• How to restore, turn on the HTC touchscreen, what to do if the smartphone does not turn on. HTC won't turn on

Today it is simply impossible to imagine the daily life of a modern, sociable person without a cell phone. Despite the wide variety of communication gadgets on the global market, this indispensable little helper, remains the constant leader in convenient communication. For any user, HTC phones quickly became a natural extension of his hand. And, conversely, even any short absence of a smartphone at hand causes the owner a feeling of uncertainty and discomfort - thoughts are constantly spinning in the head that someone can urgently call or send a message while the user has carelessly lost his vigilance? There are also fans of communicators who even move around their own apartment with a mobile device. One can only guess what kind of disappointment the user faces if suddenly for some reason the HTC phone turns off and does not turn on.

Experience from using mobile phones shows that there may actually be several reasons why your HTC smartphone refuses to turn on in the old fashioned way when you press the power button. The most common are considered to be:

    1. the most famous one is that the battery is completely dead (discharged). This is a very simple and quite common reason why the HTC communicator does not turn on;
    2. there was a problem connecting the power button to the mobile device. Usually it occurs due to the ingress of tiny debris, sand, and dust accumulated in the gaps between the power button and the small hole for it, which subsequently prevents the button from responding to presses. In the current situation, one should also not exclude the possibility of a manufacturing defect;
    3. malfunction of the operating system. Most often it happens due to incorrect firmware or entering into a smartphone harmful viruses when downloading any programs. With such careless handling, there is also a high probability that the HTC mobile phone will not want to turn on;
    4. the communicator was damaged. As a rule, with such a breakdown it is only able to vibrate seven times. This is precisely what indicates that the device is not able to cope with the load operating system;
    5. spoiled battery. In order to check that the HTC phone does not turn on due to the fault of an outdated battery, just open the back cover of the case and carefully examine the appearance of the battery. If it is visible that it is swollen or stains of liquid appear on it, immediately remove it from the gadget and replace it with a new one.;
    6. The difficulties are associated with the failure of one of the phone's microcircuits. If a microcircuit burns out, you cannot do it without the help of an experienced technician.

    HTC won't turn on

Owners of the Desire V smartphone sometimes encounter an unpleasant situation when they cannot restart HTC or turn on the switched off device. In other words, instead of stylish smartphone You have a non-working “brick” in your hands.

Today this problem is becoming more common. After all, a smartphone HTC Desire V was released in 2012. Today, devices in active use are already several years old. It is not surprising that during this time they could suffer from mechanical or other damage (for example, from humidity). Factory defects, if there were any, also have a high chance of appearing during this time.

Therefore, today the situation when HTC Desire V does not turn on occurs quite often. But is it worth immediately running to the workshop, much less to get a new device? We recommend that you first try some at-home methods for restoring your smartphone. HTC models are famous for their longevity active life(even if not all of them turn out to be such epic long-livers as HTC HD2).

There may be several reasons why the smartphone does not turn on:

    • Damaged power button
    • Faulty power controller
    • Dead battery
    • Damage to the device due to moisture penetration
    • Software glitch

Almost all of these problems can be solved with qualified intervention. Of course, if you are not a professional, it is better to take your smartphone to a workshop.

What to do with phones that don't turn on.

There are several simple measures, which can save your smartphone from “loss of consciousness”. Let's try to look at them.

    • Remove and insert the battery. People who have held new HTC products with a non-separable case in their hands will look at this advice as strange. Fortunately, Desire V is a smartphone with a collapsible body and removable battery. Sometimes this helps the phone turn on.
    • Do a hard reset. This is done on HTC in a standard way: Press and hold the Power key and Volume Down key at the same time. After this, the smartphone should boot into recovery mode. Use the volume buttons to select " Factory Reset" Press the Power button to confirm.
    • Recharge the battery. HTC Desire V may not turn on because the battery charge has dropped below a critical level. Try to find a spare battery and test the phone's functionality with it. The main battery can be recharged both in the smartphone itself and in the universal docking station. You can also use frog chargers. If you can charge the battery outside the smartphone, but not in the smartphone, this means a problem with the power controller. Theoretically, you can live with this by charging the battery outside the phone, but, of course, it is better to have the device repaired.

