• Specifications Lenovo p70 a. Lenovo P70-A mobile phone. Mobile device batteries differ from each other in their capacity and technology. They provide the electrical charge necessary for their functioning.

New smartphone Lenovo P70. Progress does not stand still, and accordingly, companies that once released a hit device will not be able to endlessly bask in the rays of its glory. In 2013, such a device from Lenovo was the Lenovo P780 smartphone - a truly interesting and “tenacious” product, but over time everything gets old and this is no exception. The world needs new heroes and one of them is already trying to fill the niche of his predecessor and progenitor, his name is Lenovo P70.

    Equipment

The device is not overloaded with additional accessories. The kit includes the smartphone itself, a microUSB cable, a charger and documentation.

    Specifications

Compared to its predecessor, the device turned out to be much more interesting and advanced. The device has an 8-core MT6752 processor with a clock frequency of 1.7 GHz. The Mali T760-MP2 with a frequency of 700 MHz is responsible for graphics processing. The device is equipped with 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of built-in memory and supports memory cards up to 32 GB. Speaking of power, the device scores 32,827 points in the AnTuTu test.

In addition, Lenovo P70 supports OTG technology, which allows you to connect various devices, including flash drives and hard drives of unlimited capacity.

The Lenovo P70 display has a 5-inch IPS matrix with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The touch screen supports multi-touch with simultaneous touching of up to 5 points.

The device has two cameras: a 5 MP front camera and a 13 MP main camera.

The phone supports two SIM cards and receives signals from 2G, 3G and 4G networks. Battery capacity is 4000 mAh.

The dimensions of the device are 142 x 71.8 x 8.9 mm, and the weight is 149 grams. Lenovo P70 runs on the Android 4.4 operating system, but an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop is expected in the near future.

    Appearance

Compared to the Lenovo P780, this model has become a little thinner and has lost its metal back cover. It was replaced by a plastic one with a touch surface, which gives the device a pleasant appearance and good grip on the hand during use. As in its predecessor, the battery is not removable, although it can be removed if desired.

How to remove the battery in Lenovo P780 is described in the article:

The front of the device has a standard set of elements for Lenovo: 5 MP camera, voice speaker, sensors, Lenovo logo, 5-inch screen and three touch navigation buttons.

The back side houses a 13 MP camera with flash and a logo.

The bottom edge houses the main speaker, microUSB port and microphone.

On the top edge there is a headphone input.

The power button and volume rocker are located on the right side of the device.

In general, the device is assembled of very high quality and has a stylish and pleasant appearance.

    pros

    • nice design
    • high quality screen
    • capacious battery
    • powerful processor
    • LTE support
    • OTG support
    • memory card support
    • good camera.

    cons

    • plastic edging of edges instead of metal.

The Lenovo P70 smartphone will be an excellent replacement for a smartphone and will certainly become a sales leader thanks to all its technical characteristics and high-capacity battery. The device will be good for fans of surfing the Internet, gamers and those who cannot imagine their life without watching videos on the road and listening to music. OTG support will allow you to quickly and efficiently transfer the necessary content from a flash drive or hard drive to your smartphone.

It is worth paying attention to the fact that this smartphone model also has a Chinese version aimed at the domestic market - Lenovo P70t. Its technical characteristics are slightly different from this device.

    Main Features

I remember a hippo smartphone came to me a year and a half ago. Just like our today's hero, like the Lenovo P70 - the same five inches of screen, the hardware was quite decent for those times. And the battery is exactly like the P70 - a mind-blowing 4000 mAh. This miracle weighed 204 grams and was as much as 14 mm thick.

And now Lenovo has managed to cram a battery of the same capacity into 150 grams and 9 millimeters in thickness. The result was not a hippopotamus, but a device that was completely reasonable in size.

Record? Perhaps yes. Theoretically, there are also ThL 5000 and DEXP Ixion X 5, the manufacturers of which also claim that they are within 150 grams. But it is known from reliable sources that they are lying. And thoroughly.

But it’s not the battery alone that makes the P70 interesting. In addition to an extremely capacious battery, there is also support for 4G/LTE, a lot of memory and previously unseen hardware from MediaTek, which promised to be very fast.

