• Ebay how to switch to Russian. Shopping on eBay in your native language. eBaySocial offers delivery of goods from eBay to Russia using Shiptor

To make purchases online on English-language trading platforms: eBay auction, Amazon hypermarket, Chinese Aliexpress, and hundreds of others, perfect knowledge of the English language is not at all necessary. Product descriptions can be translated using an automatic translator like translate.ru, or you can simply use any search engine to find a similar product in the Russian-language segment of the Internet with an already translated description. Correspondence with sellers on eBay and staff of online stores usually comes down to standard phrases.

We have tried to put together a small "phrase book" with a set of the most commonly used phrases and expressions that you can use for typical situations. The phrases are composed as simply as possible so that if necessary, you can always “construct” the desired letter.

    1. Politeness never hurts in any situation. Try to always start your message with a greeting and end with a goodbye and signature.
    2. The letter should always be specific; remember that the people you are addressing, as a rule, you are not the only client. Therefore, always indicate the identifier of the product(s) that the letter concerns: this could be the lot number on eBay, the internal number of the product in an online store, or, as a last resort, just insert a standard URL - a link to the product. In a letter, after the word product - item, you can always insert a number or link in brackets.
    3. If your knowledge of English leaves much to be desired, you should not build complex structures. In this case, brevity is your strong point. Use simple phrases.
    4. Disrespect, rudeness, rudeness, threats never bring any benefit. Try never to “burn the last bridge” with insults, even in the most difficult and seemingly hopeless situation. This is not in your interests - because everything can change. On eBay, rudeness and insults are punishable, and threats may result in the user's account being blocked.
    5. Try to make the letter reasoned. Do not make unfounded statements, statements, or put forward unreasonable demands. Support everything you write with facts.

In this short article I would like to show you how you can put an item up for sale. Of course, as you understand, an auction is not a disinterested thing and you have to pay for trading on it. Therefore, here I would like to look at how to minimize eBay commission fees and further show examples of listing goods on eBay without any paid services.

First of all, let's look at what commission fees on eBay consist of:

    1. Fee for listing a lot for sale. That is, simply for exhibiting the lot, it turns out, you also have to pay. But not everything is so sad. You can list 50 items every month on eBay for free.. This is quite enough at the beginning of trading, I still do not go beyond this limit. If you sell more than 50 items monthly, then eBay will charge you $0.30 for each item for listing the fifty-first and subsequent items.
    2. Commission fees in case of successful sale. If the product is on sale, then the platform eBay will charge you 10% of its value.. Therefore, be sure to take this into account when calculating the price of the lot.
    3. Fees charged by Paypal for payment processing. They make up 3.9%. Also take this figure into account when setting the price.
    4. Fees for additional eBay services, such as: highlighting a product in search, displaying in recommended products, increasing the duration of the auction over 10 days, adding more than 12 photos to the gallery, setting reserve prices when bidding at auction.

In fact, if you display up to 50 products per month and do not use additional paid services, then you do not pay anything for displaying the goods, so if you do not sell anything, then you do not lose anything (except, of course, the cost of purchasing goods, if you had any). And in case of sale, you will be charged 13.9% of its value. Therefore, simply increase the price of the product by this percentage. Moreover, 13.9% is taken from the sum of the cost of the product and the cost of delivery, so it does not matter whether you include the cost of delivery in the price of the product and select the “Free Shipping” option or set the cost of the product and the cost of delivery separately.

    Instructions for placing a lot.

Now that you are familiar with the trading conditions, let's look at two examples of listing goods on eBay. In the first case, the video tutorial will tell you how to put a pair of shoes up for sale. This example is artificially simulated to simply show the process. In the second case, there will be more modern and detailed text instructions for selling tar soap. This is a real example of what is sold from Russia in large quantities. And remember, the main thing is to start trying it yourself, because you can read instructions endlessly, but true experience comes only when you try to do everything yourself. Each situation is unique and somewhere you will have to think with your own head, but I think after looking at the examples given, you will have fewer questions. The main thing is not to be afraid and try.

Selling on eBay - Example 1. Displaying boots (video tutorial).

Selling on eBay - Example 2. We are displaying tar soap.

Now let's look at how to list a product on eBay using the example of selling Russian tar soap.

