Anyone who works at a computer for a fairly large amount of time often uses the clipboard, this is the so-called storage of copied or cut files or texts. But the problem is that only one unit is placed in the so-called storage, that is, either one copied or cut file, or one specific text. In this article I want to show a way to solve this problem and save your precious time.

A program called Clipdiary. This program is free for non-commercial use and this is a big plus for us ordinary users. In principle, the program is very convenient and its main function, as you understand, is the extended clipboard, which allows us to find and paste even those files that we copied a week ago.
So, first, let’s download the program from the developer’s official website. Follow the link http://clipdiary.com/rus/. On the page that opens, we are offered to download two versions of the program, one is a regular installation version, and the other is portable, which will work from any portable device without installation. I download the installation by clicking on the download button.

Run the downloaded file and go through the installation process.

After the installation process has completed, check the box Run Clipdiary to open the program and click Finish.

Our program has opened and now it will always be in the tray (lower right corner) working in the background.

Let's take a look at some of the program's settings. To do this, click file ->settings or just a key F4.

I would like to draw your attention to the hot keys tab. Here we can set hotkeys for the main actions of the program.

1) Open the clip selection dialog: that is, opening the clipboard window where our history is stored, from where we can select and paste text or a file that we copied or cut even a few days ago.

2) Quickly copy the previous clip to the clipboard: that is, paste the clip (file or text) that we copied before copying the one that is currently in the buffer.

3) Quickly copy the following clip to your clipboard: that is, insert a clip that comes after the previous clip we copied.

In the tab database you can set the number of clips (files, texts) that you will need to insert for further work.

As shown in the picture below, the program has trial period because the program is not activated, in my case it is 23 days. As I said earlier, we can activate the program because it is free for non-commercial use.

To do this, go to the tab help and click on the item activate for free.

In the browser window that opens, click the button receive key.

Afterwards the key will appear free license, which must be copied and pasted into the program registration window that opens and click register.

In the window that appears, click OK and wait for the program to restart.

And as you can see in the picture below, the trial period has disappeared, the program is activated.

Clipboard is one of the most used tools operating system. We are so accustomed to the standard commands Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V that we perform copying and pasting operations “automatically”. These simple steps can save you a lot of time. And if we improve the usual buffer capabilities Windows Exchange with the help special applications, you can further improve your work efficiency. Standard clipboard in MS Office and Visual studio has several important disadvantages. Firstly, the number of memorized fragments is limited. Ditto has another serious advantage over standard means to work with the clipboard. If the program is installed on two or more computers, the contents of the clipboard can be synchronized between working machines. When transmitting data over the network, the information is encrypted, so you don’t have to worry about the safety of the data.

Despite the fact that the number of stored fragments is not limited, in some cases storing a huge number of objects in a buffer is not at all necessary. Therefore, Ditto allows you to set a limit on the number of objects you can save (the default is 500), and you can also set a maximum storage period for them (for example, erase them after five days).

To paste data previously entered into the clipboard, use a special window, which is called up by pressing CTRL+~ or by clicking on the program icon in the tray. It displays the most recently placed objects on the clipboard, and also works instant search according to the database. For graphic objects a thumbnail is created, and formatting elements can be shown for RTF fragments.

Although Ditto's main function is to work with the clipboard, the program can also be used simply as a tool for quickly inserting templates. Templates can be created in the built-in text editor. If you want the application to work only with a certain number of fragments and not be replenished with new ones, you can simply disable clipboard tracking. The template database can be saved and later imported into Ditto.

Among the advantages of ArsClip is operation without the need for installation (portable mode), as well as constant updates. The program offers two storage spaces for text fragments. The first contains the latest clips copied to the clipboard (by default there are 15, but the number can be changed). When you press CTRL+Shift+Z, saved items appear as a context menu. A separate submenu stores those fragments that the user accesses most often.

When the number of clips copied to the clipboard exceeds the maximum allowed, they are moved to another storage location. In essence, it resembles the Recycle Bin - the fragments are no longer at hand, but they are still not deleted. The maximum number of items in the second store can also be controlled.

