I have. Maybe someone will be inspired and do something more worthwhile than me, I’ll only be glad. The possibilities of the site are almost limitless, there are a lot of interesting and funny things. Go for it!

And image processing services. One of the most popular is Avatan, which both developers and users for some reason call “Unusual”. I don’t know what’s unusual about it, because you can find a lot of similar sites on the Internet.

A few words about the service

Avatan Plus is a free online application available directly from your browser. It does not need to be downloaded and installed on your computer. There is a mobile version for Android and iOS, but we will talk about it separately.

When launching a new product, the developers, of course, understood that creating another photo editor among hundreds of others was a very dubious and unproductive matter. Therefore, they came up with a new “feature” for it - a social component.

Avatanplus com is hybrid photo editor and social network: here you can not only process images, but also share them with other project participants, communicate, give ratings, create new backgrounds, stickers, share them with other users, etc.

Getting started

• Press the button of the same name
• Select any photo from your computer

Stickers

Stickers here refer to various kinds of objects that can be applied (pasted) to a photo. There are tens of thousands of them here, so there is plenty to choose from.

Textures and backgrounds

Here is a catalog of images that can be used as a background (background), overlaid on top of other images with transparency settings, etc.

Framework

Frames make it possible to choose beautiful things, giving them a picture-like look. There are also very, very many options for frames of various shapes and types.

With regret, we must admit that the large number of selfies (in a variety of angles and poses) mainly from girls with a clear lack of attention to their person and the almost complete absence of really cool and interesting photos are upsetting.

The editor's functionality resembles a very stripped-down Photoshop and, in addition to the ability to add objects (which I wrote about above), it allows you to:

In addition to these basic image correction tools, you can also do this here. There is a whole set of preset settings for this:
