    So, preparation for installation is complete: all personal data has been saved, the media with the operating system distribution has been created, and the partition on which the image will be installed has been prepared.

    Setting boot device priority in BIOS

    1. Restart your computer and enter the BIOS.
      • on personal computers, buttons are most often used to enter the BIOS « DELETE» (« Del»), « F2", "F1", "Esc»
      • on laptops - keys « F8", "F9", "F12", "Esc»
    2. After going to the BIOS, you need to find the menu section responsible for installing devices to boot the OS.
      The partition may be located in different places (depending on the type of motherboard and BIOS version), so you need to find the menu « FIRST BOOT DEVICE », « BOOT » or « BOOT DEVICE ».
    1. You need to go to this section of the menu and set the drive to first place DVD or HDD(your Flash drive) depending on what media the image was recorded on.

    Autorun Windows installation from a DVD or flash drive

    If you did everything correctly, then after restarting your computer you will see the following:

    • if you are using DVD media, you will see the message “Press any key to load from CD...” (press any key to boot from CD). You must immediately press any key, because after a short amount of time (about 10 seconds) the boot will begin from the next boot device installed in the BIOS.
    • if you used a flash drive, the installation will begin immediately

    Start installation

    Attention!
    Your computer may have gray and blue USB connectors. If you are installing the OS from a flash drive, be sure to plug the flash drive into the connector USB2.0 (gray), otherwise the installer may not see it.

    Selecting the installation type

    • A system update will allow you to reinstall Windows on top of your existing operating system.
    • A full installation will allow you to select an existing partition for installation or re-partition the hard drive. The system will be installed completely, so this option is more acceptable (we wrote more about installation types at the beginning of the article).

    Hard disk partitions for system installation

    After proceeding to the full installation, we will be presented with a list of hard drives on which we can create or select partitions for installation. At this step there may be several options for the development of events.

    • You only have one hard drive in your system.
    • You have a separate hard drive (possibly an SSD) where the operating system will be installed, and separate drives for storing data.
    • The installer does not see the hard drive or other errors occur (below are links to articles that discuss these problems step by step)
    Attention!
    If you have several hard drives, then transfer all important data to the drive where you will store personal files and disconnect it so as not to accidentally mix up the drives when creating partitions or formatting.
    If you only have one hard drive (or SSD), then it is advisable to split it into parts (if the disk space allows it).

    The disk must be divided into parts so that at least 50GB is allocated for the system, possibly even more, because For normal operation of Windows 7, it is desirable that there be at least 15-20% free space on the system partition.
    The disk is divided into partitions to make it easier to reinstall the operating system in the future.

    For example, you have only 1 hard drive in your computer with a capacity of 500GB.

    You split it into 2 parts: 120GB (disk " C:") and 380GB (Disk " D)

    Now on disk « D you store music, movies, photos, program installers, folders with drivers, games, etc., and on the disk « C you install programs to work.

    Files from the Desktop and My Documents folders are also stored on the disk « C:». When in the future you want to reinstall Windows, you just need to transfer (copy) all important files from the desktop and other disk folders « C to disk « D, then do a complete reinstallation with disk formatting « C.
    If the disk is not partitioned, then you will have nowhere to transfer data from the disk « C:», and you won't be able to format it.

    Creating disk partitions

    At this step, you can create partitions on your hard drive if:

    • the hard drive is not partitioned (new or all partitions were previously deleted);
    • There are no important files on the hard drive, and all information can be deleted.
    The new hard drive is immediately displayed as a single partition and labeled as “unpartitioned” (see Figure 6).
    If you are going to repartition the disk (and all important files have already been transferred from it), then you need to:
    1. Sequentially delete all partitions of your disk using the button "delete" . Attention! All files on these partitions will be deleted!
    2. Select the unallocated partition that appears with the mouse, click the button "Create" (See Figure 6).
    3. Specify the size first for the system partition (which will be the disk « C ), then create a partition for the disk « D (and other disks if necessary).
    If the disk was not allocated, the OS installer will additionally create a 100MB partition to store special system files.

    Selecting a partition for installation

    If disk partitions have been created previously:

    1. Select the system partition (on which the OS was previously installed).
    2. Click on the button "Format".
    3. After formatting, select the erased partition and click on the button "Next."
    If the installer does not see the hard drive, requires a device driver, or other problems arise, then search for and resolve your error using these two articles:

    In Figure 6 you can see an unallocated 35 GB disk.