My account settings are set to English. If you have Russian set, then some menu items will, accordingly, be in Russian. However, not all parts of the sales interface are translated from English, therefore, it is much more convenient to use English. In addition, if you intend to trade with foreigners, then it is better to immediately get used to the terminology in the original language. The entire description below will take into account the English-language interface.

Select in the top menu of the site “My eBay” – “Selling” (My eBay – Sales)

A form opens in which you need to specify the name of the product. The name of the product should, if possible, be written in the way that a potential visitor will search for it through the search bar, so don’t hesitate to use keywords. In addition, since for such a product as Russian soap there may be a Russian-speaking buyer living abroad (as a rule, emigrants from the Russian Federation and CIS countries), I duplicate the name of the product in Russian. In this case, I am selling 2 bars of soap in one lot, so I write the following text in the title: “Russian Organic Birch Tar Soap 2 PCS | Tar soap - 2 bars.” After specifying the product name, click “Get started”:

A form for selecting a product category appears in front of you. Select the desired category. If you find it difficult to choose, you can find similar products from other sellers and see in which category they are located. In our case with soap it is “Bar Soaps”:

After selecting a category, click the “Continue” button and get to the next step, “Create your listing”, where we will need to make a detailed description of the product, including the price and terms of delivery and return. There are two options here, either work with this listing creation form, or switch to a simplified form, for which you need to click the “Switch to quick listing tool” link. If you want, you can try the simplified form, but personally I always work with the extended form, so we won’t switch anywhere. Let's start filling out the form in order:

Title– This is the title that users will see in search results. We filled it out in the previous step, but if you want, you can edit it here.

Condition– condition – select New (well, I wish I could sell used soap - ;))

Add photos– a very important step, here we add photos of the product. Without photos, selling anything in the 21st century is generally pointless, so try to prepare high-quality and clear photographs of your product in good resolution in advance. Personally, after taking photographs, I edit the images in Gimp or Photoshop: I remove the background and make the image brighter and more contrasting. You can add up to 12 photos in total without additional fees. And this is what the images I added look like:

UPS– barcode – I never bother with this parameter, select “Does not apply”

Brand– brand, brand – you can select from the list or enter your own. Naturally, in this case there is no such thing in the list, so we manually enter “JSC “Neva Cosmetics”, Saint-Petersburg”:

Size type– type, size – they offer a choice of Regular, Sample Size and Travel Size. Select "Regular".

Formulation– shape – select “Bar” (bar).

Country, Region of Manufacture– country and region of the manufacturer – set “Russian Federation”

After all our body movements, I got the following picture:

Next comes the “Details” section, where we can give a detailed description of the product. The better the description, the higher the likelihood that the product will be found and that it will be attractive to the buyer. I filled it out like this:

If you have been making purchases at this auction for several years now, then you know that many sellers have very beautiful descriptions and even contain images. This is possible if you switch to the “HTML” form. Of course, knowledge of html is necessary, and images must be uploaded to some image hosting and links to them provided here. In a separate article I will talk about how to make a beautiful description with minimal knowledge of html so that anyone can figure it out. While, in principle, a simple text description is sufficient, many limit themselves to just that.

Go to the section on cost of goods and delivery “Choose a format and price”

On eBay, you can either put an item up for auction or set a fixed price, just like in a regular online store. I prefer to trade at a fixed price "Fixed Price". Next we set the price of the product. I recommend paying attention to the option “ Allow buyers to send you their Best Offers for your consideration» (Allow buyers to send you their best offers for your consideration). For example, you put up a product for $10, and the buyer wants to buy it cheaper, he can send you an offer to sell the product, for example, for $8, and you will already consider it and, if you want, sell the product on the proposed terms. In this case, I do not select this option, but often it can be useful.

In the field " Duration» we can specify the duration of the ad. When placing a product for free, you can post up to 30 days - that is, your ad will be displayed for no more than 30 days and then, if no one buys the product, the ad will be removed, but it can be placed again. The “Good ‘Till Canceled” option (submit an ad indefinitely until the lot is withdrawn by you) is paid, so I do not recommend choosing it.

