• How to distribute mobile Internet from an Android smartphone to other devices? How to distribute the Internet to another computer (laptop) connected with a LAN cable

    Hello.

When several computers are connected to a local network, you can not only play together, use shared folders and files, but also when connecting at least one computer to the Internet - share it with other PCs (i.e. give them access to the Internet too).

In general, of course, you can install router and by setting it up accordingly (O self-configuration router is described here :) , make it possible to connect to the Internet for all computers (as well as phones, tablets, and other devices). In addition, in this case there is one important advantage: you do not need to keep the computer that distributes the Internet constantly on.

However, some users do not install a router (and not everyone needs one, to be honest). Therefore, in this article I will look at how you can distribute the Internet to computers local network without using a router and third party programs (i.e. only due to built-in functions in Windows).

Important! There are some Windows versions 7 (for example, initial or starter) in which the ICS function (with which you can share the Internet) is not available. In this case, you are better off using special programs (proxy servers), or updating your version of Windows to professional (for example).

    1. Setting up a computer that will distribute the Internet

The computer that will distribute the Internet is called server(that’s what I’ll call him later in this article). The server (donor computer) must have at least 2 network connections: one for the local network, the other for Internet access.

For example, you may have two wired connections: one network cable comes from the provider, and another network cable is connected to one PC - the second one. Or another option: 2 PCs connected to each other using network cable, and Internet access on one of them is carried out using a modem (now popular various solutions from mobile operators) .

So... First you need to set up a computer that has Internet access (i.e. from which you are going to share it) . Open the “Run” line:

    1. Windows 7: in the START menu;
    2. Windows 8, 10: button combination Win+R.

Write the command in the line ncpa.cpl and press Enter. The screenshot is presented below.

A way to open network connections

A window should open in front of you network connections, which are available on Windows. There must be at least two connections here: one to the local network, the other to the Internet.

The screenshot below shows how it should roughly look: the red arrow shows the Internet connection, the blue arrow shows the local network connection.

Next you need to go to properties your Internet connection (to do this just click on required connection right-click and select from the pop-up context menu this opportunity) .

In the “Access” tab, check one box: “ Allow other users to connect to the Internet of this computer «.

    Note

To allow users from the local network to manage the network connection to the Internet, check the box next to “Allow other network users to manage shared access to the Internet connection.”

After you save the settings, Windows will warn you that the server IP address 192.168.137.1 will be assigned. We just agree.

    2. Setting up a network connection on computers on the local network

Now all that remains is to configure the computers on the local network so that they can access the Internet from our server.

To do this you need to go to network connections, then find the local network connection there and go to its properties. To see all network connections in Windows, press the button combination Win+R and enter ncpa.cpl (in Windows 7 - via the START menu).

When you go into the properties of the selected network connection, go to the properties of IP version 4 (how this is done and this line is shown in the screenshot below).

Now you need to set the following parameters:

    1. IP address: 192.168.137.8 (instead of 8, you can use another number other than 1. If you have 2-3 PCs on a local network, set a unique IP address on each, for example, on one 192.168.137.2, on the other - 192.168.137.3, etc. ) ;
    2. Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    3. Default Gateway: 192.168.137.1
    4. Preferred DNS Server: 192.168.137.1

    Properties: IP version 4 (TCP/IPv4)

After that, save the settings and test your network. As a rule, everything works without any additional settings or utilities.

    Note

By the way, you can also set “Obtain an IP address automatically”, “Obtain DNS server address automatically” in the properties on all computers on the local network. True, this does not always work correctly (in my opinion, it is still better to specify the parameters manually, as I gave above).

Important! There will be access to the Internet on the local network as long as the server (that is, the computer from which it is distributed) is running. Once it is turned off, access to the global the network will disappear. By the way, to solve this problem, use a simple and non- expensive equipment - .

    3. Typical problems: why there may be problems with the Internet on a local network

It happens that everything seems to be done correctly, but there is no Internet on the local network computers. In this case, I recommend paying attention to several things (questions) below.

    1) Does the Internet connection work on the computer that distributes it?

This is the first and most important question. If there is no Internet on the server (donor computer), then there will be no Internet on the PC on the local network (an obvious fact). Before moving on to further setup, make sure that the Internet on the server is stable, the pages in the browser are loading, and nothing disappears after a minute or two.