    In our case, no partition has been created yet, so we need to click on the button "Create" (Figure 7), then indicate the volume of the partition to be created (Figure 8) and click on the button "Apply" .

    After this, the operating system installer will inform you that an additional partition will be created to store system files:

    Click on the button "Next" after which the installation will begin (copying all system files and the process of setting up the OS).

    The process of copying files will take 15-30 minutes and will not require any action from you.

    Once the files are copied and unpacked, the computer will restart.

    At this point, you must remove the DVD or Flash drive from the computer, as the installation will continue from the hard drive to which the necessary files were copied.

    After the reboot, you will see a window indicating that the installation is complete.

    The completion process will take a few minutes, after which the initial setup of the operating system will begin.

    Completing Windows installation and initial setup

    When the setup process comes to an end, you will be prompted to enter a user name to create your account, as well as a computer name for subsequent network identification (under this name your computer will be visible on Windows local networks).

    Checking your computer settings

    It is possible that the problem arose “out of the blue”, then problems with the settings on the computer should not arise; much more often the problem arises during the initial configuration or making any changes to an already working network. First of all, you need to check that the IP address of your computer is correct by pressing Win+R on your keyboard at the same time. The Run window will open. In its line, enter ncpa.cpl and click OK. The network connections window will appear. It may happen that there are several of them, but the necessary one will not be crossed out with a red cross and its name is similar to “Local Area Connection” or “Wireless Connection” (in the case). Right-click on the desired connection and go to properties, where the list will contain lines with IPv4 and IPv6 entries. Check the box next to IPv6, and double-click on IPv4.     After entering your credentials correctly, you will be taken to the router control panel, and further actions depend on the device model and its firmware. You need to find a DHCP server control, which is responsible for automatically obtaining IP addresses and other parameters necessary for the network to function properly. Look for blocks whose names include DHCP settings, DHCP server, or similar. The block will contain a switch with the values ​​Enable or Disable. Most often, these settings are located in the LAN section. Enable the DHCP server, save the changes and reboot the router. Once this is done, an Internet connection will appear on your computer.

    Check your connection settings to your provider

    You should not make hasty conclusions if the previous steps did not help set up the connection. Since the network is still not working normally, we check the connection with the provider, for which in the router control panel, go to the appropriate section.     Reinstalling network card drivers and checking the firewall

    It makes sense to do this when you are sure that all previous settings are correct, the connection with the provider is established, but the network cannot be configured normally. The best option would be to download the most recent version of the driver from the manufacturer's website, which, it seems, will require going to a friend or neighbor. If this is not possible, the driver included on the installation disk will be quite suitable. After reinstalling, be sure to restart your computer. Here it is also necessary to note driver failures that occur due to installed software that makes changes to the operation of network protocols on the computer. The most common representatives are antiviruses and firewalls. Make sure that such programs are not installed, and if they are, disable or remove them during the test, as they may block the connection.

    Replacing the MAC address of a network card

    Problems with MAC addresses sometimes arise in cases where the network is very large, but it is still worth eliminating it. On your computer, go to Device Manager by pressing the Win+R keys, entering devmgmt.msc and clicking OK. The device manager will start, where you need to find the “ Network adapters” section, expand it and select the network card with which the PC is connected. After double-clicking on it, in a new window, on the “Advanced” tab, select the Network address option and enter any twelve digits in the empty field on the right.     There may be several reasons for connection loss, but most of them can be fixed on your own, so do not rush to call your provider to file a claim.

    If the electricity is turned off anywhere along this path, the equipment will turn off and the signal will not pass through. You can't find out about this by just sitting at home. You need to call your provider.

    The provider can use its equipment and software to trace the entire chain, find out where the problem is and fix it.

    By the way, such breakdowns often occur during a thunderstorm or after a thunderstorm. Lightning protection devices are activated and the power is cut off.

    In general, the weather began to deteriorate: strong winds, constant humidity, heavy rains, and especially freezing rains do not in any way contribute to the reliability of Internet connection channels.     Even the provider’s server, through which all users, or more precisely, all the provider’s clients, gain access to the Internet, can break down. This, however, happens extremely rarely. Servers are becoming more reliable, they are duplicated, backed up, and provide uninterrupted round-the-clock operation. But you can still encounter a similar problem. Fortunately, very rarely.

