• The most important criteria when choosing a washing machine. Washing machine modes - understanding the variety

    Not many people know that when choosing washing machine before buying, you need to pay attention not only to its capacity, power and energy consumption class, but also to the list of modes available for use. Good machine washing modes washing machine has a wide range, so it can be used in many situations - both when washing delicate items, and when washing other products. So, what is intensive washing in a washing machine, what other modes are there in modern models, and how do the washing modes differ? Now you will find out the answers to these questions, as well as study the washing modes.

    Basic rules for washing in a washing machine

    Daily washing cannot be correct and effective, not only if you choose the wrong mode, but also if you do not know the main rules of washing. Following these rules will allow you to wash more efficiently and quickly:

    • A quick wash should not be accompanied by an overload of the washing machine drum. Washing on a full drum will sooner or later lead to a breakdown of the unit or a deterioration in the quality of the wash itself.
    • Only use detergents designed for automatic machine washing.
    • Sort items by type of fabric and color before washing, and then decide which wash cycle to choose.
    • Washing powder should be placed in a special compartment, and liquid detergents should be poured into the drum itself.
    • Check the pockets of your clothes every time before putting on the most fast mode washing.

    Important! These rules must be known by heart and followed every time the wash begins.

    Now we need to figure out how to choose the washing mode in the washing machine from all the variety available in modern units.

    The main modes of automatic washing in the washing machine

    Numerous washing modes are known in a washing machine, which may differ slightly or be completely different and not interchangeable. Below are the most common modes:

    • Daily laundry. What it is? In fact, everything is simple - this is a washing mode with an incomplete drum load. This quick wash mode provides for the use of water with a temperature of up to 30 degrees, while the washing time takes up to 40-50 minutes. Good for washing work items.
    • Cotton. From the name it becomes clear that this is a mode used for washing cotton and linen products. Allowed maximum speed spin and high water temperature up to 95 degrees.
    • Synthetics. Washing mode without spin or with it, designed for washing synthetic products. The maximum water temperature can reach 60 degrees, the spin speed is up to 1000 rpm.
    • Handwash. The hand wash mode in the washing machine must be mandatory. This is one of the most delicate cycles (similar to the wool cycle), allowing for a low spin and low temperature.
    • Care wash. This mode is used for washing delicate synthetics, as well as microfiber products. The maximum water temperature is 40 degrees, the spin speed is not more than 700 rpm.
    • Preliminary. This wash cycle is used before washing very dirty items. Before using the prewash, it is also recommended to soak the items in soapy water.
    • Economic wash. This mode involves a longer wash. By increasing the time and reducing the intensity of washing, savings in electricity and water used are achieved.
    • Wool. This is almost the same as hand washing, but it is intended only for wool. In this mode, you can wash at temperatures up to 40 degrees, you can set the spin cycle to 400 rpm.
    • Intensive wash. The intensive wash time is very short, as is the energy consumption during the procedure. What does intensive washing mean? It's washing at enough high temperature water, which can reach 95 degrees. An intensive wash is a guaranteed death for delicate items, but for durable cotton, linen, jeans and other durable fabrics, this is a real lifesaver. In addition, the intensive wash cycle is more economical than the similar daily wash cycle.

    Thus, it is possible to conditionally divide all washing options (modes, spin temperatures) into 4 categories:

    • Washing wool products - temperature up to 40 degrees, minimum spin speed.
    • Washing delicate fabrics - temperature up to 40 degrees, medium speed during the spin cycle.
    • Washing of synthetic things - temperature up to 60 degrees, average speed during the spin cycle.
    • Washing of cotton and linen - temperature up to 95 degrees, the maximum degree of extraction.

    The other numerous modes are just variations on these four main categories. It is also worth noting the existence of modes that allow you to prevent creasing things during washing.

