    Mi Band works not only with the popular Android and iOS operating systems, but also unofficially supports mobile operating system from Microsoft - Windows Phone.

    The store has an app from Xiaomi fans that can measure steps and heart rate. But to receive data while you sleep you will have to buy Pro version applications.

    Hello friends!

    Why did I buy it?

    Well, first of all, I'm very... And I like all sorts of new things. Therefore, when I saw such a bracelet from a friend, I was very interested in it. A friend had a Xiaomi Mi Band bracelet. And I decided to buy just this one for myself.

    I also bought a bracelet to track my activity during the day and try the famous alarm clock, because this bracelet wakes up a person when he is sleeping in certain time, which is set by the person himself.

    I’ll tell you about the functions of the bracelet below, and I’ll also tell you how the Xiaomi Mi Band fitness bracelet works.

    Purchase history

    Before I talk about the functions of the bracelet and show how it works, I want to tell you how I bought it.

    As usual, I don't have any adventures. I received a letter in the mail that the Citrus store (I bought an iPad there at one time) is offering a 200 UAH discount on the purchase of goods until the 13th.

    Since the bracelet in Ukraine costs 500 UAH in Citrus, I decided that it would be a great purchase.

    My wife and I went to the store and were told that the discount did not apply to this product. Of course, I was upset, but decided not to despair. We have 3 such stores in Dnepropetrovsk and I decided to go to others and ask if this is so.

    Arriving at the second store, we were told that there is a second version of this bracelet and it costs 50 UAH more. In principle, the difference is small and the discount applies to the second version. It was not there, such a bracelet was not available.

    As a result, we went to the third store and bought it there, and if it weren’t for my desire and the desire of the saleswoman in the first store to notify that there was a discount on another bracelet, the Citrus company would have lost profit, and I would have lost my birthday gift (yeah I decided to give it to myself as a gift).

    Functions and operating principle of Xiaomi Mi Band

    In general, I came home and unpacked the bracelet. The box for it is compact and small.

    After I unpacked it, I installed the chip itself in the strap and began to understand it.

    In order for it to work you need an application called MiFit. The first time you log in, you will need to register and enter your phone number to which a message will be sent.

    After this, the application will open and you will need to establish a connection with the bracelet and set the settings: a) on which hand you will wear the bracelet, b) the number of steps that you set for yourself per day.

    Also in the settings you can set the bracelet to vibrate when you receive a call. Very useful feature.

    In addition, there are other menus there. For example, you can set an alarm for a specific time and divide it into weekdays and weekends. It also has a smart alarm function. You set the time and it will be there half an hour before, catching you when you can wake up.

    I have not tested this function yet, but one of these days I want to do it.

    It's very convenient to have it full statistics sleep: when they went to bed, when they got up, how long the deep sleep lasted, how long the shallow sleep lasted. Everything is clear in the application.

    Regarding physical activity. The application shows how many steps, kilometers have been taken, and how many calories have been burned. Very convenient! When you have walked a little or completely completed the number of steps for the day, the bracelet itself vibrates and lets you know about it.

    In general, there is nothing complicated in the bracelet; it is synchronized via Bluetooth with the phone, charging lasts once every 30 days. I will say that so far I really like its functions and even a beginner can figure it out.

    Regarding the price. I bought it in Citrus in Ukraine at a discount, but whoever wants to buy it, for example, in the same Allo, it costs less (the first version of the bracelet). I haven’t looked in Russia, but I know that you can also order directly on Aliexpress. The price will be quite reasonable.

    I almost bought it on Aliexpress when it was Black Friday. It then cost something in the region of 1300-1700 rubles, it seems.

    This is the gadget I have now guys. I recommend it to anyone who likes such things and wants to monitor their physical condition. Considering the price of this bracelet and the features, it will fulfill your needs quite well.

    Of course, in the same Citrus I saw generally cool bracelets for 4-5000 UAH, but it seems to me that they are absolutely for athletes and people who are willing to spend decent money on gadgets and monitoring their physical health.

    Would you buy such a thing yourself? Share in the comments.

    That's all guys, subscribe to blog updates, share the link to the article on social networks.

    I would like to apologize for the delay in this review, I understand perfectly well that everyone has already talked about Mi Band 2. However, Xiaomi devices have always had to be obtained through Chinese or Russian online stores, and this is not so easy.

    Now the situation has changed, we are working with the Russian representative office and are gradually reducing the gaps between the announcement of devices and the appearance of their reviews on our website. To confirm my words, I can note that the Mi6 review will be released next week.

    Equipment

    • Bracelet
    • Charging cable
    • Documentation

    Let me remind you that the tracker uses its own charging connector, so I recommend taking care of this small wire and not losing it.

    Appearance

    You know, in the photographs the bracelet looks somehow too simple and cheap, I was even mentally prepared for the fact that I wouldn’t like it externally, but in real life the Mi Band 2 looks much better. A kind of ordinary inexpensive electronic watch.

    The strap is made of silicone, it is long enough even for my wide wrist.

