In the next window you need to select the uninstallation mode. There are 4 types of modes in this program: built-in, safe, medium and advanced. We choose advanced, as it performs a deep analysis of the registry, folders and program links. This mode slower than everyone else, be patient. Click “Next”.

The program will analyze and launch built-in program uninstaller, which is built into AIMP. After you have uninstalled the program, you need to click “Next” to search for files, folders and registry entries.

On average, scanning takes approximately 10 to 60 seconds, depending on the amount of information being processed. When scanning is completed, click “Next”.

In the screenshot above, we deleted only branches and settings in the registry, but we delete shortcuts, folders and data on next stage. To delete the data found by the scanner, click “Select all”, so as not to put a checkmark next to each line, click “Delete”, and the last step is “Next”.

The removal procedure is completed, click “Finish”.

It happens that a program is not in the list, but is in the tray or there are pop-up windows for a program that needs to be removed. Especially for such cases, Revo Uninstaller has a “Hunting Mode” function, which often saves me.

Attention! Sometimes when you aim the crosshair at a program to be deleted, it triggers falsely. That is, point at the program that you want to delete, and a message appears that you are about to delete a completely different application or this action is impossible. In this case, you need to try to find other windows to use the hunting mode.

How to work with “Hunting Mode”

To switch to “hunting mode”, you need to click on “Hunting mode” in the program window.

The program window will automatically be minimized and in the right top corner a crosshair will appear on the desktop blue, which you need to point at the program while holding the left mouse button.

They not only remove software elements, but also neutralize their remains in other folders in the system registry.

Let's consider the uninstallation option using the Soft Organizer utility:

    1. Click on the application you want to remove in the software catalog.

    2. Click the “Uninstall a program” button.

    3. Perform a standard uninstall, and then remove the remains of the application (follow the prompts of Soft Organizer).

Happy cleaning! Don't be lazy, your diligence and efforts will pay off handsomely. The computer will work faster, you will spend a minimum of time searching for useful data in the directories of disk partitions.

Before you completely remove a program from your computer, you should know that this is not as easy as it seems.

After all, despite the fact that most games and applications have their own uninstallers, sometimes they do not help with complete removal.

And you have to remove unwanted software manually using built-in Windows tools or special programs.

    Removal without additional software

The most in a simple way delete regular program is to use an uninstaller, which in most cases is installed simultaneously with it.

You can find and launch such a utility through the Start menu in the list of installed software.

You can also find the uninstaller in the directory with the program; its name usually contains parts of the word Uninstall(for example, unins000), and the file type column indicates “Application”.

The method is considered the simplest. However, not all programs have uninstallers - especially since some of them are not displayed in the menu, and you will have to spend some time searching for the corresponding directory on the disk.

Using the Uninstall Programs and Features menu

To use the next option you will have to use the “Control Panel”.

You can find it in the Start menu (in the settings tab for older versions of Windows).

Now you have to go to “Programs and Features” - or “Add or Remove Programs” if we are talking about Windows XP.

Further steps are approximately the same for users of different Windows platforms:

    • Select the program you want to remove.
    • By right-clicking, a menu opens, usually consisting of one item “Delete” (sometimes there is also “Change” in the list).
    • Click “Delete” to start the uninstallation process.
    • Sometimes, as a result, a message appears on the screen indicating that the deletion has already been completed (the program could have been erased along with the formatting of the disk or the directory in which it was located), in other cases the user is given the opportunity to confirm or refuse the deletion.

After clicking “Yes,” the program is either simply removed from the list or uninstalled.

It will take a minimum of time to delete a regular game, system utilities can take up to 10 minutes of user time, depending on the size of the application and hardware performance.

After uninstallation, the program disappears from the list– although this does not always mean that it is completely uninstalled.

    Uninstalling other software

Not all programs that require removal are displayed in the list of installed software.

Sometimes, to completely erase you will have to use the menu for turning Windows OS components on and off.

To do this, just click on the corresponding inscription in the upper left corner of the screen and uncheck the unnecessary programs in the window that opens.

It is even easier to remove software that did not require installation - this includes, for example, old games like GTA 3 or Cossacks.