    It broke somewhere

    Failures also include broken wires. Well, if a regular wire breaks, it can be “fused” and repaired. But, for example, a fiber-optic wire cannot be connected without special equipment, which is not always available even from the provider’s technical support representatives.

    Wires may break sooner or later. For various reasons. For example, my friends had a wire coming from the attic into their apartment that fell off from the ceiling where it was lightly attached.     But it is possible that unscheduled work is simply being carried out, about which, of course, you should have been notified in advance, but as usual, they forgot. The provider warns about scheduled or unscheduled work by email. But how often do we check our email? Even if often, did we indicate the right email in the agreement with the Internet provider to communicate with us? Most often, to which messages from the provider arrive, they are rarely opened and almost never read.

    And then - it turns out that we were warned that in connection with such and such work there would be no Internet connection in the period from such and such a time and date to such and such a time and date. Forewarned is forearmed. If you do not read such warnings, then suddenly the Internet turns off. The most unpleasant thing is that many users who do not read mail find themselves in a similar situation at the same time. Everyone starts calling the provider at the same time to find out the cause of the problem, but as a result the line becomes overloaded and it can be difficult to get information.

    Financial block

    It is worth reminding yourself that if your account balance is zero, your Internet connection is automatically blocked. Maybe you just forgot to top up your account? Think about this before you decide to contact support.

    Problems with the router

    If you use it to access the Internet, then the simplest option why the Internet does not work is that the router is turned off. It just needs to be connected to electricity.

    Sometimes another option helps. Turn off the computer, turn off the router and after a few minutes turn everything back on, it may help.

    If the router is faulty, then such a reboot will not help, and the router will need to be replaced. However, it is difficult for an inexperienced user to determine that the reason for the lack of Internet lies precisely in the router. In this case, you have to call a specialist from the company that provides the Internet access service, that is, again from the provider’s technical support.

    Problems of mobile Internet users

    If you use mobile Internet, then there are no wires going to your house or apartment. You receive a signal from your provider via radio. But this does not mean that there are fewer problems on the provider’s side.

    Firstly, so many users can connect simultaneously that the provider does not have enough power.

    Then the signal may weaken, or the ability to access the Internet will be completely disabled, since in conditions of overload, mobile operators primarily provide voice mobile communications, and only after that everything else.

    Secondly, in the place where you are, the mobile operator may not be able to connect you to the Internet at all.

    Unfortunately, this means that this cannot be done in this particular place. It even happens that in one part of the apartment or house there is Internet, but in the other, opposite part - not. We have to, as they say, look for the most suitable place.

    Here you need to take care of timely bills, as well as choose suitable tariff options that are convenient for using the Internet access service. Otherwise, you may be left without the Internet, sad as it may be.

    It might also be trivial the modem overheats and stops working, which you use to access the Internet. Then you will have to stop the computer and wait until the device cools down. This happens in fast data networks, for example, those operating in the 4G (or LTE) standard.

    Communication with the provider about blocking the site

    I recently encountered a problem with a site being blocked. I open a page on my website and see a message on the screen that the page is blocked. I was surprised that all pages of my site opened without problems and without any messages, except for one page. I opened a supposedly “blocked” page through another Internet provider, everything works, there is no blocking. What to do in this situation? Why did my Internet provider accidentally block my page?

    I wrote a letter describing my situation, attached a screenshot (shown in Fig. 1), and sent an e-mail to the support service of my Internet provider. I received this response from them: “Good afternoon, most likely this link, or more precisely, the resource is blocked by Roskomnadzor or Mossud. The solution to the problem is to look in the Roskomnadzor database for why the resource is blocked, and then contact us.”

    I had to write to the provider's support service again about the fact that the page was blocked by only one provider. When accessing the Internet through any other provider, the page opens without problems.

    After a long and more detailed communication with the provider’s technical support via E-mail correspondence, the problem was solved! And now all pages of the site open without problems.

    Internet without problems - is it possible?

    Modern data transmission systems, both wired and wireless, are becoming more and more reliable. And this is good, because, in this way, problems with Internet shutdowns become less and less.

