• Rotate 1 page in Word. How to turn over a separate sheet in Word, instructions. Change orientation on all sheets

In the lesson " How to turn a page in Word 2007"We will learn how to turn pages in a popular text editing program - Microsoft Word 2007. The lesson will discuss options turning all pages in a document and turning one page without changing the orientation of the others.

Our task: learn to turn pages in the program (change page orientation between portrait and landscape).

What do we need: Installed Microsoft Word 2007 and the necessary document in which we will change the orientation of the pages.

What are the solutions?: Change the orientation of one page in an entire document, and change the orientation of pages in an entire document.

In this lesson, let’s agree that instead of the expression “turning the page,” we will use the more competent expression “changing the page orientation.”

Let's assume we have a document in which we will perform manipulations:

Fig 1. Microsoft Word file in a folder

We open our document by double-clicking with the left mouse button, we will see a program window in which the contents of the file will open:

    Fig 2. Document contents

Let's look at options for changing page orientation.

Change the orientation of all pages in a document

We need to make sure that all pages in the document are not in portrait orientation but in landscape orientation. In this case, everything is simple: At the top of the program there is an area with tabs “ Home», « Insert», « Page layout», « Links"etc.

Click on the tab " Page layout» left mouse button and in the field « Page Options" looking for the item " Orientation»:

Fig 3. Location of the “Orientation” menu

Left-click on the menu item “ Orientation", after that we will see a pop-up window with orientation options. Click on the option “ Landscape»:

Fig 4. Options for changing the orientation of pages in a document

After clicking on orientation " Landscape"The pages in our document will change their position and become in landscape orientation. In this case, we have changed the orientation for all pages in the document, but if we need to change the orientation of only one page in the middle of the document... There is a solution to this problem.

Change the orientation of one page in a document

In this case, we need to change the orientation of only one or several pages in the document; the orientation of the remaining pages must remain the same. In this way we will change the orientation of individual pages in Word and maintain the sequential numbering of the pages.

Let's assume that we need " turn over"Only the third page in Word. To do this, open our document (document.docx) and place the mouse cursor at the beginning of the first character on the third page:

Fig 5. Required page for changing orientation

At the top of the program we see an area with tabs " Home», « Insert», « Page layout», « Links"etc. Find the tab “ Page layout", click on it with the left mouse button, after which we see its contents:

Fig 6. Open the “Page Layout” tab

In order for us to succeed “turn” one page in a Word document, we need to indicate to the program about the “section break”. To do this, in the “Page Layout” tab, find the item “ Breaks" and click once with the left mouse button, after which a pop-up window will appear. In this window we find the item “ Next page"and click on it once with the left mouse button:

Fig 7. Contents of the “Breaks” tab of Microsoft Word 2007

After clicking on the item " Next page"The program will perform the necessary actions almost instantly. Our document is divided into 2 sections, now we can perform a “page spread” in landscape orientation. To do this, click at the beginning of the first character of the third page, as we did earlier in the “ tab Page layout"(located at the top of the WORD program) click on the item " Orientation" and in the pop-up window, left-click on " Landscape»:

Fig 8. Changing the page orientation to “Landscape”

After these operations, the program will change the orientation of all pages (starting from the third) located after our third page, i.e. 4, 5, 6 and other pages.

If we need landscape orientation to be only for one, the third page of the document. To do this, go to the end of the third page and place the cursor after the last character on the page:

Now we perform the familiar actions with a section break. To do this, in the tab " Page layout"click on the item " Breaks" and in the pop-up menu select " Next page»:

Now we have achieved the required goal: changing the orientation of only one page in a WORD document:

Fig 13. Landscape and portrait page orientation in WORD

As a result, all pages in our document except the third are located in portrait orientation, and the third page is located in landscape orientation. If we also need to selectively change the orientations of other pages, then the above operation must be repeated the appropriate number of times.

This question interests, perhaps, every second user of the Word program. Why is this necessary? For example, in cases where it is necessary to place graphs, diagrams, diagrams that, due to their scale, do not fit on a vertical sheet. In this material, we will look at several ways to flip a sheet horizontally in Word.

As you already understood, by default, the Word text editor provides for portrait page orientation. But it can be changed using simple methods that even a novice user can handle. Let's look at each method in more detail. Which method is right for you depends on the version of Word you are using.

How to flip a sheet horizontally in Word? Version 2003 and earlier

So, in order to make a horizontal sheet orientation in Word 2003, 1997 and 2000, the user will have to perform the following algorithm of actions:

    1. First, go to the “File” tab located on the toolbar, then select the “Options” item.
    2. In the "Margins" section, in the line called "Orientation" the user will be offered two options for page orientation: portrait and landscape.
    3. Select “Landscape” and click OK.