    Additional features of modern washing machines

    We have already figured out what it means to hand wash in a washing machine, and what is an intensive wash. This is not all that you may encounter when using modern devices. There are others useful features:

    • Delay activation. A very handy feature that allows you to set the machine the time at which it should start washing. For example, you can put the wash a couple of hours before coming home from work, and when you return, things will already be washed - it remains to get them out of the drum and hang them to dry.
    • Half load. If you need a quick wash in the washing machine, but there is not enough laundry, you can turn on this function to increase the washing efficiency and not harm the machine.
    • Water control. Thanks to this function, the washing machine calculates how much water is needed to effectively wet things, and does not pump in excess - saving energy on heating water.
    • Spin balancing. As you know, spinning is a large dynamic load. The balancing function allows you to reduce the level of vibration and noise during the spin cycle. This function works quite simply - at first the drum spins slowly until things lie on its surface evenly, and after that the main spin phase begins at high speed.
    • Water transparency control. This function may slightly increase the washing time in the washing machine, but dramatically increase the economy and washing efficiency. A special sensor literally shines through the water, and if after rinsing the transparency is below normal, the procedure is repeated again. This improves rinsing and makes things cleaner after washing.
    • Spin adjustment. Modern washing machines are able to independently set the appropriate spin speed based on the selected mode and drum loading parameters.
    • Timer. The machine with a timer shows the user the time until the end of the washing process.
    • Troubleshooting. If at normal mode washing and temperature something is not working properly, the machine performs self-diagnosis and displays an error code on the screen - allows you to find out the cause of the failure.

    And even this is not all the features that are available in modern washing machines. They have long ceased to be just washing devices - now they wring out perfectly and even dry washed items. Less and less responsibilities are assigned to the hostesses - it is enough to put things in and turn on the necessary mode.

    How to choose the right washing mode in the machine?

    So, we already know what intensive washing means and learned about the additional functions of the washing machine. How to choose the right mode? Naturally, first of all, you need to choose a washing program based on the material of your products. Everything is clear here - usually within each mode, the duration of the wash and the water temperature are set automatically. The number of turns for different fabrics varies:

    • Cotton and linen fabrics - up to 1400 rpm.
    • Silk products - 400 rpm.
    • Synthetics - 600 rpm.
    • Jeans and woolen items - 800 rpm.

    In modern washing machines, when choosing a mode, it is automatically set desired mode spin. It can also be changed if necessary, for example, if you are sure that your item will be able to withstand more than specified by the manufacturer. Nevertheless, it is recommended to set the parameters of automatic washing, which are written on the label from the manufacturer. In this case, washing things will pass without problems.

    You will no longer have a question about what is intensive washing in a washing machine, as well as other questions about washing modes and programs. Feel free to use different types fabrics various programs- do not use the same mode for everything if you do not want to spoil your things.

    “The hour has finally come…” and you decide to buy a new washing machine. High quality, reliable, comfortable. How to choose it? A hard-working smart girl who herself washes all the laundry, rinses, and even dries?

    In this article, we will not tell you which brand of washing machine is better. It is rather a matter of personal preference and financial possibilities.

    But what functions have modern washing units - we will share. So that you go to the store savvy and know exactly what parameters of the “washer” you definitely need to pay attention to.

    Types of washing machines

    There are two cardinal points that you must take into account when choosing. This is a washing class and an energy class. It depends on them how efficient and economical the use of the washing machine will be.

    Wash class denoted with Latin letters(A, B…). The farther the letter is from the beginning of the alphabet, the worse your “washer” will wash.

    Energy class denoted in the same way. The most economical units are marked with the letter "A" or "A +". Plus is an addition to the main score and means a slightly higher level.

    And one more small but important advice. If you are going to buy a new washing machine and build it into a kitchen set, choose a model that does not beautiful design(you will not need it), but by the presence of special fasteners. On which you will “plant” the panels of the kitchen cabinet or cabinet.

    The second thing to pay attention to when choosing is the way the laundry is loaded into the drum.

