• We change the melody through the built-in conductor. How to adjust settings for ringing tones

    When a user first encounters a new type of smartphone, they need to quickly figure out how to use some basic functions. In this article we will look at one of these basic functions, namely setting ringtones. In this article you will learn how to set a ringtone on an Android smartphone with a standard shell and a Samsung shell.

    Setting a ringtone using the example of an Android smartphone Google Nexus

    First, we'll tell you how to set a ringtone if you have a smartphone with a standard Android shell. As you might guess, first go to the Android settings. To do this, open the top curtain and click on the gear button, or find the Settings application in the list of applications or on the desktop. Once you have opened Settings, you need to go to the “Sound” section (the “Device” settings group).

    And then you need to open the subsection called “Ringtone”.

    This way you will open a list of ringtones that are already present on your Android smartphone and that you can use. To install one of these ringtones, select it and click on the “OK” button. After this, the selected ringtone will be set as the standard one and will be played when there is an incoming call.

    If you are not satisfied with standard ringtones and want to use own melody, then this melody must first be loaded into the device’s memory and placed in the /media/audio/ringtones/ folder. This can be done in different ways, but the easiest way is to connect your Android smartphone to your computer using USB cable. We will consider this option below.

    Connect your Android smartphone to your computer with via USB cable and open the My Computer window. After connecting, the icon of your smartphone should appear there. If there is such an icon, then just open it.

    If the smartphone icon does not appear, then you need to change the operating mode of the smartphone from USB connection. To do this, you need to open the top curtain on your smartphone, click on connection notifications and select “File transfer” in the menu that opens.

    After opening the smartphone on the computer, you need to go to the “Internal storage” section, and then to the /media/audio/ringtones/ folder. If the /ringtones/ folder is missing, you can create it yourself.

    Copy the desired ringtones to the /media/audio/ringtones/ folder and you can install them on your smartphone through the settings.

    Setting a ringtone using the example of an Android smartphone from Samsung

    If you have a Samsung smartphone, then the process of setting a ringtone will be a little easier. First, you need to open the Settings app and then go to the Sound section (Device tab).

    As a result, a menu with standard ringtones will open. If one of the standard ringtones suits you, you can simply select it and click on the “Yes” button. If you want to set your own non-standard ringtone, then you need to click on the “Add” button.

    Next will open file manager, with which you can select any ringtone that is located in any folder on your smartphone. As you can see, in the case of a Samsung smartphone, you do not need to specifically connect the device to the computer and download the ringtone to a specific folder. Here everything can be done through the smartphone interface.

    How to assign a ringtone to a contact group in Android

    The selection of melodies downloaded over the Internet in the Contacts application has not yet been completed - this is the task of new versions of Android. To set your own ringtones, use third-party apps such as Group Realtones. Most of them are available on PlayMarket.

    How to set a different sound for notifications or SMS

    Check the sound of the melody. Send some free SMS, to which you will receive a response SMS. Either log in, for example, to any of your bank accounts or electronic wallet, in which an SMS notification is configured when entering it. Setting the ringtone for incoming messages is complete.

    How to adjust settings for ringing tones

You need to adjust the parameters of the ringing signal when music or video is not playing on the gadget, preferably at the moment it arrives. incoming call. There is another way: give the command “Settings - Sounds” and set the volume and vibration to your liking.

    Installing and configuring video for incoming calls

    But if everything is simpler with melodies and music, then “video tones” for an incoming call is a special issue. Why is this even necessary, you ask. And yet, Android software developers have brought this opportunity to life. One such application is Videotones Pro or VideoCallerID.

    Videotones Pro app

    The Videotones Pro program, despite being paid, has simple and accessible settings that make it easy to install video on a call.

    Why the installed signal may fail

    The problem with installing ringing signals in Android may appear suddenly. Reasons:

    • flaw current version Android ("curve" program code, or "custom" Android kernel does not support some functions);
    • no Root rights (by default, ringtones are in the system Android folder- \system\media\audio\ringtones, it is possible to replace them with those available in your music library);
    • the third-party application you are using is not yet developed or has not received an update, in which required functions would be implemented.

    It’s not enough to have high-quality and expensive mobile device. Customizing your smartphone to make a good impression on others is easy! Now you know how to install any song or video on incoming call or SMS so that pleasant sounds can be heard from the speaker of your gadget.