Sometimes, however, these measures do not help. If the problem is in the power board or button, then software methods will not work, and a hard reset will not work at all. If your HTC does not turn on after all these measures, you will need hardware repair.

Disassembling an HTC at home is a task for self-confident people who are familiar with at least the basics of work. If you have not encountered repairing smartphones, but know how to hold a screwdriver and a soldering iron in your hands, then numerous video instructions on YouTube will help you. If not, then it is better to trust the professionals at the service center.

If you dropped or drowned your smartphone before the problem occurred, it is better to tell us about it directly. The real reason competent repairmen will find problems in any case, your story will just help save time. And don’t be afraid to look stupid in front of them: hiding the root of the problem is much stupider. Honesty will help both you and the masters.

Probably, if the smartphone no longer turns on, it’s too late to advise making a backup of all useful data. But in any case, before giving away your smartphone:

    • Remove the memory card and SIM card
    • Make sure that your cloud storage (at least Google) stores your phone book and other personal data
    • Check when a copy of the data was made in HTC Sync(if you use it)
    • After repair, set up automatic backups to local and cloud storage

Then, if problems reoccur, they will not take you by surprise. You can easily restore your profile on your phone after repair or just as easily transfer data to a new smartphone.

There may be several reasons why the communicator does not respond to pressing the power button. Experience using HTC devices shows that sometimes the smartphone may not turn on as a result of the battery being completely discharged. Next possible reason, due to which problems may arise with device activation, is a malfunction of the operating system. Another circumstance that may make it difficult to get the device into working condition is damage to the hardware components of the communicator. The above reasons can be considered the most common.

Troubleshooting problems that make it impossible to turn on your smartphone

In a situation where the smartphone cannot be turned on in the usual way, the first thing you should do is remove the battery for 2-3 minutes and insert it back. After this, you need to hold down the power button for a few seconds. If the battery is not removable, you still need to do the same with the button. Sometimes just this simple action may be enough to solve the problem.

If pressing the button for an extended period does not produce results, you can proceed to the next step. You need to make sure that the battery has enough charge left to operate the communicator. To do this, you need to connect the smartphone to the mains using the original charger with which the device was purchased. After which it is advisable to leave the smartphone on charge for some time. The best option is at least 30 minutes. Then you can try to turn on the communicator again.

If, after these manipulations, the smartphone still refuses to turn on, you can try resetting the communicator to its factory state. This procedure resets operating system settings and deletes all user data. Thus, after resetting the settings, the system will return to the state in which it was when the smartphone was first turned on. No personal data previously downloaded by the user will remain on the device. If your smartphone cannot start up due to a software glitch, resetting to factory settings will most likely solve this problem.

The procedure can be done using the device’s hardware buttons. Detailed instructions for performing a reset for different models of HTC communicators can be found on the company's official website: http://www.htc.com.

In cases where even resetting to factory settings does not help to “reanimate” the smartphone, there is a high probability of damage to the device’s hardware. In such situations, it is better to contact the service center employees.

The first part is for those who want to change the glass themselves, the second part is for those who encountered problems after replacing the glass. Judging by the reviews online, the problem of the red charging indicator being lit worries many users. We have put together our experience and the experience of Internet users in one material

    Before replacement.

How to remove files (photos/videos) if the display is broken?

If you are afraid for the safety of your memories in the form of photographs and videos, then the program will help you download them to your PC MyPhoneExplorer. It consists of two parts - the client (installed on the phone) and the “server” - installed on the PC. If you don’t see anything at all on the display, then don’t worry - when you install the PC version and connect the phone to the computer, the client part will be installed on the phone automatically.

You can download from here. Or, if English is difficult, then from here

How to choose a display? Which one should I buy: z520 or z560? Are they interchangeable?

