Let's look at the case when we have a Shturmann navigator, but we don't like its native navigation program. The navigators of this company are good, but the standard navigation program for Russia is not very suitable.

There is a “Shturmann” folder in the navigator’s memory, which will contain all the maps, the launch file and other files.

To install the navigation program you like, you will have to delete the “native” folder “Shturmann” with all internal files from the navigator's memory.

We do not touch the “Shell.ini” file. It contains the path to the file that launches the navigator's navigation program, regardless of what program is installed.

That is, this folder should already be downloaded to your personal computer or laptop in advance.

Now let's turn to the already familiar “Shell.ini” file. Now, due to changes in the navigation program, it is necessary to register new way to the file that launches the program.

Initially, it will contain the following path - “\ResidentFlash\Shturmann\NAV.exe”. We need to change it.

For example, we took the navigation Navitel program. For this program the path will look like this. "\ResidentFlash\Navitel\Navitel.exe".

In this way "ResidentFlash" is the name internal memory navigator. If you are using a flash drive on a navigator, the name will be different (for example, something like SD/MMC, or something completely different). You can find the name using the PortTool program. It will give a description of the device status. “Navitel” is the name of the main folder where the navigation program is located. “Navitel.exe” is the name of the file that launches the program.

Accordingly, if we install a different navigation program, then the path will be different. So, for the iGo navigation program, the path will be as follows: “\ResidentFlash\iGo\iGo.exe”. For other programs, you can guess by analogy what the path will be. Or, in order not to guess, find the launching file, left-click it once, copy or remember the path to it, which will appear at the top of the window. See the image below.

To this path, after the slash, all that remains is to add the name of the launching file itself (this file always ends with the extension “exe”).

If you have any problems finding the path to the launch file, you can double-check it in the navigator settings themselves.

In most cases, the navigator eventually finds the path to this file itself. Questions may arise if more than one navigation program is installed on the navigator.

1. We take out the microSD flash drive from the navigator. Just like during flashing.
2. We connect the flash drive to the PC via a card reader.
3. We format the flash drive, and then upload the unzipped firmware file onto it.
4. Insert the flash drive back and turn on the device.
5. We are waiting for a dialog box to appear in which we confirm that we agree to flash the device.
6. After this, wait until the device reboots itself.
7. When the device has rebooted, turn off the navigator and remove the flash drive.
8. Again, connect the flash drive to the PC and format it (if you do not format it, then every time you turn on the navigator, the device will ask you about flashing the gadget).
9. We insert the flash drive into the navigator and turn it on, after which we execute basic settings, at your own discretion.
10. Done, your navigator will be reflashed!