    Android is an operating system that allows the user to individualize their device, completely customizing it for themselves. But sometimes owners of Android mobile phones experience difficulties trying to understand settings that at first seem not so complicated.

    In the Android system, you can set a separate ringtone for any event

    There are many options for changing ringtones on your smartphone. And today we will look at most of them in detail.

    All these methods are divided into 2 groups:

    • with the help standard applications operating system- such as alarm clock or settings;
    • using advanced methods - by distributing the desired music to specific folders on the memory card, or using root access.

    The first and perhaps the most easy way change the ringer on your smartphone - do it using the built-in music player. To do this, you need to go to the main menu and open the “Music” or “Player” tab. On different phones this program may be called differently, but it must be present in any case.

    Find the desired song in the list of audio recordings that you would like to play and press it. A window will appear in which you will need to select the “Call” option or something like that. Perhaps this item will be hidden under three dots, the “More” or “Advanced” button.

    Installing a ringtone using the file manager

    Open the menu and find an icon there that says “File Manager”. Next we follow the path in which the composition is located. Either phone memory or SD card - it all depends on where you store music files. Next, look for the Music directory and open it. Find the desired track and press until it is applied automatic selection. Then we open context menu and click “Use as signal”.

    We set the desired composition through the standard settings

    Use the menu to go to settings. Next - go to the sound tab. But then the fun begins. There is a call change function in the sound settings, that's for sure - but where it is, you'll have to figure it out. It may be called “Vibrate and ringtone”, or “Phone ringtones”, or something else. Click on the “Call” item and change the melodies, indicating the desired composition in the file manager.

    Unfortunately, even now there are still phone models that allow you to set only standard ringtones. There is a solution to this problem thanks to a special application Rings Extended. The application is free and can be downloaded from the Android market. When installed, it is added to the system. By going to Settings and selecting “Phone Signal”, the “Rings Extended” button will appear. When you click on it, you can set any song or audio file as a ringtone.

    We use a more advanced method to set the melody

    If the previous methods did not work, let's try a more advanced method. To do this, you will need to go to the memory card on your device through the file manager and create several folders there. The first folder we will create will be called media. Then create an audio folder in the media directory.

    By going to this folder, we will find ourselves in the sdcard/media/audio directory. Inside we create four directories: alarms, notifications, ringtones, ui. Please note that directories are created without periods or spaces, with a lowercase letter. Thus we get:

    • sdcard/media/audio/alarms - alarm signals;
    • sdcard/media/audio/notifications - signals for alerts and SMS;
    • sdcard/media/audio/ringtones - ringtones for the phone;
    • sdcard/media/audio/ui - interface sounds.

    Now, to set the desired ringtone, alarm, interface or SMS, you just need to put the desired melody in the appropriate directory. You do not have to create all 4 folders, if, for example, you want to change only the standard signal - just create the path sdcard/media/audio/ringtones and put the desired song in the ringtones directory. After completing all operations, reboot the device and try to set up a call through the phone settings - you will see that the audio recordings you moved have been added to the assortment of standard ringtones.

    If you have root rights, then you can do it even simpler: copy necessary melodies to the appropriate directories at system/media/audio.

    How to set a ringtone for a call from a specific contact

    To do this, we will need to go to the phone book of the smartphone. Then select the desired contact and open the window additional settings. After that, select “Set ringtone”. And then we select the right signal and save the settings.

    This method only works if the contact is saved in internal memory smartphone, not on the SIM card. Otherwise, set the ringtone to a certain person it won't work.

    Conclusion

    In fact, there is nothing difficult about installing a call on Android yourself. But if the user encounters such an operating system for the first time, he may simply not know about all its capabilities. Choose any of the described methods and set the ringtone to the music you like!

    Since version 4 Android problems as the ringtone changes, it becomes less and less common - OS developers long ago introduced a separate tab dedicated to music notifications in Settings, added the ability to change the “sound” of individual contacts, and opened access to system parameters third party applications. But, if for some reason questions still remain, then the right way put music on the call - take a look at the detailed instructions!

    Proven methods

    You can change the standard and already boring ringtone to a long-loved track on the Android operating system like this:

    Install via media player

    The “Music” section, hidden either on the desktop or in the main menu of the smartphone, allows you to turn any track available on the internal or external memory to ringtone music. And the algorithm for setting your own ringtone is extremely simple.

