• Program for reading ISO files. Create an iso from your installed system. Creating ISO images

Using special programs. Creating a virtual image is very important point, when you do not have a CD/DVD recording disc, with the help of such images, in order to play some game you do not need to have a disc, we will create emulation using a program, then mount it into the drive.

Today there are a huge number of programs for creating an ISO image, many of them are both good and bad, but we will, of course, analyze the workable and popular programs. Some of them are free and may be as good as paid versions, let's now see what programs we are talking about.

ISO Disk Image Creator – CDBurnerXP

The CDBurnerXP utility is very powerful and works with almost any image. Using it, you can both write and overwrite data, as well as erase it. The product is free, so there are no restrictions. CDBurnerXP will easily create a virtual disk with ISO extension. Works on all Windows operating systems. What do you need to create a disk image?

    • Download CDBurnerXP here this link. The site is official, there is no need to be afraid of viruses. When installing, pay close attention to all buttons. One of them "More options", there you can disable the installation of additional software, such as Amigo, or Yandex Browser. It's better to choose the portable version.
    • Now that you have installed the program, launch it. In the window that opens, you will see many options. To create an ISO you need to select the item “Creating ISO images, burning data discs...”. If you need to create an image from a disk, then select “Copy disk”.
    • So, a window will open in which you select any files to create the image.
    • Having selected the files, you need to save our virtual image. To do this, click on the “File” button and select "Save project as ISO image".

Creating an ISO Disc Image Using ImgBurn

The next program on our list is ImgBurn. Its interface is very clear, so you can figure out what and how without my help, but I’ll write everything down just in case. To begin with I want to say that installation file also carries with it the installation of unwanted software, therefore, when installing, keep an eye on all the checkboxes and items. Here is the official website from where you can download this program.

So, the ImgBurn utility is, of course, functional and has a simple interface. When you first install and launch the program, you will see the interface on English, but you can change it to Russian in the settings. True, to do this you need to first download the crack from the official website, and then put the file in the Language folder.

You don't need much to create a virtual image. You just need to click on one of the provided icons in the main program window, add necessary files and save the image.

ISO image creation program – UltraISO

I don’t want such a wonderful program as UltraISO to be in last place. Yes, it's paid, but it's powerful, it works with all types of images, a large number files, can create virtual disks and write data to real optical disks.

The demo version of the program allows you to record an image of 300 MB. Not very much. You can download it from this site. If needed full version, for recording large files, then you will have to either purchase or find “Activation” on the Internet. It's a dishonest way, but you can try.

Creating an ISO Image Using ISO Workshop

Here is another program for creating virtual images - ISO Workshop. The interface is very simple, nothing superfluous. In addition to the ISO format, the program can also work with .CUE. This is a format that works with album images.

The program can record images and extract them, as well as check disks for errors. Here is the official website of the program, download and use it.

    Ashampoo Burning Studio

And the last program on our list is Ashampoo. Burning Studio. The program is free and has a nice interface. In addition to the ISO format, it supports many others. Works with almost any disc. If you decide to use this utility, then you can use it to write data to various disks, rewrite several times, copy discs. You can download the program from the official website. Have you noticed that I mostly give only official sources? Some unscrupulous people try to sneak in their products or provide viral sources to steal your data. Before downloading from dubious sites, it is better to study it in more detail.

Once you have installed and launched the utility, you will see a nice window in front of you:

The program is in Russian, so everything is clear. To create a disk image you need to hover your mouse over the tab "Image Creation". A menu of 3 items will appear. First option - "Burn image" allows you to write data to an optical disk already prepared for this purpose. Second point "Create an image" allows you to create an image from a disc already inserted into the drive.

To create an ISO image from files, we need a third option - “Create an image from files”. This way we can create our own ISO images.

Let's say you have already selected this item. A window will appear before our eyes in which we need to select the ISO format. In addition to this format, there is also the native format of the program itself and the CUE/BIN format.

The last thing you need to do is select the files for the image and then save it.

That's all, these are not all programs, there are a lot of them on the Internet, both well-known and those that have just appeared. Each has many advantages and disadvantages, but with the help of the programs we have discussed, you can easily create a virtual image and, if necessary, write the necessary files to the finished disk.