They do not leave any traces in the registry or system directories and are removed by simply erasing the directory on the disk.

On the other hand, there is usually no need to remove them - on the drives of a modern PC or laptop they take up minimal space and do not change drivers or other programs.

Uninstalling a program in the Registry Editor

When you try to remove a program from your computer, you may encounter its complete absence from the software lists.

You will have to solve the problem by making changes to the registry.

This will take a little more time compared to other methods - however, incorrect user actions can lead to disruption of the system.

Important: before you start editing the registry, you should save it backup copy. From it it will be possible to restore information in which changes were made incorrectly. To save and restore the registry, you can use special programs– for example, Handy Backup.

Having created a copy of the registry, you should open the corresponding sections in turn:

    • First the main one, HKEY LOCAL MACHINE.
    • Then in charge of the software, SOFTWARE.
    • Operating system manufacturer section, MICROSOFT.
    • OS partition – WINDOWS.
    • Installed programs section CURRENT VERSION.
    • Software removal section UNINSTALL.

Now you just need to find the program to be uninstalled, select the line called UninstallString on the right side of the window, double-click on it with the left mouse button and in the window that opens, copy the “Value” parameter through the menu or Ctrl keys+C.

After this, the registry can be closed.

To uninstall a program, open the Start menu and find the search bar.

In Windows 7 it is located at the very bottom, in XP it is called up by clicking on the “Search” inscription.

The address of the file that should be opened to begin the uninstallation process is inserted here (for example, using the Ctrl + V keys).

    • Download and install the program.
    • Launch Ashampoo Uninstaller.
    • Go to the delete tab.
    • Select the application to remove.
    • Check the box next to search for remaining files.
    • Click “Next” and wait for the removal to complete.

The program copes not only with uninstalling software, but also with completely erasing data related to it - text files, libraries and registry elements. The only downside to the utility is the ability to use it for free for 10 days, after which you will have to pay 2,400 rubles.

    Conclusions

There are a lot of ways to remove software from a computer running Windows (however, there are many of them for other operating systems).

By selecting suitable option, you can get rid of extra files, maintaining the functionality of the system and freeing up space for new information.

The best way to get rid of unnecessary software is to use third-party programs, since the built-in Windows utilities have a number of limitations and require more time to uninstall.

Why is the program not removed from the computer?

    Hello!
Quite often, many users are faced with a situation where for some reason they cannot remove a program from their computer. And, of course, for some reason, utilities such as Unlocker, CCleaner, Revo Uninstaller and other similar utilities for uninstalling programs do not help. Therefore, in this article, let's try to figure out what we will do if all the above-mentioned programs did not help us.

All you have to do is force close the program that is using the file. Assuming you already know what program you're using, the file you want to delete, here's how to delete a file. Forced closure is a process that closes the entire program and you may lose unsaved data, and it's good that you know this because you could have any other file based on this program. We recommend saving all your files before starting.

On your desktop, right-click on the taskbar. In the context menu that appears, click “Launch Task Manager”. In the Task Manager window, if you don't already have it, go to the Processes tab. From the list of running jobs, right-click on the one you know is using the file you want to delete.

Many users, if they fail to remove any program from their computer, even try to reinstall the operating system when it comes to their favorite game. Trust me, in most cases this is not necessary. By the way, it’s also about the accumulation of garbage in Windows, because the remains of the program are somewhere and take up space on the hard drive. All this is quite unpleasant and of course I want to know where exactly the remaining program files are located.

In the context menu, click "End Process" or "End Process Tree". In the confirmation window that opens, click the “Disable process” button at the bottom. Once the process is completed with force, you can easily delete the file as it is no longer used until the process is done again.

In some cases, you must quickly delete a file after you have forced it to close. This is because some processes are stubborn and although they forcefully terminate them, they automatically restart after a few seconds. However, if the file is being used by any system process, a high privileged command prompt must be initialized. Command line High Privilege is a command window that has full administrative rights and all administrative tasks can be performed using commands in its interface.