    By the way, the method sometimes works with third-party MP3 music players, and not just with the standard one - so sometimes you can experiment!

    Via "Settings"

    If for some reason the method above did not work, then you will have to turn to the truly all-powerful menu of parameters and capabilities of the operating system. It is in “Settings”, in the “Sounds and Notifications” section, that you can easily change the vibration and activate the appearance of “ indicator light", and, of course, change the ringtone. Deal with system menu Anyone can do it, but to complete the picture it is better not to deviate from the instructions.

    In the same menu, you can also set a notification about the arrival of SMS - you will have to look for such a function in the “Default ringtone” section.

    Via the "Contacts" menu

    The method of changing the ringtone through “Settings” almost always works, but sometimes it’s not the performance that’s important, but the variety. Exactly address book will allow you to add individuality to each contact and turn a boring call into a real musical hit parade. It all works as follows.

    The method works on all modern Android versions, but some actions may differ, as well as the names of some menus and sections.

    Through third party applications

    Did the methods listed above not lead to positive results? Only appeared additional problems? This means that you will have to turn to the system tools available in Google Play and partially automating the process. Best option put a song on a call third-party service program - .

    It is impossible to get lost in the main menu. The interface is predictable and clear, and the functionality is incredibly extensive. The developers allow you to select a ringtone for SMS and calls, quickly “cut off” the excess, change the vibration and set each separate contact own notification.

    Another good assistant in solving problems with your ringtone can be RingTone Slicer FX, which is functionally a music editor. If working with the files available in memory is too boring with your own hands, then the developers offer a look into the extensive electronic library already prepared ringtones. The selection is impressive, and even with proper navigation and the ability to sort the results by views and reviews from the community.

    Possible problems and their solutions

    Each method listed above usually works on all versions of the operating system. Android systems and on smartphones of any brands. But if problems arise and the ringtone is not set, then it is worth understanding the following small nuances:

    • Check the duration of the track installed on the call. If three-minute compositions are not played, then it is better to cut off the excess, at least to a minute, and sometimes to 30 seconds.
    • If you can’t even select a ringtone from the list of available ones, then there is a problem with access rights to the file library; it is better to use the explorer downloaded from Google Play.
    • Sometimes tracks for an incoming call can be added not from the entire library of files, but only from some directories. For example, it is sometimes better to download ringtones at: media/audio/ringtones, and notifications at media/audio/notifications.
    • If an individual contact from phone book If you can’t set the ringtone you like, sometimes it’s worth re-selecting the method of saving the contact from the SIM card to the smartphone’s memory. It seems like a small thing, but it saves the situation.

    To make your contacts recognizable from the first seconds of a call and add individuality to them, we suggest using an Android feature such as setting a melody for a separate contact.

    It's very easy to do. First, you need to decide on the ringtone itself and the contact itself to which we will install this melody.

    Next, click the handset icon to open the list of your contacts. Select the contact you want to set a ringtone to. Click on the image icon, after which this contact should open for viewing. In the upper right corner you can see three icons - a star for adding favorite status to a contact, a pencil for editing a contact and three vertical dots for opening additional options. Click on the pencil icon.

    The contact editing menu opens, where in the upper right corner there are three vertical dots, when clicked they open additional options. We find the “Set ringtone” option, click and select from the proposed melodies the one that seems most suitable for you this contact. Click “Ok” to confirm the selection. Ready!

    Setting a custom melody

    Installing a custom ringtone will take a little longer. First you need to download the necessary ringtones, you can do this directly from your phone, just search for “download ringtone”. Once you have downloaded all the necessary ringtones, you can proceed to adding them to the list of ringtones.

    We will need a file manager, we can use standard dispatcher files. I recommend using ES Explorer; users love it for its convenience and simplicity. You can download it from the link below:

    After installing the ES Explorer application, launch it. Press the “Menu” button and select “Downloads”. A download folder will open containing the downloaded ringtones.

    Now we need to copy the melodies; to do this, click on the name of one of the melodies and hold your finger on the screen until the selection mode turns on (squares should appear at the bottom of the icons). Now select all the melodies by clicking on their icons. Next, click the “copy” button:

    Open the menu again and select “Device”, go to the “sdcard” folder, then go to the “Ringtones” folder and press the “Insert” button.