Free software to create ISO images disks from any folder on the computer.

Using a PC every day, we sometimes don’t even think about many of its capabilities. However, as soon as we are faced with a task that we are not used to solving on a regular basis, many questions immediately arise about what and how to do so that everything works out as it should...

Here's a simple example. Let's say you registered on a torrent tracker and decided to distribute the contents of your folder with a selection of software, but the tracker does not support distribution of entire folders. What should I do?

Can only be selected and distributed certain programs one at a time, or you can do it simpler - turn the contents of the directory into a disk image and distribute everything in one file!

There are many examples when you need to create a disk image from the contents of a specific folder on a PC. This includes creating your own startup disks and sharing computer games with friends, and preparing to burn DVDs... In a word, sooner or later any user may face a similar task.

In such cases, on numerous forums people are advised to pay for software packages for working with disk images such as Alcohol 120% or UltraIso. Undoubtedly, these applications allow you to cope with the task, but finding the necessary tools in them can be quite difficult for an untrained user. The solution to the problem can be the use of small, highly specialized utilities.

I suggest you familiarize yourself with the program Folder2Iso. This small utility allows you to quickly create ISO images from any directory in Windows. It also supports creating images of real CD/DVDs and other removable media information, which in some cases allows you to get rid of rather cumbersome paid solutions.

There is another program very similar to Folder2Iso - AnyToISO. For a long time I could not choose which one to recommend to you, since the second allows you not only to create, but also to convert disks in almost any other formats (for example, IMG, MDF/MDS, NRG, BIN, etc.) into ISO images.

However, it turned out that the free edition of AnyToISO does not work with volumes of information exceeding a standard CD. Therefore, as they say, less is better (in the sense of fewer functions, but more benefits;)

Comparison of the Folder2Iso program with its paid analogue AnyToISO

A serious disadvantage of Folder2Iso compared to its counterpart is the lack of a function to reversely extract files from a finished image into specified folder. To do this, you still have to use a CD drive emulator.

However, on the other hand, Folder2Iso is not designed for such actions, and was originally conceived precisely as a simple way to create images, and not unpack them.

The good news is that Folder2Iso does not require installation. Just download the archive with the program and run it executable file to get started (you can even do this without extracting from the archive):

    Folder2Iso interface

The interface, as can be seen from the screenshot above, is very minimalistic, therefore, despite its English language, anyone can easily understand how the program works.

Creating an ISO Image Using Folder2Iso

First you need to select the folder that you want to turn into an image. To do this, click the “Select Folder” button and in the Browse window that opens, specify the desired directory:

The next step is to select the folder in which to save the finished ISO image. Click the next button “Select Output” and, again using Explorer, indicate where to save our project. At the bottom, in the “File name” field, you need to set a name for our future image, after which you can click the “Save as” button. It should look something like this:

Basically on at this stage You can now start creating an ISO image, but you should pay attention to some nuances of working with the program. It's about additional settings Folder2Iso, which you will find under the main fields.

    Additional settings

So the first one additional function— indication of the title for the future disk. We can set the title in the “Label Of The ISO” field. It will be visible in Windows Explorer, if you write the created image to a real disk (or mount it on virtual disk drive) as the drive name.

Directly below the inscription of the previous paragraph there is a checkbox “Hide Mkisofs”. It serves to hide/display the window of the DOS utility routine Mkisofs.exe, which is directly involved in creating disk images.

If you disable this item, then during image creation you will be able to observe the entire generation process in a separate window, similar to the command line:

Finally the last one additional option— select the encoding for display text characters on the future image. This item is presented as a drop-down “Charset” window on the right side of the Folder2Iso window.

By default, the standardized European encoding is ISO 8859-1 is used, but you can easily change it to any available one from the list. In case you don’t know which encoding is used for which language, the program provides detailed help (though in English). To display it, just click on the button with a question mark to the right of the encoding list:

Now you really know everything about Folder2Iso and are ready to start creating an image. To do this, click the “Generate Iso” button and wait a little. The generation progress will be visible at the bottom of the program window as a green bar:

As mentioned above, Folder2Iso allows you to create images not only local folders, but also removable media. Therefore, it can be equally successfully used to create images of real CDs or DVDs! To do this, just insert the disk into the drive and specify it in Explorer as the source folder. Then everything follows the same scenario as with a regular folder.