    2) Are the services working: “Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)”, “WLAN Auto-Configuration Service”, “Routing and Remote Access”?

In addition to the fact that these services must be running, it is also recommended to set them automatic start (i.e. so that they start automatically when the computer turns on).

    How to do this?

First open the tab services: to do this, press the combination Win+R, then enter the command services.msc and press Enter.

    Run: Opens the Services tab.

Next in the list find the required service and open it double click mice (screenshot below). In the properties, set the startup type to automatic, then click the run button. An example is shown below, this needs to be done for three services (listed above).

    3) Is it configured general access?

The fact is that, starting with Windows 7, Microsoft, taking care of user safety, introduced additional protection. If you do not configure it accordingly, your local network will not work (in general, if you have a local network configured, most likely you have already made the appropriate settings, which is why I put this advice almost at the very end of the article) .

How can I check this and set up sharing?

First, go to the Windows Control Panel at the following address: Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center.

Then you will see two or three profiles, most often: guest, private and all networks. Your task: open them one by one, remove the sliders from password protection for public access, and allow network discovery. In general, in order not to list every checkbox, I recommend making settings as in the following screenshots (all screenshots are clickable - enlarge with a mouse click) .

Thus, relatively quickly, you can organize access to the home local network global network. I don't think there are any complicated settings here. The procedure for distributing the Internet (and its settings) can be comparatively simplified by special services. programs, they are called proxy servers (but you’ll find dozens of them even without me :)). I'll wrap this up, good luck and patience...

If you have a computer that is connected to the Internet via cable, then you do not need to buy a router in order to connect other devices to the Internet. Instead, you can distribute Wi-Fi directly from your computer and connect your phones, tablets and other mobile gadgets to it.

Distributing Wi-Fi from a computer running Windows 7

First way Wi-Fi distribution from computer to phone involves using the command line. It works great on both Windows 7 and the more modern Windows 10. Although, if you have Windows 10, we recommend using the second method, which is described a little lower, and this method is best used only on Windows 7.

So, in order to set up Wi-Fi distribution, you will need the command line. Moreover, it must be launched with administrator rights, otherwise the commands will not work. In order to launch the command prompt with administrator rights, open the “Start” menu, type “Command Prompt” into the search, right-click on the found program and select “Run as administrator”.

After launching the command line, you can start setting up Wi-Fi connections, which will distribute the Internet from a computer to a phone. To do this, first enter the following command:

    netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid="wifi_name" key="wifi_password" keyUsage=persistent

At the same time the parameters “wifi_name” and “wifi_password” need to be replaced with your own, since this is the name Wi-Fi networks and a password to access it.

If this command runs normally, you will receive a message stating that hosted network mode is enabled in the service wireless communication, and the network ID and password have been changed.

After this you need to run one more command:

    netsh wlan start hostednetwork

This command will launch the previously created Wi-Fi network, after which you can already connect to it. If the command “netsh wlan start hostednetwork” does not work and you get the error “Could not start the hosted network”, then this means that you have some problems with the Wi-Fi adapter. The drivers may not be installed or the Wi-Fi adapter may be disabled. Check everything and try the command again.

After the Wi-Fi network is launched, you can connect to it using your phone, but the Internet is not yet available. In order for this Wi-Fi network to start distributing the Internet, you need to press the combination Windows-R keys and in the window that opens, run the following command:

This will take you to the “Network Connections” window. Here you need to right-click on the connection, through which your computer accesses the Internet and select “Properties”. Please note that you need to open “Properties” for the connection through which the Internet accesses your computer, do not confuse the network connections.

After this, a window with the properties of the network connection will open in front of you. Here you need to go to the “Access” tab, check the box next to the “Allow other network users to use this computer’s Internet connection” function and select “Local Area Network Connection 13” from the drop-down list.

It should be noted that in your case the name of the network you need to select will be different. Look correct name you can in the “Network Connections” window, a new connection will appear there.

That’s all, close the connection properties by clicking on the “Ok” button and check how Wi-Fi distribution from the computer to the phone works.

In the future, if you want to stop Wi-Fi distribution, run the command “netsh wlan stop hostednetwork”. To restart Wi-Fi distribution after stopping or rebooting the computer, run the command “netsh wlan start hostednetwork”.

