• Cheap mobile operator. Choosing the cheapest mobile Internet for your phone - review of tariffs

    For a long time on the market cellular communication there were no offers with unlimited Internet without restrictions on traffic and speed. Once upon a time, almost all operators had similar offers, but over time they became unavailable for connection and unlimited internet without any restrictions became something unreal. In 2016, subscribers finally had the opportunity to use the mobile Internet without worrying about the amount of traffic spent. At first, this opportunity was provided by the Yota operator, and then unlimited Internet appeared at Beeline, MTS and MegaFon.

    When we say unlimited, we mean that there are no restrictions on the speed and volume of traffic consumed. Operators also call unlimited those offers that include a certain traffic package, after which, after exhaustion, the speed of Internet access drops. It turns out that the subscriber actually receives unlimited Internet, but it is of little use, since after using up available package traffic speed will drop to an extremely low value.

    As part of this review, we will look at tariffs and options that provide unlimited mobile Internet without speed limits and traffic quotas. Yota, Beeline, MTS and MegaFon currently have such offers. We will do detailed review all proposals and will try to determine the best. It is now quite possible to connect to unlimited Internet, but you should not hope that it will be the same as before. Unfortunately, there were no restrictions at all.

    Unlimited Internet on Beeline

    For a long time, unlimited mobile Internet was available only from the Yota operator, but it does not have such a large customer base as Beeline, MegaFon and MTS, and therefore there was not much noise around this offer, although it also deserves attention and we will return to it later . As for the big three, Beeline was the first to offer unlimited Internet. Postpaid tariffs of the “Everything” line include mobile Internet without speed limits and traffic quotas. Postpaid tariffs differ from prepaid ones in that they provide the opportunity to first use communication services and then pay. Most often, you can switch to such tariffs at the Beeline office. Unlimited Beeline Internet on postpaid “Everything” tariffs is available as part of a promotion that has been extended several times and is still valid to this day.

    Beeline decided not to stop at postpaid tariffs with unlimited mobile Internet and opened the “#EVERYTHING” tariff plan for connection, which provides for an advance payment method. There is also a tariff plan with unlimited Internet for tablets. So far, Beeline has three active offers with unlimited Internet.

    • Tariffs “Everything” postpaid;
    • Tariff “Everything is possible”;
    • Tariff “Unlimited for tablet”.

    Tariffs have a number of differences and features, so you should consider them separately.

    Postpaid tariffs “Everything” with unlimited internet

    Postpaid tariffs of the “Everything” line differ in size subscription fee and the volume of service packages, but all of them provide unlimited Internet without speed limits and traffic quotas. The most popular is. We have already done a detailed review of this tariff plan and recommend that you familiarize yourself with it. Here we present brief information according to the tariff.

    The “All for 500” postpaid tariff includes:

    • Monthly subscription fee - 500 rubles;
    • Unlimited calls to Beeline numbers throughout Russia;
    • 600 minutes for calls to numbers of other operators;
    • 300 SMS messages;
    • Unlimited Internet with unlimited traffic quota.

    As you can see, in addition to unlimited Internet, the tariff plan provides unlimited calls to Beeline numbers at home and when traveling around Russia, as well as impressive packages of minutes and SMS. All this is wonderful, but without pitfalls not the case here. The subscriber actually gets the opportunity to use the Internet without speed limits and traffic quotas, but subject to certain conditions.

    “Everything” postpaid tariffs are characterized by the following features:

    1. If a phone with a SIM card is used as a modem or Wi-Fi hotspot, Internet access is limited. Limitations are comparable to complete shutdown Internet.
    2. The tariff plan cannot be used on modems, routers, or even tablets. Unlimited mobile internet is available only for phones.
    3. The tariff provides for a speed limit for downloading from file-sharing networks. That is, you will not be able to download files through torrent clients.
    4. In a document with detailed description tariff plan, you can find a clause that states that the operator does not guarantee Internet speed in case of network load. In fact, at any time you can reduce the speed of your network access and refer to this point.
    5. On tariffs of the “Everything” line with a postpaid payment system, the “Internet for everything” service is not available. Let us remind you that this service is intended for distributing the Internet to other subscribers (not via Wi-Fi).

    Undoubtedly, the shortcomings are very significant and greatly spoil the impression of the tariff. However, Beeline has other offers with unlimited Internet, although they are also far from ideal.

