• Review of spare parts for Eachine H8 Mini Headless Mode quadcopter. Syma quadcopters - tips, features and tricks

    Hello, pilot! I see that you are still completely unfamiliar with the topic of copters, since you came across this article. No problem, we'll fix that soon. In the meantime, let's talk about what you will simply need, at least in your first aircraft. We will talk about the beginner mode, also known as headless mode.

    The drone can not only receive any commands, but also process them through the algorithms embedded in it. IN in this case we will talk about one of these. Headless (sometimes called cf mode) will make it easier for you to master piloting and reduce the likelihood of mistakes.

    This mode is usually found in quiet devices, such as selfie drones or drones for photography. This is especially necessary in them, because it helps to more accurately position the copter in flight and concentrate on shooting.

    Also, if the drone has a small flight radius, then due to your mistake it may lose contact and simply crash.

    In the meantime, in order to understand what headless is, you need to imagine how the drone works in normal mode.

    How drone orientation works in normal mode

    So, imagine that you are flying your aircraft in normal mode. You place it in front of you, nose first. You take off, tilt the stick away from you, and the drone flies forward away from you. Then you tilt it back and it flies back at you. It's simple. Right = right, left = left.

    The problems start when you tilt the stick towards you and the drone flies behind you. After that, you turn around, want it to fly further, tilt the stick away from you, and the drone flies joyfully and squealing into your face... it’s offensive, it hurts.

    What is the difficulty of management?

    The problem is that the quadcopter has a coordinate system. For simplicity, let's denote it as (X;Y;Z). Let's arrange them like this, X is directed towards the nose, Y is from right to left, and Z is from bottom to top. The same thing applies to the remote control. When you push the right stick forward, you tell the drone to “move forward on the X axis,” which it does.

    Let's go back to the example. You always have to keep this in mind, which is quite difficult. The orientation in space has changed, and now the control of the drone is inverted. Since you have swapped places with him, X is now directed at you, and the command that comes is clearly executed, without taking into account your location. Left = right, forward = backward, and vice versa.

    What is Headless mode

    Headless mode is a function that replaces the drone's coordinate system with the remote control's coordinate system. Now we will consider the front part of the remote control to be the “nose”, and if you tilt the stick forward, the command “fly forward along the X axis” will come, which will make the drone fly away from you. It's that simple.

    Analogues of Headless mode

    The headless mod has no analogues. This is not a function of the firmware or any controller. This is technology. It can be implemented in different ways, but that doesn’t change its name.

    Nuances

    There aren't that many of them.

    Most importantly, don’t forget to turn it on! Activation occurs before the copter is turned on. Usually, there is a trigger on the back of the remote control. We move it to the desired position and launch the quadric itself.

    The main thing is that models with this control mode will cost a little more. However, it will differ not only in this, but also in the controller, and, most likely, in quality. Therefore, the expense is completely justified. If you are looking for a not quite toy option, then be sure to look with a headless mod.

    This mod is also not needed and is contraindicated when using FTP glasses. These are the glasses that are usually equipped with racing drones, they allow you to look at the world “from the eyes” of the aircraft. As you already understand, then your coordinate system (which you feel) coincides with the axes of the device.

    And of course, “not hardcore!” I don’t consider this a minus, but I can’t help but mention it. Flying with this control, you will not be able to learn how to fly a copter without it. Even if this is an extremely useless skill in our time. Almost any serious device has headless mode.

    Reviews

    All reviews of copters with headless mode look something like this.

    Eachine H8 Mini is a good drone for a beginner. You can hone your controls on it before taking on larger devices. I often hear that people immediately take large quadcopters and complain that they are difficult to control, they fall, and so on. This one can be hit, dropped, and not be afraid of anything.

    I don’t see any point in giving more examples, because this is the only position that exists, and it’s damn correct.

    Mini models are increasingly appearing on the market, and quadcopters Headless Mode It is precisely intended to bring joy to lovers of such devices.

    Brief overview of the multicopter

    What could be more interesting than organizing a real sports festival in your apartment on a cold winter day, and if the space does not allow for big races, then flying a mini-quadcopter can always be done. has standard sizes as for kids, perhaps even a little smaller, and copes well with sharp turns. The cost of a drone is so ridiculous that you can buy several at once and start battles with your family members, if, of course, they support your hobby.