This problem occurs because, for some reason, the connection between the program and its keys in the registry is broken. There are many reasons for this, ranging from incorrect user actions and errors in the program itself. We will not dwell on this. To solve such problems, we will need to manually make changes to the registry, and our program will be completely removed. Now let's figure out how to do this.

Do a right-click combination on the folder. This method does not allow you to open a window with high privilege commands. In the previous command, you must replace the file name with the extension you want to remove. Make sure it is connected to the Internet. Open any web browser of your choice and your favorite search engine.

After that, find the file that you want to delete but is in use. Right-click the file. In the View interface, from the list of available files, click to select what you want to unlock. At the bottom of the interface, click "Unlock" to unlock the file while leaving the corresponding application open. Alternatively, you can also click the "Remove Process" button to forcefully terminate the job that is responsible for saving the file.

Attention! Perform all operations in the registry very carefully!

Go to the registry: Start -> Run -> enter the command: regedit. Next, go to the section: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Uninstall. This is where large number registry keys responsible for each program. Find the key that matches the name of your program, delete it, and then you can reinstall the program again. If you are afraid to do this or you haven’t found the name of your program at all, read on.

How to recover a file if it is sometimes deleted

Once the file is unlocked, you can right-click the file and select Delete from the context menu. Although the file was forcibly unlocked using one of the specified methods, it is moved to the Recycle Bin when deleted. However, recovering a file from the trash bin is simple. This is what you need to do.

Once in the Recycle Bin, right-click on the file you want to restore. In the context menu, click "Restore". If the file has been deleted permanently, you will need effective file recovery software such as File Recovery and File Backup. Even though the above tricks work almost every time, you should be careful when deleting any files that are in use. Removal wrong file may have consequences such as permanent or temporary system failure or loss of data.

Let's look at an example of uninstalling the computer game Call of Duty 4. As for this game, it can be uninstalled through the “Add or Remove Programs” menu in the Control Panel. However, if you experience difficulties with this type of removal, then it is better to use a special uninstaller that removes the game, which should be located on installation disk along with the game. If there is such a disk, insert it into the drive, launch it and see the “Delete” option, click it and the game will be deleted. After this, we can install the game on our computer again. If you do not have such a disk, then we try the first method - deleting it through the Control Panel or read further.

Let's look at another example in which the LoviVkontakte program could not be installed due to incorrect uninstallation.

Now delete all files related to the program from your computer, starting with its personal folder, located in the Program Files folder. After this, restart your computer, and if the program is not uninstalled and cannot be installed again, you will have to delete its entries in the registry.

Go to the registry, Start -> Run -> command: regedit. Attention, you need to make changes in the registry with knowledge of the matter. If you are not confident in yourself, then before work you can make a backup copy of the registry.

Find the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Uninstall parameter in the registry. There are registry keys responsible for uninstalling all programs. We find the key corresponding to the name of your program; if the name of your program is not here, then use “Search”, as shown in the figure. Enter the name of our program that we want to remove and click “Find”.

It is advisable to view the entire registry or branches of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section (contains information about hardware and software) and the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software section, where all information about installed applications is located.

And so... What else can you do if you have problems uninstalling programs?

    • Try visiting the program manufacturer's website. There is a high probability that a special uninstaller is available for download there, for example, on the website of the Nero program, which is not so easy to uninstall, there is such a utility.
    • If you uninstall a computer game or program without success, the uninstaller may be on the installation disk. You just need to run it and you will see the “Delete” item. If you don’t have such a disk, then read on.
    • In particular difficult cases, You will have to log into your operating system in “Safe Mode”. Only in this mode will it be possible to disable the service and delete all remaining files and registry keys from your uninstalled program.
    • Sometimes it happens that you cannot delete program files even in " Safe Mode" In this case, you need to rename them and, after restarting the PC, delete them.
    • It is worth trying to reinstall the program, and then it will be successfully removed.

Now, for clarity, let's return again to our previously mentioned computer game Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and try to uninstall and reinstall it.

    • In the game Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, go to the “Add or Remove Programs” menu and click uninstall. If the toy is not removed and an error appears, then read on.

