Mods are one of the most important additions to absolutely any game. And Minecraft is no exception, because this game has captivated millions of human minds, and mods can complement its gameplay and make it even more attractive for modern gamers. But many beginners are faced with the problem of installing mods, and to their credit, this issue is still open. So, how to install the mod on Minecraft correctly so that no problems arise?..
Detailed video about the correct installation of mods for minecraft
If the video does not load or there are difficulties, read the instructions.
- Before you start installing a mod for the game, you must check the version of Minecraft installed on your PC and the mod. The point is that they match 1.5.2 for 1.5.2, 1.6.4 for 1.6.4 and so on - this is necessary for the installed mod to work correctly.
- Also, before starting the installation, you need to ask what programs will be needed to install this or that mod, since there are quite a lot of them - it simply doesn’t make sense to describe everything. To obtain the relevant information, you just need to type the name of the mod into one of the search engines.
In general, in most cases the following programs will be suitable: ModLoader or Forge.
Using Forge
Using the Forge program, you can install mods either manually or automatically, it’s up to you. For automatic installation you need:
- First, download the required version of the program that matches the version of the game; it is better to do this on the official website. Remember that if you are interested in automatic installation, then you need to download a file called “installer”. Usually the recommended version is indicated directly on the official website, and it is best to download it, because it is the most stable and bug-free.
- Then you need to run the file that you downloaded. Just click "OK" and wait for the process to complete.
- After that, launch the launcher and select the required profile with the version suitable for Forge. Wait a bit. That's all, the necessary mod is installed.
Manual installation using Forge is a bit outdated, but if you want to install the mod on Minecraft this way, then do the following:
- On the official website, download the version of Forge that matches your version of Minecraft.
- Open the file called “minecraft.jar”, for this we need an archiver. If you have it installed, then everything is fine, you can move on to the next step, but if not, then you need to download and install it. To simplify this operation, you can simply enter the following type of inscription “download archiver” into the search bar, absolutely any will do, then go to one of the links and download it. As a rule, this does not take much time; all that remains is to install it on your PC, after which you can successfully open this file.
- The file we need to open is located in the system folder of your operating system. If you have Windows 7 or Windows Vista installed, the path will be “C:/Users/”User name”/AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/bin”. If you are still using Windows XP, then "C:/Documents and Settings/"User name"/Application Data/.minecraft/bin". Important: “User name” indicates the name of your profile on your PC.
- Next, you need to open the archive in Forge and copy the files there into “minecraft.jar”.
- After this action you need to launch MineCraft. Forge will automatically scan the game files and even create a special folder called “mods”. That's all, now you can use your favorite mods.
Using ModLoader
To install mods in the Minecraft game using the ModLoader program, you need to do the following:
- Download the required version of the program that matches the version of the game installed on your PC. It is also recommended to do this from the official website of the program, so as not to pick up various types of viruses.
- Open the file called “minecraft.jar” using some archiver, if you don’t have one, then the solution to this problem was described above. The file location was also indicated for various OSs a little higher.
- After this, all that remains is to move all the files from the archive with the ModLoader program to “minecraft.jar”.
- Now you need to open the archive with the mod necessary for installation and copy the files from it to “minecraft.jar”.
There are, of course, mods for Minecraft that do not require the installation of various third-party programs. Very often, their installation is prescribed separately on the page where the mod itself is located. And the specifics are slightly different from the standard mod installation.
When downloading mods from third-party resources for the game Minecraft, it is recommended to beware of malware, which, in turn, can cause significant harm to your personal computer. Also keep in mind that some mods can successfully conflict with each other, since they are created on the same platform, for this reason even the game can, roughly speaking, “be covered.” Therefore, if you like to “play around” with mods, then make a Minecraft Backup from time to time. And, of course, you cannot install a mod if its version is different from the version installed on your PC of Minecraft. Nothing good will come of this.

- minecraftWorlds- purpose: for installation
- resource_packs- purpose: for installation or texture mods
9. Textures for the mod have been added, now it's time for the behavior package. To install this file type, go to the "Downloads" folder again, copy "More Chairs by Genta". And again in the folder with, namely “/games/com.mojang/”, where you will find the “behavior_packs folder” folder, where you paste the previously copied folder.
10. Launch Minecraft PE.
You need to create a new world or edit an old one.
11. As usual, select all the necessary settings and click Resource Packs where you need to select More Chairs Add-on.
12. Well, after that, as you guessed, select Behavior Packs and accept More Chairs Add-on.