How to distribute Wi-Fi from a computer running Windows 10

If your computer is running the Windows 10 operating system, then there is a much simpler method for you than the one described above. In your case, to set up Wi-Fi distribution from your computer to your phone, you will need to do just a few clicks of the mouse.

So, if you have Windows 10, then you need to open the Start menu and click on the gear button to go to Settings.

After this, you need to go to the “Mobile hotspot” subsection and enable the function with the same name there.

After this, Windows 10 will start distributing Wi-Fi from the computer. In order to connect to the created network, you need to use a password, which is available in the same section of the “Settings” window.

If necessary, the Wi-Fi network name and password can be changed; for this there is a “Change” button.

Often, users need to provide several gadgets with a worldwide network. However, the purchase of special equipment will require certain funds. But there are other ways. In this article we will tell our blog readers how to distribute WiFi from a laptop to Android tablets or smartphones.

You can distribute the Internet from a laptop to Android devices in several ways, which we will talk about now.

In order to ensure the distribution of wifi from a laptop with Windows OS to Android (or any other device), several conditions must be met, and they are mandatory regardless of which method you prefer.

    • The laptop must be equipped with a Wi-Fi adapter (in the case of desktop computer, then you will probably need an external receiver connected to a USB/PCI connector).
    • The Wi-Fi adapter must have a driver that supports Virtual WiFi installed. If the virtual network does not start, you will need to update the Wireless adapter to the latest current version.
    • The laptop must be connected to the Internet, which will be active.

    Using Windows 7 Tools

This option is quite simple and does not require the installation of additional software. However, you need to take into account that the tools with which you can distribute Wi-Fi are available in an OS with an edition no lower than Professional.

So what we have to do:

On your laptop, click “Start” in the lower left corner of the screen and go to Control Panel:

Now select “Network and Sharing Center”:

*If sorting is set to categories on your PC, select “Network and Internet”.

Here we must click on the line “Set up a new connection or network”:

From the list of connection options that opens, select “Computer-to-computer” and click the “Next” button:

Now enter the network name (optional), create a password and check the box “Save the settings of this network” so as not to enter a password every time you connect:

That’s all, now you can distribute the Internet from your laptop (or computer) by connecting an Android device.

    Using the command line

First you need to check whether it is possible in principle to distribute from your PC. To do this, on the laptop, press the button “ Start" and enter in the search bar " cmd»:

After the system finds the program, open it, this will be the command line:

Now we need to enter the command " netsh wlan show drivers"(without quotes). After this, information will open in which we find the line Hosted Network opposite it should be written “ Yes"(for settings in Russian: " Hosted network support»: « Yes»):

So, if our laptop supports distribution, then we return to the command line again and enter the settings for the network distributed by the device: netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssidMyWIFI"key=" 12345678 ". Where ssid— network name, it can be set arbitrarily (in the screenshot MyWIFI), A key— password, we also specify it arbitrarily (in the screenshot “ 12345678 «):

Now all that remains is to configure our newly created network. To do this, follow the path described above: “Start” - “Control Panel” - “Network Control Center”, on the left side of the window we find “Change adapter settings”, open it, find your network, right-click on it, in the window that pops up activate “Properties”:

In a new window on top panel Click the “Access” tab and by checking the box, we give permission to other users to use the Internet connection from their PC. In the field below, select your network and click “OK”:

Now we can connect our Android device via Wi-Fi to the Internet, which is distributed by the laptop.

    Possible problems:

    • The smartphone does not connect to the created network

Most likely, a firewall, antivirus or other similar programs are blocking the connection. We disable them, and if everything starts to work, then you need to add your connection to the antivirus exceptions.

    • Gadgets connect, Wi-Fi is active, but the Internet does not work.

Perhaps the settings did not allow general access to the Internet. You need to make sure that the Internet is working on the distributing laptop, check the settings for permission to share, restart the PC and start the network again.

Starting the network after rebooting the computer

This does not require entering a network or password, just enter the following command - netsh wlan start hostednetwork

How to open a hotspot on a smartphone

So, if one of the methods described above gave a positive result, all we have to do is provide access to Wi-Fi on the Android device. This is done quite simply:

    *On your device, the items may have a different name, for example: “ Settings» — « More» — « Modem mode» — « Dot Wi-Fi access ».

