Method 1. Standard

So let's get started. Visit us at: Start -> Options -> Accounts. You can also quickly get to Settings by pressing the combination Win+I.

In the accounts window, click on the tab on the left Family and other users. Then click in the section Other users link Add a user for this computer.

We will now begin the user creation process, during which Windows will strongly recommend a network account. At first, Windows will simply think that you want to add a user with account Microsoft first of all asks you to enter his e-mail or phone number. But we say our firm “No!” and click on the little invisible link below I don't have this person's login information.

But Windows is not going to give up so quickly and offers to create a new Microsoft account. This, of course, is not part of our plans and we again click on the small and inconspicuous link below with the name Add a user without a Microsoft account.

Windows 10 is beginning to understand that we are determined and will go to the bitter end. And in the next window we are finally allowed to create a local account. Enter the username, for example, User2 and password if necessary. You can do without a password, it’s at your discretion. And we complete the process with the Next button.

Well, here it is, our local happiness is on the list) By the way, you can delete an unnecessary user or one that has become unnecessary if you select the account and select Delete.

By default, it is created standard user with limited rights. If you are happy with this, then you don’t need to change anything, but if you want to promote the user to Administrator, then click on his name and select Change account type. Select Administrator from the list and confirm with OK.

Method 2. Tricky-advanced

Open the Run window using the Win + R key combination. Enter one of the commands there: netplwiz or control userpasswords2. Both options will bring up the same window. Press OK or Enter on the keyboard.

User Accounts shows a list of accounts on your computer. Press the button Add… and let's start creating a new user.

Windows 10 will again cheerfully advise us to create a Microsoft account. We'll also cheerfully ignore this advice and click on the little inconspicuous link below: Sign in without a Microsoft account.

Now we choose Local account.

And now we can finally start adding a local user. Enter a name, and if you want, use a password to complicate access. Click Next.

Which method to prefer

Based on all of the above, it is quite obvious that the fastest method that allows you to create an “account” and immediately add it to the administrators group is to use the command line, although all of the above methods are absolutely equivalent to each other. Simply entering commands in the console saves a lot of time, and the result is exactly the same as when calling different types of additional menus, sections and services.

Sometimes, even on home computers, there is a need to solve the problem of how to add a user to Windows 10. This can be done using several basic options. Many people immediately have a question about why this is necessary. The answer is simple: you can create several accounts with limited rights for your family members so that they cannot change the system settings or harm it. And what can we say about office computers, which can employ two or more clerks?

How to add a user to Windows 10: method one

The main method is to use Windows settings(second “Control Panel”). This section can be accessed through standard menu“Start”, but in a simplified version it is better to use the shortcut Win + I.

Here you select the accounts section, after which you go to the family and other users menu, located in the column on the left. On the right side of the window, you need to select the other users section and click the add new user button, indicated by a plus. Next you will be prompted to enter your address. email or telephone. However, in Windows 10 you can add a local user without this. You just need to click on the link below (you don't have any data). Using the Command Line

The command to add a user with a password looks something like this: net user NAME PASSWORD /add, where NAME is the name of the new user, and PASSWORD is the password (these values are set arbitrarily). After this, the enter key is pressed, and the new user will appear in the list of system users, but again without having administrator rights.

Adding a user to a group

Now let's see how to add a user to a group (for example, administrator) in Windows 10. To do this, you first need to launch this system tool by entering the combination lusrmgr.msc in the Run console (Win + R). First, the user folder is selected, and the center field in the right-click menu uses the add new user line. Next enter necessary information and click the create button. After this, the group membership section is selected, through RMB, the line for adding a registration record is selected and indicated the right group(for example, “Administrators”).

Assignment of rights

Since the new user, after registration, has, so to speak, they can be expanded by changing the registration type to administrator. That, in fact, is all that concerns the creation of a new registration for Windows systems 10. It is difficult to say which method of all the above is better. Here everyone chooses what is more convenient for them to work with, although in terms of efficiency and the results obtained, they are all absolutely equivalent to each other. 6. If you want to create it, fill out all the forms and click “Next”, otherwise follow the “Add a user without a Microsoft account” link, which is located at the bottom of the window.

On Windows 10, any new user has normal (limited) privileges. To obtain computer administrator rights, you must complete several steps.

Go to the “Family and other users” subsection, located in the “Accounts” section of the “Options” menu.
At the bottom of the right frame of the window we find the desired user and click on its icon or name.
Click on the “Change account type” button.
In the drop-down list with account types, select “Administrator” and click “OK” to save the new settings.

Creating a new account via the command line

There is an easier way to get an account in Windows 10. To do this, we will use text commands executed via the command line.

Note that all actions will be similar to the first option, with the only difference being that the commands will be executed in text mode.

You will need administrator privileges to be able to create and edit existing accounts.

1. Launch the command line with extended privileges, for example, through the search line.

2. Enter a command like “net user UserName Pass /add” and run it by clicking “Enter”.

Here UserName is the name of the new account, Pass is the password for authorization in the system.