If you buy a display in an online store, you may find that some also indicate the model, something like "Display for HTC One Z520". The marking at the end indicates the type of processor - Z520 is an S4 processor, Z560 is an S3 processor. And there are stores that don’t even write for which specific model the display is sold. If you are tormented by the same question, then you will not find a definite answer on the Internet. But user experience suggests that the display is identical for both the z520 and z560 and there is no difference which option to buy in the online store. At least the screen from S3(z520) fits perfectly on the S4(z560) motherboard

Maybe it’s not the display’s fault at all?

If you have something similar to noise on your TV screen when there is no signal from the antenna, then you may want to hold off on purchasing and replacing the display. This may be due to the screen cable coming off the board (usually when shaken or hit, the display works normally again for a while)

We will tell you where this cable is and how to insert it back into the connector in the next chapter.

Replacing the glass (display) of HTC One S

Remove the top cover by prying it by the special recess

Unscrew the 4 bolts (you will need a Phillips screwdriver and an asterisk)

Do not try to remove the red plug after this step - there is another bolt under the housing that holds it in place

    Remove the back cover.

The part underneath is attached with glue, so you need to apply some force to remove it from the phone.

As a result, you will only have the board parts left.

Here is the last bolt to remove the red plug:

To disconnect the battery, you must first disconnect the cable (removed by moving upward):

If this is your first time disassembling the HTC One S, the battery will be glued to the case. It takes some effort to remove it. The cable that goes underneath also needs to be disconnected.

Unscrew the last bolt on the top right of the battery:

    Disconnect the speaker wire:

Before final gluing new display insert the cables through the hole in the case in advance

HTC One S does not turn on after glass replacement. Red charging indicator

If after replacing the glass you are faced with the fact that the phone no longer turns on, then the material below is especially for you.

    2.1 Symptoms

Doesn't respond to the power key. When charging is connected, the charging indicator flashes or lights steadily red. Or it will blink first, then within a day it will light up again in a stable red color. The phone feels warm or even hot to the touch.

    2.2. Possible reasons

    "DEAD" PROCESSOR

If the phone starts to slow down, but red stripes appear at the edges of the screen, then get ready for the fact that the phone will not turn on one day. At all. This is the processor saying hello to you. Yours awaits the same thing as the users below - board replacement.

    “DEAD” SYSTEM BOARD

If you disassembled the phone carelessly, then it is quite possible that you damaged the system board. In any case, a constantly lit or flashing red charging indicator can symbolize exactly this. To be more precise, the power controller on motherboard. It can only be cured by replacing it, and at the service center they charge a lot of money for a replacement - 7 or 8 thousand rubles.

The power controller may fail gradually - the charging indicator will light yellow, and after 10-20 seconds it will flash yellow-green. The display will inform you with the message "Unknown" and an exclamation mark on the battery icon. By the way, the battery will run out very quickly even when charged - another alarm bell.

The motherboard is the most expensive element of the HTC One S, even if you order a non-original part. Even if you don't pay the service center for the replacement work. Therefore, it is better to sell the phone for parts or completely consign it to oblivion.

    DEFECTIVE DISPLAY

There is an opinion that HTC ONE S will only work with original display and everything you can buy on online flea markets like aliexpress will not work. We purchased the display from the link below. But according to reviews online, many people’s phone did not work even with the original display, and some even tried several displays.

The choice of display does not depend on the S3 or S4 processor model. If you change the display, then order only the original one! There is a high probability that if you buy Chinese, you will throw money away, as happened in our case.

    DISCHARGED THE PHONE TO ZERO

Service center technicians often complain that HTC phones, especially the One series cannot be completely discharged. This can be a problem because... The charger that comes with the kit is not quite suitable in terms of power and the phone simply cannot turn on. There are also cases on the Internet that after discharge and completely The firmware crashes.

2.3. Solutions (which didn't help me, but might help you)

    ENTERING SAFE MODE / RESET

In order to make a Reset and/or go to Bootloader to reset the phone to factory settings, you should do the following manipulations - hold down the “Power” and “Volume Down” buttons. Hold until a special service menu appears. If it does not appear, try first charging the phone for ~30-60 minutes. In the window, using, again, the keys on the phone “Volume +/-”, go to the FACTORY RESET item. Next, press the “Power” key again and the phone will reboot.