    Front and vertical way downloads . The frontal model is equipped with a “porthole” door on the front panel of the case. The vertical model has such a door (only not transparent) on top. With a limited area of \u200b\u200bthe room, the second option is more convenient.

    And one more thing: by pausing a running vertical machine, you can open it without fear of flooding your neighbors. For what? To report forgotten linen into it, or vice versa, pull out a thing that accidentally fell into the loaded batch (colored to white, for example).

    And now, let's go directly to the performance of washing devices.

    Washing machine functions - download

    . Determines the power of the unit and the amount of laundry (in kilograms) that can be washed at a time. Please note that the larger the load, the greater the consumption of electricity and the consumption of detergents.

    . A very convenient mode, which is equipped with many popular washing machines. It allows you to wash even one thing with high quality, while rebuilding the operation of the unit for less energy, powder and water consumption.

    Functions of washing machines - set the mode

    What is the convenience of using a washing machine equipped with automatic mode settings? The fact that all the operating parameters of washing can be programmed with two or three presses of the desired buttons.

    At electronic-mechanical setting, the main parameters are entered manually, and the electronics adjusts them already additional functions. Electronic control allows you to set the mode by pressing one or two buttons. Touch control dispenses with no buttons at all - it will be enough for you to touch your finger to desired image on display.

    Functions of washing machines - washing, spinning

    So, what functions are supplied with modern "washers"?

    Washing mode regulator . With one turn or press, it “tells” the washing machine what is required of it. Depending on the selected mode, the machine itself adjusts desired parameters: water temperature, spin speed, wash duration, etc.

    Quick wash . The mode is great for express washing not very dirty laundry. Unlike the standard wash cycle, the quick cycle lasts only 30 minutes.

    Bio-enzymatic phase . This option allows you to use special means, which wash almost any stains even at a relatively low temperature. The only negative is that a machine with such a function is much more expensive than other washing units. Yes, and funds with enzyme supplements will also have to fork out additionally.

    Leak protection . It will protect you and your neighbors from flooding in case of hose failure. You can remove excess water from the washing machine through the emergency drain system.

    Extra rinse . A very handy feature if the laundry needs more thorough rinsing. Allows you to remove even the slightest residue of detergent from the laundry. It will not be superfluous if there are small children or allergy sufferers in the house.

    Spinning speed . The parameter affects the level of residual moisture in the washed laundry. The more revolutions, the drier your things will be. The most popular washing machines are limited to a maximum of 1000 rpm. It is optimal in terms of the ratio of spin quality / energy consumption.

    Cancel spin . The mode allows you to do without spinning at all. Useful when washing delicate items or items that are recommended to be wrung out by hand.

    Drying . If you are lucky enough to buy a new washing machine with this feature, you will save time on drying clothes. After the end of the full washing cycle, your clothes will be not only clean, but also completely dried and ready to immediately go under the iron. True, while only premium-class “washers” have such a regime.

    Child protection . The function locks the control panel, preventing the child from independently turning on the machine or interfering with its operation. Agree, a good precaution if there are curious kids in the house :)

    Here, perhaps, are all the main modes that will make using the washing machine comfortable and efficient. You can deal with all the other, secondary functions, already on the spot, in the store.

    It is impossible to imagine a modern city house without an automatic washing machine. There are many models on the market, varying in price and technical specifications. After choosing several options, you should consider the classes (modes) of washing, energy consumption and spinning of suitable machines, since these parameters are much more important than most buyers think.

    What is a washing class

    The class of washing efficiency is usually called the value characterizing the cleanliness of the washed laundry. Classes are denoted in Latin letters from A to G. The most high class supplemented with the designations A +, A ++ and A +++, as the new washing machines are more advanced.

    To determine the washing class specific model, a piece of cotton fabric is soiled in a certain way and washed at a temperature of 60 ° C for an hour according to one of the basic programs. The washed fabric is then compared with a reference sample. Comparison of purity indicators (whiteness and other properties) is carried out using special optical devices, giving the result (washing efficiency factor) in digital form.

