• What is iCloud and how to use it on iPhone, iPad and Mac. The iCloud and Apple ID menu is not active - why can’t you log out?

    Greetings! Today, immediately after iPhone updates(while trying to log in with my account), I encountered an unusual error. The phone happily told me that this was not possible, and wrote approximately the following - “Verification failed, login failed. There was an error connecting to the Apple ID server." The most interesting thing is that because of this, the phone actually turns into an ordinary “dialer”, because it is impossible to use all Apple services- V App Store can’t log in, can’t download a game or application, can’t activate iCloud, etc.

    I successfully overcame this adversity, and I very much wish the same for you. And this instruction will tell you what exactly needs to be done in in this case and how to overcome the problem. Let's go!

    First, I advise you to check whether the Apple ID is correct and valid, that is, functioning in at the moment. To do this, follow the link to the official website and enter your account information. If it doesn't open, then... If everything is “ok”, we will look for other reasons for the failure.

    The error occurs on iPhone and iPad

    Problem connecting to Apple servers may already be waiting for you. And here there are only two options that can be taken:

    1. Try to activate via your computer using iTunes. Although difficulties may arise here, more on that below.
    2. Just skip creation of Apple ID and do this later, after turning on the device.

    If you cannot log into your Apple ID on an already loaded device, or vice versa, you have logged in, but the App Store and other services do not work due to a server failure, you should pay attention to:

    By the way, jailbreaking can also cause similar problems. Therefore, if the previous methods do not help, and you still cannot log in to your Apple ID, we get rid of the jail. Let me remind you that this can only be done correctly through.

    On a computer using iTunes

    In rare cases, server connection errors and various failures with the Apple ID or App Store may also occur while working with iTunes. However, they are quite easy to get rid of. To do this:

    1. We make sure that the computer is connected to the Internet (stupid, of course, but anything is possible).
    2. Antiviruses, firewalls, and other defenders may block access to Apple servers. Turn them off for a while.
    3. The iTunes version must be installed.
    4. If your Apple ID account has already been used on the computer, then we try to “unhook” it from the program. To do this, open iTunes - in the left top corner Click on “store” - deauthorize this computer. Reboot the PC.

    Let's try to log in again and, most likely, you will be able to do it!

    These are actually all the actions that you can perform to combat the error connecting to Apple ID servers. Yes, there are not many of them, but the most important thing is that they really work!

    Or other Apple technology, you will have to create your own Apple ID. Do this and remember the password, or better yet, write it down somewhere. An Apple ID is required to synchronize and store data in iCloud, as well as to download programs and media files from the App Store and iTunes Store.

    Select what you want to sync

    If you go to iCloud settings, you will see a bunch of items, and on the contrary - switches. Select the types of data that should be on all your devices: photos, contacts, calendars, notes. It’s better not to disable the “Find My iPhone” function - in case of theft or loss, you will thank yourself.

    Additional items that can also be synchronized are hidden in other menu tabs. For example, you can receive calls on all devices, regardless of which one you are being called on. Just turn on the toggle switch in the FaceTime item. To sync all messages across devices, go to the “Messages” section. You can add everything there email addresses and telephone numbers where SMS should be sent.

    When purchasing secondhand, make sure all data is deleted

    If you are starting to use a phone that someone has already used before you, look at the iCloud settings at the seller. The former owner of the device must delete all data from the iCloud, iTunes Store and App Store sections. You won't be able to do this yourself - the device will ask for a password. Make sure that the seller completely removes all data that was already on the phone/tablet. For your own peace of mind, you should reset all settings in front of the seller - the “Basic” item.

    A guarantee that your device will never remember the previous owner will be that he removes the gadget from the list on the website. We advise you to check it.

    Don't give your Apple ID to anyone

    It's simple - never give your Apple ID to anyone. Even best friend, with whom you have been together since diapers. Stupidly, it might set up your devices to sync. In the worst case, change the password. If they did give you a password, check to see if someone else’s phone has been added to your devices. This can be done in iCloud settings.