    This model is also suitable for those pilots who doubt whether it is worth spending money on small drones and for pilots who are just setting out on this interesting path. Since the company Eachine is no longer a newcomer to the market of unmanned aerial vehicles, you can find its products on the shelves not only of online stores, but also in the nearest sports markets specializing in the sale of such equipment.

    How often do you fly your quadcopter?

    A significant advantage of purchasing from such a place is that you will not need to wait for delivery at all and you will be able to personally verify the functionality and assembly before paying. Minus such an acquisition is the cost, which will be completely different from what you could see on the Internet, and if you buy several drones at once, it will not be very pleasant.

    An excellent alternative is to purchase from one of the online stores located in the Republic of China, since the cost of the product in such places will be minimal.

    There is nothing complicated about it, watch the training videos, of which there are a huge number on the Internet, select one of the resources and purchase the product. Please be aware that delivery will take some time. from two to four weeks, depending on where you live, so there will be plenty of time to explore.

    Due to its size and dense original box, the drone is practically not needed additional protection during transportation, so most often the parcel arrives in a special envelope with “pimples”, which is quite enough. The most that can happen is a slight creasing of the edges.

    The box itself has blue-black colors, where on the main cover there is a drawing of our multicopter, its name and brand, as well as a description of the main modes and functions. On the side there is a description of the operation of the transmitter and warning information.

    Everything is practical, convenient and ergonomic. Having opened the box, we immediately see both the drone and the control headset, several accompanying elements, which we will consider in a little more detail, taking the time to complete the manufacturer’s equipment.

    Speaking of functionality, let's say that there are no frills here and the quadcopter is intended only for flight. On board you will not find a camera or any special functions. For a more complete picture, we should consider its parameters and capabilities, so let’s list the characteristics that the manufacturer gives us.

    Model Description:

    • Full brand name - ;
    • Possible colors when ordering – white, black;
    • Communication range with the transmitter is up to 30 meters;

    • Estimated cost is about 830 rubles.

    The appearance is practically no different from similar models. In the central part there is a cabin, from the corners of which rays diverge, forming a standard X-shape when viewed from above. At the end there are crucible power units in a vertical position, and propellers are tightly mounted on the rotors. The boxes have protection mounting points. The power battery is located at the bottom in a protective box and can be quickly replaced.

    The central plate is the size of the entire body and when you attach the top and bottom of the cabin with metal screws, you also secure it at the same time. There are no landing devices, and they are not needed in this product.

    He runs great by hand. They spoil it a little appearance The power wires are in the back, but there’s no getting around it, and they don’t interfere during flight.

    Functional features:

    • Return mode;
    • Headless Mode
    • In memory of a 360 degree somersault;
    • Sufficient structural strength;
    • Side lights (4 diodes).

    The main function here is undoubtedly the mode Headless, which speaks about simple operation. Those who are unfamiliar with this technique should appreciate it, because it is quite difficult to immediately learn to determine the bow and stern, so the main control errors are associated with this. The mode allows you to control in such a way that the part facing you is always the stern, which makes control as if from yourself and significantly reduces the risk of collision.

    A somersault will always please the audience, because with the lights on in a dark room, it looks very impressive.

    Spare parts

    When flying, there is always a risk of collision, which can lead to breakage of components, and although the material is quite durable, no one is immune from this. Also, if you do not follow the flight rules and drop the drone into an aggressive environment for it, without subsequent technical control, you can damage it. electronic circuit. There is nothing wrong with this, because the manufacturer took care of this and released a lot of spare parts on the market, using which you can even completely assemble the drone.

    Joystick control

    This device cannot be called a full-fledged control panel, because its appearance most closely resembles a joystick game console, which fans will really like computer games. For such a model, where functionality is reduced to a minimum, it fits perfectly. Having an ergonomic and small shape, you can easily reach all the buttons without difficulty, even moving the control joysticks to the most distant points will not pose any problems.

    The joysticks and buttons are made of high-quality material, and the technological holes in which they are installed have smoothed edges, which prevents them from sticking when returning. The joystick material itself is modern High-Tec plastic, durable and soft, which is exactly what the multicopter itself is made of.

