• Wireless charging for Samsung Galaxy S8 phone. Wireless charging for Samsung Galaxy S8: what options are there. What phones is this wireless charger suitable for?

Today we will talk about wireless charging Samsung Wireless Charger Convertible for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Both flagship smartphones come with a regular power supply, so you'll have to buy a wireless charger separately. I will talk in detail about this accessory that bears the model number EP-PG950BBRGRU, and I will share my personal experience of using it.

Let's start with the fact that the original Samsung Galaxy S8 wireless charger has a foldable design. You can either put the phone down so it's facing you, or just put it down. The adapter unfolds with just two steps: press forward and the panel moves up like a slider, then tilt the cover towards you.

The phone can be charged in any position, be it sideways or on the back.

    Materials and build quality

The case is made of high-quality plastic, which does not make any unnecessary sounds during charging operation. The mechanism that underlies the folding design works perfectly - there are no complaints.

I really liked the surface of the adapter. It is very soft, so I don't worry about my smartphone getting scratched. It feels like leather to the touch, but it's actually not. Too little time has passed to understand how durable this material is, but I can say that in more than two months nothing has happened to it. There aren't even scratches.

Using a more premium material, such as aluminum, is not possible, since the metal interferes with the transmission of electrical current.

    Equipment

Samsung Wireless Charger Convertible is not a cheap device, but its equipment is very sparse. Charging comes in an economical box with a transparent lid, and there is nothing there except an adapter from USB Type-C to microUSB. You will have to use the cable and power adapter that came with your smartphone.

I think they could put a good cable along with the wireless charger so that you can have a spare one in your bag just in case. I have to unplug the cable every time I go somewhere to charge my Samsung Galaxy S8 on the go. I don't like it, to put it mildly.

Is it convenient to use wireless charging?

In short, very much. You come home or go to bed - put your phone on the wireless charging panel and the phone charges in fast or normal mode. Yes, Samsung Wireless Charger Convertible has fast charging functionality. This new technology charges your smartphone 50 minutes faster than what was used in previous generation chargers.

I should note that fast charging is only relevant if the phone is in standby mode. As soon as you turn on the screen, the normal one is activated.

Judging by my own experience, the Samsung S8 charges from 0 to 100% in about 2 hours. If you want to use your phone at the same time, the charging time will increase to 3 hours. As for the S8 Plus, given its larger battery, it will take noticeably longer to charge.

When you place your smartphone on the stand, the LED indicator at the bottom lights up. This way the user can see whether the battery is charging or not. During the process, this light shines blue, but when it is completed, it turns green.

What phones is this wireless charger suitable for?

The Wireless Charger Convertible is based on Qi technology, which is widely used by smartphone manufacturers. The list of compatible gadgets includes not only Samsung models. This wireless charging will work with all devices that support the Qi standard.

In particular, Samsung claims 100% compatibility with the following models:

    • Galaxy S7/S7 Edge
    • Galaxy S8/S8 Plus

    Price

The price of the device is 4,990 rubles, which at first glance seems too expensive. Consider the fact that Wireless Charger Convertible saves you from the dreaded wires. Moreover, this accessory looks very good, especially in black. There is also an option in a light brown shade - in this design it resembles a shell in which a pearl is hidden.

    Let's sum it up

The Samsung Wireless Charger Convertible is definitely worth the money. It frees the user from wires, and I think no one will argue with how great it is. I insist on buying the original device, as you can be sure that it will not let you down.