You need to understand that resetting to factory settings (Factory Reset) will destroy all your information on the phone, i.e. SMS, contacts. Therefore, if the phone has already entered service menu, then try doing FASTBOOT first and then select REBOOT. If this does not help, then reset your phone to factory settings.

DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR A TIME

To make the phone work again, you need to disconnect the battery for 10-15 minutes. The problem is that the battery on the HTC One S is unfortunately not removable. Those. To disconnect the cable or completely remove the battery you need to disassemble the phone a little. See how to do this in the “Replacing glass” section just above. It is not necessary to completely remove the battery - if you do this for the first time, it will be glued. So just unplug the cable for a while and plug it back in. After assembling the phone, put it on charge for 10-15 minutes, only after that try to turn on the phone.

    CONNECT MORE POWERFUL CHARGING

Try to find a charger with more high strength current (amperage). A standard tablet charger is rated at 2A, while a smartphone charger is only rated at 1A.

Fly phones are one of the easiest phones to repair, so if you need to change the screen or display on smartphones of this brand,...

Today, when buying a phone, you cannot be 100% sure that it will work without various problems during the agreed warranty period.

Your HTC phone won't turn on? There may be several reasons for this. However, if none of the proposed situations describes your problem, then service specialists will always help you.

Please note that the result of an HTC smartphone not turning on may be due to careless handling of the device, a software glitch, or a manufacturing defect. The same reasons may be due to the fact that the device “does not catch”, does not charge, or even reboots itself. If you need to “heal” your HTC phone as quickly as possible, then immediately take it to a workshop or, if your device is under warranty, to a service center.

However, first, let’s try to revive the smartphone ourselves. First of all, put your phone on charge and charge it for as long as possible, about a day. The device may be completely discharged. The second option is to remove the battery and put it back in place. If this does not help, run to the service center.

The technicians will find out what caused the malfunction: mechanical impact on the HTC phone, moisture on it (perhaps the contacts inside the device have oxidized), they will check the operation of the smartphone’s battery, the charging connector, and whether the power button and microcircuits are in order. As a result of this, when a “diagnosis” is made, either repair of some component of the device or its complete replacement will be required.

A common reason why an HTC phone does not turn on is an incorrectly selected software, and as a result, the device does not work correctly. In this case, you need to “reflash” the smartphone, either yourself or from service specialists.

This can also be one of the tasks if the device is turned off and does not turn on again.

There are several ways to solve this problem:

    1. try to solve it by manually flashing the smartphone. As a rule, the power-on problem occurs after an unsuccessful update of the operating system, which must be reinstalled. You can do this using personal computer. It is better to install already verified firmware versions to avoid similar difficulties;
    2. contact the company's service center. The center’s specialists always have only proven methods for solving such problems, and they will be able to install a new working operating system on your smartphone without any problems.

The difficulty with the operating system is not the most noticeable, and therefore help in solving it will not cost a lot of money.

    Microcircuits or battery are faulty

It's very easy to check that your HTC won't turn on due to the battery's fault. To do this, you need to open the back panel of the device and see what condition the battery is in. If it is swollen or liquid stains are visible on its surface, it is necessary to urgently replace it. The cost of this item is not very high

The only option is to go to a service center for specialist help. Depending on the complexity of the work and the rarity of the chip, the price for repairs can cost up to a third of the cost of the smartphone itself.

    What adds difficulties?

Of course, a switched off phone is always a problem, regardless of whether it is expensive or ultra-budget. But given the characteristics of some models, it is extremely difficult to independently verify the cause of the incident.

We are talking about HTC models that are manufactured in such a way that the battery and everything else are non-removable. In this regard, even a small problem with the battery can result in a completely major incident.

Therefore, you should not go inside your device if the most simple steps did not help in solving the problem. It is better to immediately seek qualified help from HTC service center employees.