    The capsule (for some reason I want to call the base of the bracelet exactly that, however, it is similar in shape) is removed from the bracelet with inside. Xiaomi took into account complaints from users whose first Mi Band could fall out of the strap.

    The bracelet is thin and light, you can hardly feel it on your hand.

    Display and button

    The main difference between Mi Band 2 and the first version is the presence of a display. This is a simple OLED screen with a diagonal of 0.42 inches. It displays the time by default if you press the button, then information about steps taken, distance, battery charge or heart rate will appear. By the way, the key is touch sensitive, not physical.

    The display is small, but it copes with its task 100%: it does not go blind in the sun, displays basic information, and most importantly, you can always see what time it is.

    Possibilities

    I like that, despite the low price, Mi Band 2 has almost all the functionality of more expensive trackers. But first things first.

    1. Pedometer. Mi Band 2 measures steps quite accurately, the error does not exceed 5%. When you are in a car or public transport, the tracker “understands” and does not react to shocks when moving.
    2. Sleep tracker. The Mi Band 2 can also track your sleep, but it doesn't do it very well. For example, if you lie down and watch TV for a long time before going to bed, he may mistake your position for a light phase of sleep. By the way, a smart alarm clock in latest versions applications have been disabled.
    3. Notifications. In the settings you can enable vibration for notifications from specific applications. The text will not be shown on the display, but you will see the program icon. You can also set Mi Band 2 to remind you that it’s time to warm up after sitting at the computer for a long time.
    4. You can also measure your pulse using the tracker. According to my observations, his numbers are close to reality, at least in my example.
    5. The tracker is protected according to the IP67 standard, it can be wet, some even managed to swim in it.

    All information is in the Mi Fit application, the program is neat and already Russified, available for Android and iOS, there is synchronization with Google Fit and Apple Health. If you wish, you can view sleep or step graphs. By the way, data from the Mi Scale is also uploaded to this application.

    Autonomous operation

    It is stated that Mi Band 2 can work up to ten days on a single charge. For once, official data and actual use are the same! My tracker was evenly discharged by 10% per day. Of course, given the month of work of the first Mi Band, these data are sad, but such is the price to pay for a small screen. Charging time is about two hours from any USB port.

    Conclusion

    You know, I have always advocated the purchase of certified versions of accessories and gadgets, but in the case of the Mi Band 2, the price of the gray carriers is so attractive (from 1,200 rubles) that I simply cannot raise my hand to advise that you buy the bracelet at the official price in 2,990 rubles.

    In my opinion, the beauty of Mi Band 2 is that it is such an inexpensive fitness tracker. Most of my friends get tired of wearing them after a couple of months, but here it seems like I didn’t pay much, but I was able to understand whether you need such an accessory or not. And even if you need it, the capabilities of Mi Band 2 are enough for most users.

    UPD: Mi Band 2 owners share their operating time statistics. For some of them, the bracelet lasted up to 30-40 days. Readers also recommend the Mi Band Tools application to expand the tracker's capabilities.

    People leading active image life, have long known about such a unique invention as the Xiaomi miband bracelet. More recently, similar items were produced by European companies, but their cost was equal to the purchase of gold. Naturally, not everyone could afford to buy such a bracelet. But there is a need. Therefore, Chinese inventors have developed a more budget-friendly, but no worse, option. The main purpose of the device is to encourage the user to engage in fitness. At the same time, the bracelet is multifunctional.

    If we consider sports, jumping rope, abdominal pumping, treadmill, and walking are initially available. But this is not the limit, because the developers periodically add new sports. By the way, if necessary, you have a unique opportunity to leave your vote in favor of one of the types. In addition, the bracelet allows you to calculate the number of steps and calories that have been burned. The most amazing thing is the device’s ability to calculate calories based on the user’s individual data. The device’s sensor also shows how many calories were spent on certain foods. For example, you ate a piece of meat, and the sensor will instantly tell you how many kilocalories you have gained. This is especially important for those who are on a diet. Basic functions:

    • step measurement;
    • parameters of burned calories;
    • length of the distance covered;
    • alarm clock, characterized by a gentle method;
    • duration of work autonomously;
    • the ability to unlock the phone;
    • IP67 moisture protection.

    Before you turn on the Xiaomi Mi Band fitness bracelet, you need to charge it. To do this, the bracelet is inserted into the power source using a special adapter. This could be a power outlet, a computer or a laptop. During the charging period, you can set necessary programs via smartphone or tablet. This is not difficult to do, since you need to go to the application store (on your phone) and type into the search engine Mi Fit program.

    Design solution and device

    Xiaomi Mi Band.

    Xiaomi Mi Band smart bracelet appearance is a silicone strap with an inserted capsule, which looks like an elongated tablet. This capsule contains 2 contacts (on one side), 3 LEDs and a logo. At the top there is a gray touch surface. LEDs act as a charge level indicator, which can flash in 4 colors: blue, green, orange and red. Moreover, you set the color yourself. The silicone strap is quite pleasant to the touch and does not cause allergic reactions or irritation even in the hottest weather. In such a bracelet you can take a shower, bath, swim in a pond.