Below you are offered to send part of the money from the sale to donate to some fund. Since I’m greedy, I haven’t donated anything to anyone yet and always put “I do not wish to donate at this time”

We go to the “Select how you"ll be paid" section - and indicate the Paypal account where we want to receive money and where we will receive a refund from if there are any problems with the order. We also check the box "Require immediate payment when buyer uses Buy it Now" (Require immediate payment when the buyer uses the "Buy it Now" button).

Go to the delivery section “Add shipping details”.

On eBay, shipping is divided into domestic and international. Moreover, since there is no separate Russian eBay site, delivery for us will always be international. And the internal one is actually delivery within the United States (or within the UK, Germany, Australia, if your account was created on these sites, but I have not met such users). In other words, if you are registered on ebay.com, then you are considered an American user and therefore you are required to separately indicate delivery within the United States (U.S. Shipping) and separately delivery to other countries (International Shipping), including, by the way, Russia. Therefore, in our case, we simply indicate the cost of international delivery here and there. If you want to include the shipping cost in the price of the product and provide free shipping, then in the U.S. Shipping set the “Free Shipping” option, and in International Shipping just set 0, as in the picture below:

Handling time– order processing time is the time from the moment the buyer purchases the product until you send it to you with the tracking number on eBay. If you don’t work anywhere and plan to devote all your working time to trading on eBay, then you can set it for 1 day, but if you are busy with something else, then set it up to 3 days, like me. But in any case, it is better not to bid for more than 3 days, this may turn off the buyer.

Here you can change the Item location by clicking on the “Change location” button. Here you need to indicate where the item will be shipped from. If you send it yourself, indicate your location. You can simply indicate your city, or only your country. If this field is not changed, then the auction will be set to a fragment of the address that you specified in your account.

The remaining fields may not be filled in.

If you did everything correctly, you should see the inscription “Your fees so far: $0.00.” This will mean that you do not need to pay fees for listing the product.

We click “Continue” and see a message stating that we “saved” 30 cents, since 50 products have not yet been displayed this month. Below we can see the choice of “Post our product”, “Preview”, or “Edit” again if you don’t like something.

Click “Preview” and if everything is good, then we publish it. You can also save your listing as a template so that when you post the same or similar product in the future, you won't have to fill out all the fields. Click – “Save this listing as a template and use it to sell similar items”

After this you should see the inscription “Congratulations!” and text stating that you have placed your first product.

Now, after placing the product, you can go back to your personal account in the “Selling” menu and look at your item. There you will see the number of views, how many days until the end of the ad and other data:

If someone buys your product, it will be displayed in the section Sold and you will be required to ship it and provide the buyer with shipping information. A separate article will be written about this.

If no one buys the product within 30 days, it will be displayed in the section Unsold and if you wish, you can set it again by clicking on the “Relist” button.

In the following articles, I will talk in detail about how to ship a product, how to provide shipping information, how to create an html template for product descriptions, and much more.

That's all, I wish you successful trading!

Today we have an equally interesting topic dedicated to shopping on eBay. We all understand that eBay is a huge trading platform where hundreds of thousands of products are sold and bought every day. It is quite easy for a novice user to get confused in this riot. Therefore, we tried to make a step-by-step guide in which we will tell you how to make purchases on eBay, what you need to pay attention to, and what mistakes it is better to avoid in order to minimize problems.

Shopping on eBay: Step-by-Step User Guide

As you know, eBay has many branches in different countries around the world. The shopping algorithm is the same on both German eBay and eBay England. For example, let's take the most visited and most popular auction branch in the United States among our compatriots - eBay.com. Let’s say right away that we tried to generalize this algorithm of actions as much as possible and in some places simplify it.

    Step 1. Registration

Registering on eBay is easy. Of course, some users may have problems with this, especially if the interface is not Russified. Especially for such cases, we wrote the article “”. Using the tips and recommendations given by us, you will register without any problems.

    Step 2. Product search

After registering and familiarizing yourself with the structure of the site, you can proceed to searching for a product. I would like to say right away that the eBay site is made very intellectually correctly. There are no unnecessary details, everything is as simple and clear as possible. It is enough to see once what functionality a particular button has, and no more questions will arise.

The search itself is not a tricky task. It is designed in such a way that you quickly and without any problems find the category, product group, or suitable lot you need.

Both registered users and those who do not have an eBay account can search for products. In the picture you see a standard search line (1), in which you need to write the name of the product, brand or brand you want to find. Since all users indicate names in English, it is advisable to conduct the search in this way. Next, you can select a category (2) and click “search” (3).