    Table 1 shows the correspondence between the obtained coefficient and the washing class of the machine:

    In fact, this indicator can hardly be called objective, since it is almost impossible to create identical testing conditions, and the cost of a washing machine directly depends on the value of this coefficient.

    It is almost impossible to catch the difference in the quality of washing classes A +++ and A (sometimes B) with the naked eye. It is enough to take detergent good quality, and the difference will become generally imperceptible, it makes no sense to overpay for a prestigious badge in the product passport. However, when buying, it is still better to choose a car of a higher class, all other things being equal.

    Energy and efficiency classes

    The energy efficiency class of the washing machine depends on the amount of electricity that the appliance consumes in basic mode to wash 1 kg of cotton laundry for 1 hour at 60°C. The lower this indicator, the higher the class of the washing machine in terms of energy consumption.
    Until 2010, the following gradation of energy consumption classes for automatic washing machines was adopted (Table 2):

    After 2010, the energy class was replaced by new feature– energy efficiency class. This indicator depends on the Energy Efficiency Index (EEI). To assign a value to the new model, average figures for electricity consumption per year are used. Take into account washing modes at different temperatures and partial loads. When calculating, it is assumed that the machine goes through 220 complete cycles per year. The standard consumption (100%) of electricity for a full cycle (with a load of 6 kg of dry linen made of cotton fiber) is 1.52 kWh, that is, 334 kWh per year.

    The energy efficiency index is the percentage of the actual electricity consumption of a particular model to the standard one. The higher the aggregate class, the lower the index value. In order to find out how much electricity a particular washing machine consumes per year, it is enough to multiply the reference consumption (334 kWh) by the index corresponding to the energy consumption model class and divide by 100.

    Energy efficiency index values for different classes washing machines (table 3):

    What does the term "spin class" mean?

    The spin class of the washing machine depends on the amount of moisture in the laundry that has gone through a complete wash cycle with a spin cycle. The lower this figure, the higher the class. To calculate this coefficient, the mass of dry laundry is subtracted from the mass of wet laundry after spinning, then the result is divided by the mass of dry laundry and multiplied by 100%.

    The values of the laundry moisture index after washing (in %) and the drum rotation speed (rpm) corresponding to the spin classes (table 4):

    Spin efficiency is related to energy consumption: the higher the spin speed, the greater the energy consumption. High-speed spin (class A) is needed mainly when washing things made of dense fabrics, for example, denim ( denim). Significant mechanical impact on the fabric adversely affects the service life of things and their appearance: creases appear that are difficult to straighten even with an iron or ironing press. It is not necessary to choose a machine with an A spin class, B or C is enough.

    Washing modes in the washing machine

    Producers create washing machines With different sets basic and advanced modes. At the same time, they use both generally accepted names and designations, as well as original ones that are unique to this brand. Therefore, it is better to study the meaning of pictograms and inscriptions according to the passport for a specific model.

    There is a set of basic modes that (with minimal differences) all automatic machines have.

    The main modes of operation of the washing machine:

    • washing things made of natural materials: linen or cotton (from +90 to +95 ° C), - a full cycle, which is used for heavily soiled linen white color, spin at maximum speed;
    • washing things made of synthetic materials - gentle mode (+ 60 ° C), spinning at maximum speed;
    • washing wool and silk (+40°C) - gentle mode, in which the drum does not rotate, but only sways from side to side, without spinning, the treatment cycle ends with draining the water;
    • delicate washing of things from thin and delicate fabrics: underwear, lace and embroidered items that require careful handling. Gentle mode, no spin (+30°C).

    All modes can be adjusted using the buttons on the control panel, adding or deactivating individual functions.

    Additional washing modes

    In addition to the main ones, automatic washing machines have additional modes washing, which differ in the amount and temperature of water, the length of time of some phases of washing, the speed of rotation of the drum during the spin cycle.