    The principle of its operation is simple. When turned on, as indicated by the red LED above the on/off button, a secure radio frequency channel is created where signals are transmitted to receiver quadcopter. The channel does not receive other frequency commands from similar devices, which makes the control responsive and controllable.

    If it breaks, you can use any similar one from others similar devices- they are completely interchangeable. If you don’t have one, you’ll have to fork out a little.

    Specification:

    • Name – remote control joystick;
    • Material – durable modern plastic;
    • Color – black, matte;
    • The cost of the product is within 450 rubles.

    Bottom case cover

    During long-term use, various things can happen, even a breakdown such as a crack in the bottom cover, although this is quite difficult to prevent. But situations are different, and if you need such a replacement, then there is no problem.

    When replacing, pay attention to the tightening force of the fastening element, because the mounting sockets are plastic and with excessive force you can easily damage them.

    Description:

    • Name – lower body frame;
    • Color marking – black;
    • Color – black;
    • The estimated cost of the kit is 125 rubles.

    Electric motor

    Powerful commutator power plants are ideally suited for such quadcopters. Installing brushless systems is neither cost effective nor necessary.

    Yes, there is a possibility that with prolonged and constant use the plastic gears on which the propellers fit will wear out, but this is not a big problem - we advise you to purchase them immediately when ordering the product. IN ideal- buy spare metal ones.

    Engines have a longer service life, so when one of them reaches the end of its service life, we recommend replacing all four, then the replacement will not affect the control. When ordering spare parts, be careful, because due to the design of the drone itself, they have different sides rotation of torque elements.

    The direction can be determined by the color of the supply wires: the right side has a white/black wire, the left side has a black/red wire.

    Specification:

    • Name - electric motors;
    • Type – collector;
    • Material – plastic, metal;
    • Set - 4 pcs. (2 + 2 CW CCW);
    • The price of a complete set is about 510 rubles.

    Information!All the data we provide is taken from the online store banggood.com, where when you order three units or more, you have the opportunity to get a good discount and a number of cumulative bonuses.

    Propellers

    The structure of the blades is quite rigid, this is done taking into account their rapid rotation. Although the plastic is durable, in some circumstances, when you don’t fit into one of the turns, you maximum speed If you come across a hard surface, there is a very high probability of them breaking.

    For this purpose, the kit includes two spare ones, but believe me, this will not be enough for you. And although they have good repairability and can be glued together with strong glue, you understand that with the next, even minimal contact, the propeller will be damaged again.

    Order several sets at once and believe me, you will not regret this purchase.

    When installing, also pay attention to the sides of rotation and install in accordance with the movements of the electric motor rotors!

    Specification:

    • Name – supporting propellers;
    • Color – white;
    • Material – modern plastic alloys;
    • Set – 4 units;
    • The cost of the set is approximately 120 rubles.

    Battery kit

    A profitable purchase that will help you constantly be in the air, spending a few seconds on replacement. When you buy five units, you save money, and believe me, this is a profitable purchase.

    With six permanently replaceable batteries on hand and charging block with several batteries, you will not feel any embarrassment. This is especially good for aircraft modeling clubs, where the charge of one battery is just enough for a student to get acquainted with the quadcopter.

    Description:

    • Brand – Eachine;
    • Type – based on lithium polymer components;
    • Wire length – 3 centimeters;
    • Capacity – 150 mAh;
    • Flight – 7 minutes;
    • Charge – 20 minutes;
    • Weight – 5.7 grams;
    • Dimensions – 27x17x7 mm;
    • Set – 5 units;
    • The cost of the set is about 950 rubles.

    Before takeoff, make sure that the synchronization between the transmitter and the drone is successful, which will be indicated by the LEDs blinking. Read the instructions and make sure you understand all the control buttons. Always follow the rules stated in the manual.

    Timely maintenance is mandatory after each flight. visual inspection and removing harmful accumulations of dust and moisture. Do not allow storage without removing them.

    If you are flying outdoors, it is best to do this in sunny, calm weather, because sharp gusts of wind can simply blow away the multicopter. Also make sure there is no electrical noise that could be caused by high voltage wires, which could lead to misuse and possible damage.

    Storage is best done in a special protective box, which is made of aluminum, plastic and a top protective screen.