After you have entered the name of the product you are looking for in the search bar and clicked “search”, the system will select for you all the products that match your desires. For example, we wanted to find a “gold ring”. As you can see in the picture, on eBay there are 1,453,812 products that match this request. Each product (3) has a description, price, and reviews that you can read. It is clear that it is unrealistic to review them all. Therefore, the system offers various ways to simplify the search. You can sort products (1) by price, from low to high and vice versa, by date added, by popularity. eBay also offers popular subcategories (2) based on your request. We searched for “gold ring”, but the system suggests that we also look at “diamond ring”, “costume jewelry”, “designer rings”, etc.

Step 3. Evaluating the product and seller

And so, you have chosen the product you like. Next, go to the page of this product to read the description in more detail, see photos, find out delivery details and other sales features.

We continue to look at the product page using the example of a gold ring we liked. So, what will you see when you open the product page?

    • Photos (1). As a rule, good sellers try to add several photos of their product so that you can get the best idea of what it looks like.
    • Product classification. Depending on the group of products, you can select their specific characteristics. For example, with our ring you can choose the size (3) and color (2).
    • Number of pieces (4). If you want to buy more than one unit, then this can also be indicated. Choose as much as you want, the main thing is that you have enough money to pay for everything.
    • A very interesting thing is the number of products sold in the last hour (5). As you can see in the picture, in the last hour the ring we selected was sold 7 times. This means it is popular.
    • Price (6). How could there be no price? The seller must indicate the price. Moreover, you can see what the price was before, what the discount is now, how much you are saving, and the final price that will need to be paid.
    • Delivery (8). The question regarding delivery is very important. Some sellers offer free shipping, while others may charge you extra for shipping. All information regarding delivery is also on the product page (7). You need to read it carefully before making a payment. The seller may not ship to your country, or your region may not be eligible for free shipping.

Before making any purchase here or otherwise, it is very advisable to familiarize yourself with the description of delivery services, as well as customs nuances. At a minimum, it is worth remembering that there is a concept of a duty-free limit and for residents of the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan it is 1000 euros, for residents of Ukraine 200 euros, and for residents of Belarus - 120 euros. And the fact that courier services, such as FedEx, DHL, UPS, TNT, etc., are characterized by the high cost of international delivery and the fact that they often force their customers to fork out for customs clearance of goods, despite the fact that government postal services, such as USPS do not create such problems.

eBay is not just an online store, but a huge trading platform where hundreds of thousands of sellers present their products. Strange as it may seem, among them there are many unscrupulous ones, whose goal is not to sell goods, but to deceive the buyer. Therefore, after choosing a product, pay attention to the block with information about the seller (9). Read reviews, look at the rating, at its sales history. We wrote in more detail about how to choose a good seller in our article “”

    Step 4. Purchase of goods

You have found the product you need, read the delivery information, looked at the photo, and are absolutely sure that this is exactly what you need. Did you remember to research the seller? No? Well then, you can move on to the main thing – purchasing the goods.

On eBay, all goods are divided into two types: those that can be purchased immediately “Buy it Now”, and those that are put up for auction, where the sale is carried out according to the “who gives the most” type. Often these two types are combined. There is an auction, but anyone can buy the goods at a fixed price.

Trading on eBay is a completely separate issue. In a nutshell you cannot tell the whole art of trading, making the right bets, and buying good goods at a price significantly lower than the market price. More than one book has been written around the world regarding trading on eBay; hundreds, or even thousands, of successful buyers have their own blogs, where they tell the basics and secrets of how to make the right bid. We also studied this issue and wrote the article “Biding on eBay: how to make the right bid.”

Very often, residents of Ukraine, Russia and other CIS countries are faced with the fact that the seller does not deliver the goods to their country. If you try to place a bid on such a lot, or pay for an item, the system will not allow it. eBay will display a message notifying the buyer that the transaction failed. What to do in this case? You can place an order through intermediaries, who will receive the goods from the seller and send them to you. Read more about this type of cooperation in our article “Ebay Intermediaries: How to Choose the Right Intermediary”

When purchasing a product, you have three different options:

    • Independent purchase with direct delivery of goods. This is the most common option for purchasing items on eBay. The user selects the product, pays, and waits for the seller to send it to the specified address. But, as we wrote earlier, there are often cases that sellers do not deliver to the countries of the former USSR. What to do in such cases? There are 2 other options.
    • Independent purchase using the address provided by the forwarding company. Such a company, for a fee, provides the user with a box in its warehouse in the USA, where all parcels received in his name go. The user enters not his home address as the delivery address in his eBay account, but the one provided by the forwarder. And then he buys any goods, paying for them himself.