It so happened that my wife has 7+ and I have edge. So I can compare.
1.Screen resolution - I don’t care. These pixels have not been visible for a long time - BUT THE FACT WARMS THE SOUL!
    2. Clock frequency - buy megahertz :) do you really think this is an advantage? - THE FACT ITSELF IS PLEASED!
3 Number of cores - and you better compare the performance :). Not only does edge per core suck, but overall performance is lower. THE FACT ITSELF IS PLEASANT! 4. Resolution - what? -SCREEN -THE FACT ITSELF IS PLEASANT!
    5. LED indicator - possible. But he doesn’t work for me. SUPER PLEASURE!
6.Working with gloves - it's hard to say. I don't wear gloves. How often do you wear gloves with your phone? IN WINTER AND WHEN YOU WORK, YOU CAN ANSWER BY PRESSING THE CENTER BUTTON - THIS IS THE 26TH ADVANTAGE!
7.Standard USB connector - yes and no. Of course, USB is more common, but let’s be honest, Lightning is the most convenient connector today! SOMETHING YOU WILL NOT FIND ANYWHERE IN AN EMERGENCY
    8. Standard audio jack - I agree here, but the headphones are moving into the wireless segment. More and more. Just look, but in a couple of years there won’t be many wired ones. THEY EAT THE BATTERY
9.Manual camera settings - 100% agree. Very often the iPhone model gave up when turning on the pro mode in Samsung saved the day.
    10. Shooting 16:9 - I don’t even know what to say to this! FOR A PICTURE ON THE FULL SCREEN TV
    11. It will take better pictures - in auto mode everything is very subjective. In pro see #9. TESTED AND PROVEN BY ALL BLOGGERS AND ME!
    12. Shoots better in the dark - let's be honest, in the dark everything doesn't shoot well EXCELLENTLY CAPTURED A FOUNTAIN IN BARCELONA AT NIGHT EVERYTHING LIKE JAVUA, NEARBY THE iPhone PEOPLE WERE JUST INSPIRING
    13. Optical stabilization - doesn’t 7+ have it? NOT IN IPHONE
    14. Optical video stabilization see #13 NOT IN IPHONE
    15. Memory card - checkmate, apple. But the built-in memory of 32 GB for the top Samsung model sounds like a mockery. And there is no option with more memory... THERE ARE 64 and 128
    16. Two SIM - it seems dishonest to me to talk about two SIM when we were just talking about a memory card. You will decide. I chose two Sims and now a couple of times a week I choose to remove one from my phone. Memory is 32 GB only WHEN I WENT ON HOLIDAY I INSERTED A FLASH DRIVE (32) AND PACKED IT THROUGH FAILURE
17.Battery capacity. - And “twenty-five again.” What difference does it make how long the battery is? The main thing is how long the phone will last without charging. If you drive both in the tail and in the mane, then both last for about a day. But in standby mode, the iPhone is unrivaled. MY 7EDGE STANDS PERFECT AT 19.00 30%!
    18. Wireless charging - yes, Samsung has it. But is it needed in the phone - not really. It really hurts that you have to put the phone down for it to charge. There are no problems in the light. And in the dark - hemorrhoids. YOU LIE AND DO NOT BREAK THE CONNECTOR DO NOT AIM
19.Fast charging - well, probably. But charging the phone at night doesn’t matter how fast it is. :) THIS IS FOR EMERGENCY
20 Screen resolution - without a magnifying glass you won’t be able to tell who has more :) BUT THE FACT IS PLEASED!
    21. Smaller dimensions with equal diagonal (5.5") - I agree
    22. Narrow frames - isn't it #21 again? The framework is narrower, it’s true. But something is constantly being pressed by accident... I'm sick of CROVE HANDS
    23. A pontoon-curved screen - just “pontoo.” There were a couple of times when it got in the way, but never when it helped. THERE'S A LOT OF FUNCTIONALITY (BOOKMARKS AND AMAZING COLORS)
    24. Less weight means lighter.
    25. Is the price less - critically less? I understand if they were talking about Xiomi for 300. That’s less there. And here... if you can actually buy this phone and not.... (joke about the Rolton) - then +- 100 is not very important. WHEN YOU HAVE BARELY SCRAPPED HALF AND HALF IS GONE, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!
    26. THE CENTRAL BUTTON THAT YOU PRESS TO REPLY - IT’S VERY CONVENIENT, PLEASANT AND RELIABLE
    27. THOUSANDS OF FREE APPLICATIONS (ANDROID)
For me, a parameter that was not specified was very important. This is an android. This is important to me, that's why I bought edge. But I’m no longer sure that the next one won’t be the iPhone X.

    Car chargingBelkin Type-C

While some cars come with wireless charging pads that can be used to charge mobile devices, they are very small and often cause compatibility issues. Thus, you may want to consider the Belkin Type-C Car Charger. The device, as the name suggests, comes with a USB-C cable that connects to the charger. When you're in the car, simply plug in your Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus to charge your smartphone on the go. This is especially useful when you use GPS navigation from your phone.

    Portable battery with fast charging

When you're on the go and need a little extra power, consider purchasing the Samsung Fast Charge Portable Battery Pack. The slim device comes with a 5,100mAh battery that can provide two full charges to your Galaxy S8 Plus while you're away from a power outlet. Thanks to the USB-C connection, the battery can also charge the device 1.5 times faster than standard USB models.

Samsung Connect Home is a combination of a Wi-Fi router and a smart things connector. You can purchase multiple Connect Homes based on the size of your home to get better access. But what makes Samsung Connect Home especially useful when paired with the Galaxy S8 is the ability to control smart home appliances using your smartphone. Samsung has not yet revealed the price or availability of the device.

    Case-keyboard

If you're looking for a BlackBerry-like experience with the Galaxy S8, Samsung offers a keyboard case for the Galaxy S8. This case comes with a physical keyboard at the bottom of the screen that covers the virtual keys. The Galaxy S8 software recognizes the case, allowing you to interact with the physical keys. The case also encloses the smartphone and protects it from spilled drinks and other impacts.