    Tariff “#everything is possible”

    The tariff plan appeared quite recently. Many argue that this is a response from MTS, which has opened a tariff plan for connection “ Smart Unlimited", which is superior in many respects to the postpaid tariffs "Everything". It is difficult to say whether this tariff is the best and the opinions of subscribers in this regard differ greatly. We invite you to read the tariff description and then decide what is best for you.

    The daily fee is 10 rubles for the first month. From the second month, the subscription fee rises to 13 rubles. per day for most regions of Russia and 20 rubles. for Moscow and Moscow region. The cost of switching to the tariff is 100 rubles. The tariff is not the cheapest and for this fee you should expect a lot from it.

    The tariff can be everything Beeline includes:

    • Unlimited mobile Internet throughout Russia without speed or traffic limitations;
    • Unlimited calls to Beeline Russia subscribers;
    • 100 minutes (in most regions) or 250 minutes (Moscow and Moscow region) to all networks home region and Beeline Russia telephones;
    • 100 SMS (in most regions) or 250 SMS (Moscow and Moscow region) to numbers in your home region.

    If you compare the “#everything is possible” tariff with the “Everything for 500” postpaid tariff, the second one looks more attractive, as it includes more impressive service packages. As for the Internet, the “EVERYTHING is possible” tariff has almost similar conditions. The tariff plan appeared quite recently and not all of its features are known yet. Below are a number of tariff disadvantages that are officially confirmed. Unofficial information (subscriber reviews) suggests many other shortcomings.

    The “#EVERYTHING is possible” tariff has the following disadvantages:

    Such conditions are typical for the “#EVERYTHING” tariff. As you can see, there are a lot of pitfalls here and it’s difficult to call this tariff plan ideal. However, ideal tariffs do not exist at all. If you are a fan of Beeline, then it has another offer with unlimited internet.

    Tariff “Unlimited for tablet”

    The rates described above are for telephone. If you need unlimited Internet for a tablet, then Beeline has an offer specifically for these devices. provides mobile Internet without traffic quota and speed restrictions. Distinctive feature tariff plan is that it is not characterized by protocol restrictions. That is, when downloading files from file-sharing networks (torrents), the Internet speed will not change. So far, this is the only tariff with unlimited Internet that does not have a restriction on downloading file-sharing networks. However, this is where its advantages end.

    The subscription fee for the tariff is 890 rubles. per month (Moscow and Moscow region). Packages of minutes and SMS are completely absent. In fact, you only pay for unlimited Internet. Moreover, by default The tariff does not provide the ability to make calls or send messages at all. Activation of voice communications and SMS messaging services is possible only upon concluding a written contract for the provision of mobile radiotelephone services. The conclusion of an agreement is possible at any Beeline sales office.

    As for the disadvantages, everything here is similar to the tariffs described earlier, with the exception of the absence of restrictions on torrents. It is worth adding that on the “Unlimited for Tablet” tariff plan there are “Highway” options, as well as promotions and others bonus programs, which give discounts on Internet traffic, are not available for connection. Another disadvantage is that despite the high subscription fee, the tariff does not include communication service packages.

    Unlimited Internet on MTS

    MTS provides subscribers with only one tariff plan with unlimited Internet without speed limits and traffic quotas. This does not mean that MTS lags behind Beeline in terms of unlimited Internet. MTS does not have a separate tariff for a tablet or a tariff plan with a postpaid payment system. Available not only on phones, but also on tablets. As for the use of the tariff in the modem, there is also a limitation in this regard. But “Smart Unlimited” does not provide for restrictions on distributing the Internet via Wi-Fi and using the phone as a modem. By removing this limitation, MTS stood out favorably against other operators. However, there are some pitfalls here too.

    The “Smart Unlimited” tariff includes:

    • Unlimited Internet without speed limits and traffic quotas;
    • Unlimited calls to MTS numbers throughout Russia;
    • 200 minutes to numbers of all networks in your region;
    • 200 SMS messages to numbers of all networks in your region.