This kind of purchase can solve several problems at the same time. Firstly, you are no longer limited in your purchases. Choose any product and order it with confidence. Secondly, if you have made several purchases, you can combine them into one by removing excess packaging. International delivery of one large package will cost much less than ten small ones. This type of purchase is now more and more popular among our compatriots, especially those who buy often and a lot.

    • Purchase through an intermediary. This is the simplest option, but you will have to pay extra. The intermediary takes care of the purchase, payment and delivery of the goods. All you need to do is top up your account on the intermediary’s website and select the product you are interested in. The company will do the rest. It is clear that their services are not free, and cost a certain percentage of the purchase price. As a rule, such a commission does not exceed 10%.

    Step 5. Payment for purchase

The purchasing process is coming to an end. You have chosen the product, and all that’s left to do is pay. In one of the previous articles, we looked at payment methods on eBay. The auction provides many payment options for the product you have chosen, but the leader among all others is payment through.

    Step 6. Delivery of goods

Delivery of goods to Ukraine and Russia usually takes several weeks. Of course, if you pay for shipping, the seller can send it by international carrier, which will deliver your purchase in 2-3 days. But be prepared for the fact that it will cost a decent amount. If you have chosen a product with free shipping, then do not wait for your purchase before a couple of weeks.

Almost all postal items, depending on the delivery method, are insured for a certain amount. If desired, the buyer can ask the seller to purchase insurance for a larger amount. If the package was never received by the buyer, for example, it is lost or damaged, then he contacts the seller, who initiates the receipt of insurance compensation and compensates the buyer for the costs.

    Step 7. Receipt

And now the moment has come when the package arrives at your post office, and you, inspired, go to receive your long-awaited purchase. Many people, especially beginners, forget that they should always open the parcel right at the post office. Why is this being done? There are times when the seller confuses the goods and sends you the wrong one for which you paid. Or the purchase received is different from the one on the website. It is clear that you will want a refund or an exchange of the goods you do not need. All this can be done if you open, as a result of which you will need to prove that you are right.

Therefore, experienced buyers always take a photo and video camera with them to film the process of receiving and opening the parcel. These materials can become conclusive evidence that the product did not arrive as you ordered, or with certain defects and damage.

But we wish you that all your purchases are successful, and that you receive only pleasure and benefit from working with the largest online auction, eBay.

We want to make international shopping easier by connecting sellers and buyers around the world. We know how important it is for you to be able to make purchasing decisions using your own language. To do this, we try to translate information into many languages. In most cases, we can translate the product name, description, and purchase and payment information into your native language.

    How we translate information

For now, translation is not available on all pages, but their number is constantly growing, as is the number of translation languages.

To streamline this process, we sometimes use an automatic translation system known as “machine translation.” To display some information on a page in different languages (such as information included in an ad), we use machine translation from a variety of sources, including our own machine translation engine and Microsoft Translator (Bing).

We also use an automatic system to translate product names. You can rate the quality of the translation of the product name - to do this, hover your mouse over the name and select the required number of stars to rate.

    Language selection

If a translation of the page or ad is available in your language, you'll be able to select it.

Some pages require you to select a language at the top of the page.

In some ads, select the language in the product description itself.

    Terms of Use

eBay can use machine translation. The accuracy or availability of the translation is not guaranteed and correct understanding of the text is solely your responsibility. If there are discrepancies in the content of the original and the translation of the advertisement, the original version is the official version. eBay uses machine translation provided by third party companies such as Microsoft and others. Microsoft is not responsible for and makes no warranty regarding the quality of the translation or the expressed or implied meaning of the translation, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. .

Hello dear friends! Tell me, have you tried ordering goods online? I'm sure so... But today I will talk not just about an online store, of which there are already thousands, but about the most popular online auction called eBay.