    On machines with electronic control, modes are switched using rotary knobs, and functions can be selected by pressing buttons. If the control is touch, then there can be both recessed buttons and activated by a light touch of the fingers, data on the operation of the machine are displayed.

    On machines with mechanical control, the program is selected using the rotary knob and buttons on the control panel. Such a machine, unlike a similar one with electronic control, can be stopped at any time in the cycle and switched to another program.

    Mechanical models are more likely to fail due to a large number of moving parts, while electronic ones are damaged as a result of voltage surges.

    Common additional washing modes:

    • "prewash" (soaking) - the program is suitable for very dirty clothes that are initially in a cold solution detergent a few hours, then the main wash begins. In this mode, two portions must be poured into the powder container, using both compartments;
    • "Intensive wash" - used when stains need to be removed. Water is gradually heated to +60ºС, and after the initial treatment of stains, the temperature reaches +90°C;
    • "quick wash" - this program is used for everyday care of things. The cycle is completed in 15–30 minutes at a water temperature of 30–40°C. Washing parameters depend on the brand of the machine. If you need to quickly wash things without strong pollution, this mode is the best;
    • Economy mode - provides washing of cotton and linen at a low temperature, with low consumption of water and electricity. Due to the increase in processing time, the quality of washing does not suffer;
    • "half load" - this mode is very convenient in cases where things need to be washed urgently, and on full load they are few. The washing time will be reduced, so the consumption of water, electricity and detergent will be reduced;
    • “Easy ironing” - when washing in this mode, the laundry is constantly straightened and does not wrinkle due to the slow rotation of the drum with the intermediate spin function turned off. The final spin takes place at a reduced speed. Things after such processing are easy to iron.

    Automatic washing machines are equipped with a set of useful features that make the washing process even more convenient:

    • "delayed start" - allows you to program the start of washing in the selected mode within 24 hours, which is convenient for busy people;
    • "extra rinse" - very useful option if it is necessary to thoroughly remove detergent residues from children's, underwear and bed linen;
    • “a lot of water” - when washing and rinsing in an increased amount of water, it is easier to completely get rid of the smell and residues of washing powder;
    • “Rinse delay” - if it is not possible to immediately remove the laundry at the end of the washing cycle, it is better to leave it in water so that creases and unnecessary wrinkles do not appear. IN convenient time start the drain and spin functions, after which clean things are taken out of the drum;
    • "Night wash" - this function makes the process almost silent, as it completely eliminates spinning. In the morning, you can complete the wash by sequentially turning on the “drain” and “spin” modes.

    Security Modes

    When designing modern automatic machines, manufacturers pay great attention to safety. IN various models The following blockings can be provided:

    • leakage protection. With this function, the water supply is automatically stopped if there is a danger of leakage, sometimes complete shutdown device, it depends on the model;
    • foam suppression system. Excess foam may cause leakage. With the help of a special sensor that determines the amount of foam during draining and squeezing, suction is turned on, excess foam is removed and the cycle continues;
    • balancing control. With a significant imbalance, the machine begins to vibrate strongly, the sensor turns on a special shaking mode, in which the laundry is evenly distributed over the drum due to slow reverse rotation (alternately, clockwise and in the opposite direction). This function protects the machine from mechanical damage;
    • child protection. Reliable locking of the door so that the baby could not open the hatch in any way, either during operation or in standby mode.

    P.S. It often happens that happy owner machines with the maximum set of various interesting modes do not find time to figure them out and use only a few. So is it worth buying an expensive model, because the more washing modes, the higher the price and the risk of spoiling complex equipment? It is better to look at reliable and high-quality units that have a high energy efficiency class, without too complex programs that may not be needed.

    Are you going to the store for a new washing machine? Want to know how to choose perfect option and at the same time not to fly into a pretty penny? Then pay attention to the functions of this household appliance. Are you sure that they are all really as useful as manufacturers say about them? If yes, then you are seriously mistaken: more than 25% of all the “super-useful” functions of washing machines, for which the buyer has to pay a tidy sum, in fact, turn out to be absolutely unnecessary. Want to save money and still choose a quality model? Then refuse to overpay for an unnecessary upgrade.