Distributing wifi from a laptop using third-party software

If none of the described options suits you, then you can easily and simply get what you want by installing one of the applications. I will tell you about the Connectify program, with which you can distribute the Internet without much effort.

You can download Connectify from the official website of the developer, where you can get acquainted with the functionality and capabilities of the program in more detail.

Briefly introducing the program, I will say that this is a tool that programmatically provides Internet distribution without the help of a router, assigning a Wi-Fi adapter built into the motherboard as a distribution device.

The application is distributed on a paid and free basis. The free version provides use of the function WiFi distribution. After downloading Connectify we will need to agree to license agreement. Then, after waiting for the installation to complete, we reboot the system (button Reboot now).

After the restart, a corresponding icon will appear on the desktop, open the program, go to the “ Settings" (settings). Here we are interested in three points in which you will need to enter the following data:

    • « Hotspot Name" - network name, in demon paid version The one you see in the screenshot is available.
    • « Password"—password containing at least eight characters.
    • « Internet to Share"- here, by pressing the button, select from the drop-down list active connection which we will use

That's all the settings, all you have to do is press the " Start Hotspot" and start the distribution process. We will see that the WiFi sign has become blue, and in " Disconnected Clients» the changed access point status and encryption type will appear.

You can connect your Android smartphone to the created network (activate the access point and enter the password), and if everything went well, a message about connecting a new device will appear below:

If you still have questions on the topic of how to distribute Internet to Android from a laptop, write to us and we will be happy to answer them. I have nothing more to add. Good luck!

Needed high speed internet for a smartphone or tablet, but there is no Wi-Fi at home? No problem, use your computer as a router. Share the Internet from a laptop or PC with wireless adapter, can be done in several ways: using special programs Virtual Router Plus and Switch Virtual Router, creating virtual network via the command line or using the Mobile Hotspot feature in Windows 10.

Other ways to distribute the Internet:

How to distribute Wi-Fi from a laptop on Windows

By running two commands in the command line and sharing the Internet connection, you can create an access point and share the network. This method is suitable for any version of Windows. The only thing is that Wi-Fi must work on the laptop. To enable it, click the Internet Access icon in the notification area and activate Wi-Fi.

    Run command prompt as administrator:

    • In Windows 7, click Start and search for cmd. The result “Command Prompt” will appear. Right-click on it and select “Run as administrator.”
    • On Windows 8 and 8.1, click Windows icon right-click and select “Command Prompt (Administrator).”
    • IN latest builds Windows 10 click on Windows icon right click and select " Windows PowerShell(administrator)".

    Copy and paste the command:

    website"key=" password" keyUsage=persistent

Instead of website can you come up with a different name for the network? password replace with your password. It is better not to use Russian letters in the network name and password - only numbers, symbols and English letters.

Then press "Enter". A message will appear indicating that the operation was successful.

Copy and paste the following command:

Press "Enter" again. You will see a message that the created network is running.

The access point has been created, but does not distribute Wi-Fi yet. First, you will have to configure Internet sharing in the “Network Connections” section. To get there, press “Win” + “R”, type ncpa.cpl and click “Enter”. The Win key is the key with the Windows icon.

The Network Connections window will open. After completing the commands, a new connection has already appeared there, which is called “Wireless network connection"on Windows 7 or "Local Area Connection*" on Windows 8, 8.1 and 10. The name has a number (for example, in my case on Windows 10 - 17, you may have a different number or digit), and below it network name.

Now right-click on the connection through which you connect to the Internet. For example, I have a wired Ethernet connection. A list of options will appear, from which select Properties.

Go to the “Access” tab and check the box next to “Allow other network users to use this computer’s Internet connection”, and in the “Home network connection” drop-down list, select the created network connection - “Local Area Connection*” or “Wireless Network Connection” " After that, click "OK".

The launched access point will begin to function, and the computer will distribute Wi-Fi. To stop the network, in the command line Windows line type the following and click Enter:

    netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

This method is good, but after rebooting the PC you will have to start the network again. Let me tell you how to make sure that a Wi-Fi access point is created automatically every time you start your computer.