Personally, I heard about Ebay for a very long time, but I actually started buying goods there relatively recently, about a year ago, and I’ll tell you that so far there hasn’t been a single failed deal.

The goods arrive, albeit with a delay, since the post office is not the fastest, but they are insured by the system and in case of any disputes you will get your money back.

eBay is the largest and most popular online auction of goods in the whole world.

Why haven't I bought items on eBay before? Because I didn’t know how to do it, because everything is in English, and you can’t pay directly through Yandex Money.

But in fact, there is nothing complicated there, as it seems, at first glance and below you will see for yourself.

The history of the eBay auction

eBay was not always as popular as it is now; the history of its creation is very banal. Back in 1995, a little-known entrepreneur, Pierre Omidyar, decided to create an online page.

According to one version, he published his articles there on the Ebola epidemic, and according to another, to help his wife exchange PEZ dispensers with other Internet collectors.

Initially the auction was called AuctionWeb and its creator realized for the first time that the hobby would become big business when he sold a non-working laser pointer for $13.83.

It would seem, who needs a broken thing? Naturally, Omidyar asked this question to the client and received the answer that the buyer simply collects faulty laser pointers.

Two years later, the name AuctionWeb changes to the now famous eBay, since this year Pierre Omidyar managed to tie the rapidly developing online auction to his company Echo Bay Technology Group.

The creator wanted the domain name to be similar to his company Echo Bay Technology Group, but the EchoBay.com domain was already taken and so the shortened version eBay.com was invented

Registering on eBay and setting up an account

Since 2012, it has become much easier for residents of Russia and the CIS countries to use the auction, since its Russian version has appeared, although not all sections have been fully translated, but gradually everything is moving towards this.

Therefore, we will register on the Russian version of the site, otherwise it will not work, since your location is automatically determined by IP address.

So, go to the address www.ebay.com and eBay should appear in front of you in all its glory.

If suddenly the site is displayed in English, then hurry up to change it to Russian using the corresponding tab in the upper right corner.

Having familiarized yourself with the site, let's create a user account by clicking on the link in the upper left corner “Register”.

On the next page a standard form will appear with user registration data and a “Submit” button to confirm registration.

Important! Fill out the user data only in Latin (English) letters in Russian. See the example in the photo above.

If everything is done correctly, a welcome message will appear for the new user.

Once in your account settings, go to the “Addresses” section, and then click “Create” for each of them.

A similar form will appear, as when registering an account, where we fill in information about our place of residence.

Important! You must fill out the data, especially the delivery address, exclusively in Latin (English) letters in Russian. Please note that the parcel will be sent from different countries and people must understand at what address they are waiting for it.

If your registration address is different from your delivery address, then change the latter.

At this point, registering an eBay account is completed, and you can proceed to searching for a product for further purchase.

PayPal - registration and card linking

You can pay for goods on eBay: directly with the seller by payment card, bank transfer or using the PayPal payment system.

The advantage of PayPal is that it 100% insures the purchased product and in case of any problems (the parcel did not arrive or the wrong product was sent), you can open a dispute in the system, thereby returning the money to your account.

Having opened an account on PayPal, you must link to it any bank card (ruble or dollar) intended for payment on the Internet, usually Visa or MasterCard.

Let's start creating an account in the payment system. To do this, follow the link www.paypal.com and if you are a resident of Russia, the Russian version of the site will appear.

On the right at the top of the site we find the “Register” button; if you are from another country, then there will be an English “Sign Up”.

The next step is to fill out a form with user data.

Important! Registration data must be filled in only in Latin (English) letters in Russian. Also keep in mind that these data must completely match the data of the bank card that you will link. So you won’t be able to use someone else’s card, for example your husband or wife.

Once registration is complete, all that remains is to link the card to your PayPal account.

To do this, go to your user account and select the “Profile” section in the menu, and then from the drop-down list “Add or change a bank card”.

My screenshots are slightly different from yours, because for residents of Belarus the site is only available in English, and the browser translator leaves much to be desired.

Then a field should appear with information about the card being added. Depending on which card you choose, the fields may vary. But the main thing to remember is that everything must be entered in Latin (English) letters.

Pay attention to the CSC field. This is a three-digit code that is located on the back of the card.

