How to send messages?

In order to write a message to someone (if you have never corresponded with anyone via WhatsApp), click the button at the bottom of the “Chats” section.

WhatsApp has a limit on sending videos! You will not be able to send a video longer than 2.5 minutes. But if you select such a video to send, the application will offer you to trim it to 2.5 minutes in a very simple and convenient editor, and then send it immediately.

Sometimes you need to turn off notifications from a particular person for a while because, for example, he very often writes something to you, but you are busy and the sound distracts you. Or do you want to completely disable sound notifications in the program from all your contacts.

To turn off notifications from a specific contact, WhatsApp has a “Do Not Disturb” function. You can enable it as follows: in the chat window with the desired contact, open the menu (the button in the upper right corner), then select “Do not disturb.”

In the next window, select “Chat history”, and then “Clear chats” or “Delete chats”.

Clearing chats differs from deleting them in that when clearing, all correspondence will be deleted from chats, but the chats themselves will remain visible in the main program window (i.e., in the “Chats” section). And when you select “Delete chats”, the correspondence will be deleted along with the chats themselves, which will disappear from the main program window.

If backups are not copied to Google Drive, then if you lose your phone or clear all data from its memory, you, accordingly, will not be able to restore any chats in WhatsApp when you reinstall this application on the same phone or on any other!

To change the Google Drive account to which backups are saved, click on “Account” (4) and select another.

It is impossible to cancel the creation of backup copies to the phone memory, as well as change the frequency of their creation.

Pay attention to the “Add video” option at the very bottom of the backup settings window. If you enable this option, videos will also be added to backups, which can significantly increase their size. Initially, this option is disabled and only photos are backed up along with chats.