    Brief conclusion

The main result of testing - yes, a huge battery in a body of normal dimensions - is already a reality, for which I congratulate us all. And a smartphone - what is a smartphone? Not bad, fast, but rather boring. From the category of expensive workhorses. And I probably expected even a little more from the battery.

I was surprised by the set of sensors. There is not only a thermometer with a barometer, but even a compass with a gyroscope. Only an accelerometer and proximity and light sensors. For such an expensive device, such a modest set is a little strange.

    Communication with the outside world

All the main LTE frequencies required in our country, according to the official description, are present.

I was a little surprised that the Wi-Fi was single-band. From new chips this year you already expect dual-band functionality by default.

Unfortunately, there is no way to connect to a computer in flash drive mode.

    Screen

A good screen, very bright, very contrasty. Interestingly, in some reviews on other sites (of those whose opinions I completely trust), I came across mentions that the brightness, on the contrary, is not too high. This suggests that perhaps P70s from different batches use different screens.

The resolution, for my subjective taste, is more than sufficient for five inches.

Judging by the presence of a screen film in the kit, the glass here is not protected, no Gorilla Glass. However, I don’t see any scratches or abrasions on it. However, I did not introduce the P70 to keys or other similar sharp objects.

The oleophobic coating is not outstanding, but it is clearly there. Fingerprints appear quite readily, but getting rid of them is not a problem at all.

Sensor. But there is one funny thing about him. True, I don’t know whether it’s just the sensor, or whether the software is configured to process clicks. The point is this. The sensor is competent, responds well to pressing, pinching, etc. There are no problems with zooming, clicking on button links and the like. But dragging icons across desktops and putting them into folders is a pain. They are somehow tough, resist, break out and don’t want to unfold.

The problem is not the biggest one. You don't have to do this very often. But it's annoying, of course.

    Operating system and other software

Operating system Android 4.4.4 KitKat plus proprietary shell. Everything is quite ordinary, nothing that I would like to talk about.

There is no single list of applications; everything needs to be laid out on desktops.

There is quite a lot of third-party pre-installed software, but all of it can be removed without any problems.

    Battery

Battery capacity - 4000 mAh. Given the moderate screen size and low resolution, one could hope for outstanding battery test results.

The results are good, no doubt about it. 158% of the conventional standard. Only the Sony Xperia Z3, with a 3100 battery, is as much as 179%. At the same time, Lenovo P70 won the tests for video playback and games, but lost everything else - music, white screen, GPS... That is. It turns out that the P70 works well under load, but does not know how to conserve charge in quieter operating modes.

    Lenovo P70 like a phone

It's nice to have the ability to record telephone conversations. True, it must be turned on after the conversation has begun - by pressing the corresponding button on the screen. I haven’t found how to make sure that all conversations are recorded indiscriminately.

    Lenovo P70 as a flashlight

The flash, as usual, can be a flashlight. The brightness is average, a little more than 100 lux when illuminating an object located at a distance of half a meter from the flashlight.

Lenovo P70 as a photo and video camera

Not a fountain. Which, perhaps, best proves that the Lenovo P70 in no way pretends to be called a flagship device. If we wanted to make it a flagship, we would have installed a normal camera.

You can get good pictures, no question. But there is a lot of garbage, many frames are out of focus, and... Well, this is not the kind of “camera” that you can take with you on vacation and then show the pictures taken with it to your relatives. It’s better to keep silent about filming in the dark.

Another sad point is the camera location. It's in the corner and you always accidentally close it with your finger.

Video. During the day, in good lighting - not bad, perhaps.

    Equipment

In the small box under the device there was a power cable, a charger (output characteristics: 5.2V and 2A), an OTG adapter for connecting peripheral USB devices, a wired headset with the ability to answer calls, case and protective film. I can already see how sellers of large chain stores are beginning to quietly hate Lenovo because they have lost additional income from accessories. That's it!

The USB-Host adapter is not simple. It was put in a box for a reason. You can charge third-party devices using this cable! The trick was done with a Bluetooth headset, Xiaomi Yi camera and other devices. What is there! Even the Lenovo MP506 external battery began to actively eat up the smartphone’s charge, although, in theory, everything should be the other way around.

By the way, if you suddenly lose a branded adapter, you can use a similar one, for example, ordered from Alibaba. Charging of third-party devices is provided here at the hardware level in the smartphone, and not on the accessory side.