To remove limits from payments made, you need to go through the verification procedure of the linked card, for which in your statement of outgoing card accounts, find the one where the amount of $ 1.95 was written off and its note like 1235PAYPAL.

The first 4 digits will be the verification code that must be entered into your payment system account.

Search for a product and make a purchase on eBay

Well, now we get to the most interesting part - searching and purchasing goods. Looking ahead, it’s worth saying that on eBay you have the opportunity to find absolutely any thing for relatively little money.

Personally, I start searching for the desired item directly from the search bar, which is located on all auction pages. But if you want to see the entire list of products, then use the categories.

On eBay you will find: goods at a fixed price, which can be purchased immediately, and lots for which a real auction is organized.

For example, I don’t participate in auctions, but they are held according to this principle. The buyer must set the maximum bid for the item; no one else sees it.

Let's say a lot costs $5, and you specified a maximum bid of $30, then the cost of the lot will be automatically increased by an auction step of $1, which depends on the cost of the item itself.

After your bid, the item will cost $6. The next buyer comes and places his maximum bid of $20. What he sees is that his bid is not the maximum for the lot, so he can refuse to trade, or raise the bid until it becomes $31.

After which he will see a message from the auction that this is the maximum bid for the lot.

Now you are joining the fight again, because you will receive a message in the mail that your maximum bid has been outbid.

You decide to continue the auction or stop. If you continue, you increase your maximum bet, for example to $60.

Now the auction step will be added to the last maximum bid and the lot will cost $32.

There are exclusive lots on Ebay that attract serious bidding. All the heat takes place at the very end of the allotted time for the auction, when bids are placed in the last seconds.

Therefore, there are special “Snipers” services on the network that automatically outbid other bids at the end of the auction.

In order not to participate in auctions, I buy goods with a fixed price, for which I select “Buy now” when searching for advertisements.

Once you find yourself in the product card, do not rush to order it, be sure to read the description of the product, which will not be in Russian, use a dictionary or the built-in translator of your browser.

If this is the product you need, then now you should pay attention to several points:

Delivery. Check to see if the seller ships to your area and charges you for it. Everything is indicated in the “Delivery and Payment” section.

I noticed that for some reason a lot of goods from Western Europe are not sent to Russia and the CIS countries, and if they are sent, then at a price that exceeds the cost of the goods.

If the delivery does not include your region, you can contact the seller and ask in correspondence to send the goods to your address, although such delivery will be paid.

I don’t really want to bother with payment when receiving the goods, so when searching for ads, I specify the sorting “By price + shipping: ascending.” Thereby selecting products with free delivery and the lowest price.

There is an ironclad rule to buy products from those who have a review rating of more than 1000, of which at least 99% are positive reviews.

Go to the seller's profile by clicking on their name or number of reviews and see how long this person has been working with eBay and what buyers say about him.

In systems like Ebay, reviews are of great importance, and the seller values each of them. Therefore, it makes sense to listen to what customers write about.

If everything is satisfactory, then click “Buy now” and proceed to checkout.

In the window that opens, we make sure for the last time that we are buying exactly the product, what type of delivery it has, to what address it will be sent and the final price.

If everything is correct, click continue with PayPal.

Before purchasing, make sure that the desired roller is selected and click “Confirm and Pay”.

After this, the amount for purchasing the item on eBay will be debited from your bank card.

If you want to check the status of your order, go to “My eBay” via the pop-up link in the upper right corner of the site. In the “Orders” tab we see that two days after payment for the goods, the seller successfully sent it to the buyer.

Now all that remains is to wait until the treasured package arrives. From my experience, I will say that I received the goods as quickly as possible only after three weeks, but a long parcel took me almost two months.

A lot depends on the work of the postal services, and in Russia the post office is a thing, and on how long the goods will be processed at customs.

For those who don’t know, absolutely all foreign parcels go through customs. And if the cost of the parcel exceeds 1000 euros plus delivery costs, and the weight does not exceed 31 kilograms, then such a parcel is subject to payment of customs duty.

Customs duty is calculated at 30% of the amount exceeding 1000 euros. If the cost of the parcel is 2000 euros, then the customs duty is 1000 euros, that is, 30% of it.

    So be careful.

I would be glad to hear from readers whether you have had experience purchasing goods at the most famous auction? Maybe someone managed to participate in the auction?

    That's all, see you soon!