    HeadphonesAKG N40

The Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with AKG headphones, but they are not the highest-end ones. You might consider purchasing the AKG N40, a high-end headphone from the Samsung/Harman collaboration. They provide high quality sound and have replaceable sound filters, which allows you to modulate the sound. Think of the N40 headphones as a much more comfortable (and more expensive) version of what you get with the Galaxy S8.

    SamsungGear 360

Samsung is offering a new camera this year with the redesigned Gear 360. The device now comes with a handle at the bottom for a comfortable grip. The Gear 360 also comes with two cameras that can capture 180-degree content and then stitch together 360-degree video and photos. The Gear 360 can last up to 130 minutes on a single charge and record 4K video. With Galaxy S8, you can stream and share content on the fly. Samsung hasn't announced prices yet.

Spigen offers a wireless charging option if you're not too keen on Samsung's official options. Spigen Qi Wireless Charger allows you to install your smartphone and continue working. As you'd expect, the charger doesn't require connection to the Galaxy S8, and the indicator light indicates charging status.

Samsung offers a wide range of wireless printers, but only a few of them support the Samsung Mobile Print platform, which allows you to send a print job from the Galaxy S8. Samsung Color Laser Xpress C430W is one such device. The printer connects via the nearest network and can print both color and black and white photos. It can print 19 pages per minute.

    AdapterTechMatte USB-C onMicro USB

There are times when you need to connect more than just a charger to your Galaxy S8. And when that happens, consider the TechMatte USB-C Micro USB Adapter. The tiny accessory will allow you to connect the device to a computer or tablet that doesn't support USB Type-C. This is a great way to transfer data and perform other tasks. Best of all, you can get two in one for a low price.

    Ultra-thin wireless charging pad.

The DanForce Ultra-Slim Wireless Charging Pad is another option if you don't want to plug your Galaxy S8 into a wall outlet. A distinctive feature of DanForce is its futuristic design, which makes wireless charging a much more stylish solution than conventional panels. The device comes with an 18-month warranty and features an LED light designed to tell you when your Samsung smartphone is charging.

According to Samsung developers, after using the Samsung Galaxy S7 for about a year, its battery capacity decreases from the original by about 20%. In the new flagships, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, battery degradation is 5% per year at similar rates of use.

This means that smartphones show better autonomy compared to their predecessors. Great news. However, it is important to know how to properly charge your Galaxy S8.

Batteries for a new mobile device have better performance and reliability. For many, charging a smartphone is not a problem. But still, I recommend that you resume your knowledge so that you know how to charge the Samsung Galaxy S8.

    Rules

There are no clear instructions. There is simply no need for it. What do you need to know?

    1. You can charge the Samsung Galaxy S8 as needed by simply connecting it to the power adapter.
    2. To prevent the device from overheating, do not cover it. Excessive heat input will negatively affect the battery life.
    3. Do not use a non-original charger. If you have a quality charger from a reputable brand that is compatible with your phone model, use it.

    Peculiarities

Samsung Galaxy S8 received support for fast charging technology. Fifteen minutes on the power adapter is enough for the phone to be provided with five hours of battery life.

Many people ask how to charge the Samsung S8 after purchase, because previously it was recommended to discharge the device and charge it fully three times in a row. Now there is no such need.

In autonomous power supply, a modern source is devoid of the “memory effect”, so this is no longer necessary.

Charging the device constantly from 0% to 100% results in the battery lasting approximately five hundred cycles. Then most of the capacity is lost. You can increase resources if you know how to charge the Samsung S8 battery correctly.

To do this, you need to regularly recharge, without allowing the smartphone to discharge to zero (completely).

Also, do not charge the battery to 100% if you keep it there for a long time.

You can double the battery life if you keep the charge in the range of 20-80%.

Many people are worried that the fast charging feature will negatively affect the battery capacity. The new flagship uses modern technology that does not have a negative effect and works effectively.

    Wireless charging

Samsung Galaxy S8 supports wireless charging using dual-channel technology. This allows you to charge your device much faster. Moreover, the new flagship supports not only the widespread Qi protocol, but also other standards for wireless energy transfer.

This means you don't have to worry about charger compatibility. That is, in five minutes of recharging you get 5 hours of battery life, and in fifteen minutes you charge the device by 50%.

To enable this mode, go to settings/battery. Find “Fast charging”, activate the switch

How to charge a new battery?

You can often hear advice that you need to charge a new battery with the phone turned off for about a day.

Other “experts” claim that there is no way to do without a full three charge/discharge cycles. These tips are not suitable for Galaxy S8.

What to do? Just change the power source to a new one, charge it fully and use it.

Now you know how to properly charge the Samsung Galaxy S8. The main thing is to follow the recommendations and avoid high heating temperatures of the phone. This will significantly extend the life of your battery.
