    Of course, we decided to keep it simple and downloaded BioniX (look here - http://zonafile.ru/). But they say that Stardock works noticeably better and never puts GIFs on top of desktop icons. But BioniX has such a sin, because this program can only be used if the live screensaver is made from a small GIF file that does not need to be stretched to fill the entire screen. BioniX has the option “paint below desktop icons”, but, as it turned out, in practice it significantly loads the PC’s RAM. Oh well.

    This means a live screensaver from a GIF file in Windows 8.1. Let's do it!

    BioniX, despite the mentioned drawback, also has a significant advantage: the program works with virtually all versions of Windows, including the new 8.1.

    Once installed, the application begins to function separately from the Windows wallpaper installation tool. Launch BioniX, go to the Tools menu and click Wallpaper animator.

    Next, you need to specify the path to the folder where our GIF files are stored and select the desired one. The live screensaver is immediately activated and begins to be displayed on the computer desktop (however, not all animations are shown on the second screen, some work only on the main screen).

    We also note that in BioniX you can choose at what speed, quality and size the live screensaver will be shown. After completing the setup, the application window can be minimized, after which it will automatically jump to the tray. Then, to remove the live screensaver or install a new one, you just need to click on the icon with the red dragon (by the way, BioniX also has a regular desktop icon).