    If suddenly you did give someone your Apple ID and password, there is a huge chance that the devices have synchronized and are being monitored. This is especially true for separated couples: after all, it was so romantic - shared access to iCloud and the App Store.

    To understand whether your data is on someone else’s device, scroll through the photos in the photo stream - are there any strangers? The same should be done with the contact list and Safari. The latter knows how to show open tabs on synchronized devices. Don't forget to check your notes in the iCloud section.

    Another sign of synchronization - extra contacts in iMessage. Try creating a new message and typing each letter of the alphabet in turn. Doesn't it show strange contacts?

    Change your password and check your messaging settings and associated devices

    The easiest way to correct the situation is to contact this person and ask him in a good way to erase your access from his phone, at the same time deleting all the data that has already been synchronized.

    If a person does not want to get rid of your phone, then you need to change the iCloud password. Then go to the message settings and check which numbers and email addresses SMS messages from iMessage are sent to. Delete unnecessary ones in the “Sending / Receiving” section.

    To delete all data from someone else's phone, you need to go to iTunes, connect your phone and see connected devices. Remove all other people's gadgets from the list.

    After all the above manipulations, the data may stop synchronizing - or not. They can be deleted from someone else's device. Or not. If nothing has changed, contact the service Apple support. After much correspondence and questioning, they will definitely help you.

    Don't let your Apple ID be hacked

    Hacking of mail and accounts in social networks Today you won’t surprise anyone. In order to get money, scammers hack your Apple ID, activate “Lost Mode” and turn your phone into a brick. To avoid this, first, never sign into someone else's iCloud. Secondly, install different passwords for mail and Apple ID (as well as for all other applications).

    So, if you entered someone else's Apple ID and your phone is blocked, only support can help you. Call 8-800-555-67-34 and prepare a check. Without it, your phone can be sold for parts, unfortunately.

    If the scoundrels found the password to your mail and account, you have a chance to get everything back. To do this, you need to reset your password. Let's go to the official website iforgot.apple.com. You will have to answer three questions and indicate the address reserve mail: the password reset email will be sent there. After this, you need to go to and in the “Find iPhone” section disable “Lost Mode”.

    Apple uses a cloud called iCloud for storage. . As soon as you start your phone, new information appears on it, settings that are convenient for you, important photos and recordings. What should I do to prevent them from getting lost and discarded?

    In this article we will tell you about this method of storing and synchronizing information from the developer as Apple iCloud, as well as how to set up iCloud on iPhone 5s, 4s and 6.

    Setting up iCloud on iPhone

    First, we need to figure out why we need this storage and what it is. iCloud can save your settings, transfer various information between those in your use Apple devices and back up your data.

    This addition is an integral part of the life of any smartphone from the manufacturer. It helps the user reduce the number of actions performed, bringing them to automation.

    If you have never used this service before, then get ready for the fact that all the changes you make inside your phone will be remembered and automatically installed on other devices.

    What are the main features of this application?

    If you have at least one Apple device, it could be an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch or a Mac computer, then iCloud will definitely come in handy.

    Amount of available storage space

    For each user of an apple device, 5 Gigabytes are available in iCloud for convenient storage of data from your applications that you use, mail, necessary numbers and notes, and backup copies of information from your smartphone.

    There are some restrictions that you should not forget about when using this service. for example in the number of photographs. They can be of any size, but do not exceed the limit of 1000 pieces. Otherwise, the remaining ones will be deleted, giving preference to newer images. There are also paid tariffs in this application, which have recently been significantly updated and look quite acceptable.

    Paid tariffs

    IN given time in iCloud There are 4 paid tariffs for use, in which the price is per month:

    • 20 GB - 39 rubles;
    • 200 GB - 149 rubles;
    • 500 GB - 379 rubles;
    • 1000 GB - 749 rubles.

    Here you have access to managing Contacts, Notes, Photos, Reminders, Calendars, Find My iPhone, iCloud Drive cloud storage, and so on.