    It makes it look beautiful on your shelf and at the same time is reliably protected from harmful elements. When transporting in this design, you do it safely, and always have all the spare parts and repair kit on hand.

    Brief review of the Eachine H8 drone Mini Headless Mode

    So, you bought one of the Syma quadcopters and have already made your first flights. Most likely you will have a number of questions about flight and setup. In this article we will look at the main features, show you a few tricks and help you enjoy your flight!

    1. How to control a Syma quadcopter

    The most important thing you need to know is the control panel. Here are the main buttons:

    To enable Syma you need:

    1. Switch the shutter on the quadcopter to the On state
    2. Enable control panel
    3. Pull the left stick up and down all the way
    4. The quadcopter is ready to fly

    The Y axis of the left stick is responsible for the speed (gas) and, accordingly, the lift height. The X axis of the left stick is rotation. Right stick - tilt left/right and forward/backward.

    2. How to turn on the camera

    Syma quadcopters use only 2 methods of camera control (depending on the model):

    1. From the remote control (the camera records to a memory card, models without wifi FPV)
    2. Via an application from a smartphone (models with wifi FPV)

    The camera on non-FPV Syma models is enabled by default when the camera cable is inserted into the quadcopter. To take a photo, press the photo/video button on the remote control up once. To turn on video recording, press the same button down 1 time; to turn it off, press down again. Unfortunately, there are no indicators, so you will have to remember which position the button is in.

    To enable WiFi camera on Syma models with FPV, download the app " Syma FPV"for a smartphone with the App Store or Google Play. Next, launch the application, turn on WiFi in the phone settings and connect to the quadcopter’s Wi-Fi (the name will make it clear), after turning on the quadcopter itself. Return to the application and use the appropriate buttons to take photos or record videos on your smartphone .

    3. How to set up and calibrate

    If your quadcopter rolls to one side during takeoff or you notice unstable flight, try resetting the settings. To do this:

    1. Place the quadcopter on a flat surface and turn on
    2. down - left all the way and wait a couple of seconds - the gyroscope will calibrate
    3. Pull the left and right sticks simultaneously down-right all the way and wait a couple of seconds - the accelerometer will calibrate

    If that doesn't help, try trimming. Trimming is an increase or decrease in the speed of certain motors.

    • Ruder trimmer - if the front of the quad tilts to the right, you need to trim it to the left; if it goes to the left, trim it to the right
    • Pitch trimmer - if it leans forward, you need to trim it back, when going back, trim it forward
    • Roll trimmer - if the quadcopter turns to the right, then you need to trim it to the left, if it turns to the left, trim it to the right

    4. How to enable Headless mode

    If you suddenly cannot cope with the controls or confuse the axes, Headless mode will help you. It allows you to ignore the quadcopter’s axes and, when moving the right stick “towards you,” tilt the drone back (that is, it will fly home).

    To enable this mode during a flight, press right top button.

    5. How to do flips

    Flip - flip 360 degrees along any of the 4 axes (forward, backward, right, left). To perform this trick, during a stable flight, you need to hold down the upper right button (on the top side) and while holding it, pull the right stick in the desired direction.

    6. How to fly faster and more aggressively

    By default, Syma quadcopters have 2 consumable modes:

    1. High - increased speed, the quadcopter is more maneuverable and sensitive
    2. Low - lower speed for more measured control

    Switching of these modes is carried out using the control panel - left button (assembly on top). The mode indicator is displayed on the remote control screen ( H - high, L - low).

    In addition, you can remove the camera, legs and blade protection - the quad will be even more maneuverable because weight will be reduced and air resistance will be reduced.

    7. How to fly longer

    Here are a few options to help you extend the life of your copter:

    • Remove the camera, legs and blade guards
    • Deliver more capacious battery
    • Buy them, charge them and change them as needed
    • Fly in Low mode (low speed)
    • Switch trimmers to zero positions
    • Keep the quadcopter at the same height, avoiding sudden take-offs

    8. The propellers are spinning, but the quadcopter does not take off.

    A common problem is when the motors work correctly, but the quadcopter refuses to take off. The cause in 99% of cases is incorrect installation blades. Most likely you have not installed one of the propellers correctly. Here correct scheme installation using Syma X5C as an example:

    Propellers differ in the position of the fin. Identical propellers must be installed diagonally.