Creating an access point: starting Wi-Fi when the PC starts

In order for the Internet to be available immediately after turning on the computer and not have to start the wireless connection every time, you need to add BAT or cmd file with network parameters in startup. To do this, open Notepad. Copy and paste into text file 2 lines:

    netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=" website"key=" password" keyUsage=persistent

Network name website and password password you can change it to your own.

Save the text file to any location on your hard drive, naming it anything, for example, “start-wifi-hotspot”, but when saving in the “File name” line, add .bat or .cmd at the end so that the extension changes (in in this case there is no difference between the BAT and CMD extensions, so either one will do).

    • In Windows 7: Start → All Programs → Startup.
    • On Windows 8, 8.1 and 10: Press Win + R, type shell:Startup and click Enter.

Move the created CMD or BAT file to Startup.

Now, every time you start the PC, an access point will be created.

The file does not need to be added to Startup. You can simply double-click on it and the network will start. To stop it just as quickly, create a second file with the extension .cmd or .bat, paste the following command into it, save and click on it at the right time.

    netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

How to distribute the Internet via Wi-Fi from a computer using the Virtual Router Plus program

If the option using the command line seems difficult, use special programs. The first is Virtual Router Plus. The developer site is no longer working, so google "download Virtual Router Plus" and download installation file utilities from your favorite portal with free software. After installation, configure the virtual router:

    • In the Network Name (SSID) field, give the network a name.
    • In the Password field, enter a password that must consist of at least 8 characters.
    • In Shared Connection, select a connection whose Internet connection will be distributed from a laptop or PC (through which the computer is connected to the network).

Then click the "Launch Virtual Router Plus" button, which will create new point access.

The wireless network has been created, all that remains is to provide it with access to the Internet. Go to “Network and Sharing Center” → “Change adapter settings” or press “Win” + “R”, in the “Open:” field paste ncpa.cpl and click “Enter”.

The “Network Connections” section will open. Right-click on the connection through which the Internet operates and select “Properties” from the list of options that opens.

Open the “Access” tab, check the “Allow other network users to use the connection...” checkbox and select the created “Local Area Connection*” from the list. Finally click "OK".

How to create an access point on a PC using the Switch Virtual Router program

The second utility that will help you create a Wi-Fi access point is called Switch Virtual Router. Compared to Virtual Router Plus, the program has more advanced settings. The utility installation file can be found freely available on the Internet or downloaded from the official website.

The program has been translated into Russian and is easy to use. In the settings window, fill out three fields: in the first, set the name of the future Wi-Fi points, in the second, enter the password, and in the third, repeat it. Switch Virtual Router can automatically start when you turn on the computer, remain operational during sleep mode, and you can also enable the display of devices connected to the Network.

After setting up Switch Virtual Router, click “OK” and in the main program window click “Start”. All that remains is to set up shared Internet access according to the instructions above.

Connectify is the best program for launching a virtual network

Connectify Hotspot 2018 is the most advanced program presented in the article, but most of the functions are available only in the paid version. The functionality of the free Connectify is limited to creating a Wi-Fi access point, and the network cannot be completely renamed - “Connectify” will remain in the name. But once again you won’t have to provide shared access to the Internet in “Network Connections”; just select a connection from the list in the program settings.

You can download the Connectify Hotspot 2018 installation file from the official website https://www.connectify.me/ru/hotspot/. After the first launch, you will be asked to enter an activation key, purchase a license, or use the free version.

Select the connection that will “share” the Internet (if there are several of them, for example: Ethernet and USB modem), change the Wi-Fi network name and password, or leave the default settings. Then click “Start Hotspot”.

From additional functions The free version has an ad blocker, and in the “Clients” tab you can see which devices are connected to the access point, find out the speed of their Internet connection and how much traffic they used.

    Mobile hotspot in Windows 10

The anniversary version of Windows 10 introduced system tool, allowing you to quickly launch the access point. New feature is called “Mobile Hotspot”: to manage it, right-click on the “Start” menu, go to “Settings” → “Network and Internet” and open “Mobile Hotspot”.

Select the Internet connection whose connection will be used to distribute Wi-Fi, set the network name, password and switch the toggle switch to the “On” position. Done – the mobile hotspot is launched.

I can’t distribute the Internet from a laptop: errors and problems

If after execution netsh commands wlan start hostednetwork errors appear in the command line or Windows PowerShell: “The hosted network could not be started. The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the required operation" or "The hosted network could not start. The wireless LAN interface is turned off”, check whether Wi-Fi is turned on on the laptop.

To do this, click on the “Internet Access” icon in the tray and make sure that Wi-Fi is activated (the button is lit blue). Or go to “Settings” → “Network and Internet” → “Wi-Fi” and check whether the toggle switch is turned on in the “Wireless network” item.

The second reason for these errors to occur is that the computer does not have Wi-Fi adapter. Laptops have it built-in, but most PCs don't. Therefore, you will have to install a PCI or USB adapter.

Also, the “Hosted network could not start” error appears when Windows PowerShell or Command Prompt is not run as an administrator.

It is also worth checking the operation of network adapters in Device Manager. To get there, open the “Start” menu and select the item of the same name, or use the “Win” + “R” key combination to open the “Run” window, paste mmc devmgmt.msc into the “Open:” field and click “OK”.

In Device Manager, click View, select Show hidden devices" and expand the item " Network adapters" If the icons “Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter", "Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter" and other adapters whose names contain "WAN", "WLAN", "Wireless" and "Wi-Fi" have an arrow, which means these adapters are disabled. Right-click on them and select “Enable Device”.

In addition, next to the adapter there may be a yellow exclamation mark, or it may not be detected at all and appear in the “Other devices” tab as “ Unknown device" Then try the following: first remove the adapter (right-click on it, select “Remove device” and confirm by clicking “Delete” in the new window), and then click “Update hardware configuration”.

If the previous methods did not help fix the “The hosted network could not be started” error, all you have to do is update wifi driver adapter. First try this in automatic mode: Right-click the adapter, click Update Driver and select Automatic search updated drivers" The drivers will be installed, after which the message “Updating” will appear at the end. software For of this device completed successfully" or " Windows system successfully updated the drivers."

If required driver will not be found automatically, download it from the laptop manufacturer’s website, or enter the name of the Wi-Fi adapter in search engine and download the driver from your favorite software site. If the driver does not have an installer, select “Search for drivers on this computer”, specify the path to the folder with the driver and click “Next”.

Another common problem is when the access point is up and running, other devices connect to it, but the Internet is not distributed, sites do not open, and the message “Without Internet access” appears in the connection status status.

Most often this happens because the running network connection is not connected to the Internet. How to configure shared Internet access for the created virtual network is described in detail at the beginning of the article.

Also, the antivirus and its built-in firewall can block the Internet connection. In this case, in the antivirus software settings, disable the firewall and the antivirus itself for the duration of Wi-Fi distribution.

Another Wi-Fi access point may not start due to the WLAN auto-configuration service being disabled. To check if it's working, press the Win + R key combination, type services.msc and click OK.

Find “WLAN AutoConfig Service” in the list, right-click on it and select “Properties”.

In Startup Type, select Automatic, click Apply and OK. After completing the steps, restart your PC.

Also press "Win" + "R", paste msconfig and click "OK".

Go to the Services tab, find "WLAN AutoConfig Service" and make sure there is a checkmark to the left of it. If not, check the box, click Apply, and then OK.

For the changes to take effect, in the “System Settings” window that appears, select “Restart”, after which the computer will restart.

Innovative technologies are developing at lightning speed. Every day we have more and more mobile devices - tablets and smartphones have literally taken over everything. "How can you using WiFi connect to a computer or laptop” is a question that worries many. Subject to availability home router, the problem is easily solvable. But what to do in a situation where it is missing, but you really need to connect to a computer or laptop?
It's not too difficult to do this. You just need to make sure that the laptop (computer) distributes the network like a router. It's good that Windows developers 7, 8, and also took care of this by including in operating system such an important functionality.

There are currently two real ways connect a mobile device, that is, a smartphone, tablet and others to a computer, laptop:

    1. using built-in functionality in Windows;
    2. using special programs that allow you to create a virtual router on your laptop.

How to distribute WiFi using Windows functionality

For these purposes, you need to make sure you have a wireless adapter or card that supports MS Virtual Wi-Fi technology. As a rule, everything modern devices have this function. Next you should find “ Network and Sharing Center" You can enter using the button near the clock by right-clicking the mouse.