    In addition, the service allows you to run free cloud tools from the iWork package (analogous to Microsoft Office from Apple). You can edit text documents (Word) and spreadsheets (Excel) directly in the browser.

    iCloud Photo Library

    The service allows you to create a copy of content in the cloud with the ability to synchronize with all iOS devices and Mac computers associated with one Apple ID account.

    About how to activate and work with Keychain on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Mac we talked about in.

    How to protect data on iCloud

    To protect your Apple ID account and data stored in iCloud, use a complex password and turn it on.

    iPhone is a powerful smartphone with a huge range of capabilities - here you have both a work office and an entertainment center in one. With the help of an i-gadget, the user solves a lot of different problems and, of course, it accumulates a bunch of important, interesting, useful information. Of course, losing it overnight by losing it, breaking your phone, or becoming a victim of theft is very sad.

    It is noteworthy that the majority of those who have at least once unexpectedly lost their faithful electronic assistant, regret not more about the loss of a materially valuable object and the need to spend money on new gadget(although Apple smartphones are by no means cheap), but about the loss of important data. This is why it is so necessary to create backup copy all information stored on the device.

    Good modern technologies They allow you to perform backups literally in two taps. The so-called cloud service - iCloud - comes to the aid of Apple users. What kind of “beast” this is and how to use it, we’ll talk in this article.

    What is cloud storage?

    Cloud storage (or, as modern users have romantically dubbed it, “the cloud”) is a collection of online servers distributed on a network on which the user can store a backup copy of important data.

    Clouds are created by various companies, that is, in fact, the user, by sending information to an online storage, transfers his data to third parties, but, of course, on the basis of an agreement that it will be protected and inviolable.

    What if data is stolen from the cloud?

    Should you be afraid for your data if it is stored by a third party? In general, no more than for jewelry placed in a safe deposit box at a bank. Of course, information leakage can happen, but banks have been robbed for hundreds of years, but this does not mean that money should be kept in your apartment - it is still safer in a special institution.

    iCloud is the official cloud storage for Apple technology users

    The “range” of online storage today is large, but owners of i-smartphones do not need to waste time to choose the most reliable and convenient one, because it is already in every Apple device, its name is iCloud, using this service, you can have maximum peace of mind for your data.

    What information does the cloud store?

    In iCloud you can back up almost any type of data stored on your device, here is a complete list of them:

    • Music (including ringtones, TV shows and other audio materials)
    • Video
    • Books
    • Applications and their data
    • Basic smartphone settings, including desktop settings
    • Messages (sent via both iMessages and in the usual way)

    However, you can quite limit this range; more details on how to do this in the section “How to use iCloud?”

    More than just saving data...

    Of course, the main option of iCloud on the iPhone and other i-devices is to save information important to the user. However, if you have several Apple gadgets, you will certainly appreciate the ability to synchronize information between them. This option gives you access to some really cool features. It’s clear that all content (music, photos, etc.) will be present on all synchronized devices. But look what we have since iCloud can remember application data...

    For example, your iPhone and iPad are synchronized via iCloud, which means that you can start playing some game on your smartphone, and then, well, if your smartphone is low, for example, continue on your iPad, and exactly where you left off .

    And all this is free?

    Of course, when you learn about such cool opportunities, the thought immediately appears that all this is not free. Partly, the idea is correct. Apple generously provides the user with 5GB of free space, and in general, this is enough to store truly valuable data. But if you need more space, no one is stopping you from buying it.

    iCloud tariffs

    • 50 GB - 59 rubles per month
    • 200 GB - 149 rubles per month
    • 1 TB - 599 rubles per month

    iTunes Match is another cool iCloud feature you have to pay for

    iTunes Match is a service created for music lovers, allowing you to save on buying music. The service automatically analyzes the library of all music stored on the PC you are working on when you connect your i-gadget to iTunes, looks for a copy in the iTunes Store and downloads it (for free!) to all Apple devices synchronized via iCloud in good quality with album cover and detailed information about the composition and performer.

    Thus, up to 25,000 tracks can be processed, and you will not pay anything for them, you will only need to pay for a subscription to the service - $25 per year. It’s very convenient - you don’t need to connect your devices to your PC again to download music, and for such convenience it’s relatively inexpensive.

