But at what point did this “network mania” begin and what other social networks are there in which you need to register faster than others?

It is generally accepted that the pioneer in this area was the young founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg. But this is far from true; the popular film “The Social Network” only tells the story of the emergence of one specific site. The phenomenon itself became known much earlier. In fact, the first experience in creating some semblance of social networks was the American “double” of Odnoklassniki, the site classmates.com (“classmates” is translated as classmates), registered in 1995. The creator, Randy Conrad, had no intention of “conquering the world.” The main purpose of the site was to search for friends and acquaintances using the list of people who studied at a particular university, school or college.