    The design is designed in such a way that the bracelet is not noticeable, but also not noticeable on the wrist, because it is made in rather thin shapes. The rivet is made of high-quality anodized aluminum. In this model no monitor and all kinds of buttons, because control is done through modern gadgets. The weight of the bracelet is only 13 grams. The classic color of the release is black, but there are many other shades. In addition, it is possible to replace the silicone element.

    Functional Features

    In your review of the bracelet, you can include such a feature as the ability to connect to a tablet, laptop, Android smartphone (minimum 4.3) and “ Apple iPhone" The equipment must be equipped with the Bluetooth function (4.0). In ignorance English language, you can use the official community “miui.su”, where there is a version in Russian.

    Mi Fit app.

    To make the initial launch you need to create an account in the application, and then go through the registration process. Your phone number must be entered, but the numbers must begin with “00380”. For authorization, enter a different phone number: “+380”. Next, the application administration conducts a survey directly about you, weight, height and body parameters. This completes the launch phase. The indication works in a unique way, because the LEDs light up at the moment when you wave your hand, like looking at a watch. This is a necessity, otherwise the battery will quickly drain. This is called autonomy. The indicators are designed in such a way that a person does not constantly look at the smartphone. The fact is that these 3 LEDs not only show charge level data, but also have three degrees of progress control. That is, if only one light comes on, it means that one third of the goal has been achieved. Consequently, with each subsequent indication that turns on, progress increases.

    Key Features The smart bracelet is a pedometer and a “smart alarm clock”, so the monitor in the application is divided into 2 equal parts. And the transition can be made with a slight movement to one side. But at the bottom of the screen all the information about the calories that were burned and the number of steps is displayed. To set the norm for the day, you simply need to indicate the required amount of one or another in the “settings” menu. The visibility of the remaining charge level and the ability to find your own bracelet are very convenient. After all, it often happens that you take it in the most unexpected place, and then forget, and light indication and simultaneous vibration will allow you to quickly detect it.

    Existing features of "xiaomi miband 2"

    Very good news is the duration of work battery. According to the specified autonomy, the device can operate 25-30 days, but in reality, 5-10 days more. Thus, after charging the capsule once, it can be used for more than a month. In addition, a modern bracelet is capable of producing vibration if the smartphone receives incoming call, which is quite convenient. For example, you are in another room and you simply cannot hear the phone, but the bracelet independently gives you this signal.

    It is especially worth focusing on such a function as an alarm clock. It has 3 settings options. This is the ability to switch a regular alarm clock to a “smart” one, the number of vibration repetitions and the trigger time. It is worth noting that at the moment of awakening, only the bracelet vibrates, and not the phone. One more distinctive feature is considered to be awakening in light sleep phase, that is, it is during this phase that a person wakes up most easily without harming the body. It looks something like this: you set your alarm for 7:30, but the bracelet can wake you up a few minutes earlier. Exactly at the moment when the body needs it. It’s worth mentioning right away that even if the light sleep phase does not occur until 8 am, the alarm clock will still disturb you at the appointed time, that is, at 7:30. The bracelet vibrates as many times as you set, but even after 5 minutes it makes a “control call”. The only drawback of the alarm clock is the lack of a sleep schedule during the day.

    It's no secret that modern smartphones tend to get blocked, so this bracelet is designed with this in mind, that is you can unlock your phone. To enable this function, just install graphic key. Some models have a notification function, but if you need it, then choose this model. In general, the settings here are quite extensive, so you can independently set the notification method: indicator, vibration, or two options together. It is also possible to set the frequency and duration of information.

    Advantages and disadvantages

    "Xiaomi miband" is rightfully considered a good model of a smart fitness bracelet, because, despite its low cost, it has a huge number of advantages:

    • lightness of mass;
    • high degree of protection (IP67 standard);
    • simplified but at the same time stylish design;
    • high quality of work;
    • charging autonomy;
    • Android and iOS applications;
    • high degree of functionality;
    • the ability to detect the bracelet;
    • smart and perfect alarm clock;
    • long service life;
    • information about calls and notifications;
    • possibility of replacing the silicone element;
    • the presence of various shades and patterns;
    • convenience during use.

    Of course, as with any other model, there are its disadvantages, but there are much fewer of them:

    • problem of application localization;
    • inability to use 2 devices at the same time (smartphone, laptop);
    • poor visibility of LEDs in bright sun;
    • no daytime alarm mode;
    • weak filtering of random waves.

    This model is constantly being improved, especially with regard to software. Moreover, it is possible to leave your wishes, which the developers take into account when developing the bracelet. Today it has become known that functions such as quick naps and a reminder that a person needs to warm up a little are in the development phase. In addition, a completely new and quite new interesting design strap. The Xiaomi miband bracelet kit includes a universal and convenient packaging made of thick cardboard, silicone strap, two instructions, but on Chinese, a charger and a capsule-shaped sensor itself.