    How to use iCloud?

    Well, now, about the most important thing - how to set up this wonderful service. Very simple! Follow the short instructions:

    1 Open “Settings”, find the iCloud item - if you have not used the service before, you will need to log in. For authorization, use the Apple ID - the account that you created during the initial setup of the i-gadget. 2 After authorization, a window for working with the cloud will appear in front of you - it is a list of types of information that you can store. Opposite each item is a slider. All you need to do is select the types of data you want to store and activate the appropriate slider. 3 If you have a lot of space in iCloud, you can make all the sliders active, otherwise you will have to choose the most valuable one.

    Several items in the iCloud menu deserve special attention, including iCloud Drive, Backup, Keychain and Find my Phone. Let's look at why to activate them.

    iCloud Drive

    Tap on iCloud Drive and you will find yourself in a new menu, which will list applications for which you can set data storage in the cloud, each program has its own slider. Activate the ones you need and turn off the ones you don't need.

    Backup

    By tapping on the “Backup” line, you will again find yourself in a new menu. If you have never created a backup of information before, you need to first click on the “Create a backup copy” link, and then activate the slider next to the “iCloud backup” option, and then the backup will be performed whenever new information appears on your device .

    Bunch of keys

    This item is responsible for storing Safari passwords. Activate it and you won’t have to constantly enter account settings for one or another personal account when working with the Apple browser.

    Find my Phone

    And finally, Find my Phone is a very cool option. If your phone is stolen and Find my Phone is turned on, you can really annoy the attacker. How? More on this in the next section.

    How to recover data from iCloud?

    Recovering data from iCloud on a new device is very simple. When initially setting up an iPhone (or any other i-gadget), the setup assistant will ask you whether you want to get a “clean” new device or whether you need to transfer all the information from the previous one to it. To restore, of course, you need to choose the second option. Of course, for a successful transfer you will need to indicate the Apple ID of your old device.

    If your smartphone is lost, you don’t have a new one yet, and you need to restore the data urgently, well, for example, to look up an important phone number, take any PC and go to the iCloud.com website (in general, with mobile device you can access this site, but it’s more convenient from a computer), enter your Apple ID information for authorization, and you will have access to all the information that was included in your backup.

    This same site allows you, if you are sure that the smartphone has been stolen, as we said above, to “annoy” the thief. If you previously enabled the Find my Phone option on your device, then through iCloud.com you will have the opportunity to activate “Lost Mode”. After turning it on, the attacker will no longer be able to do anything with the gadget - it will be blocked, and the password will be your Apple ID data.

    Let's summarize

    So now you know what it is cloud service iCloud on your iPhone and you can appreciate the full power of its capabilities. And, as you may have noticed, you only need to create a backup once, then everything will be done for you. So don’t be lazy and make a backup right now if you haven’t already. Can you imagine how annoying it will be if you are lazy today, forget tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow you lose your device?

    I had to exit and enter several times iCloud. In fact, nothing should have happened, but we are dealing with Mac OS X, and as it turns out, everything is possible in it. Currently I have it installed El Capitan, but previously the exact same error haunted me on OS X Mavericks.

    The error is as follows. You log in in the usual way through system settings in iCloud, you work, and the next time you start you will see a window: “ This Mac can't connect to iCloud due to problem [email protected]". Below in the window we are asked to proceed to settings. We go, enter the password, work, and the next time we start the same window.

    The solution to this error turned out to be so simple that I simply didn’t think to take a screenshot! In order to take a screenshot of the error, I had to re-simulate recent actions. Log out and log in repeatedly, sometimes making mistakes in your passwords to be safe. And now I have achieved this, screenshot of the error in front of you! Still not understanding what exactly is causing the problem: frequent logouts and logins or errors when entering passwords?

    The solution is this!