    Packages of minutes and SMS are small. Few people worry about SMS, but there may not be enough minutes and then you will have to pay extra. Calls to MTS Russia numbers are also included in the 200-minute package. Only after the package is exhausted, calls to MTS outside your home region become free, but you will have to pay for calls to mobile operators of other operators in your home region. As you can see, everything here is very confusing and tricky. There are also quite a lot of tricks regarding the Internet. The subscription fee in most regions is 12.90 rubles. per day. Subscribers in Moscow and the Moscow region pay 12.90 rubles for the first month. per day, and from the second month 19 rubles per day.

    Of course, the Smart Unlimited tariff has its drawbacks, and there are quite a lot of them. The most unpleasant thing is that the list of shortcomings regularly increases. This is not because we did not identify them in a timely manner. The fact is that since the time of MTS, tariff conditions have been changing and a similar phenomenon is typical for all operators. Below is a list of shortcomings that are relevant today.

    Disadvantages of the “Smart Unlimited” tariff:

    1. A SIM card with the “Smart Unlimited” tariff connected cannot be used in a modem or router. Is it possible to bypass this limitation? Yes, it is possible, but it is not easy to do. We have already written about that.
    2. The “Smart Unlimited” tariff is characterized by a restriction on downloading from file-sharing networks (torrents). If you try, these restrictions can be circumvented.
    3. The document with a detailed description of the tariff indicates that it is possible to limit the speed of Internet access in case of heavy load on the network. All operators providing tariffs with unlimited Internet insure themselves with this review.

    We have devoted a whole series of articles to this tariff plan. If you believe the reviews of visitors, then the tariff has a lot of disadvantages. However, we believe that this is relevant for all operators. It is hardly worth counting on the fact that mobile Internet without any restrictions will ever appear again.

    Unlimited Internet on MegaFon

    MegaFon does not have a separate tariff plan with unlimited Internet without speed limits and traffic quotas, but it does have a special “MegaUnlimited” option. Access option for connection on “All inclusive” tariffs. As with other tariffs, the MegaUnlimit option provides for a number of restrictions. The subscription fee depends on the region and tariff plan.

    As an example, we present data relevant for Moscow and the region. So, on the “MegaFon - All Inclusive L, XL” tariffs within the “MegaUnlimit” option it will cost 5 rubles per day. If you use the “MegaFon - All Inclusive M” or “Warm Welcome M” tariffs, then the daily fee will be 7 rubles. For tariff plans line “MegaFon - All Inclusive S” and “Warm Welcome S” the price is set at 9 rubles. If you have the MegaFon All Inclusive VIP tariff activated, then the MegaUnlimited option will be provided to you free of charge.

    Features of the “MegaUnlimit” option:

    • The option is only available on phones, smartphones and tablets. You cannot use the option in a modem or router.
    • The use of torrent resources and wi-fi tethering is limited. That is, when you try to download a file through a torrent client, the speed will drop to an extremely low value. Distributing the Internet via Wi-Fi will also not work.
    • The option only applies within your home region.
    • The option is available for connection to subscribers in all regions except Taimyr MR, Norilsk, Magadan Region, Kamchatka Territory, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.

    Many will think that MegaFon lags behind its competitors in terms of unlimited Internet, but in fact this is not the case. Unlimited Internet without speed or traffic restrictions has long been provided by MegaFon's subsidiary Yota. If you want to activate the “MegaUnlimit” option, dial the command * 105 * 1153 # on your phone or send a blank SMS to 05001153.

    Unlimited Internet from Yota

    Yota offers quite attractive tariff conditions with unlimited mobile Internet. Many people believe that this operator has too small a coverage area and is available only in large regions of the country. In fact Yota services available wherever MegaFon has a connection, and this is a very impressive coverage area.

    Provides very flexible tinctures. That is, you have the opportunity to independently choose the maximum Internet speed and cost. Yota does not have tariffs similar to those offered by MTS or Beeline. This operator offers to choose the Internet for specific device(phone, tablet, modem). First you need to decide on the device on which you will use the Internet, and then you yourself determine the optimal conditions for yourself.

    Yota tariff for smartphones

    The tariff for smartphones includes unlimited calls within the network and unlimited Internet. You set the package of minutes for calls to numbers of other operators yourself. The minimum tariff cost is 230 rubles per month. For this money you get:

    • Unlimited Internet (there are a number of restrictions, see below);
    • Unlimited calls to Yota numbers throughout Russia;
    • Unlimited SMS (per additional fee 50 rubles);
    • 100 minutes to numbers of other Russian operators.
    • If 100 minutes is not enough for you, you can increase the package to 300, 600, 900 or 1200 minutes. The larger the package of minutes, the more expensive the tariff.