    Conclusions

Folder2Iso will be useful to everyone who wants to exchange various kinds of things without any problems, without resorting to expensive programs. digital information with other people.

Everything contributes to this: from portability (you can easily run the program from a flash drive), to simple interface and decent speed. Therefore, if you ever face the need to quickly create an ISO image with any data, don’t hesitate, download Folder2Iso!

Your OS can only write data to disk if you have a disk drive, but it won't be able to work with images unless you have additional software. The program's developers are not the inventors of the format, but they are the developers of the product that has become the most popular tool for working with this format. The software needs to be downloaded not only by those who have a disk drive, but also by those who do not have a disk drive, but need to create an image or work with virtual disks, and also interact with boot disks/flash drives.

A convenient tool for working with images.ISO

You can download a disk image with some program, or create this image yourself. To interact with this format you need to download the software. These programs are distributed free of charge, but you can not only download the software for free, but also continue to use it. The program interface is very similar to the standard Explorer interface in Windows, so you should not have any difficulties in working. In addition to this, UltraISO is in Russian, which means everything is as simple and clear as possible without any translation. The latest version of Ultra ISO allows you to work with the structure of the disk image to save space both on the HDD, when storing the ISO disk, and to reduce the size on optical media. This is not the only plus latest version, here are a few innovations and improvements:

    • Working with boot sectors hard drives;

This feature appeared only in the latest version of the utility. You can also work with boot sectors of optical disks and floppy disks.

Floppy disk support is not a relic of the past. For example, this support will allow you to write a bootable floppy disk with legacy operating systems, for example, you can create a bootable floppy disk for DOS OS. Of course, there is support for boot disks and even bootable flash drives. Create bootable usb flash drive as in standard mode, and with dual mode – USB-HDD and USB-ZIP. You will learn more about creating such flash drives from the video:

And although these utilities different developers, but the software supports both utilities for working with virtual disks. You can use a tandem of these utilities to bypass disk protection.

UltraISO in Russian runs not only on Windows 32 bit, but also on the x64 version; in our archive you will find an installer for both versions of the OS. To run the utility, just install it. You will not need activation and an activation code until you decide to burn a large disc or flash drive. Reviews show that the free version is sufficient to handle 99% of the tasks of the average user.

Hello! In this tutorial I will teach you how to create disk images in ISO format. This feature can be useful in cases where a game or program does not start without inserting it into DVD drive or CD disc.

I will also show you how you can create an image ISO disk from various files, which are just lying on the computer. We can pack music, films, programs and much more into the image.

In general, if you find yourself on this page, then most likely you know for what purposes you need create a disk image, so let's get straight to it. To create the image we will use UltraISO program, which can be downloaded from the official website.

And run it. Don't forget to insert the disc into your computer. Now we need to select the Tools menu in UltraISO and select “Create CD image”. You can also use hotkey F8.

A window opens where we need to configure something. First of all, in the CD/DVD drive section you need select drive letter, which you can find out by going to the section Computer. If you have only one drive installed, then the desired letter will be selected by default.

Just below you need to indicate the location on your computer where you want to save the ISO image, and also give it a name.

A little lower is the section for selecting the format. Except ISO there are MDF, BIN and some other less popular formats. Perhaps in some cases they will be useful to you.

To start creating the image, all we have to do is click the Make button.

This is how the process goes:

Here we once again see where the image will be saved, as well as the approximate time remaining until the process is completed. When finished, we can open the folder and check the result.

Now this ISO image can be opened in special programs, For example, . After opening the image, in the section Computer this file will be displayed as a disc, and we can work with it like regular CD and DVD discs.

Creating an image from various files
    (movies, music, programs, etc.)

Now I've shown how create ISO image from an actual CD that is inserted into an optical drive. But other than that UltraISO program can pack absolutely any files into a disk image. This is done very simply.