The complete case is made of thick plastic and is very pleasant to the touch. Yes, it increases the size of the P70, but it also protects it quite well. I wouldn't consider an additional accessory. The case is really good.

In general, special thanks to the guys from Lenovo for such a rich kit. Let no manufacturer skimp on their customers!

    Design

I will not describe the appearance of the smartphone in detail, since I already did this in the presentation of the smartphone. You can evaluate the design and location of the main elements yourself from the photo below.

However, there are still a few words about convenience and ergonomics. By the standards of modern phones, the P70 is a bit thick. Using a branded case thickens the gadget even more. However, the device feels good in the hand. The back surface is slippery (without a case), but not so slippery that the smartphone could slip out of your hand.

The battery cover is easily scratched if not handled very carefully. The reason for this is journalists who test devices according to the principle: “It’s not mine, it’s not a pity.” The result can be seen in the photo.

Taken together, the materials and design don't provide any unusual user experience. The P70 is far from an elegant design solution. But nothing negative can be said either. A simple, solid, sometimes boring block of plastic.

The touch buttons are illuminated in the dark, but weakly. And yet this is already something.

A little about the display. There is a 5-inch (127 mm) IPS screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The pixel density is 294 ppi and individual pixels will be difficult to make out. If you manage to do this, then you can congratulate yourself on your excellent vision.

In the photo below, under high magnification, you can look at the screen of the Sony Xperia Z3 with its 5.2-inch Full HD display (423 ppi) and the Lenovo P70 (on the right). In everyday use there is little difference.

Viewing angles are traditionally good for IPS matrices. There are no exceptions here.

    Specifications

The technical characteristics of the Lenovo P70 are of considerable importance. This is far from budget, but it’s not the latest, hottest hardware either. In general, let's look at the specifications:

    • MediaTek MT6752 processor with a frequency of 1.7 GHz (8 cores, 64 bits)
    • Mali T760-MP2 graphics (up to 700 MHz)
    • RAM 2 GB (on bare device 1208 MB)
    • built-in storage 16 GB (11.39 GB actually available)
    • memory cards up to 32 GB (Micro SD)
    • 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (5 simultaneous touches)
    • front camera 5 MP
    • main camera 13 MP
    • battery (lithium polymer, removable) 4000 mAh
    • Connectors: MicroUSB (OTG available), 3.5 audio output, two SIM cards
    • sensors: proximity and light sensor, accelerometer
    • OS Anbdroid 4.4.4
    • 2G, 3G, 4G LTE Cat. 4(FDD 800/1800/2100/2600 MHz)
    • Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0, no NFS
    • GPS (aGPS) / GLONASS
    • FM radio

There is something special to say about the network capabilities of the device. The Wi-Fi module could catch the network signal better. Where other devices show reliable reception, the P70 notes a lower signal level. The 4G device connects well for the most part, but a couple of times I noticed that for no reason the data transmission disappeared. The symptom was treated with a simple reboot.

Overall performance is very good. The interface and animation fly everywhere in the system. Not a single lag or the slightest slowdown was noticed. Screenshots with test results of popular benchmarks (AnTuTu, Vellamo, Geekbench 3) in their rightful place.

In toys, the device did not perform at its best. It was not possible to play Dungeon Hunter 5 normally. At first, the device froze right at the beginning of the mission, the second time near the end, and the third time - already when launching the application. It was decided to suspend further attempts due to their futility.

Dead Trigger 2 refused to launch on the phone at all.

With Asphalt 8 everything is much better. The game starts and runs without problems at maximum graphics settings. The same can be said about Crossy Road. Everything is great with simple toys.

A little more about hardware issues. I didn't like the work of the light sensor. It quickly changes the screen brightness depending on the surrounding light, there are no errors here. However, in most cases the brightness is not enough. Literally one division more and it would be much more comfortable to work with the device. Sometimes I couldn’t stand it and turned off auto-adjustment completely.

In general, the maximum screen brightness is not amazing. There are smartphones with much more serious backlighting, but this certainly cannot be considered a disadvantage of the device.

    Photo capabilities

The main camera is the biggest disappointment of the phone. Photos are cloudy, focus works very well, and the HDR mode is so harsh that the end result is something between a real-life photo and a comic book.