    Unlimited Internet Yota designed for smartphone. If you need Internet for a tablet or modem, connect to tariffs specifically designed for these devices. You cannot use your smartphone as a modem or hotspot WI-FI access. No one will block you for these actions, the Internet speed will simply be limited to 128 Kbps. You can also forget about using file-sharing networks, since the speed will be limited to 32 Kbps.

    Yota tariff for tablet

    If you need unlimited Internet for your tablet, then Yota has it special offer and for such cases. The tablet tariff provides mobile Internet without speed limits and traffic quotas. You have the opportunity to independently determine the period of Internet access. Internet for a day will cost you 50 rubles, for a month you will have to pay 590 rubles, and a year of high-speed Internet will cost 4,500 rubles. The prices are relevant for Moscow and the Moscow region; in other regions the subscription fee will be lower.

    The tariff plan is valid throughout Russia. Packages of minutes and SMS are not provided within this tariff. The cost of outgoing calls within Russia to all numbers is 3.9 rubles. in a minute. A similar cost is set for outgoing SMS.

    Of course, this was not entirely without restrictions. The Yota tariff includes a number of restrictions that make it less attractive.

    The tariff is subject to the following restrictions:

    1. Unlimited Internet is provided for use on tablets only;
    2. When using a SIM card in modems or routers, the speed is limited to 64 Kbps;
    3. Downloading/distributing files in torrents is subject to a speed limit of up to 32 kbps;
    4. When distributing the Internet via WI-FI or using the tablet in modem mode, the speed is limited to 128 Kbps;
    5. When staying in Crimea and Sevastopol, special tariff conditions apply. For example, the cost of Internet is 9 rubles. for every 100 KB.

    Yota tariff for modem

    Today, only the Yota operator has unlimited Internet for a modem without speed limits and traffic quotas. The modem tariff also has flexible settings. You can choose between price and speed. If you need unlimited mobile internet on maximum speed, then the subscription fee will be 1,400 rubles per month (Moscow and Moscow region). If this is too expensive for you, you can reduce the subscription fee by reducing the Internet speed. For example, Internet at a speed of 1 Mbit/s will cost 600 rubles per month. You can also connect to unlimited Internet for a day for 150 rubles or even for 2 hours for 50 rubles.

    As for restrictions, there are none. You can use the tariff in a modem or router, distributing the Internet via Wi-Fi. We did not find any information about restrictions on downloading from file-sharing networks. So far this is the only tariff with unlimited mobile Internet that can be used in a modem or router. MTS and Beeline have long closed such tariffs and options for connection. In general, we can say that Yota is a good operator for the Internet, and if you fall within the coverage area of this operator, then you definitely need to study its offers in detail.

    Best offer

    It is unlikely that anyone will be able to answer you which operator provides the best tariff with unlimited Internet. It all depends on preference specific person, and therefore opinions will differ. If you have read the entire review, then you already have an understanding that all proposals have shortcomings. Unfortunately, for real great deals have long been unavailable for connection.

    Previously, unlimited Internet was provided without restrictions by Beeline, MTS and MegaFon, but over time the load on the network increased and operators considered such offers not profitable for themselves. No matter what they tell us, every operator always thinks first of all about profit, but not about the benefit of subscribers. All current tariffs with unlimited Internet are far from ideal, but we have no choice but to choose from what is available.

    We tested all the tariffs listed in the article, but we will not impose anything specific on you, since there really is no better guess. You must choose the best option for yourself depending on your own preferences.