A window will open where you need to select the appropriate menu section. Then you should click on “ Setting up a new connection».

After clicking, the next menu will launch, in which you need to select the fifth item from the top.

An information window will open, here you need to click on “ Next».

In the window that opens, you need to enter the parameters the network being created WiFi:
    • name - "SSID";
    • security type - it is advisable to leave the default setting, that is, “WPA2-Personal”;
    • password - here you need to enter the Wi-Fi security key, you can use letters and numbers in a mixed sequence, you need to use at least eight characters.
Then you need to put the bird in the field " Save network settings", and then click on "Next".

That's it, you can connect your mobile device. But first you need to enable and configure sharing. We find " Enable Internet Connection Sharing", click with the mouse.

After enabling this access, you can close the window. Now you need to configure it. Let's go again to " Control center networks and sharing».

In the window that opens, look for “Change add. param. public access." Now another window should appear on the screen.

Optionally, so that connected mobile devices could see the folders, network printers, which are open on a laptop (computer), you need to check the “ On network discovery», « On sharing files, printers" Now you should click on “ Save changes».

That's it, our work is finished, the wireless network has been configured. Can be used WiFi network from a laptop to full power, connecting all kinds of devices - phones, smartphones, tablets and even media set-top boxes and TVs.

Distributing WiFi via netsh and command line

In order to distribute Wi-Fi from a laptop to other devices, you can use virtual point access. To do this you need to open text editor(notepad is a great option) to create a text file where you should write the line:
    netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=pc-helpp key=12345678
Then in the “SSID” field you need to enter your personal wireless network identifier. Where the “KEY” field is, the network password is entered. If the operations are carried out correctly, the following should come out.

Then the file needs to be saved to bat extension. To do this, click “file” “Save as” and write in the “file name” field, for example WIFI.bat

Now you need to run the file using administrator rights. To do this, right-click on the file, and then find the field “ Run as administrator».

The Virtual WI-FI Adapter driver must be installed, after which network connections you will be able to detect the created network called “Local Area Connection 2.” In my case, this is Local Area Connection 13. Now you need to connect this network to the Internet. We go to the “Control Center”. networks and social access", right-click on the connection through which you connect to the network. Then go to the “Properties” tab. Here you need to go to the “Access” tab.

Check the box next to “Allow other network users to use this computer’s Internet connection.” In “Connecting your home network” you need to specify a new network connection, that is, “Wireless connection2”. After all the steps you need to click on “OK”.

Now everything is ready. All that remains is to launch the created virtual network. To control it, use special commands:

    • to start - netsh wlan start hostednetwork
    • to stop - netsh wlan stop hostednetwork
    • to view the status - netsh wlan show hostednetwork
All of the above commands are entered via the command line.

It is worth noting that the above steps can only be performed if you have administrator rights. Command line can also be run using administrator rights. To do this, you need to start typing the word “ cmd" and the system will display the following shortcut.

However, it is much more convenient for each team to make its own bat file. This solution has one more advantage - the file can be included in startup, which will allow you to launch the newly created Wi-Fi access point on your laptop or computer when you turn on the device.

How to distribute Wi-Fi using the Connectify program

This option is an excellent alternative to the Virtual Wi-Fi method, especially when for certain reasons it is not possible to use it. .

It is worth noting that this program exists in several versions - Free, PRO. The first is a free version, but with reduced capabilities, but for our purposes it is quite sufficient. So, let's launch the program.

In the window that opens, you need to enter the following settings:
    • “SSID” - we skip this item, because free version does not imply the possibility of change;
    • “Password” - here you need to specify the password for the wireless network;
    • “Internet to share” - in this field you should select a connection to access the global network.
A window will open. This version does not provide 3G, 4G connection - it is only available on the paid version. We check that the “Share Over” column is set to “Wi-Fi”.

In “Sharing Mode” you should specify the most secure WPA2. Then click on " Start Hotspot».

That's all, the wireless network for distribution on the laptop or computer is configured.

Many users are not happy with the fact that full version This program is paid. However, you should not look for pirated options. There are similar programs that allow you to use a computer or laptop as virtual router- This MyPublicWiFi, mHotSpot. They are free, but have functions no worse than their counterparts.