There are a lot of different modes and additional shooting settings. However, they are unlikely to be useful to anyone when the quality of the source material leaves much to be desired.

Examples of photos taken on a smartphone below.

You can get the originals in one archive from here.

The smartphone records video in 3GP format at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The quality is no better than photographs, but I will still give an example of a video.

    Working with SIM cards

The phone supports two SIM cards at once. The setting takes place through the corresponding menu item. Here you can set a request to select a SIM card before each call or send an SMS, or you can distribute tasks for each card once and for all.

Ring tones, of course, are also set for each SIM individually.

    Chips

You can find some very interesting items on the menu. Firstly, it is very convenient to wake up the screen by simply tapping it twice on its surface. The screen wakes up but remains locked. Enough to see the time or new notifications.

Secondly, double-clicking the “House” icon even in sleep mode takes a snapshot. Sometimes this function can be very useful and we often regret its absence when a good shot is already gone. However, there is a nuance: photography occurs even before the camera has time to focus, so such pictures often turn out blurry.

Locking the screen by shaking the device did not catch on in my case, since the system often blocked the screen at the wrong moment.

In addition, the phone allows you to use standard tools to configure different scenarios for its use depending on the time of day or the Wi-Fi network detected in a given location. A very convenient thing if everyday life is subject to the same schedule.

    Battery life

The Lenovo P70 battery is perhaps the most interesting feature of the smartphone. Yes, there is a seemingly gigantic 4000 mAh battery installed here, but you shouldn’t expect that the device can work on one charge for two, three or four days in a row. In fact, the phone can confidently survive for about a day and a half under heavy load (calls, games, Internet, background notifications, plus all activated wireless interfaces).

Let's put it this way: where competitors with similar hardware with their standard +/- 3000 mAh last a day, the P70 lasts half a day more. And so it is in everything. With moderate use (a few calls and background notifications via 4G or Wi-Fi), the smartphone will easily survive for three days, but this is the ceiling.

All this data is valid when the “smart battery saving” function is activated. In this case, energy consumption is slightly reduced by reducing the frequency of operation of the video accelerator and the backlight level.

There is also an emergency battery mode, in which the desktop interface is simplified, and the phone becomes similar to the Nokia 3100: only calls, SMS and an alarm clock are available.

In the end, if an extra half-day of battery life is important to you, then the P70 is for you. If not, then the 4000 mAh battery capacity is not a competitive advantage of the device.

The time to fully charge the smartphone is approximately 3 hours, and with a few minutes of charging the device can be recharged for conversations for 4 hours. This is not some proprietary technology like Samsung's Quick Charge. The output voltage on the power supply is simply increased to 5.2 volts.

    Conclusion

In retail Lenovo P70 price settled at the level of 19,990 rubles and this is a lot. A lot for a phone that has a camera of below average quality, a discreet, unremarkable design and a non-Full HD screen. There are enough devices on the market that can give the user much more for the same or even less money. Even within the Lenovo product line there are such devices. I mean S90 or X2. Moreover, both of these smartphones have a very good, stylish design.

The hero of today's article has good, but not the best hardware. It's strange, but there are compatibility problems with some modern toys. I think these are temporary inconveniences that will most likely be eliminated in subsequent firmware.

A higher capacity battery actually provides very little benefit. The only thing that deserves praise is the equipment. Lenovo approached this issue with full responsibility. However, this is just a nice bonus and is not at all an argument in favor of buying the phone.

You can purchase the smartphone on Gearbest.com. Delivery is free as always.

The Lenovo p70 smartphone is similar to the P780 model. Moreover, in fact, this is its continuation. The same screen size, battery capacity, but other characteristics have undergone significant changes. What to expect from this device, and what qualities did users like about it?

    Appearance

Unlike its predecessor, the smartphone of this model has a body made not of metal, but of plastic. However, there are also advantages to this: it has a positive effect on thickness. The design is strictly executed, the corners are quite sharp, the screen protrudes slightly.

Above the display there is a standard set of functional elements: a front camera, two sensors (lighting and proximity), a notification LED, and a speaker for conversations. You can also see the Lenovo logo there, but it is slightly darkened, so it is not striking. Below the screen there are three backlit touch buttons.

On the right there is a volume button, as well as a mute key.

