    All operating systems (including all generations of Windows) have a function whose task is to launch user applications immediately after loading the OS. In most cases, the list of applications in startup changes without user intervention. Many programs automatically add themselves to startup at the installation stage.

    To view and edit the list of automatically downloaded applications in Windows, just do the following:

    • Press "Win + R" keys.
    • Enter the command "msconfig" in the window, click "OK".
    • The System Configuration utility opens.
    • Go to the "Startup" tab. If the operation is performed in Windows 10, then the “Open task manager” element will be displayed in the tab - click on it.

    Low system disk space

    Littered registry

    Getting rid of all the junk is an important step towards stable operation of your laptop. If you frequently install and uninstall programs, the number of unnecessary entries in the registry grows greatly, and this affects the work.     As for virtual disks and drives, you need to leave only those that you often use or even turn them on only when necessary.

    When we talk about lazy loading, we mean a setting in which programs that are mandatory, from the user’s point of view, to start automatically start a little later than the system itself. By default, Windows launches all applications at once whose shortcuts are located in the Startup folder or whose keys are registered in a special registry section. This creates increased resource consumption and long wait times.

    1. Before setting up lazy loading for any program, you must first remove it from startup (see articles on loading acceleration at the links above).