The article is devoted to a common problem - HTC phone does not turn on. The main reasons for this are considered, as well as possible ways solutions.

Actually I bought an HTC One mini, updated to sense 6 and it started to turn off on its own, and after 2 days it stopped turning on and charging. I took it in for service under warranty, after 3 weeks they returned the phone in working condition (they said that they had replaced the motherboard contact cable), although well-known cracks appeared on the rim, but I closed my eyes to it because I was glad that it was working. But on the 2nd day it turned itself off twice, and on the 3rd day it did not turn on. Again at the SC, they said that most likely they would have to change the central part (they said it was a waste of time to update it, the percentage couldn’t stand it and died, like this phone is not designed to be constantly updated. Question: why then update it, especially since they plan to Android 5 update?). I called them 2 weeks later and they said a replacement would cost half the phone. But at the same time, they are not even sure that this is the problem. I googled and found out that in 40% of cases the problem is in the firmware. And so main question: How much exactly will the replacement cost (preferably in hryvnias, but rubles will do)? And if I pay, but the problem remains, will I get my money back?

So on at the moment There is an option to solve your problem, namely resetting the phone to factory settings. To do this, you need to go to the device’s service menu; it is usually available even if the firmware itself is damaged. So:

Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.
Wait for the screen with three Android images, and then release the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
Press the VOLUME DOWN button to select RESTORE ORIGINAL SETTINGS, and then press the POWER button.
This method only works if the option is disabled fast loading in power settings.

There is a possibility that your device suffered a manufacturing defect, as a result of which many of its components were damaged and do not work as they should, which is why problems with the phone arise periodically (for example, as a result of a defect, the phone did not accept the firmware as it should), and not immediately after repair. In accordance with the law on “Protection of Consumer Rights”, Article 25, if 2 years have not passed after purchasing the device

    Show in full

weeks You have the right to request a replacement phone if its quality does not suit you. You can replace your phone at the place of purchase if you still have the receipt and have your passport.

    Regarding refunds:
Find out from the service center whether they provide a guarantee that the device will work properly after repair; if they do not provide a guarantee, then you will not be able to return the money in the future; if there is a guarantee, then they must either return your money or repair the device for free.

We don't know anything about the cost, unfortunately. But it will consist of the cost of the replaced parts + some percentage for the work.

Also, if possible, you can roll back the firmware, but if not, we can only sympathize with you. In the future, if you bought faulty equipment, it is better to replace it immediately (until 14 days have passed) than to send it in for repair under warranty.

    1) I did a factory reset, but I did it in the phone settings.
    2) When I couldn’t turn it on, even when I pressed the volume down button + power button I couldn’t start anything.
    3) 3 months have passed since the purchase and thanks to my “carefulness” all I have left from the documents is the warranty card and instructions.
    4) Regarding laws, I’m from Ukraine and there seem to be slightly different consumer rights.
Please tell me what is the likelihood that they are simply lying to me that the processor is dead and needs to be replaced, costing as much as half a phone.

    1. It doesn’t matter where you are from, the law on consumer protection is valid in any country and in any country there is also a Consumer Rights Protection Society where you can contact if you are refused a replacement product, as an example.

    2. There is a possibility that you are being deceived in order to rip off some more money from you. It is possible that the problem is not so serious, but, seeing that you do not particularly understand the device, they are hanging noodles on your ears. Alternatively, before sending the device in for repair, you can take a photo of the inside of the phone, and after repair, check the device with the photos. If what was replaced was not what they said in the service center or if nothing was done at all, you can safely make a claim.

    3. You cannot get into the service menu because... In your phone's power settings, you have it turned on quick start.

Let's repeat again, perhaps the problem was initially in the phone. they rarely die even during the first year, but for you everything happened much faster.

    1. Unfortunately, the cover is not removable, of course I can remove it, but then no one will be able to assemble the phone (I know myself).
    2. I paid attention to the quick launch in advance and turned it off. I turned off the phone and went into the boot menu without any problems to make sure that everything was working.
    3. So I can return the money without a receipt, but with a guarantee that indicates the date of purchase and the seller?