There are no functional elements located on the left side. At the top there is an additional microphone (the main one is at the bottom) and an audio jack. At the bottom end there is a connector for connecting a cable connecting a smartphone and a computer. The back side is equipped with the main camera lens. The manufacturer's logo is also displayed here.

Removing the cover provides access to the memory card and SIM card slots. This device has two of them.

    Equipment

The smartphone comes with headphones, charging devices, a USB cable, documentation, a plastic case, a protective film and a USB-OTG cable. Thus, the equipment is not poor.

    Lenovo p70 specifications

    Parameter Meaning
    operating system Android 4.4
    CPU MediaTek MT6752, 8 cores
    Cameras Main - 13 MP, front - 5 MP
    RAM 2 GB
    Internal memory 16 GB
    Additional memory Up to 32GB
    Display 5 inches
    Wireless technologies Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, 4G, 2G
    Battery 4000 mAh

    Screen

The 5-inch touch display has a sensor for automatic brightness control. As for the air gap, it is absent. The top of the screen is covered with glass, which protects it from scratches and various mechanical damage. There is an oleophobic coating, which avoids a lot of fingerprints, and if they do appear, the screen is easy to clean. In addition, this increases sensitivity, fingers glide easily over the surface, and the display responds quickly to touches.

In daylight, the screen shows average performance. The image can be distinguished, but without maximum comfort. It is worth noting that the manufacturer could have provided greater brightness.

    Camera

Modern devices are equipped with two cameras: front and main. And the Lenovo p70 smartphone was no exception. The 13 MP main camera has many settings, as well as additional modes. For example, shooting a model in 3D graphics. The main camera is equipped with autofocus and flash. Pictures are of good quality if taken under optimal lighting conditions. Sharpness is uniform throughout the frame. If you shoot in the dark, the quality of the photo deteriorates noticeably. The shots are soapy, with great sharpness.

The front camera is not particularly suitable for selfies, but it is ideal for communicating on Skype.

    Performance

The processor installed in the Lenovo p70 smartphone is ready to please with good performance. It is even enough to support a 16 MP camera, so in the future it will be used more than once by the manufacturer. The device's memory capacity is not large enough, but it can easily be increased by installing an additional 32 GB card.

The processor power is enough to not only perform everyday user tasks, but also run demanding modern games at high settings. For avid gamers, this is a significant advantage. Work with navigation applications is also of high quality. To find the required satellite, you do not have to spend a lot of time. Moreover, you don’t even have to connect to the Internet to do this.

    Autonomous operation

The Lenovo p70 smartphone has a non-removable battery. Its capacity is 4000 mAh. This is a pretty good indicator, especially if you take into account the thickness of the device, which is 8.9 mm. If you use the device with the brightness adjusted automatically, transfer data via a wireless network, make calls for a while, play toys for about an hour, the phone will be able to work without additional recharging for about 2 days. Of course, this is not the highest indicator of autonomy, but it is not far from that shown by budget models.

The phone is recharged from the charger in 2 hours. If you connect the device to a computer using a special cable, this process will be completely completed in 7 hours. Considering OTG support, the device is suitable for charging other devices.

    Conclusions

Overall, the Lenovo p70 smartphone is a mid-level model. Only the battery capacity is an order of magnitude higher than that of devices of this class. The device has a rather boring design, but its filling is quite up to the standard. The advantages of this model include high performance, which allows you to cope even with a large number of demanding games. Ease of use and screen quality are also a plus. Disadvantages: boring design, which does not please some users who are used to their device attracting the attention of others. Despite the high battery capacity, the battery life could be longer.

Thanks to its classic design, the smartphone is suitable for both women and men. This is a good workhorse, designed for everyday use and entertainment. Extreme lovers will have to make a choice in favor of another device, since this phone is not protected from water, the screen glass is not tempered.

Design features of the Lenovo a316i phone iPhone or Lenovo: a worthwhile device for comfortable use

It’s been a while since I studied smartphones from Lenovo - I need to catch up, because this company produces very decent smartphones and tablets, not to mention laptops and other gadgets. This time I received a Lenovo P70 model for review - a smartphone with good characteristics, support for two SIM cards and a battery with a capacity of as much as 4000 mAh, and at the same time costs very reasonable money. Well, let's see what he is.