    5 Useless Washing Machine Features

    silver wash

    In theory, thanks to such a “useful” washing parameter, the water in the washing machine is saturated with silver ions, which have an antibacterial effect. The idea, in principle, is not bad, but for real “saturation” it will take, well, certainly not 15 minutes and not 1 hour, which is required for washing. In this case, a fleeting contact of water with silver plates is unlikely to lead to its ionization. The question is, why pay more?

    Stainless steel tank

    What is the warranty period for the washing machine? On the strength of 15 years. They will pass quickly, the parts will be worn out and become unusable, but the stainless steel tank will remain as good as new. Everything is great, but is there any point in overpaying for it in this case?

    Fancy control panels

    "Ideal" drum surface

    Sellers will never forget to increase the price for the presence of a dozen special holes and meshes in the drum, which allegedly provide the “delicate” washing of clothes. Is it so? I would like to believe. But why do manufacturers recommend washing nylon items in special laundry bags, and not in an “ideal” drum? Dilemma.

    High spin speed

    “This washing machine has 2000 rpm! Is it too expensive? But it's the same high speed spin! Why do you need 1200 rpm? Do you want your laundry to be wet after washing? So say the sellers in the stores, and naive buyers unquestioningly take their word for it, laying out their hard-earned money for an expensive upgrade. But in vain! 1200-1400 rpm is enough for a good washing machine. As practice shows, the spin speed does not affect the quality of drying clothes after machine washing.

    There are also useful features worth paying for.

    However, you should not think that washing machines, in addition to their natural function (machine washing clothes), have no useful properties. Still as it is. One has only to look at the official website of AEG washing machines (http://aeg-ru.ru/stiralnie_mashini_aeg/) and see for yourself. In particular, AEG washing machines are characterized by such really useful features and characteristics, such as:

    • economy class A: really helps to save money on electricity costs;
    • accelerated washing: a great opportunity for those who like to be in time everywhere and everywhere;
    • steam supply: a complete replacement for ironing;
    • delayed start: great functionality that will appeal to those who are used to washing at night;
    • auto-weighing: the function will not only save the washing machine from overload, but also help save on payment utilities, So
    • how to choose best option water and electricity consumption;
    • child protection: smart function which will help ensure washing machine from breakdowns, and your children from possible injuries.

    Useful functions and modes of washing machines: what's what

    Of course, when choosing a washing machine, the first thing you should pay attention to is its main characteristics. About what is, we already in the most detailed way described in the relevant article. In the same place, in a separate section, it was mentioned about the standard noise level for modern devices.

    The second thing you should pay attention to when is, of course, the programs and functions that it has. How often do we buy a device with 24 modes, most of which turn out to be useless in practice. But now you will know which programs will come in handy, and which ones will simply put an extra burden on your wallet (after all, do not forget, each redundant function- this is plus a few hundred rubles to the price of the device).

    Main programs

    By selecting one of the programs on the electronic control panel of the washing machine, you can set the number of revolutions per minute, the number of rinses and the desired washing temperature. At the same time, the device makes sure that the settings correspond to the optimal ones for the type of fabric that you have chosen, and in case of a significant error (which can lead to insufficient washing quality or mechanical damage to the laundry), it makes the necessary adjustments.

    In modern washing machines, only three or four basic programs, the same for all models and designed for specific types of fabric, as well as several optional, additional modes that differ depending on the manufacturer, price and dimensions of the product. The four main programs may have different names, but the principle is the same:

    • washing of woolen products at water temperature up to 40 °С;
    • washing linen from delicate, thin fabrics at temperatures up to 40 ° C;
    • washing of color and synthetic products, temperature - up to 60 °C;
    • washing things made of cotton and linen, the recommended temperature is up to 95 ° C.