    I have a very old hobby, more like a hobby. Cellular connection. In all its manifestations. All my friends and acquaintances know about this, and they often ask for help with one or another issue on this topic. Choosing an operator, tariff, phone, asking to deal with extra or strange debits from the balance personal account and much more - there are always questions and requests. As a rule, I never refuse, because the topic of cellular communications has long grown, has become very voluminous, and understanding it right away or even after several timid attempts to “enter” the topic is not easy, and often simply impossible. Too many nuances, different “buts”, descriptions small print, asterisks and footnotes in descriptions, and so on and so forth. Over the years, the flow of requests has decreased, many have begun to approach communication issues more simply, but nevertheless, different situations occur. And by the way, there are still people who, when asked “what telecom operator do you have” or “what is your tariff,” answer Nokia (or Samsung, Alcatel, etc.). Funny but true. I’m unlikely to be able to globally change anything here, but I can help you figure it out. And I want to start with the simplest comparison of operators, who is conditionally better/worse, although it would be more correct to approach from the other side: who has what strengths and weaknesses, what tariffs are available, and how to choose the best tariff for yourself. There is no ideal in life, and there is no ideal operator, but in order to avoid disappointment, it is important to do right choice. Everything is like in life. =)

    So. Let me remind you that we are talking about the Moscow region. I’ll make a reservation right away that I will compare mass operators, MTS, Beeline, Megafon. And I’ll also add here a young Tele2 operator. Why? More on this below. I’ll make a reservation right away that I’m not comparing Yota and Skylink. The reasons are simple: Yota is a niche operator, whose clients, as a rule, have a great idea of what they need, and it is Yota who gives it to them. Yota's advantage is unlimited Internet, which mass operators do not provide. True, there are various reservations and small details, but we are not interested in them yet, since the mass user, especially middle-aged and older people, rarely require unlimited Internet; voice communication is much more important to them. Iota also has it, by the way. Why don’t I compare Skylink? Because, firstly, this operator is “even more niche” than Yota, and, secondly, Skylink is close to closing. There are a number of other reasons, including the features of the communication standard that Skylink uses, the antediluvian phones that the operator sells (or, more accurately, sold), and much more. In a word, we will not consider these operators. The ones we have are quite enough for us.

    So. MTS, Beeline, Megafon, Tele 2. What do we all want from cellular communications? Right. Prices should be lower, quality should be higher, and it should catch everywhere. First, let's look at these points. Does this even happen? Of course not. We must be aware that the price cannot be lower and the quality cannot be higher. If only because to ensure that same quality, financial opportunities are needed, and those very prices provide them. And the money that we pay to the operators. That is why communication cannot cost zero or mere pennies. Otherwise, we simply will not have this very connection. Do not forget that a cellular operator is a huge “organism”, which includes enormous technical and human resources, and maintaining the functionality of this organism requires considerable funds. As well as what is called “catches everywhere”. In order to catch everywhere, you need to install more base stations (hereinafter referred to as BS), and they cost a lot of money, both purchase, installation, and further maintenance. And with all this, no operator can provide or guarantee constant 100% coverage and performance. This is a priori impossible. There are force majeure, natural disasters, accidents, and much more. So, be sober and philosophical about cellular communications, you will save yourself a lot of nerve cells. There is no such thing as “taking it everywhere.” Therefore, dual-SIM devices are a salvation, and you can live for an indefinitely long time. If not always. Now about “quality”. Why in quotes? But because everyone has their own concept of “quality”, their own vision and understanding of this word. But regardless of views, if we take a certain average concept, then many mean by quality the clarity and intelligibility of what we hear in the voice dynamics of the phone. That is, human speech. For many people, the volume of speech transmission matters. So, this very “quality” depends on many small and not so small details. Starting from the phone itself, and ending with the settings of the cellular network itself in this place. And if we can influence the volume of the telephone speaker in any way, then, alas, we cannot influence the cellular network. And you need to understand that this very quality strongly depends not only on the network settings, but also on the load on the base station on which your phone “sits”, on the time of day, on the communication standard that this “provides” base station, and which standard your phone has chosen. Yes, yes, and your phone can also select “quality.” =))) But in my opinion, it’s easiest to talk about prices. The operator sets prices that it considers acceptable both for itself and for the subscriber. You have the right to agree with him (the operator) or not. That's all, actually.

    Now, let's briefly go over the coverage, or coverage area cellular networks. On the operator's websites you can find maps (diagrams) of coverage areas. Outwardly, everything looks very rosy, and just evokes peace. Everywhere you look, there is a connection, or rather “drawn”. This is where the main discrepancy lies, the discrepancy with reality. No one can guarantee you a connection at a single point, even if it is “drawn” there that it is. It often happens that it is drawn, but it is not, but it also happens the other way around: it is not drawn, but it is there. A pleasant surprise. Also, don’t forget that the terrain changes one way or another, and in cities it changes even more so, new buildings there, buildings and so on. Therefore, the main thing that needs to be understood and accepted as an axiom is that there is no one hundred percent connection and there never will be. You can’t count on her one hundred percent. Because it's unpredictable. Of course, serious problems are rare, but they do happen. So, buy dual-SIM devices, and your chances of avoiding holes in the coverage and being left without a connection will increase dramatically.