    Suggest tips and other features in the comments, we will add them to the article!

    Good day, dear modelers! Today I will tell you about the HT F801C quadcopter that recently arrived to me. The brand was unknown to me before, but as it turned out, it was actually quite good. I have a lot of quadcopters, so there will be a little comparison.

    The copter arrived really big, I was even a little surprised. Look for yourself. Photo comparing sizes with the rest of my small planes.

    But let's look at the packaging first. Here you can see some minor damage to the box when sent by mail. The manufacturer also indicates that this model Intended for children at least 14 years of age. The packaging and color are also indicated on the side. In my case, red and with a camera.

    Let's open the box and see the contents.

    Equipment:

    Copter
    - equipment (remote control)
    - USB charger lace
    - battery (650 mAh, 3.7 volts)
    - memory card (4 GB)
    - spare screws
    - screw protection
    - card reader, very convenient, by the way
    - screwdriver, screws and replacement stick attachments
    - camera (1.0 mp)
    - removable chassis
    - instructions (normal English and Chinese)

    They put a 4 GB noname card. The class is also unknown; only the capacity is written on the card itself. No more identification marks.

    The camera is removable. This is good, since it did not have to be torn out of the body, as in Habsan.

    Battery 650 mAh, single-cell LiPo.

    The connector is not the same as that of Habsan, but Imax has such a cord included in the kit. This is good, since you can charge not only with the original charger. I don’t have Imax, so it’s something like this.
    Copter. Really big. Although it depends on what you compare it to.

    It's such a monster with defense! To be honest, I only wore it for photography. With it there is more windage and weight. In general, I don't need it. The protection fits into the grooves and is screwed with the supplied bolts.

    Let's take a closer look at the copter.

    The battery fits tightly into the body of the copter and is closed with a convex cap along with the power wires. It’s difficult to pull it out later, but there’s enough space inside.
    The thrust is transmitted to the propellers using gears. The engine power gear is metal. The big one is plastic. The copter is noisy too, all because of the same gears. The propellers spin much slower than direct drive quads. Because of this, in the photo it seems that the copter’s blades do not spin during flight. The props themselves are made of very light plastic and bend very well.
    Camera. It's sad. I'll be brief. The camera takes poor pictures and is not worth the money. The package with the camera, as I wrote above, costs 12 bucks more, which is a lot for such a camera. The camera module itself is removable, the head rotates approximately 60-70 degrees. A flash drive is inserted at the back; photo and video recording is controlled from the remote control, which is convenient. You can check out the video for yourself. I apologize for the stupid look (I was talking to myself) I was filming the flight itself at the same time. I don’t have a special mount for my head, I had to attach it to my hat with the included clothespin)))

    Several photos of the control panel.

    The remote control is standard, nothing new. I would like to note that the screen is exactly the same as my old copy of Habsan with a camera. The remote control shows the positions of the trimmers, the gas state (in percentage), and also displays the expert mode (if enabled). Gas on the left (mode 2). You can press the trimmers by clicking on the left one - the video recording starts, and the remote control beeps obnoxiously. By clicking on the right one, we take a photo. There are also two buttons on the top. The left one changes the costs with a short press; by the way, there are three modes, which makes the copter quite fast. Also by clicking on left button long - headless mode is activated. Right - flips.
    When I picked up the remote control for the first time, I heard a rattling sound inside. That is, something fell off inside. Let's sort it out, at the same time you can look at the giblets =)

    And here is the culprit of the rattling - the little white crap on the left. I still don’t understand where it fell off from. But this does not affect the work.

    I'm not an electronics engineer. From contemplating the board, I realized that it is powered by 6 volts, and that there are seats for some other devices. By the way, it runs on rechargeable batteries (1.2 volts). You can see a little on the board poor quality soldering of parts.
    Let's talk about the copter itself and its performance characteristics.
    There is a Headless mode. To put it simply, the copter is always turned backwards towards the pilot. In theory, this should make management a lot easier. But here everything is different. Turn it on during the flight this mode by holding down the top left button and the copter simply starts flying in the direction from which it was launched. I tried it - it works. But this mode seemed useless to me.

    The biggest plus of this device is that it elevated my action camera!