ArsClip can also be used to insert frequently used text fragments. For this purpose, the program implements the function of saving permanent clips. Such fragments are invariably included in the quick insert list. In addition, each of them can be assigned its own hotkey.

ArsClip can insert text in different ways. For example, text fragments can be cleared of unnecessary formatting; fragments can be copied to the clipboard, but not pasted. In addition, keystrokes can be emulated when inserting. Paste options can be configured on a per-application basis.

It is also worth paying attention to the fact that the quick insert list works in simplified mode by default. If you switch to advanced mode, some interesting functions become available. For example, it becomes possible to insert all the text that is saved in ArsClip with one click or select several fragments for insertion. In addition, you can use the form filling mode. After filling out each field, it will automatically move to the next field.

ArsClip works with both text and graphic elements, although you can disable image support in the settings if you wish. In addition, it is possible to limit saving graphic files by size. The program also has convenient commands for quick removal fragments from the database. You can delete only text elements, only graphic elements, all those placed in the quick insert list, etc.

Clipboard Magic remembers text fragments entered into the clipboard and compiles a list of such clips in the form of a table. Any of the previously used clips can be used again and again. To make the list of text fragments previously placed on the clipboard more visual, the user can set his own background color for a particular line in the list of clips.

Clips in the list can be sorted alphabetically, moved up and down, edited directly in the program window, search and replace characters. In addition, it is possible to import text files into the program and saving their contents as clips.

To ensure that the program cache does not contain repetitions, the program can use the command to remove duplicate lists. Lists can be saved as separate files and quickly switch between different sets of clips. When you restart the program, the list is saved automatically, so if after opening Clipboard Magic you see empty lines, you just need to select the previously saved list and continue working with it.

The program does not have any quick insert menu, but you can place the Clipboard Magic window on top of all windows. Quick insertion is carried out by pressing CTRL+Shift+number from 0 to 9. The key combination can be changed, however, in any case, this method of insertion is not very convenient if you need to paste the same fragment several times, since each time you have to completely release the hotkeys . For example, to insert three times in a standard way fragment of text from the Windows clipboard, you must press and hold the Ctrl key, and then press the “V” key three times. In the case of Clipboard Magic, to insert multiple times you need to release and press “Ctrl” and “Shift” again, which is not very convenient.

The keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+C/V/X significantly speed up working with text, images and other content; they are usually used more often than other keyboard shortcuts. The clipboard, in which all intermediate information is stored, can be provided by both the operating system and individual applications.

However, the system capabilities of the clipboard are still far from perfect. It is enough to list a few complaints. Firstly, you cannot “look” into the storage; to do this, you at least need to paste the copied fragment into the document. The second key point is that it is impossible to copy several fragments sequentially for selective pasting. This limitation deprives the user of the ability to select, including several types of data.

It’s easy to add other wishes to the list, but you can use the reverse method and get acquainted with existing modifications during this review. It includes programs that complement the clipboard: they keep a history (monitoring function) and provide the ability to selectively paste saved data. In English, this function is called multiclipboard; in Russian, the closest analogue is multiclipboard.

Close attention will be paid to aspects such as support for multiple clipboards, correct work with formats, available operations with saved buffer contents, as well as support for hotkeys.

Free Clipboard Viewer

At first glance, the program has nothing to do with clipboard managers. In fact, Free Clipboard Viewer belongs to this category conditionally. As the name suggests, this is a clipboard viewer that allows you to quickly find out necessary information about a piece of data stored in memory. Free Clipboard Viewer does not keep a clipboard history, but in terms of information, this program has no equal in the review.

A program for monitoring, converting data and auto-filling fields from the clipboard.

The main window of the program is a two-level list in which clipboard clips are stored. In principle, such a storage system is quite convenient. The user can create any number of categories with the ability to drag and drop clips from one folder to another. True, a deeper level of nesting is not provided.

The purpose of PasteCopy.NET can be different: the simplest thing that comes to mind is creating a series of screenshots. We can separately mention two auxiliary functions, which are easy to confuse - autocomplete and autoinsert from the buffer. The first one is for automatic adding data from PasteCopy.NET to third party applications, the second is for importing directly into PasteCopy.NET. Options for auto-converting images, RTF, HTML are available.

The manager was not pleased with the number of settings, and there was no place for hot keys. There is no well-structured help - the developers refer to the forum. Resume

Essentially, PasteCopy.NET takes away the idea that what you copied won't be available for pasting. Clipboard history allows you to restore previously added data, regardless of what was last copied there. True, PasteCopy.NET supports formats selectively: for example, copied files are not displayed in history.

Clipdiary

Clipdiary, like PasteCopy.NET, monitors. This function is marked as “Monitor clipboard” and can be deactivated. In the program, viewing is available page by page, with 50 clips displayed on each page. Creating categories, unlike PasteCopy.NET, is not available, but in the lower left part of the window there is a search by content. It would be more correct to say that this is a filter, since this tool allows you to quickly filter out the necessary data on the fly.

The following actions are available with the contents of the clipboard: copying an already saved section to the clipboard; inserting a clip from a story into the application; search for a clip by content; obtaining information about the program from which the copying was made; selective deletion clips. Any of the presented data types can be saved to a file through the context menu, and multiple selection/insertion of clips is provided. Among the shortcomings, I would like to note the lack of image preview.

Pasting from the clipboard is done using the keyboard shortcut previously installed in the settings wizard. After clicking, a menu for selecting clips appears, each of which can be inserted into active application double click or by pressing Enter.

You can also select several fragments and paste at the same time (multiple insertion), individual text fragments can be combined into one clip. Moreover, you don’t need to do a lot of manipulations or open a context menu - almost any basic operation is performed with one click of the mouse.

An application window can be docked to the edges of the screen and placed on top of other applications. In addition to this, in the settings you can configure appearance and hot keys - both for interacting with the clipboard and for accessing program functions.

Support for all possible data formats is declared. This means that when copying, clips will be placed in a list, with the ability to search, preview, view detailed information. However, relative to the Free Clipboard Viewer Comfort, Clipbord loses in terms of information.

Comfort Clipboard Manager exists in two editions. Comparing Lite versions and Pro, there are a few key differences to note. Pro adds features such as data encryption, text editing, and assigning keyboard shortcuts to each clip for quick insertion. The maximum number of fragments saved to the clipboard in Comfort Clipboard Lite is limited to 100.

Generally speaking, Clipboard Master has two types of clipboard - a “traditional” one (with a history of added clips) and a fixed one, to which you can add those clips that will be used regularly.

To modify templates (fixed buffer), Clipboard Master has a text module editor (“Edit and add text modules”).

In the list you can see ready-made samples, although not in Russian. As for the clipboard list itself, to open it you can go to the editing menu “Show complete list / edit items...”. This manager cannot boast big list supported formats and flexible settings. Its purpose is to quickly copy/paste text fragments from the clipboard into text fields. Inserting images and other types of data is not supported.

Clipboard History is quite easy to understand. Those fragments that are copied to the clipboard (and which, in turn, is monitored by the program) are available in context menu. The insertion of each clip can be assigned to hotkeys.

In the Clipboard History settings, the number of elements to be stored is changed, their maximum size. From additional options You can note the correction of “broken” links (Fix broken links), as well as the option to ignore text that is less than a specified number of characters or exceeds a specified size.

The developers did not complicate the program interface without providing a convenient and informative display of history - as a result, it is difficult for the user to navigate the list of lines. It is not clear which application the clip was taken from; there is not even the most necessary thing - a preview window.

FastPaste is a program for copying data (text, images) to the clipboard and pasting into applications. Thanks to scripts and quick projects, FastPaste can perform several sequential actions.

FastPaste is a program with a simple and pleasant interface. We are not talking about “beauties”, but about the fact that all the elements are built competently and intuitively. There are 30 storage slots, each of which can be filled with a clip for later insertion. Not only pasting from the clipboard is supported, but also user input and image uploading (JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF). A convenient WYSIWYG editor with simple formatting is available for working with text.

Pasting fragments from the clipboard is done using Ctrl keys+ [digit]. Sets of clips can be saved in quick projects(Quick projects). The latter can be transferred to a flash drive and encrypted using the 256-bit AES algorithm (function PRO versions) and, again, assign it to a specific key combination.

In addition to standard clipboard formats, you can operate with tokens: for example, the %DATE% variable is replaced with the current date when inserted. How to increase the clipboard and is it possible? There are enough programs that are distributed free of charge (or shareware) and improve the quality of storage. You can choose the one you like best.

This is a shareware program for Windows (demo version for a month), which will be useful to professionals who, on duty, deal with large volumes of alternating, same-type data: designers, accountants, copywriters, correspondents, secretaries, etc. Provides the clipboard with advanced capabilities: saves thousands of objects, offers convenient sorting of them into thematic libraries, displays the date and time the item was received in the storage. After installation, the program icon will appear in the lower right corner of the taskbar, so you can access it quick access. It is possible to set “hot keys” for Ditto. Supports all Windows series.

CLCL

One of the very first utilities for clipboard caching. Advanced settings allow you to adapt the program to any user needs. Using a keyboard shortcut, you can not only instantly open the CLCL window, but also insert the selected element. It’s also convenient to work with images; you don’t have to remember their names: a thumbnail of each is displayed in the window.

IMPORTANT. The software is free and compatible with everyone, even older versions - Windows 2000 and Windows Vista. Available portable version, which does not require installation.

A simple, free and understandable program for Windows any versions. Makes it possible to customize the operating procedure so that the user is as comfortable as possible. Insertion is carried out using the Enter key or double click by content. You can change formatting, paste multiple items at once, and ignore certain types of data so they don't go to the clipboard. Increasing the swap file

To expand the memory capacity of the clipboard in Windows (for example, you copy graphics that weigh a lot, and the system displays an error), it is worth increasing the paging file. To do this, just go to “Control Panel” - “Administration” - “Computer Management” and in the required field set a value twice as high as the RAM indicator.

If in the future you want to reset these settings, simply enter zero values.

This one is small and useful program captures data (clips) copied to the clipboard and then allows the user to select and paste any clip in any program.

The most important thing is that this can be done at any time and the copied data will not disappear immediately after pasting (as the creators of the default operating system kindly suggest to us).

The difference between Clip Angel and Clipdiary

The difference between this manager and Clipdiary is simplicity - the latter is a little more sophisticated, a little more functional and... more annoying. He simply tormented me with his congratulations on my new achievements in the field of copying and pasting data. Now, if these achievements opened up some additional features tasty is another matter. But no, they’ve been congratulating me almost every day for five years now...

And the settings in Clipdiary are not very clear - I remember it took me a while to “enter” a considerable number of them and customize the program for myself.

Setting up Clip Angel

Everything here is very easy, simple and clear...

As you can see, there is practically nothing to configure. Disable automatic check updates (we don’t need constant “calls” to the network) and place the Windows clipboard manager to system startup.

You can also change the hotkey for showing the window and sequential insertion. An excellent feature, by the way, is this sequential paste - we copy three samples to the clipboard...

...and then poking with ONE (assigned) key on the keyboard - we insert these samples sequentially...

What else might the user need from good manager clipboard? Quick search among large quantity saved clips? Get...

Personally, I don’t need any more functions in such programs.

By the way, I almost forgot - insert copied data done by double clicking on the line with the clip. By the way, it can be edited directly in the program window.

This Windows clipboard manager is portable - you don't need to install it anywhere, it works from a folder. Unzip the downloaded file (1.4 MB) and click on the program shortcut - that’s it.

So as not to sometimes receive such evil notification windows...

A cross in the program window will not close it, but will minimize it to the third taskbar. But from there it closes (by right-clicking on the shortcut)…