Specifications Operating system: Android 4.4 KitKat with Lenovo skin
Display: 5" HD IPS (1280×720), five-point sensor, 16 million colors
    CPU: MT6752 True8Core, 64-bit, 1.7 GHz
Graphics accelerator: Mali-T760MP2 with frequency up to 700 MHz
    RAM: 2 GB
    Flash memory: 16 GB
Memory card: SD up to 32 GB
    Net: GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, 3G: 900/2100 MHz, 4G: LTE FDD 800/1800/2100/2600 MHz
    Wireless: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0
Camera: 13 megapixels, with autofocus and LED flash
Front camera: 5 megapixel, fixed focal length
Ports: microUSB (OTG supported), audio jack
    GPS: GPS, A-GPS support, GLONASS
    SIM card: microSIM and microSIM
    Battery: 4000 mAh, non-removable
    Dimensions: 71.8 × 8.9 × 142 mm
    Weight: 149 g
Additionally: accelerometer, proximity and light sensors
Price in Moscow: 18-20 thousand rubles Well, the equipment is very decent, especially pleasing are two SIM cards, a serious chipset and a 4000 mAh battery. But nowadays I would like a FullHD display, although, on the other hand, HD should consume less battery. Memory cards are supported up to 32 GB. This is not a problem, of course, but it should be kept in mind, because there are already cards in both 64 GB and 128 GB on the market. Equipment Supplied in a nice white box.

Inside: smartphone, power adapter, USB-microUSB cable, USB cable for OTG (for connecting flash drives to a smartphone, can also be used to charge external devices from the smartphone’s battery), in-ear headset, brochures, cover-case.

Appearance and features The design is strict and boring, the design is monochromatic. The color of the smartphone is stated as dark blue, but it actually looks like black. There are no other color options for Europe, but two more versions are available for China - white and brownish.

The back cover is matte plain plastic. The lid is removable and fits well. I read somewhere in the reviews that it crunches in my hands - I only experienced this if I didn’t snap the lid tightly.

Under the cover there is a non-removable battery, two slots for microSIM and a slot for an SD card.

As usual in such cases, one SIM card slot can work with 2G, 3G and 4G, the second - only 2G. And SIM cards work in Dual Standby mode: that is, if one SIM card is used for conversation, then the second SIM card does not work (one radio module). The phone feels good in your hands and looks quite thin, especially considering the battery installed here. Also surprising is the really small weight of the smartphone with such a battery - only 149 grams. Right side: power button and volume rocker. The power button, in my opinion, is located very conveniently. The volume rocker is not pressed very clearly, but this can be overcome with humility and patience.

Top end: second microphone and audio output. By the way, the upper and lower ends are tinted to look like glass. But this is glossy plastic, which, by the way, is quite easily soiled.

Bottom end: microphone, speaker mesh, microUSB output, decorative mesh (there is no speaker under it, only one speaker).

The kit includes a plastic cover with a corrugated surface. If you install it on your phone, it becomes noticeably more grippy.

Well, here is our hero next to Meizu MX4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Control is carried out using three touch buttons “Menu”, “Home” and “Return” located under the display. The buttons can be on all the time, lit for three seconds after use, or off all the time - this is configurable.

The browser is launched, loading the page - three cores are working.

Well, the 3D game is launched - all eight cores are working at maximum load.

Another important point is that the LTE modem is integrated into the chipset itself (previously it had to be supported using a separate MT6290 chip, which increased energy consumption). The Wi-Fi adapter supports 802.11 b/g/n protocols and Miracast technologies (outputting images from the smartphone screen to external devices - for example, a TV, projector) and Wi-Fi Direct. Moreover, Miracast also supports independent image output from some application: for example, you have a map open on your screen, and a video from the gallery is displayed on your TV. Display Display on an IPS matrix with a resolution of 1280×720, made using OGS technology. The top surface is covered with Gorilla Glass. There is anti-reflective and oleophobic coating. The image on the display is of very high quality, the colors are pleasant and natural. Brightness is good: in normal mode I set the brightness level to about 30%. In direct sunlight, the image was very clearly visible - almost as good as that of the Galaxy Note 4, but there a special additional backlight turns on in the sun, but here it is not. I didn’t like the automatic brightness adjustment at all: it darkened the screen too much and was very inconvenient to use. By the way, the MT6752 chipset itself implements a number of proprietary technologies from MediaTek, which should improve the quality of the image on the screen. For example, ClearMotion technology increases the frame rate in video from 24-30 per second to 60 in real time - this significantly improves the smoothness of picture display. The second technology, MiraVision, adjusts saturation, brightness and contrast when displayed on the screen, achieving the most beautiful picture. There is no access to turning these technologies on or off in the smartphone settings, but there is information that they are simply turned on by default. The viewing angles of the smartphone are simply excellent; tilting the screen vertically and horizontally has virtually no effect on the picture. Device operation Lenovo's own shell is installed here, called Vibe UI, which can be flexibly customized to the user's preferences. This shell does not provide a separate window for application icons, so all application icons are located on desktops. Home desktop.