    Test flight video. I raised it to 50-60 meters and couldn’t see the copter further.

    Let's summarize. A good copter for the money. If you take my advice and buy without a camera. He doesn’t need it, especially of this quality. At first glance, the device seems fragile, but it is not. Fell several times, everything is intact. I was surprised by the hover time; more than one small plane has not flown for so long.
    Among the minuses, I would like to note a lot of flashing LEDs, which are not needed during the day, but there is no way to turn them off. It would be better if the blades were made in different colors.
    Thanks everyone for your attention! I welcome criticism, I will answer all questions, without exception!

    And one more thing. The store is young and just showers with discounts))) They gave me a coupon F801CCY, price less than 5 dollars.

    Mini quadcopter "Lightning Bird" with Headless mode tuaps1nets writes on January 17, 2015

    V646 2.4G Super Mini UFO Left Hand Throttle Headless Mode Quadcotper RTF RC Toy -Yellow/Green - $20.34
    Product received free of charge for review.

    Hello, dear readers, “Again” or “Again” you will say when you see a review of the next miniquadcopter. There are already a lot of reviews of similar “flying flies”, but there are not so many such “flies” with the Headless function.
    In the review I will try to demonstrate what this baby can do, what this Headless function is and how it works, how it can somersault, how the screws (propellers) differ from each other, I will also look inside both the remote control and the copter, and it turns out there’s even its own gyroscope There is!!!

    What is a quadcopter? It is an aircraft with 4 rotors rotating diagonally in opposite directions. And it was invented and tested already in 1922 by a Russian engineer who emigrated to the USA, Georgy Aleksandrovich Botezat. This is what he looked like:

    Our copter “Lightning bird” from the manufacturer WLtoys is much smaller. Packed in a fairly presentable looking box:

    Inside which are:

    - quadcopter;
    - control panel;
    - charger from USB;
    - 4 spare propellers (propellers);
    - operating instructions.
    Everything is not just miniature, but tiny. The weight of the “Lightning Bird” is only 13 grams. The remote control is about 110 grams.
    Let's take a closer look at the remote control:

    Everything here is pretty standard:
    - power switch;
    - left stick for adjusting the thrust of the propellers, as well as for rotating the copter left and right;
    - right stick to control movement back and forth, left and right;
    - 2 trims forward-backward and left-right;
    - mode selection button (left top corner). This button changes the degree of responsiveness of the copter to movements with the right stick. When turned on, a “soft” mode is set in which the copter processes commands more smoothly. After pressing the button once, the copter’s response becomes sharper, and when pressed again it returns to the “soft” mode.
    - somersault button (upper right corner). When you press it, the copter independently performs a somersault in the direction in which the right stick is turned;
    - compartment for 2 AA batteries (fixed with a self-tapping screw).
    Let's take a look inside:

    Commands from sticks and buttons are processed by an unnamed chip and sent to the 2.4 gigahertz A7105 transceiver.
    Let's take a look at the quadcopter:

    On the top side printed circuit board The quadcopter contains a charging connector and 3 microcircuits:
    - A7105 - the same as in the 2.4 GHz remote control;
    - MPU6050 - 3-axis gyroscope-accelerometer;
    - F050K4 - 32-bit ARM microcontroller.
    On the bottom side there are 4 power transistors that control the motors, a switch and Li-Ion battery at 100 mAh.
    Yes, this is not a radio-controlled car, it’s quite a SMART device.
    I don’t think it’s worth telling how to operate the device. The video below is more informative in this case.
    As promised, a few words about Headless mode. To turn it on, you need to lower both sticks down and move them to the corners. If the function is activated, the aircraft's LEDs will begin to blink. After this, it doesn’t matter which side the copter is facing towards the operator, the movements of the right stick will always be the same in relation to the operator. Those. When you tilt the stick away from you, the copter will move away, towards you - it will approach, etc.

    At the end of the review, I can say that this toy is quite interesting. It is also quite difficult to operate; it is not worth buying for a small child, because... will break. My daughter is 15 years old and she really enjoyed flying. There are no complaints about the quality of work, management, or assembly. The only negative is the short operating time: approximately 5 minutes of continuous flight.
    The product is provided free of charge.

    Good luck!