    Tariffs. This is probably the main stumbling block, the basis of many claims, the agony of choice, and so on. I think that it would probably be better to make a separate article on tariffs, although the relevance of tariffs is constantly changing, operators do not sit still. New tariffs are being released and old ones are being modernized. Unfortunately, lately Tariffs are generally getting more expensive. However, what I want to note... Once upon a time, in the late 90s, early 2000s, people clearly divided operators: Moscow Cellular (communication standard NMT-450) was mainly used by people with sufficient income, so like Sonet (can anyone remember?), MTS and Beeline did not have proper coverage and development at that time and were not considered “cool”; Megafon was completely absent in Moscow at that time. After some time, a lot has changed. It became cool to have MTS, it was considered the highest quality operator, and in terms of coverage too. But the cost was appropriate. Beeline was catching up, and in due time its legendary “Bi Plus” did its job: communications spread to the masses. The “Bi Plus” kit could be taken in two versions (initially), in the DAMPs standard, and in GSM standard. Prices started at $79 (memory) and it was quite affordable. Personally, I tried more than one set. =))) Then Megafon appeared, which revolutionized the communications market, but this is a topic for another article. So this is what I’m getting at: if we take the last 15 years in communications, of course tariffs have dropped sharply, communications have become more accessible and widespread, which is what should have happened. At the same time, interestingly, the “idols” have changed. Stereotypes are crumbling. The market has changed dramatically. Moscow Cellular is no longer there, and so is Sonnet. MTS today is a very inexpensive operator, but Beeline, on the contrary, will be more expensive. But of course, " average temperature in the hospital" is almost the same, competition is doing its job. And Tele 2, which recently entered the market, has made its own adjustments, forcing operators to reconsider their approach to pricing. It is clear that Tele 2 will sooner or later increase its coverage, and then tariffs will come to the fore. The summary is simple: today any cellular subscriber can easily find a tariff to suit his taste and needs. Operator tariffs are designed for a wide range of users, for different schemes consumption. From tariffs without a monthly fee, to tariffs with a considerable subscription fee, but also including a very rich range of communication services. I will obviously make a separate article on the topic of tariffs, they also have their own nuances, and there is no point in describing them here, here we are just comparing.

    To summarize: today, the cellular communications market in Moscow is quite saturated, the number of operators is optimal, and the choice of tariffs for every taste and budget is huge. Coverage Big Three(Mts, Beeline, Megafon) are comparable, at least in 2G, 3G. There are differences in 4G, and if Internet speed is important to you, then it is better to pay attention to Megafon and Mts. If you just use it voice communication, then plus minus is the same. For Moscow, you can safely take Tele 2. Although even in the region, this young (for Moscow) operator has already developed well, and it will be even better in the future. My personal recommendations: if communication is even a little critical for you, then you simply need a dual-SIM phone (smartphone). Although for greater confidence it is better to have two devices, single-SIM ones are also possible. Still, equipment sometimes breaks down or suddenly dies. Many people do this. They carry two phones, a simple dialer and a smartphone. The best option, both in price and in approach. We will also raise the topic of choosing devices a little later. This is interesting.

    Good luck with your choice and good communication!

    Today we cannot imagine our life without mobile communications, which is an attribute of almost every aspect of it. There are several major telecom providers that provide various types services, and in this article we will help you figure out how to choose the most suitable one among them. How to determine which mobile operator is better? Especially for you, we have compiled a rating of Russian mobile operators.

    The best mobile operators 2018-2019

    The demand for mobile communications is growing every year, and there are 4 large operators that fully satisfy this demand.

    1. MEGAPHONE
    2. BEELINE
    3. Tele2

    Each operator has both its advantages and disadvantages, which we will discuss in more detail in this article.