    • Go to the personal folder of the computer toy, Activision -> Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare - Modern Warfare. It is located where we installed it, usually the C:\Program Files\ drive. And of course we don’t find any uninstaller to remove the game there.
    • Next, insert the game disc into the drive, launch it and see the “Delete” option, click and delete, and only then install the game again.
    • If you don’t have such a disk and don’t have an uninstaller either, then in this case you will have to delete your personal game folder at C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare. Next, through “Search” we look for all the files of our game on the entire hard drive. Also in the “My Documents” folder you can find a folder with the saves of this game; don’t forget to delete it either.

Next, we go into the registry and work carefully, not deleting anything unnecessary. It's best to back up the registry first, and it's best to back up the entire partition on which you have installed operating system, for example using Acronis programs. Then in the registry we go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows ->CurrentVersion -> Uninstall branch, here are the registry keys responsible for each program. If the name of our game is not here, then use the search; enter the name of our program and click “Find”.

After the program search will find all the keys to the program, delete them.

You can also view the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE branch in the registry, which contains information about the software, and the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software branch, which contains information about installed applications. If you find keys with the name of your game or program there, delete them, then reboot, and then install the game or program again.

That's all! This is how it takes a long and “tedious” time to remove those programs that do not want to be removed from your computer using conventional means and methods. But now you will know how all this is done. Bye everyone! Good luck!

Hello, dear blog visitors. In this note, I decided to tell you how to remove a program. We will talk about in an unusual way uninstalling programs. We'll talk about uninstalling programs, manual method.

This method may be useful to you if you are trying to uninstall a program standard method(using the "Uninstall a Program Wizard"), but the program is not removed. This happens, in these cases also, it can help this method. Let's get started.

Before you start removing the program manually, I advise you to try to remove the program using the standard method. Have you tried it yet? Then, let's start removing it manually.

    Preparing to uninstall the program

First, you need to find out where the program is installed on your disk. To do this, you need to find the program shortcut. The shortcut that launches the program. It can be: on the desktop, in the menu quick launch or in the All Programs panel in the Start menu. Basically, you need to find this shortcut.

Once you find the shortcut. You need to right-click on it and select “properties”.

After the shortcut properties appear, select the “shortcut” tab. This bookmark is usually the first one to open (by default). Now, look at the “object:” item. This paragraph indicates the path to the installed program, this is what we need. Place the mouse cursor in the path column and left-click. Now, your cursor is in the path column. Press the key combination “ctrl+a” to select, and “ctrl+c” to copy the path.

More easy method There will be a button press: “File location”. That is, after you clicked “Properties”, click: “File location”. The only drawback is that the program folder does not always open; in the properties of some programs it opens shared folder: "Program Files".

Now you have a path. Open any folder on your computer. At the very top you see the path line, shown in the screenshot.

Place an arrow in this line and click with the left mouse button. The path is blue, press the key combination “ctrl+v” in order to paste your copied path. Pay attention! Usually, the path we copied ends with a file with the “exe” extension, so you need to remove this part from the path. The screenshot shows what to delete (Usually this is the name of the program and the extension “EXE”. Example: “Skype.exe”).

Also, make sure that there are no quotes at the beginning and at the end; if there are, they should also be removed. The screenshot shows the path as it should look. After you have corrected the path, press the Enter key.

Explorer forwarded you to the folder with the program you need. Now, you need to do the following:

In the path bar, you see the name different folders. Click on the one that comes before the folder with your program.

I know it sounds confusing, but it's actually simple. In the screenshot I showed what should happen. The point is that you need to see the folder with the desired program closed, that is, not to be in it, but to see it closed. The screenshot shows.

    We delete the program.

We have all found the folder with our program, now we can delete it. In order to delete, you need to select it once and left-click on the folder with the program. After that, press the key combination “Shift+Delete”. This action deletes the folder with all the program files, that is, the program.

That's it, the program has been deleted. But keep in mind that you deleted the program, but it remained registered in the registry. You need to clean the registry. You will learn how to clean the registry in this post:

This is where I will end this note. If you don't understand something, you can watch the video below. There I showed the process of manually uninstalling a program.