    Owners of expensive, advanced models with a choice of modes, as a rule, can “not bother” at all. For example, washing machines have intelligent 6th sense technology and are equipped with sensors that record the weight of the loaded laundry. It is enough for the owner of such a device to select the type of fabric, and the display will show information about the washing temperature set in the machine for these conditions, the drum speed and the estimated time that the laundry cleaning process will require.

    The electronic control panel of the washing machine (pay attention to temperature conditions and rpm values)

    But in order to achieve effective, high-quality and economical washing of clothes in most devices from the budget and mid-price range, some knowledge is still required from you. We talked about the numerous subtleties in the article, but you can read about what modes are intended for what, right now.

    Additional programs

    It is they that allow the user to choose the type of washing that is optimal for his conditions, clean laundry from special fabrics or fabrics with special care requirements, prevent jamming, wash extremely soiled items, or, on the contrary, just refresh fairly clean clothes. It is the additional modes that allow zealous housewives to minimize the cost of detergents. However, each new feature, of course, also increases the price of the washing machine, so the stick, as always, is double-edged and you need to choose a device based only on the presence of the most necessary programs in it, not paying attention to their total number.

    What programs are usually helpful? Well, it's simple.

    "Prewash"- Needed for especially dirty laundry. Before the washing process itself, your clothes will be kept in a washing solution for about two hours at a temperature of 30 ° C. This will help the dirt to separate more easily, and then it will not be necessary to exert a strong mechanical force on the fabric, which can damage it.

    "Intensive wash"- on the contrary, it allows you to remove old stains (for example, from fruit or wine) rather quickly, without extra costs by time. To do this, the laundry is washed at an elevated temperature and a higher speed of rotation of the drum. You can use bleach or stain removers. Of course, things do not like this treatment.

    "Quick wash"- despite the similar name with the previous program, it is responsible for washing not very dirty laundry. It is mainly used to refresh, rinse clothes. Save up to 40% of time - and this is the only thing that may be required this mode. There are no other advantages, and energy consumption, in terms of the quality of washing, turns out to be quite significant.

    "Handwash"- used for gentle and gentle cleansing of the fabric. The machine washes even more gently than it can be done by hand: the drum only wobbles slightly and makes long pauses between revolutions, exerting minimal mechanical impact on your laundry. This same mode is sometimes called the Delicates programme.

    Icons on the washing machine: anti-crease, extra rinse and quick wash

    "Daily Laundry"- Designed to freshen up clothes after a long day at work. The drum is loaded about half, and things are washed for no more than 40 minutes at a temperature of 30 ° C. The mode is very similar to "quick wash", often it is the same button on the device.

    "Eco Wash"- performed at a low temperature and a low speed of rotation of the drum. Due to this, the washing time is increased, but electricity, water and detergents are saved.

    "Extra Rinse"- a program that includes a second rinse cycle that allows you to freshen up the laundry and wash out the detergent residues from it.

    "Multiple rinse"- 3-, 4- or 5-fold rinse mode, after which even minimal traces of washing powder remain on clean linen.

    "More Water"- a program intended mainly for heavily soiled and delicate laundry. It also allows you to remove powder residue and rinse things thoroughly. In the "extended" version is called "Washing in in large numbers water” (of course, on the machine itself, the mode can be named differently or left without a name at all; it can be indicated by a simple icon depicting splashing liquid).

    "Ecowash" or "Bioenzyme Phase"- designed for laundry with a significant level of contamination. In this case, modern biological-type detergents containing enzymes (protein molecules, bioenzymes - see) are used. Microorganisms "eat" dirt, due to which your clothes are well cleaned even at washing temperatures of 35-50 ° C. The fabric does not deteriorate either from the huge heat inside the tank, or from too active rotation of the drum. However, such detergents can also be used in a conventional washing machine that does not have a “bioenzyme phase” - you just need not set the temperature above 50 ° C (if it is hotter inside the tank, the enzymes will simply die). So the usefulness of the “ecowash” mode in the device is in great doubt and you can not pay special attention to its presence (or absence).