    The rating of cellular operators is regularly studied by Roskomnadzor, taking into account the opinions of users. Operator Yota, which occupies a significant part of the market, is not included in this rating, since it does not have its own towers and is subsidiary company"Megaphone". Yota rents towers from leading market players, and coverage width suffers as a result. The rating is compiled based on many factors, among the most significant are the following:
    • Mobile connection quality
    • Quality mobile internet
    • Percentage of messages delivered
    • Cost of services
    • Network coverage level.

    To evaluate the quality of services of a particular operator, we will use statistics.

    Cellular connection

    The leading position in this category is occupied by Megafon, whose communication quality tends to be absolute, with only 0.7% of failures throughout the entire network. Second place is occupied by MTS, slightly behind Megafon, with 0.8% of failures. Beeline is a kind of anti-record holder, having as much as 15.1% of failures. At the same time, Tele2, which is relatively young for Russia, has only 1.2% of failures.

    Mobile Internet

    Regarding mobile Internet speed, the difference between operators is more noticeable. Megafon also leads here, providing real speed up to 14 Mbit/s. It is followed by MTS with 10.1 Mbit/s, followed by Tele2 with 9.4 Mbit/s, and Beeline closes the rating line (5 Mbit/s).

    Despite the high speed, Megafon cannot boast good number successful connections via IP/TCP and HTTP, giving 3% failures in the first case and 4.4% in the second. MTS has the largest share of successful connections, with 0.6 and 0.8% failures, respectively. It is worth noting, however, that the Internet speed of each operator varies depending on the region of coverage.

    Instant messages

    Here our leading position is occupied by Beeline, showing results in 100% of delivered messages. Next comes Tele2, with 1.2% of undelivered SMS, Megafon did not deliver 1.7%, and MTS did not deliver 2.4%.

    Coverage level

    In this section, we will only look at 4G coverage, since it is difficult to determine the level of coverage for regular communications, due to the fact that some operators often rent towers from others, and this indicator is difficult to estimate. Let's consider the level of coverage in Moscow and the region - it is in this region that the highest density of 4G towers is found.
    In terms of 4G coverage, Megafon again showed leadership. Experts explain by this that this operator was the earliest to begin installing LTE towers, significantly ahead of its competitors. Megafon's 4G network coverage density has a share of 32.2%. Second place, according to research, is held by MTS with an indicator of 30.9%, closing the top three. Second place in the study was taken by the operator MTS with an indicator of 30.9%, in third place is Beeline with a result of 28.8%.

    Cost of services

    Each operator provides a huge variety of tariffs, we will not analyze all of them, but will only compare general characteristics. The cost of communication tariffs is dynamic; the average price in Russia for a package is 300-350 rubles/month. According to analysts from ComNews Research, when using a small basket (lack of mobile Internet, small number of calls and messages, focus on on-network calls) the most profitable operator became MTS. In other cases, which cover the majority of users (Internet, calls, messages), the best operator in terms of cost of services, both according to expert estimates and user reviews, is the Tele2 provider. The cost of the average package for all operators varies greatly depending on the service region, and in the Far Eastern and northern districts the values are uneven. If we take an assessment of the trends in the central regions, the cost of the average package varies in this order, from the cheapest to the most expensive:

    1. "Tele2"
    2. "Beeline"
    3. "Megaphone"
    4. "MTS"

    As we found out, each cellular provider has its own characteristics, and for this reason, many people use the services of several operators at once. Which one to choose is up to you, and making a choice is important taking into account your region of residence.

    To modern man It’s hard to imagine your everyday life without mobile communications. Day after day we make calls, send SMS messages, surf the Internet and consume content. All this became possible thanks to cellular providers. Actually, some single operator There is no one who would be responsible for access to the Internet: each country will have several of its own popular monopolists.

    On our territory, communications are represented mainly by the companies MTS, Megafon and Beeline. Even if you take a quick look at the statistics of cellular traffic consumption, these three venerable representatives have gone far ahead, leaving behind their more modest competitors.

    Unambiguously answer the question of what mobile communications the most profitable or which of these operators is better is impossible, because each individual subscriber has his own vision about the quality of service and general issues communications.

    Nevertheless, you can get acquainted with the main advantages of each company, as well as with the disadvantages, classifying all this into categories and drawing appropriate conclusions. In general, making the right choice is quite difficult, because each of the providers cannot be perfect in everything. Some have better Internet connections, somewhere the coverage is noticeably wider and better quality, and some companies provide services and tariffs that are attractive specifically for your region. Let's look at each operator in more detail.