The second desktop with an application widget from Yandex.

Third desktop. As you can see, there are many additional applications installed here, including games and a set of utilities from Yandex. Some users like this - the phone already has everything they need, while others believe that so many additional applications only create a mess - they say, the user himself can install only what he really needs.

    Application area.

Quick settings are opened not with a separate button, but with the help of a chevron that you need to pull down. The application area icon set is editable.

Also, the notification area itself is flexibly configured and the user can turn notifications from various applications on and off and set the priorities of notifications from applications. Please note that you can even turn on the current data transfer speed in the status bar.

The lock area allows you to immediately go to the phone application, messages, camera.

If you take the smartphone in a certain way, the mode to prevent unwanted actions is activated - random dialing of a number and so on.

The user can turn on an additional set of S-menu icons, which is always located on the screen in an arbitrary location in the form of a small circle and opens when pressed with a finger.

    Setting up desktops.

Editing the desktop and adding widgets.

Desktop settings menu. The user can save their desktop settings and restore them if necessary.

Phone application The phone application is quite convenient and does not cause any complaints. The maximum ringer volume is not the highest, but sufficient. The quality of the connection is good, I did not identify any problems. In reviews on Yandex.Market I saw several complaints about the quality of the microphone - it seems that this was a defect of a specific model, since all subscribers heard me completely normally.

    Favorite contacts.

Incoming call. Here you can answer the call, hang up, reply with a message, or schedule a call back in a minute or an hour.

Options during a conversation. Please note that recording is possible.

Well, since there are two SIM cards, you can choose what to use for calls, messages and the Internet.

Messages The messages section seems simple, but all sorts of useful features are present there.

    Audio A regular Google app.

The sound of the built-in speaker is flat and booming, but without wheezing. The location of the speaker (on the bottom end) is not particularly good: it is constantly covered by your hand when you hold the phone horizontally. (For example, when watching a video.) The sound in the included headset is also flat, heavily biased towards high frequencies, and there is no bass at all. But this headset, as I understand it, is intended mainly for telephone conversations and for listening to the radio. The sound in decent headphones (Audio-technica ATH-ES7) is tolerable, some bass appears, but the volume, in my opinion, is insufficient. You can listen, but nothing more: it doesn’t induce a tear of admiration. Video 1080, 4K - everything is played without any delays, knots or hitches.

    Images Standard Google application.

Data protection and anti-theft system A very useful application, in my opinion, which I already wrote about.

FM radio FM radio is supported with a headset as an antenna.

Settings The settings here are very diverse - the system flexibly adapts to user preferences.

Lenovo allows you to change the design within a wide range: fonts, their sizes, background images, icons, and so on. Themes are supported - design sets.

Turning it on and off according to a schedule is a useful thing.

    Power Manager Settings.

Emergency mode is when only calls, SMS messages, contacts and watches are available. In this mode, the phone can work for several days on a single charge. This can be used when the battery is low and the phone needs to be accessible.

    Setting up energy saving types.

GPS It identifies satellites very quickly, keeps its coordinates confidently, and doesn’t lose its way while traveling.

Games All sorts of 3D games function normally and do not slow down even at maximum quality settings - the chipset's graphics system copes with them without problems.

I read somewhere in the reviews that the smartphone started to get very hot during 3D games, but I didn’t experience even slight heating either in 3D games or during tests. Camera A simple interface, in the form of separate icons you can turn on HDR, control the flash, change the camera and turn on slow motion.

