• What you need to know about iPhone 7 settings. Useful additional settings. D Touch works with Control Center shortcuts too

Looking at the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, you might think that there are very few changes compared to their predecessors, but in fact this is not the case. In the new generation of smartphones of the company Apple has already you can configure the touch “Home” button, appeared portrait mode in the 5.5-inch iPhone model and much more.

We have prepared 10 of the most useful tips for owners of the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and we’ll also tell you about some secrets that you probably didn’t know about.

    1. Setting up the Home button

As you already know, the “Home” button is no longer pressed in the usual way. Apple has decided to abandon the mechanical button in favor of a touch button that recognizes touches. Thanks to Taptic Engine technology, the user feels feedback that simulates pressing.

Cupertino has provided the ability to customize the level of tactile response, you can choose the most suitable one for you. Open Settings, go to General, and then select Home Button from the list. There you will see three different levels feedback, try each one and choose the one that suits you best.

    2. Turn your keyboard into a trackpad

This is not new feature in the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, but it has become noticeably more convenient thanks to the capabilities of 3D Touch technology. Regular way, where you tap on a word with your finger to correct a mistake or highlight it, is not very reliable or accurate. Sometimes it's difficult to place the cursor exactly where you want it, and even seeing it isn't always easy because your finger is covering the screen.

There is another, more advanced way that will make you crazy. Just press harder on the keyboard to activate the 3D Touch capabilities, and then you'll see the letters hiding. This turns the keyboard into a trackpad, just like on a MacBook.

Slide your finger across the keyboard surface to move the cursor on the screen. To highlight the right word press your finger even harder, and if you need to select the entire sentence, then you need to press twice.

    3. How to disable vibration feedback

On iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, vibration feedback works by default in many system applications. For example, while dialing a number or choosing the time when you want to set the alarm. As it turns out, this is annoying for many users, and if you are one of them, then you will be interested in knowing how to disable this feature.

Open the settings application, find the “Sounds and response” item, scroll to the very bottom, where you will see the corresponding vibration response switch in the smartphone system. Turn the switch to the off position to get rid of unpleasant or unnecessary vibration.

    4. Clear all notifications at once

The notification center in iOS 10 has become much more convenient, but only iPhone owners 6S and iPhone 7 can experience all the benefits of this version of the operating system. On older versions iOS users I had to clear notifications one at a time every day by pressing the “Clear” button (X).

But with the advent of 3D Touch technology on new iPhone devices 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, you can remove all received notifications from applications with one click. We talked about this in detail, so follow the link.

    5. Quickly switch between applications

Each iOS device user can switch between recently running applications by double-clicking the Home button, but users of smartphones with 3D Touch support can do this much faster.

You can press your finger to the left edge of the screen near the frame to open the multitasking interface, where all the running programs. But if you swipe right instead of holding your finger, the app you were running before will open. (Keep in mind that you need to wait for 3D Touch to respond, otherwise you will be returned to previous page).

    6. Portrait mode on iPhone 7 Plus

Apple iPhone 7 Plus has a main camera with two lenses: one of them has a focal length of 28 mm, while the other has a focal length of 56 mm. This allows the smartphone to zoom in on objects with less loss of quality than any other digital zoom device. And if your phablet is running iOS 10 beta, then you can take impressive portrait photos with a blurred background (bokeh effect).

Once Apple gets this feature stable and accurate, it will release an update that will add portrait mode to the camera app.

    7. Touch unlock

In iOS 10 on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the user has to press the Home button to unlock the screen, instead of touching it as before. Many complained that this unlocking method is far from ideal. Luckily, you can get everything back to normal by changing your phone settings.

To do this, open the “Settings” application, go to the “General” section, and then to “Accessibility”. Find the “Open with finger” option in the “Home” menu and activate it.

    8. Disable the “Raise to Activate” function

We think the Raise to Activate feature is one of the most useful new features in iOS 10 on iPhone 7, as it allows the display to automatically light up when the user lifts the phone. But perhaps you prefer to wake up your device yourself? In this case, we will show you how to disable this feature. Open Settings again, go to “Display & Brightness” and then find the “Raise to Wake” option here and turn it off.

    9. Disable new effects in the Messages app

Another major innovation in latest version iOS are new effects in the Messages app, thanks to which you can send beautiful messages to your friends. But the good news is that if you don't like them, you can always turn them off. Your messages will not be accompanied by various effects, which, for example, can have a positive impact on the autonomy of the mobile device.

It's still simple: go to the General section of your iPhone's settings, then select Accessibility and turn on the Reduce Motion option. This will also affect the amount of moving effects in other areas of the system.

    10. Shortcuts in the Control Center

3D Touch technology opens up the user experience iPhone row convenient shortcuts in the Control Center. The panel with switches can be raised by swiping up from the very bottom edge of the display. It still provides users with quick access to the most frequently used functions such as the flashlight, timer, calculator and camera. But in iOS 10, 3D Touch technology brings many additional features.

For example, you can choose the brightness level of a flashlight by pressing its switch a little harder. If you also click on the camera icon, you can immediately select the shooting mode before launching it.

Apple smartphones are some of the easiest to use, but many users use only the most basic features. If you just (thanks to Santa Claus!) got a new iPhone, this guide will help you figure it out and use your smartphone to its fullest.

    First start
So, we unpacked the box, inserted the SIM card (into a special “sled” that slides out from the side using the i-hardware supplied with the device), turned on the device, saw the inscription “iPhone” and the arrow, pulling which you will unlock the screen. The first step is to select the language with which you prefer to use the device, the country, and allow the smartphone to use location data. You can refuse geopositioning, but then it will be impossible, in particular, to use navigation in mapping applications.

To set up a new iPhone, you need to either connect your smartphone to a computer running , or simply connect to any available network Wi-Fi. iPhone will be sent to Apple data about the first launch, after which you will be asked to configure it using data from the previous device (they are saved on your computer in iTunes or on Apple servers in the iCloud cloud), or as a new one.

If you have not used Apple services or devices before, you will need to create a AppleID- identifier associated with your address email, which allows you to download applications, music and movies in iTunes store, use iCloud and others Apple services. For full use (for example, purchasing applications and videos), you will need to enter information about bank card. But if you are ready to make do with free programs, you don’t have to enter your credit card information.

When registering as an Apple ID, any email address will do. You should be especially careful when choosing a password. It won’t be possible to make it too simple - the system simply won’t accept enough strong password. But you shouldn’t choose a sequence of characters that is too complicated to enter - the iPhone will prompt you for it quite often, at least every time you download a new application.

All that remains is to accept the iOS user agreement - that’s what it’s called operating system iPhone, iPad and players iPod touch, refuse to send information about the use of the device to Apple (this way you will save traffic). In addition, you have to choose whether to use the cloud iCloud storage, and the iPhone is ready to go.

    Interface
The first thing you see after unlocking the device is the home screen with icons of standard applications - mail, browser, calendar, phone, etc. They can be swapped or moved to subsequent screens, but cannot be deleted (unlike applications downloaded from the store). To enter editing mode, just hold your finger on the icon for a second and a half. It makes sense to move the applications that you will use most often to the bottom row, which is displayed on each screen.

To get to the home screen at any time, just press the home button below it. If you swipe from left to right or press the home button while on the home screen, the search screen appears. By entering a query into the search bar, you can search through the entire contents of your smartphone, find applications, songs, movies, etc. At the very bottom of the list of options offered during the process of entering a request, there are items for searching on the Web or on Wikipedia.

An important element of the iPhone interface is the notification panel, which appears when you swipe from the top edge of the screen. In its upper part widgets are grouped - small panels with brief information about the weather, stock prices, and a widget for quickly sending status to Twitter or Facebook. The weather will certainly come in handy, but the other two can be easily hidden by going to Settings (the icon with gray gears) to the Notification Center item and choosing which widgets to display.

The main function of the Notification Center is to collect all notifications from various programs. Once there, you can view all unread emails, Twitter mentions, Instagram likes, messages, etc.

    Communications
A smartphone is also a tool for communication. iPhone allows you to communicate on the go not only using traditional calls or SMS, but also via email, social networks and free Internet instant messengers. Setting up an email account is as simple as possible - in most cases, you just need to enter your username and password. Staff mail client most convenient for working with iCloud email accounts and Microsoft Exchange, which has become a corporate standard in many companies. If you set up mail iPhone client to work with such accounts ("Settings" > "Mail, addresses, calendars"), messages will be delivered to the smartphone instantly using Push technology.

For other “mails” - Gmail, Mail.Ru, Yandex.Mail, etc. - it is preferable to install the official client application. The built-in client, when working with such an account, will only be able to check the mail for new receipts every 15 minutes, no more often, but the application from the creators postal service will notify you of a new letter immediately.

The year before last, Apple introduced its own exchange service instant messages via the Network - iMessage. It allows you to exchange messages with owners of other Apple devices over the Internet, and even more conveniently than regular SMS - you will see when your message was delivered, when it was read, and also when the recipient began typing a response. To enable iMessage, you need to go to Settings > Messages. You will need to register your phone number or email address to use the system. It can take up to several hours for your new account to activate, so you may need to be patient.

Russian users, however, would be better suited For this purpose, the VKontakte messenger is used - accounts on this social network are much more widespread in Russia than Apple smart devices. With the help official application"VK Messages" can also correspond with those friends who use smartphones or tablets on other platforms, or just sit at home at the computer. Those who still use ICQ should not worry - there is a high-quality official client for this messaging system that was popular in the past. You can also install the multi-platform WhatsApp messenger, which is available on almost all modern and many outdated smartphone platforms.

If you still want to send full-fledged SMS for free, you can download programs such as, for example, SMS Center. The application allows you to send 30 messages per month for free, to any phone number. If you exceed this limit, you will have to pay extra for additional package(such SMS are still many times cheaper than from a telecom operator).

Finally, apple phone allows you to make voice and video calls over the Internet, bypassing the cellular operator’s network and saving significantly - for this you can install Skype or use Apple’s own development, FaceTime. In the latter case, you will only be able to call other Apple devices.

Many phones now have tariffs with unlimited Internet, so making a call over the network will cost much less than usual, especially if the phone is connected to Wi-Fi. You can also call regular numbers via Skype. telephone numbers, however, you will have to pay for this service (usually less than for the same call at your operator’s tariffs, and if in roaming and via Wi-Fi, then tens of times less).

    Music, video
It is believed that iOS is a very “closed” system. Really, direct access to files and folders on mobile Apple devices never happened, no (unless you jailbreak, of course) and most likely never will. If on an Android smartphone or handset with Windows Phone You can copy any file (song, application, movie, photo, etc.) from your computer directly, like to a regular flash drive, but with an iPhone this number will not work.

One of the main functions of smartphones is playing music and videos. There are several ways to download content to iPhone. The most traditional way is to connect it to the computer with a cable and download it from the iTunes program library (where it must first be added). You can also upload movies in the same way, but only files with the extensions .mp4, .m4v or .mov will be played. The usual .avi or .mkv will have to be converted, or a special player installed that supports their playback. Most popular app this kind is AVPlayer. Although you won't be able to bypass iTunes, at least you will be spared the hassle of converting videos. However, where the majority of Russian users download films and TV series, there is also a tendency to switch to .mp4 files; most likely, in a couple of years it will become predominant.

But there are other options. First of all (please don't laugh) you can now buy music and movies directly from your iPhone in the iTunes store. Secondly, by subscribing to the iTunes Match service (about 800 rubles per year), you can create a copy of your music collection from your computer on Apple servers and listen to all your music streaming from the Internet, or download it from there to your iPhone for offline listening.

Thirdly, you can use various cloud services. If you have a VKontakte account, using the official client application for iOS, you can listen to music directly from there - from your selection of audio recordings, from the collections of friends, or simply by finding the songs you need by searching. There is also “Yandex.Music” - the service allows you to listen to and download any amount of music to your iPhone for 100 rubles a month. If you don’t want to pay, the application can also play music saved in the Yandex.Disk cloud storage. For a small music collection, the 10 gigabytes provided there are enough. Finally, no one bothers you to upload music to Dropbox and listen directly from there, although this is (for now) not very convenient.

To watch movies online, in addition to VKontakte, there are online cinemas, the most popular of which on iOS are Play and ivi.ru. The range of films there is not dizzyingly rich, but the most popular films of recent years are presented.

    Working with data
Some people don’t immediately understand how to remove iPhone unnecessary song, message or SMS. To delete an object, you need to swipe (swipe across the screen) left or right directly on the file name. After this, the “delete” button will appear. To take a screenshot of the screen, you need to press the lock button and the home key at the same time.

Many Apple users do not know how to remove an audiobook from an iPhone. Most people do this through iTunes, not realizing that there is a much easier way. Indeed, for some unknown reason, swiping on an audiobook does not bring up the “delete” menu. However, this can be done through the settings. Go to the "Settings" application, select the "General" item, and the "Statistics" directory. The “storage location” menu will load at the top. Select the “music” item in it, find the desired audiobook, swipe and delete it.

All iPhones older than the 3G model support multitasking. This means that the applications you exited from are not closed, but minimized. To move from one application to another, you need to quickly press the home button twice. A menu with shortcuts will appear at the bottom open applications, click on the one you want and you will switch to it. It should be noted that not all applications in this menu are actually open. The iPhone keeps a kind of log of all open applications from the moment it is turned on. Really open and working in background only the last of them. iPhone automatically kills old processes to free up memory. So, if you try to return to an application after which you have used several dozen more programs, it will not resume, but will simply start over.

The number of simultaneously open programs varies depending on the phone model (iPhone 5 can simultaneously store many more programs than iPhone 4S or 4) and from the applications themselves. The situation is exactly the same with pages in the browser; old pages are unloaded from memory to ensure performance.

If desired, the user can delete unnecessary applications from memory to speed up your phone. To do this, you need to long press on any shortcut in the menu for switching between applications, delete icons will appear. Kill the last open processes. There is no need to delete everything, they are already inactive, and just shortcuts are displayed in the menu.

If desired, after double click You can swipe left on the Home button. A screen will open where you can quickly jump to audio recordings, switch tracks, or “lock” the screen position. The latter feature is especially convenient when you use the phone while lying down. Another swipe to the left will take you to a menu where you can adjust the volume. It will come in handy if for some reason the physical volume buttons stop working. There is also an AirPlay switch - a technology that allows you to output music and video via Wi-Fi to compatible devices ().

How to extend your battery life
Many people are faced with the fact that the iPhone does not last long enough on battery power. This is true, but the duration of operation without charging can be greatly increased. If you have an iPhone 5, be sure to turn off LTE support. In Russia it is still useless, domestic networks fourth generation iPhone does not support. Also, if you wish, you can disable 3G support if for some reason the new generation network does not catch where you live or you simply do not need it fast internet. If you don't use Wi-Fi, turn that off too, it also uses up your battery.

Turning off notifications and reducing the screen brightness to a minimum will help save battery. If desired, you can activate airplane mode by completely turning off the telephone module. In this mode, the device will last a very long time without recharging, although it will not be much more useful than a regular media player.

    Other applications
In the store Apps The Store has more than 600,000 programs for iPhone, paid and free, but not all of them are equally useful. You should not be afraid that buying software will require too much investment - quality free programs very, very much. For many paid applications may be completely free analogues, which cope with the task no worse, but at the same time display advertising.

Firstly, you have to take care navigation apps. IN new iOS Apple has decided to abandon Google Maps and installed its own mapping service on the iPhone by default, which is still inaccurate, clunky, and even . Unfortunately, you can’t remove it, but you can shove it somewhere out of sight and out of mind. You can find many high-quality and free applications to replace it.

You can install everyone's favorite Google Maps, which is finally out on iOS. The program provides detailed maps with street panoramas and user-friendly interface. You can also use domestic mapping services, who still know the territory of Russia a little better than their Western counterpart. Download the well-known Yandex.Maps, a beautiful and functional navigation service that also provides up-to-date information about traffic jams. For those who drive a car, Yandex.Navigator - one of the few high-quality and free navigator programs in the App Store - will become an invaluable assistant. There are also foreign free navigators, however, the Yandex product is more useful in that it provides local data on traffic jams, road events, security cameras and much more.

I can also recommend the “city expert” 2GIS - another high-quality domestic program. It differs from Google Maps in that it does not require an Internet connection to work. When first launched, the user downloads a map of his city, and then simply uses the application without downloading anything (a similar feature recently appeared in Yandex.Navigator). 2GIS contains addresses and phone numbers of hundreds of nearby pharmacies, restaurants, shops, hospitals, theaters and other establishments. It also shows their opening hours.

That's it for the list navigation programs you can finish. Of course, there are many more of them, for example, good Rambler Maps, iGdeAvtobus, Progorod and hundreds of others. However, the above applications are quite enough to navigate anywhere. The rest of the programs will most likely be in phone dead cargo.

Now let's move on to "social" applications. Almost all major social media have their own clients on iOS, so be sure to download them for yourself. They are much more convenient to use than the web version of the site. Apps can send you notifications about incoming messages and consume much less data. For each popular network There are several third-party apps, but in most cases the official one is the best choice. They are updated frequently and work smoothly: Facebook, Twitter. If you wish, you can register in exclusively smartphone social networks, such as Foursquare or Instagram. The first social network allows you to “check in” in various places so that your friends can know where you are or read your opinion about a particular cafe, cinema, attraction, etc. The second is intended for applying filters to photographs and posting pictures on the Internet. However. This social network has many problems, so many users chose to simply leave it. You can now apply beautiful “filters” to your photos directly from the Twitter, Vk and many other applications.

Download special application not necessary for weather forecasts. The standard one copes quite well with its functions; in addition, the weather forecast is broadcast on the notification panel by default.

From office programs First of all, we should recommend the cloud notebook Evernote. It automatically syncs all your notes so you can access all the information you put into it online. In addition, it allows you to add photos and other materials to notes, conveniently sort them, and much more. Does its job quite well and is free office suite Office Plus, which allows you to edit documents in all major formats.

You can also download news reading programs to your phone: VESTI, Lenta.ru, RBC, Vedomosti and others. If you want to read books, download iBooks - convenient program, developed by Apple. It does not support all formats, but it is beautifully designed. Books will have to be transferred via iTunes, or purchased from the Apple store (there are few Russian-language books there), or put in Dropbox and downloaded from there. In addition, some books can be imported into the iPhone directly from the site from which they are downloaded (not a word about Flibusta.net). The program also reads PDF, but such files are most often formatted large screens computers, and therefore are not very convenient for reading on the iPhone.

To read QR codes with your camera (the fancy-designed squares often found in advertisements that are graphical links to websites), download QRReader or any similar app, they're all pretty much the same. To navigate unfamiliar shopping centers, WizeeShopping will come in handy. To watch TV from your phone via the Internet, any of hundreds of synthesizer programs will do. And if you don’t mind 5 dollars, then Apple’s own Garage Band will allow you not only to play keyboards, bass, guitar or drums, but also to record full-fledged compositions with several audio tracks.

If after reading the material you still have any questions, do not hesitate to ask them on our Twitter

Of course, there are many features on the iPhone that we use. There are dozens of hidden conveniences in the iPhone that you might not be aware of. These are the best iPhone hacks you probably didn't know about. And so we went:

    1. Reset on iPhone 7

You may not have noticed that the Home button on the iPhone 7 isn't actually a button, but a sensor. Tactful vibration feedback creates an impression physical button, but is not actually pressed. Therefore, it is completely useless to press it when the phone is frozen or turned off.

And you won’t be able to do the familiar Reset by simultaneously pressing two buttons, Power and Home. Instead, hold down the Power button and the Volume Down button at the same time. Your phone will reboot and start again.

    Reset on iPhone 7

    2. Fast charging

Tired of waiting for your phone to charge? There is a way to speed up the charging process, and it's surprisingly simple - turn on Airplane mode! In this way, you will minimize the load on the battery and, as a result, charge as quickly as possible. When Airplane mode is turned on, the phone charges 30-40% faster, and this is already about half an hour.

    3. Quick input in the address bar

When entering in address bar the name of the site, and then the URL suffix, for example: .ru, .com, .co, .uk, etc. spend some time. To simplify everything, everything has already been invented: after entering the site, hold down the “.” and all the URL suffixes you need will immediately appear. All you have to do is choose the one you need.

    4. Your phone knows too much about you, turn it off

A bit of a dirty trick, your iPhone is always collecting data about you in the background - be it the apps you use the most, the amount of data, or even where and how long you were.

To turn it off, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services > Frequently Visited Places and turn it off. Here you can see not only where you have been, but also how much time you spent in each place. Apple is really analyzing.

    5. Additional tools

You probably filed the Compass app along with the Stocks and Find Friends apps in your Junk or Miscellaneous folder. Now you can pull it back out because it has a second function that will help in repairs or other situations.

No: Don't use your iPhone to hammer nails. Instead, swipe the Compass app from right to left to reveal a very useful digital “Level.” You can check whether that shelf or picture is actually hanging straight, or you can check the flatness of the table or floor.

    6. How to lock focus in a standard camera

We all know that tapping the screen while taking a photo will set the camera's focus point, right? Fine. However, every time you move the camera after choosing focus, it changes.

Now, instead of just tapping the screen, tap and hold for a second or two until the AF Locked window appears. Now you can change the frame, rotate and move objects without losing focus.

How to lock focus in a standard camera

    7. How to create your own vibration

Have you ever wanted to determine who is calling you while your phone is still buzzing in your pocket? Now you can: In the Contacts application, select the desired contact and click “Edit”, then select “Ringtone”, select “Vibration”. Once you select it, you'll get a variety of vibration options, including a Create Your Vibe tool.

Create your own vibration - it's very simple, just press the screen as you would like to make the phone vibrate.

    8. Siri training

Siri has a bit of a smug attitude - so there's nothing better than teaching her pronunciation. For example, how she sometimes mispronounces people's names or puts the emphasis incorrectly. But now, if Siri says something wrong, just tell her so.

After she makes a mistake, say, "That's not right how you pronounce..." and you'll hear Siri ask you to pronounce the word with the correct accent and then check to make sure everything is correct.

    9. Set Music to Automatically Mute

Enjoy listening to soothing music before falling asleep? Then you are probably very familiar with music playing at 3 am or until the early hours of the morning, draining your phone.

Now you can set your music on a timer. In the Clock app, go to Timer. Here, in the “When finished” tag, there is “Stop” at the very end. This will turn off the music, be it Apple Music or other players when the timer reaches zero.

    10. Take photos without touching the screen

It often happens that you don’t immediately hit the “shoot” touch button or close the display with your fingers and don’t see what kind of frame you’ll get. There are more convenient way- pressing any of the volume buttons while holding the phone by the edges and without covering the screen. Also, pressing the volume buttons on the connected headphones will also take a photo or start and stop video recording.

Selfies, photos and videos using headphones

    11. How to limit 3G traffic usage to save money

Using programs and games on your phone, many of them connect to the Internet and waste your traffic without notifying you about it.

Now by going to Settings > Cellular connection"You can disable Internet access for individual programs, leaving only those that need the Internet. Thus, launching games or applications where the Internet is not needed will not waste traffic.

    12. Increased battery life

Spotlight, quick access and Apple's search for music, programs, basically everything, is great for instant Internet access.

But what happens in the background drains your battery significantly. If you don't use Spotlight, you can turn it off completely or keep only the apps you need to save battery life. Just go to Settings > General > Spotlight Search and turn off what you don't need.

    13. How to improve the signal or iPhone secret menu

No need to run around with your phone, trying to find out where the signal is best received. Enter *3001#12345#* in dialer and press call to start secret menu iPhone. This menu turns your meter into a much more direct numerical indication of signal strength.

To turn it off, simply exit the menu back. Value -50? Then you will enjoy HD video streams, but if around -120 then you will struggle to send SMS. Just follow the numbers to improve your signals. Also in this menu you can see a lot hidden information about the phone and SIM card.

    14. How to undo the last action

Perhaps you noticed the message “Do not apply Input”?! So, when working with text, it often happens that a lot of text is erased, or the inserted text replaced the main one, or large text was inserted in the wrong place, or other actions that need to be undone.

In such a situation, you just need to shake the phone and a message about canceling the last action will immediately pop up. Very convenient.

How to undo your last action

    15. Back button

On Android, there is a special Back button at the bottom of the screen. While on an iPhone it may be at the top of the screen or at the bottom or absent from the screen. The fact is that it is not needed on the iPhone.

In many apps, from Settings to Safari, simply swipe left to right on the browser or settings screen and iPhone will take you back to the previous page or menu. So why need a special arrow button at the bottom of the screen when you have such an elegant solution?

    16. Home button sensitivity settings

Speaking of haptic feedback on the iPhone 7 Home button, you can adjust the vibration strength through the settings. Just go to Settings > General > Home Button and you can choose the vibration level that suits you.

Video of additional iPhone and iOS secrets

The New Year went well for me, Santa Claus (in the person of my beautiful girlfriend) brought me a gift. Namely - iPhone phone 7 black. I didn’t expect such an expensive gift, and I didn’t expect anything like that at all. TO apple technology I was pessimistic (more show-off), I was thinking just the other day of getting a smartphone on Android (plus I would test my code with Android Studio). But I’m very happy about this gift (and I’ll take some brand new Android a little later).

So, I want to write how to use an iPhone if you haven’t actively worked with iOS and don’t even know what an apple ID is, etc.

    My iPhone 7

What's the first thing you should do when buying a new iPhone?

First of all, buy a case and safety glass. I immediately went and taped everything up to protect my gadget. In addition, I had an old type SIM card (I used it for almost 10 years), I went and replaced it for 30 hryvnia.

Then I started the phone. And there everything is according to the instructions - select the language, connect to wi-fi networks, registered an apple id (later I’ll write how it is and what), it was activated, the finger counted and that’s it. Then just use it.

    How to register apple ID

Getting an apple id is very easy. You need an email address (or you can also register it directly from your phone), you enter it on your phone, they will send you an activation code and that’s it. During the process, you will be asked to select data by credit card, but there is an item “No”, so we select it. Then, in order to use your apple id, you will need to activate it (just follow the link in the mail).

    Touch button in iPhone 7

At first I was a little scared by how the button worked. It's like she's falling inside. But it turned out that this was tactile feedback. In all “sevens” it is like this, in addition, this button can be adjusted (recoil force). So don't worry, the button is actually touch sensitive. Easily checked with the device turned off.

    Which programs to install first?

I set myself with app store mail ( gmail, added two accounts at once), Viber messenger, vk, google translator, Google maps, Privat24, Aliexpress and olx. A little later I added applications for personal finance (expenses), training in English (lingual), Instagram (not an active user, I used it only for arbitrage).

I'm very pleased with the phone, there are a lot of different features. I don’t plan to do a detailed review and instructions yet, if anything happens, write in the comments or in the VK group, then I’ll write.

I would be glad if you write what programs and why you use your iPhone in general. Maybe you can recommend something. Thanks for reading ;)

The long-awaited iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, confirming and denying many rumors. There was also Apple’s signature magic, which fans of the brand had not seen for so long. During the announcement, 10 key features of the new smartphones were noted and below we invite you to familiarize yourself with them.

    1.Design

The smartphone has been thoroughly worked on and it seems to have been brought to perfection in every way iPhone sides 6 or 6S. The device looks more streamlined and holistic, the stripes are no longer conspicuous, and the cameras do not stick out so prominently. Matte black color seems to be the most successful and practical, but Jet Black attracts all attention, in Russian version called "black onyx". The treatment of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in this color borders between glass and metal, the phone seems somehow unreal and cosmic. Alas, increased soiling will quickly leave no trace of this shine.

    2. New button Home

Apple loves to reinvent familiar things, in this case it underwent renovation Home button. From now on, it is no longer mechanical, but pressure sensitive with tactile feedback. This is realized using Force Touch technology and the Taptic Engine drive. Now the button protrudes additional means notifications about the status of the device and can even be used in games for unusual vibration sensations.

    3.Protection from water and dust

Yes, now you can throw your iPhone into an aquarium and take it with you to the pool - the IP67 standard allows it to withstand 30 minutes at a depth of up to 1 meter. iPhone 6/6S were not very willing to sink before (withstanding up to 10 minutes of diving), but now they should not be afraid of anything at all. Nevertheless, official guarantee does not apply to drowned people, so be careful.

    4. Camera

Apple has upgraded the cameras of both versions of smartphones. iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have optical image stabilizers, f/1.8 aperture, a new high-speed sensor, 6-lens optics and a new image processing chip that makes them wider in color gamut and brighter. In addition to everything, there is a flash with four LEDs (two warm, two cold).

The main difference between the 7 Plus and the iPhone 7 is its dual camera: 12+12 megapixels, one of which is wide-angle and the other telephoto. This made it possible to implement 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom with improved quality. Thanks to software function The Sneak Peak camera of the iPhone 7 Plus can analyze objects and surroundings, automatically adding background blur or bokeh to them. To achieve this, Apple has built machine learning into the camera app, so it's a truly smart camera where you don't have to manually fine-tune the focus.

Permission front camera increased to 7 megapixels, for selfies and more. They promise improved colors and good digital stabilization.

    5. Screens

The panel resolutions haven't changed, but they're 25% brighter, have a wider color gamut, and are now cinema-quality (whatever that means).

    6. Stereo speakers

Yes, now there are two speakers. One is in the speaking hole, the other is below, but what used to be the 3.5 mm port hole is now where the microphones are. They promise sound twice as loud and clear as the iPhone 6S.

    7. EarPods with Lightning

Since we're talking about abandoning 3.5 mm, we need to talk about bundled headphones with Lightning. In addition, the kit will include a Lightning to 3.5 mm adapter. Why did Apple abandon the usual connector? Yes, because 900 million devices have been created for the proprietary connector, they all connect directly to the iPhone, and the space freed up after removing the bulky 3.5 mm port can be taken by something more useful (new sensors and battery).

    8. AirPods and Beats wireless line

Apple insists on the rapid arrival of a wireless future, the abandonment of 3.5 mm should breathe new life into wireless headphones. Branded AirPods headphones received a familiar design, but without wires, touch control(you can tap on them to call Siri), a microphone, many sensors and a proprietary W1 chip.

Apparently, these are not exactly Bluetooth headphones, because they can instantly connect to an iPhone and Apple Watch without the need for pairing. You just need to open the box with the battery pack for the headphones. They can also automatically turn on and off, analyze the noise around them and muffle it for calls and communication with Siri. AirPods will cost $159, provide from 5 to 24 hours of listening on a single charge with the box, and 15 minutes in the case will give a charge for 3 hours of music.

Apple promises amazing sound quality for such tiny headphones, and they also have best time work among all similar devices. If you don't like their design, the more traditional wireless Beats Solo 3 and new PowerBeats 3 may be to your liking. Or the brand new Beats X.

    9. Apple Pay

The arrival of Apple Pay in Japan was announced on stage, but what is more interesting to us personally is that Apple Pay will appear in Russia in the fall of 2016. Details will be announced later.

    10. Performance

For the first time in many years, Apple has moved away from using a 2-core chipset in the iPhone and switched to a 4-core A10 Fusion chipset, providing the most high performance among all modern smartphones(according to Apple).

As usual, the technical details of the chipset are not disclosed, so we will learn about the processor frequency and gigabytes of RAM later. Now it is only known for certain that 2 cores are responsible for the productive mode of use, and 2 more for quiet operations.

Time battery life increased by 1-2 hours compared to the iPhone 6S Plus and 6S. From now on, the iPhone comes with 32 GB of memory by default, and 128 GB and 256 GB versions are also offered. The color “black onyx” will be available for them.

The phones will appear in Russia in the second wave on September 23, you can find prices at this link. In our opinion, the new iPhones were a success and Apple has made truly modern and relevant smartphones that will certainly find a buyer, even despite the abandonment of 3.5 mm.