    "Megaphone"

    The company confidently holds a leading position in many regions of our country, and in some individual cities the provider was awarded the title “ Best Operator connections." Megafon began its activities back in 1993. During this period, the company gained quite an impressive army of fans. Judging by the statistics, more than 73 million people use the provider’s services (according to the operator itself).

    Company advantages

    Among the main advantages we can note a very large coverage area throughout Russia. Moreover, towers are growing even where communication costs do not cover the invested funds for installation and maintenance of stations, and this clearly indicates that the company is concerned about its customers.

    In addition, the provider tirelessly monitors all advanced technologies related to cellular communications and is the first to introduce various kinds of features. For example, Megafon was the first to provide its customers with the ability to make video calls, and only then other operators picked up this trend.

    Thanks to the availability of modern equipment, the quality of communication for the Internet connection is noticeably better: high speed with an almost uninterrupted flow.

    Operator disadvantages

    As for the shortcomings, the first thing to note is the work help desk. And although this problem is equally relevant for other providers, getting through to the Megafon dispatcher is sometimes so difficult that many clients start looking for alternative ways solving your issue. Moreover, call center specialists often do not have the necessary qualifications to help you and often make mistakes, so getting through to the help desk is not so bad.

    Another problem that also affects other telecom operators, but Megafon has it especially pronounced - complex and confusing tariffs. Year after year, the quality of communication is getting better, but the tariff plans are becoming more and more confusing, which, naturally, is not in the best possible way affects the clientele.

    "Beeline"

    The next extremely popular provider in our territory is Beeline. The company began its activities in the same 1993 and managed to win the love of a huge number of fans. According to statistics from the company itself, the customer base numbers about 60 million subscribers. The reality of these figures is confirmed by independent anti-monopoly observers.

    Pros of the company

    The main advantage of the provider is not only best rates connections, but also varied. The company provides each client with the most best option for one occasion or another. Although the number of tariff plans and services is large, it is quite difficult to get confused in them - everything is simple and clear.

    In addition, the operator distinguished itself by holding numerous promotions and all kinds of tempting offers. And although this point is observed with many providers, Beeline especially distinguished itself.

    The technical support service, unlike Megafon, works quite efficiently and quickly resolves problems with clients. Of course, you will have to wait some time for a specialist to answer your call, but rest assured that your issue will be resolved (within a competent framework).

    Cons

    Still, good and better communication is a priority goal for any provider, but Megafon is a little lame in this regard. You can find quite a few (compared to other operators) negative reviews about the quality of communication: periodic failures, some delays, and sometimes it’s even impossible to check your own balance.

    Moreover, the company distinguished itself with too unfavorable tariffs for long-distance and international communications(roaming). If you are in a neighboring region or, even worse, abroad, then it is best to switch to another operator, otherwise your balance will melt before your eyes.

    Unlike MTS or Megafon, for some reason the company does not seek to serve areas that are not entirely profitable in terms of monetization. That is, outside the city, the provider has far from the best connection, and sometimes even its absence.

    MTS

    The provider began its activities in the same 1993 and operates more than successfully to this day. If we compare MTS with other companies in terms of clientele, then Mobile TeleSystems is clearly in the lead by a large margin - 107 million subscribers for this year.

    Company advantages

    MTS is, without exaggeration, the best connection among other providers. Technically modern and expensive equipment provides customers with high quality cellular communications, both on the street and inside buildings.

    As for tariffs, mobile Internet lovers have plenty to choose from. The operator provides its customers with a lot of offers for smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop PCs, and all this works great in home network and in roaming. Standard rates connections for “just a call” are not much different from those of competitors, so there is nothing to highlight here.

    Flaws

    Among the disadvantages, one can note that the tariffs are not fully balanced in terms of price. Some similar offers from other providers are noticeably cheaper. But keyword there will still be “some”. Better connection- this is, of course, good, but I would like to get it at a reasonable price.

    Well, the problem with all providers is the support service, namely waiting for a response from a specialist. The average time for the operator on the other end to answer is approximately 20 minutes (at night 8-10 minutes), and this is a very long time. Nevertheless, the provider wisely took care of this nuance, giving the client the opportunity to independently manage all of his services or personal account, or through an assistant machine.