    It is unlikely that the Internet will ever become completely trouble-free. But now many users do not encounter such problems of lack of Internet, both on the provider’s side and on their computers. Even seemingly non-technical problems, such as financial blockages, are quickly eliminated. Providers offer so-called trust payments and other similar measures to restore normal operation of the Internet even in the absence of money in the user’s account

    What to talk about technical things! Here, a lot of equipment is duplicated, servers are redundant, information transmission channels are made along different routes, again to increase reliability. And all this so that Internet access is always available, without interruptions, without weekends, without holidays, without restrictions.

    This is the time we live in now. A time when many things are already becoming virtual, and payments, and shopping, and communication, and entertainment, and communication, and training, and development, and innovation, and so on and so forth.     Let's look at this situation: you connected to the router from your phone, the Android system shows that Wi-Fi is connected, but the Internet does not work. In addition, the network icon shows that the signal is excellent, but not a single online program is functioning. In our article we will look at options to solve this problem.

    Troubleshooting

    Unfortunately, there cannot be an unambiguous solution in this situation, and this is the whole difficulty. We will describe obvious solutions for the most common reasons why the Internet does not work on the phone.

    Important nuances

    Before you start looking for a problem in your phone, we strongly recommend that you follow some steps; in this case, it may turn out that the problem is not with your device, but with the router or even with the provider.

    1. Make sure that your Internet access service is paid to the operator.
    2. Check if the Internet works on your computer connected via cable.
    3. Try connecting any other device to the router via Wi-Fi and access the Internet through it.

    If you have difficulties at any stage, most likely the problem is not with your Android. If everything went well, then we move on to setting up Android.

    Rebooting the router

    If your router has not been turned off or rebooted for a long time, then during long-term continuous operation it may experience failures. They can manifest themselves in completely different ways, for example: two Android devices are connected to Wi-Fi, but the Internet is distributed to one of them, and does not work on the other.

    Rebooting the mobile device

    The situation described for the router also applies to your tablet or phone: software glitches may occur. To eliminate minor problems, the easiest way is to reboot, after which they are eliminated by the system automatically.

    Reconnecting to the network

    This means not just turning off the network module, and then turning it on again and waiting for reconnection, but doing this through the settings: “Forget network”, and then connecting again by entering the password (if you have one).

    On Android 6.0.1 this is done in the following way:

    • Go to settings.
    • Select the “Wi-Fi” item.
    • Find the name of your network and press it until a list of actions appears.
    • Select “Delete this network”
    • Next, tap on the same network and select “Connect”, having first entered the password (if one has been set).

    Setting the correct date

    A date in your smartphone that does not correspond to the real one may also be the cause of a situation where Wi-Fi on your phone does not work: Wi-Fi is connected, but there is no Internet on Android. Check - if the date is indeed incorrect, you can change it as follows:

    • In the settings, select “Date and time”.
    • Activate the checkboxes next to the items “Use network time” and “Use network time zone,” although the second item is not so necessary.

    After this, your real time will be requested from your operator's network and will correspond to reality.

    If there are other wireless gadgets in the room, their signals can interfere with your smartphone or tablet. We recommend changing the channel in the router settings.

    Due to the wide variety of router manufacturers, we cannot provide universal instructions for changing the channel: to do this, refer to the user manual of your model.

    In our case, we used TP-Link: we had to go to the administrative menu in “Wireless”> “Wireless Settings” and change the channel to any other, then click on “Save”, as shown in the figure.

    In the router settings, you need to select WPA2-PSK protection and AES encryption in the “Automatic” modes. This mode is guaranteed to ensure successful connection of most devices.

    Checking signal strength

    If you and your device are not close enough to the access point and the Wi-Fi icon shows that the signal is weak, in rare cases this may cause problems with the Internet. Try to get closer to the broadcast source and see if the situation changes for the better.

    Checking web authorization

    If you are not using your home Internet, but simply connected to an unpassword-protected point, then most likely this is the Internet of some company that uses protection not by setting a password for the connection, but through web authorization. That is, you can easily connect to an access point, but not a single program will show that you are online. To check this, just open your browser and go to some page. If you really have web authorization, you will be automatically redirected to the authorization window.

    Changing your static IP address

    And the last step in solving the problem is to try changing the address that the router gives to your version. This is done as follows:
