    1) Key activation

    1. Disable Protection and Self-Defense of the antivirus program.

    3. Launch KRT and reset the activation of the antivirus program by clicking the "Reset activation" button in accordance with the instructions.
    4. After restarting the computer and (or) starting the antivirus program (the antivirus must start, if you do not start the antivirus, file activation will not work (Error code: KRTE0016) disable Protection and Self-Defense.

    Attention! After changing the value of the registry parameter, KIS will not be activated from the LC servers as in the usual way for 30 days, and with activation codes for a different number of days,
    other antivirus functions will work. To return KIS to a normal state with the possibility of activation,
    you need to return the value of the LicActivationUrlV2 registry parameter to original condition(replace "127.0.0.1"
    at "https://activation-v2.kaspersky.com/activationservice/activationservice.svc").
    This is additional information, there is no need to return the value!
    3. Launch KRT and briefly press Ctrl+Alt to launch the Advanced mode (in the latest version of KRT you no longer need to press),
    Click Activate and select the activation file KIS_2016_08/23/2017_2049.lic or KIS_2016_08/25/2017_3CED.lic (If an access error occurs, remove the “read-only” attribute from this file)

    After this, the antivirus will start on its own.
    4. Delete KRT completely (to the trash and from the trash or with a shift). We turn on Defense and Self-Defense. We install updates.
    5. Banning patches no longer makes sense.

    Note:
    1. The name of the activation files is created in accordance with the installed antivirus product. The activation file can be renamed to any name.
    2. Commercial activation is saved and transferred from all lines of identical antivirus products from 2013 to 2016MR1, and lic files saved from any version of the antivirus are installed on any version of the antivirus, both in ascending order from 2013 to 2016, and in descending order from 2016 to 2013, if the activation codes from which the lic files were removed are suitable for these versions of antivirus products, the lic files are linked to the activation codes.
    3. Trial (trial) activation is not transferred.
    4. KRT 5.1.0.XXX does not support lic files made by previous versions KRT 5.0.0.XXX. This is due to a change in the activation saving and transfer algorithm.
    5. Saving and transferring Kaspersky activation Free Antivirus 2016 in KRT 5.1.0.ХХХ is blocked, since trial (trial) activation is not transferred.

    Relevant for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 with UAC disabled (in rare cases):
    If, some time after resetting the trial, the activation of the antivirus program fails, then in this case, run KRT with administrator rights (right mouse button - Run as administrator).
    For normal operation KRT on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 UAC must be enabled.

    Relevant for Windows 10 when resetting the activation of antivirus products:
    After disabling Protection, Self-Defense and unloading the antivirus program, Windows Defender is automatically turned on, which blocks the KRT program from resetting the activation. You need to go to settings: All settings - Update and security - Windows Defender and disable all settings. Next, reset the activation with the KRT program.

    If, when resetting the trial with the KRT program, a message appears Error code KRTEхххх or after some time the activation of the anti-virus program fails, then maybe the mark is deleted only with system rights. In this case:

    1. Install the runassystem program from the archive.
    2. Run runassystem.exe and through it (the "Browse..." button) open KRT.
    3. Reset activation by clicking the "Reset activation" button in KRT.

    Program runassystem will allow KRT to work not just with administrator rights, but with system rights. If KRT does not reset the activation in this case or error codes appear, then reset the activation in safe mode.

    Resetting activation in safe mode (more relevant for the 2016MR1 line when settings are locked, but applies to all antivirus products).

    OS Windows 7:
    Loading into safe mode via the F8 key when restarting the computer. Resetting KRT activation. After antivirus program will start, reboot the computer into normal mode and activate the antivirus.

    OS Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10:
    Boot into safe mode. While holding Shift key reboot the computer. A screen will appear with a selection of parameters, select: Troubleshooting -> Additional options-> Boot Options and click Restart.     When you reset activation in safe mode, all antivirus program settings will become available.

    Reset activation when settings are locked (new method):

    1. Unload the antivirus program.
    2. Run from archive PC Hunter(according to the OS bit depth), select the Registry tab - the registry will open).
    3. Change the value from 1 to 0 of the EnableSelfProtection parameter (right mouse button - Modify). We look for the parameter in the branch:

    - OS x32 - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KasperskyLab\AVP16.0.1\settings
    4. Launch an antivirus program.
    5. Unload the antivirus program.
    6. Launch KRT, in the settings uncheck the "Select optimal settings automatically" and set the "Restart computer" option, click "Apply".
    7. Reset activation. After restarting the computer, all antivirus program settings, as well as the “Activate trial version” function, will become available.

    Note:
    1. Reset activation when settings are locked in strict accordance with the instructions. Tested on Windows 10 (10.0.14393.0 version 1607) x64, Windows 7 x64 with KIS 2016 (16.0.1.445), KIS 2017 (17.0.0.611) installed.     Resetting activation when blocking the settings of antivirus programs KAV, KIS, KTS (method from popklop):

    If the trial period has ended and the settings are blocked (disabling Self-Defense is impossible), we activate the antivirus program with a different code, different from the installed version of the antivirus. The antivirus program is transformed into another version in accordance with the entered code and all settings will become available.