How to flip only one sheet in the entire document?

If the user needs to flip horizontally only one sheet in the entire document, then the following steps should be followed.

First you need to select the part of the text whose orientation you want to change. Then go to the “Options” item. Then we select the vertical orientation we need. In the tab called “Apply”, select the “to selected text” option. Afterwards we confirm all actions by pressing the OK button.

How to flip a sheet horizontally in Word? Versions 2007 and newer

So, if you prefer to use the text editor Word 2007 and newer, then this section is for you. Here we will offer options on how to make a landscape orientation for a text document or a separate part of it.

The first thing to do is go to the tab called “Page Layout”. Then go to the “Orientation” section. By default, the text editor sets portrait orientation. What we need is a landscape one. We select the option we need, and then confirm the actions taken by pressing the OK button.

If you need to turn only one sheet vertically, all actions completely repeat the actions for Word 2003. That is, first you need to select the part of the text whose orientation you want to change. Then go to the “Options” item. Then select landscape orientation. In the tab called “Apply”, select the “to selected text” option. Afterwards we confirm all actions by pressing the OK button. The only differences are in the different location of the settings button on the tab with all the parameters.

By the way, it is worth noting that often the user does not change the orientation of the sheets on the computer, but does this when printing the document. Currently, almost all printers allow you to change the orientation of sheets while printing documents. The truth in this case is that all sheets will be rotated, and the quality and appearance of the document may suffer.

In this article, we examined several options for how to flip a sheet horizontally in Word, using methods suitable for several versions of the text editor. As you already understand, there is nothing complicated about this. It is enough just to follow the specified algorithm, strictly carry out all the steps, only in this case the result will not disappoint you, and the process itself will not cause difficulties.

To place large figures, diagrams or tables, you often need rotate page in word. Let's change the page orientation for the paragraph Paragraph and the spacing between lines.

There are several ways to change the page orientation.

    1st method:

Select a fragment of any text for which you should change page orientation.
Execute the special command File/Page Setup.

On the Paper Size tab: set the page orientation to landscape, in the Apply field, select To selected text.
    Click OK.

Switch to Normal viewing mode. When the page orientation changes (as, for example, when the number of columns changes), a new section begins, and a section break appears at this point. Remove these breaks and your text will return to its original form.

ATTENTION! When you delete a section break, the current section takes on the formatting settings of the next section.

    2nd method:

If pages in landscape orientation must be filled completely, and you do not know where they will end, then it is advisable to use the following method:

Place the input cursor at the beginning of the fragment for which you want to change the page orientation (at the beginning of the Paragraph and line spacing heading).
    Run this command: File/Page Settings.

On the Paper Size tab: set the page orientation to landscape, and in the Apply field, select To the end of the document.
Click OK. All text, starting from this paragraph, is now located on pages in landscape orientation.

Let's return the pages to portrait orientation, starting with the third. To do this, place the input cursor at its beginning, and then do the same operations (only on the Paper Size tab, set portrait orientation and in the Apply field, do not forget to select the Until the end of the document mode!). The page orientation has returned to its original orientation.

Finally, to make our text seem continuous, remove the paragraph indent at the beginning of the third page.

Often when working with documents in Microsoft Word, you need to rotate the page to a horizontal position. However, not everyone fully knows how to do this. In this article we will look in detail at how to flip a sheet horizontally in Word.

How to make a page horizontal in Microsoft Word?

This method works in Microsoft Word 2007, as well as in later versions of the program.

The first step is to go to the tab called “Page Layout”. Select the “Orientation” item. By default, the sheet orientation in the program is portrait. In order to move all sheets to a horizontal position, you must select the landscape orientation type.

How to make only one page horizontal in Microsoft Word?

In the first case, everything was simple and clear. However, most often, when working in Office Word, you need to ensure that only individual pages are rotated horizontally. To rotate only one page, follow these instructions:

As in the first case, first you need to go to the menu called “Page Layout”.

When you click LMB on this item, an additional menu window should open in front of you, with which you have the opportunity to select the type of writing. It can be vertical, that is, portrait, or horizontal, in other words, landscape. In the same window, you can choose whether to apply the settings to the entire document, or only to the current sheet (to its end). When choosing the second option, only the sheet that you need will be in a horizontal position.

If you want to make the next sheet portrait again, then you will need to do all the same steps, only in the settings select the “portrait display” option instead of landscape. This is how easy it is to rotate a sheet of paper in Microsoft Word to the position you need. This editing method will work on versions of the program 2007 and higher.