    1. Go to System Preferences -> ICloud and log out of your account, fully agreeing to delete saved data from the computer of all applications (ibook, photo, mail and the like, except Safari passwords). Deleting this data cannot in any way affect its safety; the next time you log into your account, they will all return from iCloud in place.
    2. Required after logging out of your iCloud account - Restart your computer. If you do not reboot and try to enter data right away, this will lead to nothing and the next time you start you will be able to see the same message.
    3. After the reboot, go back to System Settings -> ICloud, but this time we enter your account information, confirm the keychain if you use. It is necessary to prompt for a password after waking up and inactivity of the PC. All!

    After performing these three simple steps, no matter how strange it may seem, there is a problem with the connection Mac To iCloud will be completely resolved. The key is to reboot between logging out and logging in to your account settings.

    I would like to immediately warn you that it does not help everyone; a solution to the problem is possible only for a while. The message was removed, but after a couple of weeks there was an update again and the error appeared. I don’t know about you, but I decided not to worry any further and rearranged the system.

    How I solved the iCloud connection error

    Let's start with the fact that I fought this error for a long time, but the window disappeared for literally a few weeks. What completely infuriated me was that I formatted the disk and installed El Capitan as a blank one. But what do I see after installation and launch? Did you guess it? Same window! Completely repeating the steps from the article, but with a small amendment:

    1. Logged out of the account, deleting everything associated with it from the computer, except Safari passwords(this can remove passwords from iCloud, not always. but it’s better not to risk it.);
    2. Cleared the system cache ( System disk->Libraries -> Caches, don’t even think about deleting anything from the folder System);
    3. Rebooted;
    4. Logged into iCloud;
    5. When you connect to a keychain, a window appears asking you to enable a password request (if you don’t have one set) - go ahead and enable it after the maximum available time - 8 hours.
    6. Rebooting;
    7. Oh, the gods heard me - the window is no longer there))) And it doesn’t appear anymore!

    Conducted a test. Disabling the security password after sleep again causes a connection error. I solved it using the method described above.

    The reason for the error is due to the use of Keychain, which, for some Apple reason, does not want to work without asking for a password after waking up and inactivity of the PC.

    Apple support does not comment on this in any way and ignored my requests on this issue. The only thing I found on the net is that there may be a program conflict. But what the hell is a conflict on a clean, newly installed system?

    Hello, hello! Typically, credentials Apple records ID and iCloud on iOS devices change very rarely - register, enter once and that’s it. Although, even if a change is required, this is done very easily () and, usually, no problems arise. But it's in our hands Apple technology! This means that sometimes unusual cases can happen... I’ll tell you about one of these now.

    So, they asked me to free the device from accounts. No problem! The login and password are known - you log in and leave. The procedure takes a couple of minutes. But when I opened the settings, I saw the whole essence of the task - the iCloud menu on this iPhone was not active (icon and inscription are highlighted gray) and it was impossible to click on it. What a surprise! :)

    I even took a screenshot - I knew it would be useful.

    Well, I think there is some kind of blocking - you must first sign out of your Apple ID. I open it iTunes settings Store and App Store, and there everything is the same - the account name is there, but it is written in gray and simply cannot be clicked. This is some kind of nonsense, what kind of eternal linking to an account is this??? Why can't I change my account?

    The first impulse was to “cut it off” and - the device was intended for sale anyway, so why not reset it? But then it became interesting (and the topic for the article turned out to be quite good) and I decided to look into it.

    And here's how to make the iCloud and Apple ID menu active again.

    For devices running iOS 11 and lower

    It's very simple:

    We return to the main menu and... Hurray! Gray disappeared and the icons became colored :)

    For devices running iOS 12

    Apple doesn't sit still and constantly changes the settings menu. Thank you very much to her - she doesn’t let you get bored.

    In iOS 12, “Restrictions” was removed from the main menu. Removed completely? Nothing like that - they just moved it to another place.

    So, if your device is running iOS control 12 account information cannot be changed iCloud recordings and Apple ID (or log out of them), then you need to do this:

    As you can see, everything is very simple and fast - the only possible problem that can happen is not knowing the password for the restrictions menu. In this case, you will have to do something drastic - connect to iTunes and restore the software. But this, so to speak, is for the most extreme case... I hope that it will not happen. Updated! There is a simpler way - .