    Camera and video settings menu.

The following modes are available: auto, portrait, panorama, live photo, shot in motion and shooting a 3D model (this is just a video of several photos). Here are sample pictures. They were not processed in any way, they were only reduced. Clickable: When clicked, a photo that is 1920 pixels wide will open. At home, in dim lighting, it takes pictures rather poorly: the pictures are cloudy, unclear, and already at ISO 200 noticeable noise appears.
Here in the photo below is ISO 165.

HDR operation when shooting in backlight.
In general, it takes good pictures in normal daylight.

Here's the same shot taken on the Note 4.

The text is captured clearly and legibly. If the lighting is sufficient, it shows good results indoors.

In shooting mode from the front camera, the Face Beautifier technology built into the chipset is supported, allowing you to improve portraits and selfies on the fly by removing wrinkles and brightening the face. This technology works very well. The only thing is that the camera close up, at arm's length, does not focus very well, so for such shots it is better to use a selfie stick. (I don’t have it, so I can’t demonstrate it.) And here I turned all the effects up to full to show how it works, and when using it, you just need to select the desired effect level.

It shoots video quite well, in my opinion, but the focusing is a little off, as it seemed to me.

Focusing when taking a photo works quite quickly and clearly here - there were practically no flaws. For example, the same iPhone 6 Plus, when focusing, was noticeably more blurry. The shooting quality of this smartphone, in my opinion, is quite mediocre, but not at all terrible, as was written in several reviews. In my opinion, it shoots tolerably. I've seen smartphones with noticeably worse camera quality. However, judge for yourself - the pictures are in front of you. Performance The system interface works smoothly, I did not notice any delays or slowdowns. Applications work quickly. AnTuTu gave him 43,439 parrots.

Battery life The 4000 mAh battery and new chipset technologies promised records in terms of operating time on a single battery charge, but the reality turned out to be a little more modest. In my normal mode of use (calls, instant messengers, the Internet, reading, reference programs), the smartphone, in general, lived normally on a single charge for two days. But not three days. In road mode, that is, constant use, it confidently lasted a full day and at the end of the day showed about 15-20% charge. But battery tests showed somewhat unexpected results. I carried them out with the automatic adjustment mode turned off. (As I already wrote, I don’t like how it works; it darkens the screen a lot.) Video. Wireless communications are turned off, the brightness is set to a comfortable 40%, and a video of the series is playing in a loop in MK Player. And completely unexpectedly for me - only 9 hours 47 minutes. I didn’t even believe it, I ran the test again. Got 10 hours 5 minutes. Internet. The brightness is set to a comfortable 40%, all wireless networks are turned on, and the page in the browser is refreshed every 30 seconds. 12 hours 15 minutes. Well, at least it's something. Reading. The brightness is set to a comfortable 40%, all wireless networks are turned off, and the book is scrolling in AlReader. 13 hours 45 minutes. Games. Asphalt 8 game at 40% brightness, all wireless communications are turned off. 4 hours 15 minutes. Navigation. The brightness is set to a comfortable 40%, all wireless networks are turned on, and navigation from Google is working. 8 hours 42 minutes - very decent. Overall, battery life is good, but not outstanding. When watching videos or playing games, the battery drains faster than expected. Observations during operation and conclusions During testing, no troubles were observed - no freezes, no reboots, no heating. I really liked the settings options - the shell provides interesting functions and is flexibly tailored to the user’s preferences. I tested a smartphone with two SIM cards - neither of them lost the network. (And sometimes such things happen with dual-SIM devices.) The price of 18-20 thousand rubles for such a smartphone with its characteristics more similar to the top model looks quite attractive. I liked the smartphone. It is not without its shortcomings (sound quality and camera), but overall it is very worthy. Well, it should be noted that Mediatek chipsets are developing in a clearly positive direction. Until recently, these chipsets were a sign of cheap and weak phones with poor characteristics and noticeable glitches (just remember what problems were encountered on older chipset models, for example, with GPS), but now the new Mediatek chipsets demonstrate the capabilities previously characteristic of chipsets of flagship models (LTE, multi-core, performance, powerful graphics accelerator, and so on), but at the same time, prices for smartphones where they are installed are more likely in the budget zone, rather than in the top-end. What we, consumers, cannot but rejoice at.