    But, if you want to use washing powders with these bioadditives, you should know about the types of enzymes. This can be useful for efficient washing of laundry with organic soils: sweat, grease, vegetable stains, coffee stains, sauce stains or blood stains. In order to choose the right detergent, it should be understood that:

    • breaks down protein impurities protease;
    • breaks down carbohydrate impurities amylase;
    • breaks down fats lipase;
    • prevents the formation of pellets cellulase.

    Not all powders contain all these types of enzymes, so read the information on the package carefully before buying such a product.

    Mode switch on the washing machine

    "Washing Wool" or "Soft wool"- a program that allows you to wash wool products with the highest quality and efficiency, without damaging the delicate structure of the fabric. The drum rotates smoothly at a low speed (36-80 rpm), the temperature and amount of water that are optimal for wool are set. If this program is present in the washing machine, then you don’t have to worry about the fact that the woolen products will sit down or fade.

    "Crush Protection" or "Easy ironing"- this is a spin mode in which the drum rotates at a very low speed - only about 30 rpm, with long pauses between revolutions. This ensures that there are no wrinkles in the laundry and makes it easier for you to iron things after washing.

    Additional functions

    "Bubble Wash". It is found only in special washing machines that are equipped with an air bubble generator. These bubbles easily pass through the layers of fabric and gradually eliminate impurities. At the same time, the drum does not rotate, so the laundry practically does not wear out during the washing process. However, there are also downsides. Firstly, the quality of such washing is not too high, and you cannot clean especially difficult dirt in this way. Secondly, machines with a bubble wash function, as a rule, need to be connected to both cold and hot water at the same time, because they themselves are not capable of heating water. Thirdly, returning to a topic that has already been touched upon in, for similar devices be sure to buy a filter that softens the water, because hard water foams rather weakly and bubbles will be generated less than necessary.

    "Imbalance Control System" or "Balance control system" determines the uniformity of the distribution of the weight of the laundry in the drum and, in case of a discrepancy, tries to eliminate this imbalance: the motor starts reverse rotation. If the optimal state of affairs inside the device cannot be achieved, the engine starts again in normal mode, but at a reduced speed. This system- also one of the mandatory in the devices latest generation. If the user is not accustomed to correctly load the laundry into the drum, then thanks to it, the vibration and noise level of the washing machine can be reduced, less wear on bearings, drive belts and other internal components of the appliance can be achieved.

    "Drying". A special function responsible for drying clothes after washing. The internal heating element of the machine generates heat, and the built-in fan creates a stream of warm air that “penetrates” the fabric and removes moisture particles from it. Each type of laundry has its own drying level.

    "Start Timer" or "Turn on delay". Present in all washing machines, except for the oldest or the cheapest. Convenient feature, thanks to which you can set the appliance to wash at night or during your absence. Max Time delay is from 3 to 24 hours, depending on the specific model.

    "Drainage" is a system for removing the washing solution from the device without the need to rotate the drum. Saves machine resource.

    "Self-cleaning pump"- a feature that is also present in almost all modern washing machines. If it is available, it means that the user is no longer required to check every few months whether the filter is clogged. And given the fact that many Russians do not bother themselves with such an occupation at all, given function also allows you to increase the life of the device.

    "Foam control system". It is necessary for the machine to be able to rinse clothes efficiently, using as little water, electricity and detergent as possible. This can be achieved by washing out as much laundry detergent as possible from the spaces between the fabric. As in the case of hand washing, for this, the laundry must be wrung out between rinses. However, during the spinning process, foam is formed, which envelops the fabric and impairs the rinsing result. So, in devices with a foam control function, there is a special sensor that controls the amount of foam formed. If it exceeds allowable rate, the pump of the machine pumps out excess foam from the drum, thereby increasing the quality of the rinse - however, spending a certain amount of electricity on this.
